Terrible stay
We booked a room with windows and a balcony for about €150, but on arrival, we were given a small, windowless economy room instead. I believe they were overbooked and decided to downgrade us.

Thanks to Hotels.com support, we were moved to a smaller room with windows for the second night, but the first night was awful — no windows, no air, and my spouse and three kids struggled with panic attacks. It completely ruined our stay.

Breakfast was very basic, and the hotel staff didn’t care or try to help. Without Hotels.com, we would have been stuck.

The room was so smelly and musty. It was super dirty and the bathroom was full of mold. The towels were yellowish. You get what you pay for, the hotel is not a good choice you are only paying for the area but the room was horrible. Breakfast was ok. Staff were nice.

Terrible experience I called them on the day of arrival while I was waiting for connection flight to arrange airport pick up but they mentioned my confirmed booking is not valid anymore and they can't accommodate us. they made our Christmas break stressful

A very good, solid, central place to stay in IST

The Basilissis Hotel is in a very good part of town, right near the Sultan Ahmed Mosque and square, and a lot of tourist-friendly sites and food options! The hotel is kind of off the main roads, so it's a little quieter than if it was on the rail lines.

The room was practical, the bed was comfortable. The shower did not have it's "rainwater shower head" even hooked up, so don't expect that; however, the shower worked fine. Their included soaps are good. A mini-bar does have a price list, but very reasonable considering the convenience; just be aware, around the corner are super cheap options for water, drinks, and snacks.

The staff all speak good English; there was some mix up with our taxi information when we ordered, but in the end it all worked out. They always answered our questions, and worked hard to make us feel valued.

If COVID is till a thing when you read this, the hotel itself can order a guy to come by and do the test in the lobby; you pay the hotel staff, and you get your results within 8-10 hours (that's how long ours took). Those results are available to use to get you back into the US.

Still reading? Then let me put you at ease; it's a good place to stay! There were only nitpick things that we could find wrong, but because of it's central location, professional staff, and good room, we would not hesitate to stay here again in Istanbul.

Certainly an hotel to recommend

Stayed 7 nights September 2021. Hotel in a central location walking distance to many eateries, Grand Bazzar & Spice Bazzar. Tramline is 5 mins walking distance. The hotel is compact but in great location. Cleaned daily. All staff were friendly especially the 2 receptionists who were great at giving directions and recommendations.

Location, Location, Location!!

This is a cozy little place located very close to the main attractions in Istanbul. The place was very clean and appears to be newly renovated with the latest amenities. You get a taste of local food with an excellent buffet-style breakfast.

The staff was very friendly. Musa will help you find answers to all your questions regarding the areas. You can never get lost with his detailed directions with descriptions of landmarks to get somewhere.

Bem localizado, mas quartos pequenos

A grande vantagem do hotel é que está bem localizado, bem próximo de uma estação de trem e de tram. Está também bem próximo das grandes atrações de Istambul como Topkapi e Sofia etc. O café da manhã é mais voltado para turcos, pois não há muitas opções para estrangeiros.

Es wurde jeden Tag sauber gemacht.
Handtücher wurden immer gewechselt, sowie auch die einmallatschen.
Das Personal war super freundlich.
Manch andere Hotels mit Sternen können sich eine Scheibe abschneiden
Die Lage war auch super zentral, 2 min Fußweg zur nächsten Straßenbahn.
Würde ich nochmal buchen :).

Kesinlikle memnun kaldık.
Özellikle personelin içten, güleryüzlü yaklaşımı, otelin konumu, temizliği konaklamamız boyunca kendimizi iyi hissetmemizi sağladı.
Kaldığımız odanın biraz küçük olduğunu söyleyebilirim, ama ihtiyaç duyduğumuz herşey mevcuttu ve oldukça rahattı.

Все было просто замечательно, мы чувствовали себя как дома! Переселили нас в номер классом выше) Гульнора, Ибрагим и главный менеджер (не помню имени, увы) - очень помогали во всем. В номерах чисто, удобные мягкие матрасы, комфортные подушки и одеяла. Нулевая сантехника, очень красивый санузел, современная мебель в номере. Все даже лучше, чем на фото. Есть лифт. В номере сейф, шкаф, полотенца и фен. Есть косметика для душа, шапочка.
Шумоизоляция отличная, очень тихо, шум с улицы не слышен. По утрам в мечети по соседству зовут на молитву, но у "нашего муллы" был такой красивый соловьиный голос, что это даже не мешало)) В Султанахмете мечети на каждом повороте, так что этого соседства вам не избежать))
Ребята, спасибо за все вам, за уют, комфорт, чистоту, за сладости и выпечку и вкусный чай, за заботу, в следующий раз только к вам!
