The registration and check-in took a long time because the staff could not find the record of the reservation. The famous pool was closed for maintenance. The hotel breakfast is amazing. The room was lavish. The staff was sweet but useless: the checkout was early and the hotel took an order for boxed breakfast. Result-no breakfast. The staff member gave a 20 minute speech that she needs a 5 min to order the breakfast.

Wonderful stay at the Hagia Sofia Mansions. Staff was wonderful! The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the rooms were very clean. The bathroom was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable! Great location! We got around efficiently by calling the from desk for buggy transports down the hill. Loved it! Thank you!

This property really is something special. The heritage buildings and custom details in the rooms add so much to the overall experience, it was far from a cookie cutter room. The management upgraded us to a suite at no extra charge which was stunning and very appreciated! The property is large, spread out across many buildings but they offer golf carts to take you to your building which was helpful. We were travelling with our infant and everyone was very friendly and patient with her, which matters a lot as a parent. We will stay here again when we come back to Turkey and will definitely opt for a suite since it was absolutely wonderful.

Beautifully appointed room with view of Hagia Sophia. Ideal location to all the ancient archeological sites and restaurants. Friendly helpful staff. Easy to get to from airport: took the eleven bus to Sultan Ahmed stop (1 hr 13 min ride) to a 3 min walk to hotel. Highly recommend it

Excellent location close to the major attractions of Istanbul, all within walking distance. E.G. Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, Basilica Cisterns. Good included breakfasts. Room on second floor with no elevator a bit awkward.

Rooms were OK, but our room was very small even by European standards and it was a 3rd floor walkup. The problem with the hotel is that you really don't know where you will be staying. It is spread in buildings over a fairly large area. So it is a little bit of a crap shoot. Staff was OK, not great. So if you are going to spend a decent amount for a room you may want to consider other alternatives.

I was very disappointed to stay in this 4 / 5 star hotel, the A/C did not work properly, i could not sleep during the first night and reported the problem to the front desk but it was not taken care the next day so i decided to leave the hotel and did not spent the second night, the refrigerator did not cool the drinks or my meds that i travel with, the hotel seems to save energy by having all the ac room controls and refrigerators under very warm settings. I will not stay in this hotel never again and do not recommend it during summer time. I want a supervisor to contact me to further discuus. Thank you

The hotel is located right next to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace Museum, which made it very easy for us to visit all three. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The only downsides were the outdated bathroom fixtures, such as the faucet and shower head, and the fact that there is no elevator in the hotel.

A+++ALL the way! From the moment we checked in we received great service from the staff. This hotel is just steps away from the Hagia Sophia mosque and close to everything. This large golf cart thing they have can take you everywhere around within short distance. My 90 year old father loved it. The buffet breakfast at the terrace was such a treat. We enjoyed the service there and the wide variety of Turkish breakfast food. Overall, I would love to stay here again in the future. Keep up the excellent work!

Outstanding!

Couldn’t have hoped for a better location: Literally between the Theodossian Wall and the Hagia Sofia. Had a view of both from our room and from breakfast every morning.

The Hurrem Sultan Mansion was an incredible surprise. Booked it due to large square footage for the price and the need to accommodate my family. Turned out to be a standalone house on three floors WITH its own kitchen and massage studio. Top floor bathroom is set up for private Hamam.


A bit compartmentalized for the square footage, but the separate rooms and nooks turned out to be a Godsend for travel-weary family.


Concierge service very helpful in getting reservations with reputable tour providers. Breakfast buffet options top notch. Dinner menu / on-site restaurant was nice given the multitude of options out on the street.

The location was perfect if you want to be 5 minutes away from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern and Toptaki Palace. It was about 15 minutes away from the Grand Bazaar too. The room was immaculate and a great size. We loved that it embodied traditional Turkish elements. We highly recommend this hotel if you want to be central.

This hotel is a most convenient property as it right beside the Sofia Hagia and the Blue Mosque. The room was spacious and comfortable with great wifi and quiet in a very busy area. My wife has bad allergies and while the bed was comfortable she found that the bed head was very musty and dusty. The staff came and cleaned it and after that she was fine. The room had carpets which impacted allergies. There are cats roaming about the property and one was by our room door every night trying to enter the room. It seems that the cat was used to staying in the room and this is what was causing my wife's allergic reaction to the room.

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hagia Sofia Mansions. Being able to hear the call to prayer from the Hagia Sofia from our room was truly surreal. Everything was at walking distance and the staff were all very proactive and friendly. For example, we originally had our luggage at another hotel and the hotel staff went to and retrieve it while we went to eat at one of the delicious restaurants located nearby.

We thank Hilton for their help in making our stay in Istanbul a memorable one.

Highly recommended in Old City, amazing!

