The hotel is a small boutique hotel and our room had lots of charm. The hotel owners were very nice and hospitable. They helped organize airport transfers. This hotel is located in the hear of the old city near bazaars and all the main mosque sites. It was wonderful waking up and sitting on balcony drinking a coffee and looking at the water and sunrise.

This hotel is a gem: friendly staff, great service, awesome location. We stayed in the exclusive suite, which has to be one of the best rooms in the city. Absolutely stunning.

Disappointed.

Pros - Amazing view. Location walkable to mosques and bazaar. Restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Good aircon but struggles to cool the room down when very hot.

Cons - Poor hygiene/cleaning and lacking attention to detail. When we arrived, the bathroom had building debris left from electric work done during the day. The room itself was not properly cleaned during our stay. Did not use the jacuzzi as there was hair left in the plug from previous guest, and this was not removed even during our stay. Fridge was leaking some liquid, this was raised but ignored.
There was a strong sewer smell in bathroom.
Becomes massive hot box during the day without constant aircon.

Overall not worth the price paid. Sadly could be an amazing place to stay if cleaned properly.

My biggest complaint with this property is cleanliness. our room was so insanely dusty. there was old hair in the shower and our coffee machine was covered in dust .fridge smelled off aswell. they also didnt book our return transfer and we were rushing to find a cab last minute. the front desk people were nice but cant say i recommend staying here. location was amazing though

Adorable hotel

Very cute hotel. Check in and out was fast and friendly. No lift in case anyone is bringing a lot of luggage. Great bath products. Awesome location. Would reccomend they have bigger bath towels. More power outlets would be nice but probably difficult in renovated heritage homes...

This hotel felt incredibly homely and comfortable. It was well located close to restaurants and both the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, yet it was very quiet and peaceful. The room was light and airy and immaculately clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstandingly good in terms of quality and choice.

great location. old hotel with terrible beds and bedding. very tough beds they are as soft as rocks. the service was good and the local area is good but will not stay in this hotel again. it is a 4 or 5 not an 8 even by european standards.

A hotel that lives up to its name.

We stayed in room 302- the third floor 'suite'. It is one very spacious room plus bathroom. It has superb views of the Golden Horn and Bosphorus from the Windows/balcony doors that stretch along one wall. The decoration and furniture are baroque- perhaps too fussy for some, though we liked it. The breakfast is simple though adequate, but the breakfast room enjoys fabulous views of the sea.
Overall, a very pleasant experience. It is perfectly situated for all the major sites of Sultanahmet.

Quaint little hotel

Large and spacious room and bathroom. Friendly staff who helped with the luggage and taxi bookings. Hotel interior is nicely decorated with paintings and furnishings. Located in a safe area close to the Arasta Bazaar. The only downside was the free buffet breakfast. It was the worst we've encountered during our travels in Turkey. The bread and the biscuits were stale and the fruits/vegetables were not fresh. The boiled eggs had seen better times. The coffee tasted awful. Even a young Turkish couple who were having breakfast stated that the milk had gone bad and food should be much better than this.

Kings of Hospitality!

I am extremely glad that I booked a room in this hotel.
It was an absolute blessing to have the staff regularly helping us with our silly questions about Istanbul including planning routes to hot tourist destinations in Istanbul. The receptionists were totally out of the world! They were like angels! Our check-in time was at 13:30. But we landed in Istanbul at 0430. We didn't expect to go to the hotel soon, instead we thought we'd roam around Istanbul till 1330 with our little carry bags and then go to the hotel when it was check-in time. But they contacted us early asking for our itineraries and arranged airport transfer service and agreed to take care of our luggage till check in time so that we could go around the beautiful city till then.
In fact we woke the receptionist up so early when we reached there and he even offered to make us coffee which we politely rejected as we were already guilty of disturbing his sleep.
We stayed there for 4 days (3 nights). The receptionist also helped me organize a surprise b'day treat for my wife, he got things (cake, candles and drinks) set up when we were out so that my wife could be delighted when we got back! And it worked perfectly. They make up the room everyday. So you never feel like you have been there for too long.
The location is also great!
Complimentary Turkish breakfast is also provided at the terrace cafe.

Great staff, pleasant hotel, nicely romantic

The staff were excellent and very accomodating! I did not feel I was staying within a hotel at all but more someones home to which I had a rather luxurious yet small guest room.

The facilities were good and in working order, good clean room. I would recommend it for couples.

