Beside the Topkapi Palace and a few hundred metres from St Sophia, the hotel is located in a charming, quiet street where local families still live. Restaurants, bars and cafés can all be found in the vicinity around Sultanahmet.

Shops as well as links to the public transport network can also be found within a short stroll. Atatürk International Airport and Sabiha Gökçen International Airport are about 14 km and 44 km away, respectively.

This 19th century mansion was once occupied by a master perfumer and is now a family-run wooden hotel with 8 specially decorated rooms that was fully refurbished in 2010. The hotel prides itself on offering a personal, customised service and has free Internet access.

It is a charming hotel and so close to major attractions and eats. Breakfast and the staff at the buffet is great. We weren't happy with 2 major things: the soundproofing of our room in 101 is so bad, you can hear everything from the neighbors upstairs, loud footsteps and even their conversations as well as noise from outside the hotel so we didn't get a good sleep at all. The staff in the front desk can't seem to be bothered. Frowns when asked just basic questions and lounges on the guest sofa for the few encounters we had of him. Won't recommend staying here.

Airport shuttle was confusing but found, hotel has no lift, they given me on 3rd floor room, despite i was pointed that i am 66 years of age requested to change but room was available to 2nd floor, next day1st floor room was available but they didn't offer me. Staff working for breakfast were very good.

Absolutely perfect location for so many things!!

5 minutes from the waterfront in one direction, 10 minutes from Hague Sophia and the Blue Mosque in the other.

Transit easily reachable in a 10-15 minute walk.

Despite being so close to the very crowded square, the street around the hotel is very peaceful, with staggered streets that make it quiet and calm when you come back from being out.

Staff were very friendly and helpful (thank you so much for carrying my bags up and down the stairs!).

There is no lift, which after a long day walking up and down the hills of Istanbul would have been nice, but this is the only teeny negative I could say.

Will definitely stay here again and have already suggested to friends!!

Amazing front desk 24 hour service ✅ they arranged our transport with fixed rates do we knew what we were paying for taxi. The airport pick up was tricky since we got delayed but they accommodated us and it’s a big Mercedes van. Overall, I would say good for what you pay for. I would stay here again.

Great Hotel in a great location !

I was really pleased and very happy with this hotel. The front desk folks were always kind and chatty with us and were more than happy to offer any services and/or answer questions.

Breakfast was FABULOUS! Great variety of food and they slightly changed it up every day. There was even chocolate cake one morning, come on? Chocolate cake? YES PLEASE!!

The room was fantastic, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were nice. Great overall experience with a Bed and Breakfast small hotel feel to it. Big fan.

Also, the main touristy activities such as Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque and Sultan Palace was less than 10 minutes walking so a great deal and a great way to save money.

Great location, good service, some inconveniences

The front desk worker was very kind and helpful and they helped us book tickets to fun events. Great location for walking anywhere.

The beds are not super comfortable. My brother and I shared a room with two twin beds. He is about 6'3 and he found the bed slightly small and the mattresses were a little firm.

Also, keep in mind that they don't have maids or janitors available 24 hours a day so you may have to clean up messes yourself. (My brother and I got sick so we had to clean up vomit ourselves) If you are travelling with kids this may be something to consider.

Not wheelchair accessible at all. Expect to carry luggage up and down stairs or ask the front desk to help you.

Great location

Great location. Rooms were very nicely lit with big windows and comfy beds. But the AC was not up to par unfortunately. Took a couple hours to cool, other than that everything was great. Would probably stay here again if we get a different room with better AC.

For the price and location, can't really complain. Also, Tan was a great host and very accommodating.

The hotel was like being at home however the friendly people who worked there knew all the places you should go and even how much you should pay for a good buy. I was lucky that i stayed there twice during my travels and the second time was like coming home. I went to the grand bazaar and it wasnt worth if but on the way home i was lost whoch rarely happens.i called the hotel and was almost in tears. Tan asked where i was and told me where a taxi stand was and i was back there in 10 min. Honestly i didnt want to go home and im sure i will go back!

Great stay in wonderful and welcoming hotel

Wonderful 4-night stay at the Esans hotel. They were really proactive and responsive via Whatsapp prior to my stay.
As I arrived really early in the morning, they let me store my luggage until I checked in in the evening. To my surprise (and absolute delight) they upgraded me from a standard room to a family room, which was huge, had a ridiculously comfortable king size bed, two armchairs, plus another two chairs and a table and a nice dressing table. Bathroom was big, with a walk in shower. There were lots of towels as well as shampoo and soap, etc. This is not a cold modern hotel, but has charming rooms decorated more traditionallly Turkish.

And most importantly, everything was spotlessly clean. I walked around barefoot in the room and there was not a spec of dust on my feet. All the surfaces and the bathroom were spotless, too.

The room was on the third floor, super quiet, I didn't really hear my neighbours and it was only one more floor up to the beautiful breakfast room with terrace and view of the Marmara sea.
Breakfast was nice and plenty, typical turkish fare, so don't expect hot food, though there were always scrambled eggs.

Everyone was super friendly from Bayram and his colleagues at reception, to lovely Sebo who was responsible for the breakfast and the cleaning staff I came across.

