What a spot in Istanbul Fatih

All the great I’bul sites nearby in a sylish little corner of Fatih (with veryvhigh restaurant price level) Very pleasant stay in a cosy and very clean Ottoman style hotel. We received great service by our host Ozzie who has that special way to make you feel superimportant without saying so.

Slightly disappointing

The hotel was very nicely positioned in sultan hamamet, just walking distance from hagia sofia, topkapi Palace and the blue mosque. The hotel itself looked very nice in the foyer but the bedroom were in need of a re-vamp especially the bathroom, the beds where uncomfortable and the shower was disgusting but i didn't complain i was only there for a few nights. The breakfast buffet was quite nice. Ozzy, the night receptionist was really nice and helpfull but hakam who worked in the day was the total opposite and very miserable, even charged more than what was agreed for an extra guest, but all that aside the hotel is ok if you want br close to the attractions and aren't to fussy about cleanliness.

This hotel was difficult for taxis to get to, the bathroom had a lot of mold in the shower, they gave me a wet pillow and the floor in front of the door to the room felt as if you would fall through.

Loved it!

My husband and I absolutely adored Yusuf Pasha! The atmosphere and decor was right up my husbands alley. It is rather qaint and reminds one of a much more classic time especially the old fashioned elevator. The gentlemen at the front desk were extremely kind and helpful especially Shafak. We will definitely stay here again!

A boutique hotel that is very centrally located. Walk to Blue Mosque, Topikapi Palace, Aaya Sophia, Sulta's Hammam, many restaurants, shopping and other historice must-see places! For those who like a bit of walking, even Grand Bazar and Spice Bazar and sea shore!

Also, included in the price, is a good breakfast, room-safe, excellent staff and coffee!

The staff were great. Our room had a faulty ceiling light. I reported it 3 times and nobody came to fix it. It blinked every 4 seconds similar to a strobe light all through day and night. Try to stay further up the hill towards the Blue Mosque.

We stayed there for two weeks. The hotel is decent. The staff is friendly but they wouldn’t help all that much. I asked the receptionist for an upgrade to a room with a bathtub instead of the Turkish hamam. He told me he would have that room ready for me the next day. I asked again and he kept saying he would let me know. My time there passed by and he kept saying tomorrow. I finally saw that they were not serious and had poor professionalism. Generally, the hotel staff keep to themselves and are not friendly. There was one staff member, Safak, who was really nice and helpful. The receptionists would not give a greeting upon us walking into the hotel. Their breakfast was okay. Overall, average hotel but below average customer service. I wouldn’t really recommend it.

Pleasant hotel

A pleasant place to stay in Sultanahmet, close to the sites and many restaurants. The room was a bit small but not stuffy, the beds were very comfortable bath a little tight but clean and nothing to complain about. The area was quiet at night, removed from the hustle of the main streets The staff was great, especially Ali, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, a bit monotonous. All in all a good place to stay in Istanbul.

The staff at this hotel were excellent - not too 'hard-selling' on the tours but provided information and were knowledgeable. Reception permanently manned and additional help was always available if required. Good price and the breakfast room serenely restful - an extensive buffet and they try to make breakfast a little different each day, particularly with the hot food and soup! Rooms provided with tea/coffee making facility and mini-bar in which you can refrigerate your own shop-bought refreshments if required.

close to all major tourist attractions

We REALLY enjoyed our 7 nights in this hotel - it's an uphill walk in the morning about 3-6 blocks to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Arasta Bazaar, Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace, Islamic Archeological Museum, and a few blocks further to the grand bazaar. The Spice market and Galata bridge is a bit further but we found short cuts to walk there also. We did a hop on / hop off tour the first 2 days and saw the BIG picture which helped decide what interested us the most. There are great eating restaurants literally everywhere ! There is a bank 3 blocks away - to take money out with a credit card or exchange money from your country to turkish lira. We were shocked to have a hot tub in our room along with the king size bed and the view of the marmara sea… it was wonderful… The full breakfast every morning was just fantastic with so many choices AND the staff were very helpful. They helped arrange our transportation to and from the airport which was a tremendous relief. My husband loved that every evening, the walk back to the hotel was downhill :)

Hotel was nice an clean, front desk staff 24hrs (which was great when we arrived at 1am).
The hotel is located very close to the blue mosque, having said that location is oposite direction to everything else. We found ourselves walking through the blue mosque and the main square every day 2 or 4 times a day depending how many times we left the hotel. Closest tram is 10 minutes away. Train out of the city is 4 blocks away.
Staff was super nice, breakfast was pretty decent. Room was clean and nice, but no luxuries. Ask for a higher room to avoid street noise from people coming in and out or smoking outside (which seems to be a favourite pastime of many locals).

