The Staff made my stay great. They were very accommodating helped with recommendations and transportation. The room was great. Very clean. Good pillows and bed for a good rest. The location was great because there was a train station and also walking distance to the famous mosques. There is a bit of a climb on some steps, but if you don’t mind that, then it’s a great location. I would love to stay there again.

Wow! This hotel is located in the middle of everything! Nearest tram is just 7-10 minutes walk away.

Very clean! Our room gets cleaned everyday even if we don’t ask for it. It was very much appreciated! I liked it that they have rooftop restaurant. However, we didn’t get to try because we are usually out by 8 AM and back at 8 PM.

Staff are all very professional, very knowledgeable, respectful and kind. It’s our first time in Istanbul and we asked a lot of questions regarding activities, directions, food/restaurant recommendations. Fatih and Ferhat at the front desk are both very helpful. They made our stay very easy! They are probably one of the reasons why we would consider going back to Royan Hotel Hagia Sophia :)

The staff were amazing. There tried to accommodate our requests as much as possible. They were very helpful. Although, our room was smaller, it sure was clean. The hotel was very aesthetic. The breakfast buffet with the view was phenomenal. Where do you find a breakfast buffet that serves fresh honeycomb? It was my first time to have been served that. The hotel is close to most tourist sites, very much walkable. You won't get hungry as there are many restaurants and stores nearby. No gym though, but, it's not a priority of ours to be at. Overall, a 5⭐️ for me.

Honestly words can’t express how amazing the staff are! The property was so clean and the staff went above and beyond to make my families stay amazing. I’ve stayed in lots of five star hotels around the world, including Istanbul and the service level was on top at this hotel. Last time we stayed in Istanbul we stayed at a different hotel which was supposedly five stars and the service and cleanliness was now here as good as the Royan Hotel. The location was shockingly close to Hagia Sophia (8 mins) and the local train station was very convenient. Every day the staff on the reception helped us choose good food locations and destinations to visit all the Personal touch of what they enjoyed.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and if we want to stay in Sultanahmet again we will definitely be choosing this hotel.

Little quirky hotel in the heart of old town with all the shops, restaurants and transport options around. But the most important feature is the excellent staff, especially Fatih who helped us with all the sightseeing tips and was always willing to offer more. Everybody in the hotel was always very friendly and helpful and they couldn't do more for us. Loads of other nationalities and hotels could learn a lot from Turkish people. From the minute we booked, the hotel contacted us on WhatsApp to offer assistance with transportation from the airport which was well priced and helpful. It’s a good hour from the airport to downtown.

The hotel has super clean and stylish rooms, really comfortable beds, aircon, plentiful fluffy towels, complimentary tea and coffee and safe in the room. They serve a wide ranging breakfast buffet selection to cater to guests of all nationalities in a dining room with sea facing terrace.

Staff honestly could not be any more friendly and helpful. They can arrange transportation and excursions. The Bosphorus boat tour is a must, lovely way to see the city. By the way the hotel is in the lower part of Sultanahmet, 5 mins walk to the river walk, only slightly more up to the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque and perfectly positioned to explore the city.

I cannot single out any individual because so many people helped us and I can’t remember them all. Sincere good service in a lovely little boutique hotel. Highly recommended!!

I have just returned from my 2nd visit to Royan Hotel Hagia Sophia in 6 months. For me this hotel is undeniably the best hotel in Sultanahmet

From my arrival to departure I can say I was treated in such a friendly and professional manner by all staff. The hotel is immaculately clean, bedroom was so comfortable and the unlimited free tea was amazing.

A couple of staff deserve a special mention;

Merve (housekeeping) is such a friendly smiley girl who is so hardworking and serviced my room beautifully each day. I loved that she allowed me to practice what little Turkish I had with her. An absolute gem of an employee who carries her job out with the utmost professionalism

Servet (reception) remembered me from my previous visit and was extremely welcoming when I met him. Loved that he would arrange for me to have Turkish tea with him before I retired to bed at night and our conversations are a memory I will treasure. He is just such a friendly gentleman and also the little touch of giving me a gift of Turkish tea to bring home was just precious.

I honestly cannot waiting plan my return trip later this year and highly recommend this hotel if you are planning to visit Istanbul.

The check-in staff member named Rauf was extremely rude and unprofessional from the moment we arrived. His sarcastic remarks and lack of empathy were highly disappointing and not indicative of the service I expected from your establishment.

Here are the specific issues we encountered:

Upon our arrival, I mentioned to Rauf that I was tired and would like to check in as per my hotel confirmation. Instead of assisting us in a courteous manner, he sarcastically replied that he was tired too. This response was entirely unprofessional and uncalled for. Despite having made a booking request for an early check-in six weeks in advance, Rauf refused to accommodate this request.

Furthermore, he denied us internet access while we waited until the 2 PM check-in time, forcing us to purchase separate internet access. This was both inconvenient and unacceptable.

The room provided to us was situated near a bread-making business that operated throughout the night. The noise made it very challenging to sleep peacefully and significantly impacted our stay.

Rauf's behavior and the lack of consideration for our booking requests and comfort were unacceptable. This experience has greatly affected my perception of the hotel, and I hope immediate action is taken to address these issues.

Just returned from a four day stay at this lovely hotel. Perfect location and super friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to help. I had fractured my metatarsal a week before going, not ideal but the team at the hotel facilitated all my requirements at very short notice. All major attractions walkable and the nearby train connects to the Metro.

Welcoming, friendly staff. There is a hill at one of the entrances so if someone has balance challenges you need to be aware.