Would 100% recommend, though be aware there is no elavator, which was not problem for me, but people with mobility issues might struggle.

We had booked room with window and road view. But they provided us small room in ground floor with no window. We asked for blanket but unfortunately they could not provide us. Worst experience ever.
I used to travel a lot. And this is for the first time I have booked through hotels.com. And the breakfast experience was awful .Food was cold and very limited options. I won’t recommend it.

Excellent hospitality! This is a charming treasure that provides a wonderful Turkish experience. I felt like I was visiting new friends. The staff is very warm, attentive and eager to converse and please. It’s the warmth of a B&B with the services, comfort and amenities of a boutique hotel. Bayram was extremely helpful. (Ask him to book your spa experience!) The breakfast is delicious, diverse with so many homemade specialties- all served on a lovely rooftop balcony. Highly recommend. Rooms are small but charming and cozy, no elevator but good to walk stairs after all the good food. Room 202 is a very large room - double the others, if you need the space. Decor is a little dated but it only adds to the charm. And for the price, this is an excellent choice!

I recently stayed at this hotel in Istanbul and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is conveniently located close to the main attractions, which made it easy to return to my room to freshen up during the day. The room I stayed in was spacious, with a good ensuite bathroom.

The staff were exceptionally helpful. The front desk provided excellent advice on the best places to buy gifts and how much things should cost, ensuring I didn't get ripped off. They also offered guidance on various other matters, which I found very useful. Multiple front of desk staff some able to speak English well.

One of my favourite aspects was the complimentary breakfast each morning. The food was freshly prepared by the lady chef, who also took care of room cleaning. The breakfast included a variety of sweet and Savory dishes, as well as traditional Turkish food and tea. The menu changed slightly each day, which added a nice variety. The breakfast area was located on the top floor, offering beautiful views of the Bosphorus Strait, with an outdoor section where you could enjoy the morning breeze.

Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Esans hotel is just what it seems to be: a boutique hotel in Istanbul. This means, in part, no elevator. But Esans staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was tasty and sufficient, the rooftop afforded a decent view of the Bosphorus, and my room was small but comfortable (I had a firm mattress for a bed). I would stay at Esans again.

Great for layover stay

I stayed here on a 17 hour layover. It was comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices have changed on shuttles to and from airport unlike the listing it is actually 50 euros. Shuttle was great. I did not get to enjoy breakfast as my flight was really early . The hotel is in a safe and convenient area , which suited me well as a solo woman traveller. It is not a fancy hotel but it has everything you need for a short stay .

The rooftop breakfast was a nice touch! I think the only thing that could improve is the deli meats diversity for breakfast and greens, but that is a matter of personal preference.
Overall, we loved our stay at this historic hotel so close to the Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace! Thank you for everything!

Pics can be misleading!

I selected this hotel based on the price and expected a value worth my money. Unfortunately, what it had to offer did not amount to 1/3 of what I paid. Zero comfort, terrible food! To ask for about $140 per night for this hotel is OUTRAGEOUS! It’s not worth $50!

Great stay at this Hotel…..I arrived VERY early and obviously my room was not ready. I got a complimentary breakfast and an opportunity to freshen up for the day. It is a perfect location to explore the Old City…..short walks to main sites and restaurants ….yet nice and quiet to sleep. Had a very spacious room and breakfast was delicious with good variety to choose from.
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends visiting Istanbul and will stay here again.
The only downside is that the shower door opens to the inside of the shower and the shower is not that big. Not sure how a big person will get in and out.

Overall we had a great stay. The hotel is located very close to blue mosque and Hagia Sophia. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great with a variety of delicious and fresh dishes.

My only complaint was the air conditioning. It got quite warm during the day and the air conditioning didn’t make much of a difference. We had our AC checked couple times but it didn’t make a difference. Thankfully the staff was able to accommodate a fan for us which I think should be in all rooms.

Getin and Mohamed at the front desk are awesome. Beside helping you with the hotel checkin and stay, they go beyond to wow you by assisting you with restaurant, hamam bath, city tour, transportation……. They do it all with pleasure and smile. I would stay here again.

Pros - access to important tourist areas. Staff tries their best to help. Very accommodating.
Cons - too much eco friendly as the AC cannot stay on while you are out so you come into a warm room, for some reason getting towels is a hassle as we were provided with two bath towels for four people and had to explain ourselves when we asked for more. Blankets/comforters were not provided until we asked(when they were readily provided).
Overall will I stay here again - well for ease of access/being in the center of everything - I will.

This hotel is a great value for the price paid. It is very near to the major attractions: the sea, the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque. I was able to spend a few days walking from the hotel to local attractions and parks. Great dining nearby. A wonderful hotel.

We loved our stay at Esans! Staff were very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was very good, and everyday you get to choose something a little different. The room was impeccable, and warm. It was pretty cold and rainy outside and that made it perfect inside. The location of this hotel couldn't be better, quietly located,but very close to main attractions. We will definitely stay again here! Thank you Esans Hotel!

Esans Hotel is a perfect choice for staying in Istanbul. Its location is perfect with a 2 minute walk to Haghia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque. A peaceful place with very friendly hotel staff. Breakfast is pretty good as well with a very kind breakfast lady. Would definitely recommend it to the first timers especially.
