A rule-based management style can be useful, but decisions must also take into account individual circumstances. Rigidly applying rules without judgment or empathy leads to poor service outcomes.

In this case, the decision made by the front desk duty manager, Ms. Makiko Misawa, demonstrated a clear lack of professional judgment and customer service capability. Her manner was unfriendly, unsympathetic, and unprofessional, which made us feel unwelcome, uncomfortable, and hopeless.

The entire process was extremely frustrating and left me feeling helpless. Ms. Misawa’s attitude and conduct did not meet the basic standards expected of a front desk manager.

In contrast, Ms. Zhou Xin Tong provided professional, considerate, and effective assistance. Without her intervention, the situation would have been far worse. Her conduct deserves recognition.

A great hotel, located just opposite the train line that will take you into Tokyo Station.

Lots of amenities provided and rooms of a good size, plus coffee pods available as well (which was a plus for us).

Good breakfast selection as well. And you have the ability to leave your luggage with them, if you book another stay with them at the end of your trip, allowing you to travel around without all the big suitcases.

There is a family mart inside the hotel 7/11 is a 3 min walk train station is directly across the street and 4 stops from Disney no transfers !!! I would stay here again !!! 10/10

The room was large however cleanliness is questionable. We found a half eaten sushi not cleared on the chair at the tatami area. As it was late when we checked in and we were just staying for 1 night, we did not raise this up to the front desk. Next morning we were rushing to Disney and hence did not brought it up either. Getting to Disney was relatively easy and fast.

Location was good, right in front of Shiomi JR line, easy access to Disney and about half hour to Tokyo station. Good sized supermarket and shop selling bentos next to train station. Breakfast was so so and was the same daily for my stay so recommend dont need to add if have time to venture elsewhere. Room size is decent and bath salts was provided. Overall good value for hotel if dont mind further away from central Tokyo

Great hotel! It’s right near the Shiomi station and so easy to travel to other places. Especially convenient if one wants to visit the disney parks coz it’s one strait train line n few stops away. The property n rooms were clean n I liked their breakfast buffet. Liked they had a convenience store inside the hotel too. Other than a couple who were a bit impatient, majority of the staff r super nice n welcoming. I enjoyed my stay here and I recommend in to others.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kaie hotel. We stayed 7 nights. Location wise, it was quite far from places like Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, and Shibuya, but if you don’t mind setting extra time aside, a train station is located just opposite the hotel (a minute walk). It was, however, very close to the Haneda airport and Disney. Located inside of the hotel was a small Family Mart, and if you couldn’t find something in there, there was another convenience store called Mini Stop about 2 minutes walk away or the grocery store Maruetsu just beside the train station. The staff were very kind and there was someone there who was able to speak English which is a plus. The room we stayed in had 3 beds, and was very clean and spacious for 3 people. They also had a nice selection of free amenities you could grab from downstairs near front desk. Other than the fact that the location was further away from some of our destinations, this was an amazing hotel. And I would definitely stay again!

There is also an assortment of amenities by the front desk like face wash, shave gel, toothbrush, and even customized your own bath salt. Hotel is right across the JR station, walking distance to a bento shop and mini mart. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to stay in the area.

This hotel felt like a 4 to 5 hotel. The lobby and rooms looked pleasing and extremely clean. The room was a bit small, but my kids loved the bunk beds. The staff was courteous and accommodating. My only con, there is no lounge or work area to sit, only a small table in the library/laundry room. The pros: there's a small complimentary amenities area for everyday uses. A conveniently located Family Mart and cafe in the lobby. The metro is next door, and you do not hear it at night. The neighbourhood is quiet in the evenings. There are two \"fast food\" restaurants nearby, a MiniMart and a supermarket that sells ready meals as well. One metro ride to Disney and to Tokyo Station. I was satisfied with this hotel being conveniently located to everything I needed.