This place was absolutely incredible. To our surprise we were immediately upgraded on our first stay! We had a beautiful large room with a view of the Hagia Sofia Mosque that was unbelievable. Loved all the different eating options and the green house cafe.

Thank you to the employee named Emirhan for picking us up, carrying our very heavy luggage, and speaking with taxi drivers on our behalf. Thank you to the lovely lady at the front desk who welcomed us and left us with cultural traditions.

The staff was extremely helpful and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. It is the perfect location to see all of the main sites in old Istanbul. Everything you want to see is within walking distance. Be aware though that the hotel is next to the Hagia Sofia Mosque so you will hear the call to prayer early in the morning (6:15 ish when we were there). That being said it is all part of the experience of being in a totally different culture. I generally don’t write reviews but this place exceeded our expectations. The staff we interacted with and deserve recognition are Bechet, Emirhan, Fatih and Wai.

We also enjoyed waking up to the call to prayer each morning ( a bit earlier than we would have liked, and the first morning it caught us off guard... but quite nice once we got used to it) Far better than an harsh Alarm Clock.

I was a little bit disappointed with this stay. I booked two room types, one is a standard room and the other is a twin room, which are in different buildings, but because the structure of the house should be wooden and the windows are not well sealed or double laies, the 2 rooms windows face the railway tracks. It was very very noisy every day especially at night because the trains passed by almost every 5 minutes (and rang the bells). During the day, we were very busy traveling around, so I didn't report this to the front desk. If you are a very sensitive sleeper, please don't consider this hotel or make sure that the windows don't face the railway tracks. Although, this is indeed unavoidable, after all, its location is excellent, right next to the Hagia Sophia Mosque, which can save a lot of time, and its house foundation is also very old, so I can fully understand.
The hotel's Turkish breakfast is worth trying, with a variety of varieties and good taste. (I have lived in Turkey for more than 1 year), the service staff is very friendly, and the hotel facilities are actually well maintained. Their historical jacuzzi pool is highly recommended, my children had a lot of fun, 40 minutes is about 60-70 euros, this is an additional payment, if you are a family with children, it is recommended because it is private for 40 minutes.

In the heart of Istanbul

The hotel is very lively, it unfolds over one whole street in different buildings in the heart of the historic quarter, adjacent to Hagya Sofia and a short walk from the basilica Cistern, the blue mosque, the Topkapi Palace and pretty much close to what a first time tourist wants to see. Staff is friendly and personable, rooms spacious, clean and lovely, in short a great venue for the first time in Istanbul.

Wonderful visit

Beautiful hotel with stylish rooms. Well located close to the cultural centre and the market. So much to see and do in walking distance. The hotel is plush and tasteful decorated. My only complaint was the ‘jacuzzi’ cave, meant to be a private space yet there is a camera watching your every move. I wonder how many people know that they are being watched….

Located right at the key sites of Hagia Sofia Grand Mosque, Sultanahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), Topkapi, making it wasy to get there before lines form. If you like walking, its easy walking distance to sites such as Grand Bazaaar, Spice Market, pedestrain bridge. Felt very safe walking in this area. Breakfasts were delicious and abundant. Also, the Sarnic Restaurant was really fun with the Turkish dancing in a beautiful Cistern, and good food. Book for 7:30 or so, as dancing starts at 9.

Perfect for walking

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is lovely. You can easily walk to the grand bazaar, the spice market, Hagia Sofia, the blue mosque, Topkapi palace, the cistern, and a lot of restaurants. The downside is taxis can’t drop you off at the hotel. The hotel will pick you up with a golf cart and bring you to a taxi stand. We had good weather and don’t have mobility issues so it wasn’t a problem for us.

I had the most amazing experience staying at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond as I was traveling solo. They made sure I felt safe and explained to me all the details about how to see the sights and even drove me in the golf cart to dinner late night and fetched me as I felt uncomfortable alone.
The welcome at the reception was fabulous they were so warm and friendly
Special mention to staff member Tolga who expedited my check out and handled everything like such a pro .
I am blown away by this hospitality and lovely clean unique hotel. The mansions were exquisite. I stayed at the Rose mansion - the smell of roses as you enter the mansion was intoxicating and so so special .
They offered a complimentary breakfast which I did a traditional Turkish one at the garden terrace . Top tier.

There’s a lot to like about this hotel. The location in the tourist district is hard to beat. It’s so central and convenient. That is beaten however by the staff who are superb. Friendly , attentive and very helpful. The rooms are interesting, a good sized and not corporate at all.

Only real downside is the set up - as some of the rooms are in separate buildings on a quite walking street there is far more noise than you get in a traditional hotel - people are literally walking right below your bedroom window. If that’s not a problem this hotel may well be for you