The hotel is close to the mosque and aya Sophia, it is about 7 minute walk to the sea side. Only downside was that the walk to the mosque was up a slight hill which was a struggle for my elderly mother. Also the only other downside was that there was water dripping from the ac which fell on the bed.
Other than that everything was great, staff were really friendly

Authentic, clean, cute hotel close to a lot of major attractions, the sea and nice restaurants within walking distance. Staff was great. Ahmet was very helpful in booking our dinner to a nice fish restaurant, Bosporus cruise, Bursa trip and airport shuttle. The free breakfast was super. Despite of the lack of amenities found in more luxurious hotels, the experience of dealing with nice locals was magnificent. I would recommend it to those who want to experience true Istanbul.

Lovely location and charming ambiance!

Yusuf Pasa Konagi is a small boutique hotel in Sultanahmet, about a 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque. Aside from this great location, the hotel itself is charmingly decorated! Rooms are quite small though, but this didn't prove to be a problem. Was greeted at 2 in the morning very politely and given suggestions on what to see in Istanbul. Hotel is very close to a \"restaurant row\" as well. Can highly recommend this hotel!

Car wash during airport transfer

We booked an airport transfer to the hotel. We had to wait for at least ten minutes before the car arrived and on the way to the hotel, the driver filled up the car with gas and washed his car. We paid for an airport transfer and did not think it was appropriate for the driver to be getting gas and getting his car washed on our vacation time. The front desk people also were not very polite. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great hotel for the price. Located at the bottom of a decent incline up to the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a little weak. On the first day the eggs appeared to have some mold. Nothing looked that fresh. The staff was incredibly helpful and willing to book any reservation or take care of any need. The neighborhood seemed safe. I would stay again for the price.

I booked this hotel at the last minute as I extended my layover to incorporate the weekend. I have stayed in this same area before at places around the same price point and this was by far the best of the bunch - the single room on the 3rd floor (#302) was surprisingly large, very clean and well decorated. Breakfast was more than adequate (the usual Mediterranean bread, cheese, sliced meat, grains and fruits on offer) and it's a one block stroll to the main eating street of Old Town. Better yet, head down the hill under the bridge and eat at the local outdoor place. Only complaint was a shower that would not hold a consistent temp; rather alternating at hot/cold. Minor. Will certainly stay again during my next layover.

The area is very convenient and very safe. The staff were very friendly but I wish that they spoke more English. I had a hard time communicating with some of the front office staff regarding my needs. But they were very helpful with booking the accommodation for the airport shuttle. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. The shower situation was strange since the water kept switching from cold to hot during my showers every time I showered. But I would stay at the hotel again. It was exactly what I needed and very convenient to get to everything in the Old City.

The staff were kind and friendly. The breakfast was Turkish style with fresh and delicious choices. The hotel is at the bottom of a hill from Haghia Sophia. Be ready to hike. The items on the desk are actually part of the \"mini-bar,\" so be prepared for charges. They are not worth it.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to the sights of Sultanahmet and was not disappointed. It is really close to a variety of things. It was clean and relatively quiet. I was amused by the rooster and hen meandering the cobble stone streets.

They offer free breakfast and tea service in the afternoon. Be careful to get tea during that time or they will charge you.

Good hotel, fabulous breakfast spread in the mornings.
Hotel very clean, tidy and staff very helpful - recommended and booked tour for us from hotel.
Close to all attractions and lots of eateries in the vicinity. Within walking distance to grand bazaar. Metro and tram easy to navigate.
Some street noise at night but it is Istanbul after all!

Really liked the hotel. Delicious Turkish breakfasts, with western food also. Only 5 minutes walk (literally) from Blue Mosque, etc.

Staff very pleasant except for when I checked out and new person on front desk tried to make me pay again (I had already paid on hotels.com).

We booked cheapest twin. Everything you'd want was there in room, and more, but don't expect a huge room.

The hotel is located in a charming and safe small quarter with old wooden homes, and large hotels and restaurants just a block away. Our cab driver got lost finding it.

I recommend Istanbul as a great Xmas get away for fellow secularists and non-religious types: 25 December was 'unchristian' bliss.