It was a great facility. Clean and spacious room. The amenities were good and easy access.
In terms of staff, I find customer service is inconsistent. In general, staff are nice and polite but not accommodating. I needed an area for a call at 6:00am and one staff told me I can use the cafe as it is not open until 10/11am. The day of the call, another staff said I cannot use it and I would have to pay for a room that costs $200usd or use the baby change room behind the front desk. As this facility host many conferences and meetings, I would expect them to understand the needs of taking private business calls but not only they are not accommodating but actually not very helpful with offering practical solutions. I hope they can look into this type of requests for their customers in future.

The hotel itself was fancy and the staff were great.
We had a couple of disturbed evenings / nights from kids running around outside our room and above us. Also the train station was quite noisy until late.
We thought it was a convenient location with being on a train line. However, it was quite a distance and multiple train changes to get anywhere of interest.
I wouldn't stay here again, but this is possibly bad luck due to the other customers and us not researching the location effectively.

The Tokyo East Side Hotel Kaie is one of the best places I've stayed in a while. The hotel is easy to get to from Haneda Airport. The staff was so wonderful and helpful; they would accommodate most any request we made. The hotel's amenities were amazing as well. They offer a great buffet breakfast every morning. There is a laundry service on the second floor. They also have a Family Mart in the hotel, whose staff is also very helpful. The hotel is literally just two stops away from Disneyland, it's two stops from Tokyo Station, and the train is just across the street. On top of the hotel being amazing, there are great food options nearby and even a grocery store across the street. I would really recommend this place if you enjoy a quiet location that isn't too crowded.

Very nice and convenient hotel, steps away from the train station, and with a konbini on the main floor for food and toiletries. Also, the staff was very helpful, as we arrived for check-in rather late (about 10.30 pm) and the online booking somehow had a mistake, but they quickly sorted out the problem and gave us another room, large and clean. I cannot comment on other amenities, since we stayed at the hotel pretty much just to sleep, but it was a great stay

It's a beautiful hotel located very conveniently in front of a station so travel was easy. Supermarket is super close by and the lobby has a complementary amenities bar in case you forgot something. The coffee bar doesn't open till late, but a hotel next door has a coffee bar that opens early and is great. The beds are a bit stiff for a side sleeper, but everything else was excellent.

This is a nice hotel. Everything is well kept and clean. Staff are excellent. However, it is nothing special. During our family vacation, we stayed at 5 different accommodations in Japan and this one was our least favorite. Again, there was nothing negative that stood out that gave us a poor experience, but also definitely nothing special that stood out in a positive way either.

We love staying here with the bunk beds arrangement. The breakout buffet is excellent with many hot food options, cook to order eggs, fruits and desserts. They have self service laundry that is affordable if you need to do a full load. The location is convenient right across from the JR station and some restaurants nearby. A 24 hours udon restaurant and a grocery store.

Property condition was great. Very clean and quiet. 2 restaurants, and a lounge/cafe on site although we only went to breakfast here once. Thoughtful amenities like toothbrushes, lotions, bath salt etc. available for free in the lobby.

Train station located directly across the street so was very easy to get to and from different locations in the city. Several convienience stores and a supermarket within a couple minutes walk.

We chose this location because it was close to the train station. The hotel is well kept and the service was great. Room size is huge compared to other hotels we have been to. A separate bathroom, separate toilet room, and an extra sink in the hallway. Lots of room to lay out your luggages. Lots of washing machines in the laundry room. The highlight was the breakfast buffet. Great selection of food and the service was awesome as well. Will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

By far our favorite hotel in Japan (out of 4 hotels we stayed at within 7 days). It is right next to the Shiomi Station so getting around the city is easy. The facility is clean and very neat. They offer plentiful of amenities. They had a bath salt table that you can make your own bath salt pouches to use. They had details on Airporter to transport your luggage and there’s a Family Marr situated right inside the hotel. There’s a little cafe and clothing store inside the hotel as well. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and neat. Staff is very nice and friendly. Helped with our luggage and questions. Would definitely stay here again.

Being across the street from the subway is a plus, and only a few stops away from Tokyo Station which is a venue all in itself!
A walkable neighborhood, however not many local destinations.
The hotel offers a complementary bath salt self serve “bar” in the lobby that is a nice touch.