Outside the front it is very quaint and welcoming, you could believe for a second you might be in a parisian back street and even more so when you enter the hotel.

The only let down is that the view to the ocean from the rear of the hotel is not as pleasant as the front however dont let this put you off a very good hotel, perfectly situated by good restaurants and within 5 mins of absolutely all the main attractions you would be likely to see and a metro stop to the rest.

Perfect for the weekend and I would go again.

Great hotel, great location

Stayed in the suite on the 3rd floor. Had a nice balcony with an amazing view. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, hotel is charming and in a great location in old Istanbul. Walking distance to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and a lot of small cafes and restaurants. Breakfast is nice as well on the top terrace. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future.

See Istanbul history easily

Two nights in Istanbul wanted to be close to popular sights and have some comfort whilst there. Romantic Hotel appeared best of those on offer and as we were beginning a wedding anniversary holiday, seemed to add a nice twist in the experience. It was. Breakfast on the roof terrace with views of the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus added to a good stay though breakfast is not the largest buffet you will see - but this a small hotel. Very well decorated and our room at the top with a balcony window met the 'romantic' description well. Close to good restaurants in a nice cobblestone area right next to main sights.

There are communication and attitude problems at this hotel. E-mails were not completely responded to and responses were garbled. The staff were listless. The front desk clerk aggressivly pushed booking certain tours and restaurants and took offense when suggestions were declined. There are no views from the second floor rooms as claimed unless the view across the street to the other hotel is a view. There is a fabuluous view from the roof terrace but it is enclosed with plastic panels that make it suffocating in warm weather. Our \"family room\" for three was tiny with little room for suitcases. This could be a pleasant small hotel but not with the way it is operated today.

Unbelievably charming

I couldn't say enough good things about this boutique hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and the view from my room was drop dead gorgeous. Highly recommended. It's located in a beautiful and romantic neighborhood, near everything you need to see in Istanbul, all within walking distance. The room was small but nicely laid out and decorated. The bed was comfy. Everything was super clean. The price per night very reasonable. A real home run!

Convenient and pleasant

Our original room was small but very pleasant and with a balcony and water view. It was close to the train tracks, but relatively quiet at night. We were upgraded to a lovely large suite on the top floor for our last night, with a terrace and water view. The self-service breakfasts on the rooftop restaurant were pleasant. The location was extremely convenient. The manager and hotel personnel were friendly and helpful.

Welcoming and close to everything

We had a great time - enjoyed breakfast and watched the sun set on the roof top terrrace. Erdal and staff were obliging in every way. While our room was small the experience was great. The history and experience of Istanbul was at our doorstep and restaurants were a stone's throw away.

Wonderful staff

This hotel is in a fabulous location and the staff couldn't be more helpful. This is not a fancy hotel, but should not be discounted in any way. There is a roof top restaurant where free breakfast is served while you overlook the Blue Mosque.

The staff is nice , breakfast was good. The rooms are extreamly small no room for luggage, the bed is uncomfortable, noisy air condition, no elevator, very old building, internet don't work in room. Hotel shuttel was more expensive than the regular taxi. If I go back I will never stay in this Hotel.

The location is wonderful, only

The location is wonderful, only 2 blocks away from the Blue Mosque. The frontdesk guy who worked during the night shift would lock the front door and get some sleep. So if you arrived at the hotel late (11ish), it would be already closed and you would have to wait several minutes til he woke up to open the door for you. The rest of the staff was extremely friendly and they were always asking if you needed anything. Overall I liked it.

We stayed at the Romantic Hotel for four days. The staff service was very good. The breakfast was excellent. The location was superb as it is located near the Sultanahmet area. The hotel rooms are small, but we had a terrace with outstanding views.

Die Sauberkeit war nicht so gut und unser Bett war kaputt. Das Hotel hat eine Zeit sehr stark nach Putzmittel gerochen. Das Personal war aber sehr nett und freundlich.

Tolles kleines Hotel und sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Zimmer war im guten Zustand, die Aussicht fantastisch (303). Man liegt sehr zentral wenn man shoppen will. Die Restaurants direkt daneben sind preislich etwas hoch aber sehr gut.
Wir werden uns wieder für dieses Hotel entscheiden wenn wir nach Istanbul kommen. Daumen hoch von uns.

Ficamos no quarto da cobertura, o qual é excelente.. mas pagamos caro pelo quarto e o restante do hotel não condiz com o valor pago. Café da manhã simples num local apertado. Ótima localização.
