Bit of a walk from the train station, but next to a bus stop if you can figure out transit from there. Conveniently next to a Domino’s and Family Mart. Doors use a tumbler key instead of a card key, so it’s a bit old. Bed is decent, but area around it is pretty small.

A good stay for the price. A short enough walk from Kiba Station and one bus route stopping just outside. Daily breakfast included in the 1F cafe, but it's only open for breakfast hours. Clean and comfortable budget-sized room. Wired Ethernet port has good low latency for gaming.

I really enjoyed my stay. It is so perfect for a solo traveler. I stayed for about 2 weeks. Staff were very nice, even with a language barrier. It is a bit far from the heart of Tokyo, about 40 mins by train. There is still lots of places to discover nearby. I would definitely recommend and stay here again myself!

A great hotel in a quiet part of town

Checked in late night by the most pleasant receptionists. The clean twin room is a bit tight, but a perfect fit for a party of two guests and two check-in baggage. The hotel is well equipped with bidet/spray toilet, central heating, kimonos, vending, and a paid built-in soap washer and small load dryer, but also unconventional essentials like an external fan, a microwave in the hallway, a fridge that must be switched on when needed, and a plug-in electric trouser press available on every floor if the dryer ends up keeping your clothes wet still. Housekeepers will also change your sheets every 2 days and leave you fresh towels and kimonos often outside your room.

I picked this location for being near a train station, which would be our primary transportation, alongside the renowned Family Mart, Aeon, a bathhouse, a fishmonger that sells tempura, and select restaurants of interest like Dominos and Sukiya. The hotel was also middle enough for key locations like Disneyland, Akiba, Odaiba, Skytree and Tokyo Station, and west locations like Shibuya, Nakano and Ikebukuro. Definitely a great location for first-time guests. And if you're an anime fan, the TV includes at least two channels into late-night to really bookend a day of sight-seeing.

The breakfast was soo good!!! I loved the beef one, the staff were fantastic. We just used google translate and the staff replied through this, it was awesome. Their was only x1 dryer and x1 washer which were a little small and took awhile to get dry. And trying to do washing when it was free was also alittle hard but nevertheless was still a fantastic stay! The vending machine was sweet, and the car park at the back always had a free park. Couldn’t understand Japanese on the parking meters and some strangers were happy to translate for us. Was a great stay overall! Lovely staff too!!

Perfect hotel for a base in Tokyo

The hotel was in a great location in Shinjuku. Very close to many train stations and the metro. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful although the cleaners were a little persistent when we needed a lie in! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other people.

Quiet location & good price, but...

The APA Hotel Tokyo Kiba is a pretty standard Japanese business hotel with small, but comfortable rooms.
I usually stay a few subway stops away near Kayabacho Station on the Tozai Line, but decided to try this hotel because of the price and location.
Kiba Station (on the same Tozai Line) is an easy five minute walk from the hotel, giving you easy access to many places of interest in Tokyo - especially the eastern part of the city.
The station area has a fair amount of restaurants, but no decent places to grab a cup of coffee in the morning.
Fortunately there are a few convenience stores, but both were Sunkus, with no sight of the more popular chains like 7-11, Lawson or FamilyMart.
I opted to include breakfast with my room, but it wasn't really worth the price. I ate it every morning, but only because I'd paid for it.
And the first morning, I had to endure the 'crazy rantings' of another guest, who was constantly talking to himself and/or the hotel staff during breakfast.
I nearly lost it and shouted at him to be quiet!
Thankfully I didn't see him at breakfast again, but did hear him shouting obscenities on his phone while he was in his room (we were on the same floor...).
I don't think hotel staff in Japan handle these situations well as they seem to defer to the person who is often the source of the problem.
Confrontation is avoided at all costs here, which means the person who makes the most noise usually gets their way...
Oh well, it could've been worse...

Great for jet lag

I stayed in this hotel after a very long 13 hour flight. Originally, I was going to save some money and stay at a capsule hotel but I decided at the last minute to treat myself to a quiet hotel room. I'm so glad I did. The staff was friendly and quickly checked me in--a plus because I was famished and desperately needed a shower. Thankfully there were some little restaurants within walking distance from the hotel so I was able to satisfy my jet lagged hunger. As for the bed, it was wonderful. Thanks to jet lag, I woke up around 4:30am, but the bed was so comfortable, and the duvet so fluffy, that I didn't mind. I almost didn't want to go back to my apartment in Fukushima because the duvet was so nice.

The only thing I really had a problem with was the tiny sizes of the bathtub--I know Japanese tubs are small, but this was smaller than the norm. I also wish the pillow hadn't been so flat. But overall, my stay was great.

A ten day stay. Great because I slept well and convenient because of the places to eat, transportation access.
Only issue was with one of the staff, depending on the visitor's nationality you were treated kindly or curtly. All other staff while not fluent in English were warm and friendly.

Nice hotel far from Tokyo easy metro access

Enjoyed my stay at the Kiba Apa hotel, the room and halls smelled like smoke. Apa does allow smoking, but it did make most everything smell like it. The hotel is very close to many museums and a beautiful park. I also enjoyed the dominos pizza next door. However it is about 10 minutes walk to the metro, and of course is a bit of time to get to other stations. This of course may require several metro line changes. It's about 25 minutes to Ueno by metro, 35 to ilebukuro and 27 to Shibuya. Other than the location being a bit far from attractions the hotel is very nicely situated. My one bedroom was very comfortable with plenty of amenities. Staff was always very helpful and kind.

A lovely, small, neat, well kept room in a neighborhood that is much closer to the heart of Tokyo than most think. Kiba is only a couple of subway stops away from Tokyo Center, with plenty of nearby restaurants to satisfy any who wants a meal. And the price is a bargain. I recommend this highly for travelers on a budget.

Room size pretty standard for Tokyo but comfortable and very clean. Tips, you could tuck you luggage under the bed :)
Location is just east of Tokyo, a few stops from Odaiba or Tsukiji. Kiba station is 2 blocks away and lined with eateries. Train gets a bit packed returning from Tokyo at 10pm due to nearby demography.

Compfy beds. Basic accommodation but is good for the price.
Only complaint is the smell of smoke. Japan's smoking laws are very different to Australia's so getting used to the smell iof cigaretts in a hotel was hard.
Easy walk to Kiba subway station, bottle shops, restaurants and busses. Took about 40 mins to get to Disney land from this hotel.

The window can't be opened, the washroom had outdated fixtures compared to the other APA Hotel's, and the room uses keys instead of key cards. The door has no mechanism to stay closed unless you hold it closed and lock it.

Small but satisfying

The hotel was well kept. Staff was very friendly. We are US citizens and the staff did the best they could to communicate. The hotel is very close to the Kiba station and it was walking distance. Easy to get anywhere in the city, with a short walk and ride. Hotel itself is older but it looks like they were in the process of renovations. Never made it to our floor. Room was very small, but personally my partner and I didn't mind at all. We are used to living in a small studio in Seattle. Free wireless internet got very good reception on 8th floor. That was very exciting! Overall great experience. Would recommend for the 80 dollar per night.

Middle of no where with no air conditioning

Having stayed the prior week at a different apa hotel in higashi-shinjuku I was very disappointed with apa hotel kiba. Firstly there was no air conditioning which made a very uncomfortable stay. Kiba is in the middle of nowhere and does not offer anything for foreigners or locals to do, a very rough run down part of tokyo I'd rather not see again.

The bed was so ridiculously soft it was hard to sleep in. The rooms weren't dirty, but were far from being spotless as well. It was nearish to the station but I wouldn't really recommend this hotel at all. There are far better in Tokyo in the same price range.