Booked Deluxe Sea View Room with magnificent Sea Views\" however room only had distant glimpses of the water between buildings. Unable to change rooms due to hotel being full. Manager refused to credit or discuss and did not show for agreed meeting to discuss. Rooms had too many furniture items making it difficult to move around or pack/unpack. Not enough breakfast tables resulting in queuing for over 15mins for table. Management totally uncooperative.

This is my first review, but this hotel was everything we could have hoped for. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was very clean and the breakfast was very pleasant with a large choice of dishes. the only problem we had was one nighta very noisy family turned up late and make a great racket settling into their room next to us. This was not the fault of the staff as I have run into inconsiderate yobs even in five star hotels. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Such a nice hotel and nice people

This hotel was so great. First of all, they offered such a reasonably priced airport shuttle, and it was located 7 minutes from Topkapi Palace by walk (which is a must see) and 10 to 15 minutes by walk to Haga Sophia and the Blue Mosque. All the main shopping,eateries sightseeing buses and tram were close too. The staff was bilingual (spoke English) and so polite and helpful on how to get around, what to see, and whatever you needed to know. The room was modern and very clean, The buffet breakfast was more than a full meal. It was in a quiet, peaceful section of Sultanhamet and you could see the sea from there. I would stay here again if I go to Istanbul again, They were so, so demonstrative of Turkish hospitality, and you got more than you paid for from this hotel.

Pleasant stay but lazy unfit people stay away

Really nice clean hotel, nice staff , nice room and w/c.
Very close to Blue mosque with decent resturants nearby. Favourite was a resturant called Rumist. Only downer was it was at bottom of a short steep hill so wouldnt favour people with walking difficulties or lazy inactive people.

Istanbul/Sultanhamet isnt for the inactive people anyhow so doesnt matter about the hill.
Best to use cheap tram system and to get to places such as Galata tower, bosporous river and Grand Bazar. Topcapi palace, Arch museum, Cistern, Hagia Sofia and Blue mosque within a 8-10 min walks.
We did the excursions without the tour guides, works out cheaper and ypu can 'pay as you go'
Forget Taksi, waste of time.

Yusuf Pasa hotel in Istanbul close to attractions

if your main interest is seeing the sights in istanbul, this is a great location- couple of blocks from sultanahmet square where the Blue Mosque and St Sophia museum and Topkapi palace are located. this square is also the starting point for local tour buses. also the tram line passes thru this square. its also close to the coast road (Kennedy). streets are difficult to navigate since there are so many little streets so i used the coast road as my landmark then i could find my way back to the hotel easily. there is a train station nearby as well. there is a famous seafood restaurant right next door so one can ask locals for direction using this restaurant as a landmark as well. so altho very convenient location, there is also a bit of noise from all this. esp the train and the restaurant (outside seating). not too loud but still there.
there is a computer with internet for use of guests (free) which worked well. breakfast was included in my rate and was really good - lots of veggies, fruit, juices, cheese, breads, cereals, dessert, yoghurt, etc. also free coffee and tea all day in the lobby. i had a room on the 4th floor with a view of the sea and it was fabulous at night.
Staff were very friendly and helpful (the girl at the reception was very patient but wasnt very knowledgeable about places and how to get around (student). Only the 2 reception staff (day and night) spoke english. they answered calls promptly, responded to my emails (before arriving there) promptly. if there was a problem in the room someone was sent up almost immediately to look into it. walls are thin so i could hear talking in the room next to me and they were coming and going all hours of the night! noises even from the bathroom. rooms are small and too much furniture crammed into it. i asked them to remove a chair so i could use the space for my suitcase. lots of closet space but very narrow spaces to move around. bathroom was clean and modern fixtures and was quite big (deluxe room) and water pressure was great. this particular bathroom was in the \"traditional\" - a ceramic bowl for water to use with a dish to pour water over yourself but it had a shower as well - a bit inconvenient cos it makes a mess on the floor but the staff will clean it up when you're out anyway. all linen were white and good quality (altho they dont change the bedsheets or pillow covers if youre staying there 3-4 nights). good quality toiletries. large towels with a towel warming rack. thick curtain to block out the sun (for those of us sensitive to light!). tv had only a couple of basic channels (news) in english.
all in all, it was worth the money.

An excellent location for sight seeing, being within easy walking distance of Topkapi Palace museum, Blue Mosque, and most of the must see locations in Istanbul.
Hotel staff friendly and prepared to help with touristy needs, booking trips etc.
Breakfast adequate but not exceptional and a small problem with noisy plumbing lost marks in the first two categories, otherwise a very good value venue.

I had an incredibly good experience in Istanbul, and fully recommend this hotel. It is close to all of the major sights, and the staff was wonderful.

A lovely hotel close to all the sights

Excellent location within easy walking distance of Aya Sofya, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi. A good fish restaurant just next door but many others nearby. Hotel staff very friendly. Breakfast very good too. The cockerels nearby are a bit noisy, as other reviews say, but this is a very minor.

We stayed in the hotel late October 2011. The location of the hotel was excellent, we could easily walk to the 'Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia'. Getting public transport was also very easy.
The view from our Hotel room was stunning.
Our only compliant was that our room was COLD, the weather in Istanbul in October is around 10, at night it was cold, because our room had lots of windows (hence the beautiful view) it was cold. There was an air condition unit, that could be used to heat the room, but this was not enough.
The breakfast was adequate offering hot and cold choices.
The staff were very helpful, arranging car hire for us translating conditions of hire. Advising on public transport and places to visit.
We really enjoyed our visit. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Yusuf Pasa Konagi - in heart of Sultanahmet

Room was comfortable, beds firm, flat-screen TV, bathroom small but adequate, maintenance (dripping air-conditioner, noisy bathroom door, boken shower hose) lacking. Buffet breakfast choice except bread (wholewheat bread tasted like it had been frozen) o.k, but waiters not very interested in replenishing items. Receptionists variable, some with good English and some not understanding well. Hotel is well-located for Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and other monuments around Sultanahmet Square, but it is a 15-minute uphill walk to the tram to get to other parts of the city.

Friendly, good value hotel close to attractions

We enjoyed our stay at this friendly, well located hotel close to the Top Kapi Palace and other attractions. Rooms are comfortable and clean with good amenities, but a little more storage space would have been welcome. Good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff very helpful.

It's a pitty but the restorant on the roof was reconstructed into new rooms and you cann't see Bosfor at your breakfast.

Hotel had charm and an excellent location walking distance to all sights we wanted to see. Staff pleasant and helpful. Could hear the trains but windows double glazing helped. Would not recommend the fish restaurant next door (not connected to hotel). Hotel breakfasts were varied and satisfying.

A lovely little hotel in a great location

The Yusuf Pasa Konagi is a lovely little hotel, built in the style of traditional wooden houses, just down the hill from Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The rooms were clean and comfortable though the room I had was on the small side: it would definitely be cramped if there were two of you.

Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly, and happy to arrange transport or make recommendations if asked. Breakfast in the rooftop restaurant overlooking the Bosphorus was a great start to each day.

I shall definitely be returning.

Depsite the less than average hotel services, the location makes it up, it is a minute walk to Sultan Ahmet Camii, Aga Sofia and the Cistern. Restaurants and shops are also available around. The Bazaar is not far as well. Again it is just a great location...

Excellent - enjoyed staying here

Hotels in the SultanAhmet area, where this hotel is located, can be quite noisy. This is because many of them have created noisy bars downstairs where people drink late into the night. Also the rooms tend to be quite small.

This hotel is on a quiet road with no noisy bars so you can get a decent nights sleep. The rooms are a good size and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the Aya Sofya basilica.

Un bon petit déjeuner mais le deuxième jour lundi le 14/10/2024 Celui qui est responsable de servir le petit déjeuner était très méchant ( il ne renouvelle pas ce aui manque pas de thé.il a débrancher la machine a café.pas de fruit ni rien ) franchement il est entrain de salir la réputation de hôtel

Oteli google yorumlara ve diğer değerlendirmelere göre buldum.Konumu itibariyle çok güzel bir yerde bulunuyor.Kendi arabasıyla gelmeyenler de toplu taşımaya yakınlığı dolasıyla istedikleri yere çok rahat ulaşabilirler.Hizmet ve temizlik iyi diyebilirim.Otelin işleyişi, tertibi güzeldi.Çalışanların ilgi ve alakası iyiydi.Güleryüzlü bir ekip var.Sabah kahvaltısı da çeşit anlamında iyiydi.Yemekler lezzetliydi.Oteli genel anlamda başarılı buldum.Yine konaklamak isterim.Ben de çok güzel bir izlenim bıraktı.Memnun kaldığım için de herkese tavsiye ediyorum.
