Avoid like the plague

The hotel is run down and filthy. The beds are hard and the sheets are so dry and scratchy. It was the worst stay I’ve ever had. We checked out early because the conditions were so bad and they refused to refund us for the nights we weren’t staying. Even though I booked a refundable room. It’s a bad hotel. Location is okay. Close to the main attractions. But the room was so bad it was terrible. We moved across town and it was much better.

Excellent location walking distance to mosques, historical sites, shopping and dining. Rooftop bar is basic but has amazing views. Front desk staff were extremely helpful in advice, booking a turkish bath for us, and changing our room when the AC was making a lot of noise. Very happy with our choice!

It was the best location and only 2min walk to the blue mosque and everything else. Staff was friendly however never really gave any good recommendations for anything and push to sell packages they promoted in the hotel which isn’t right as those packages are overpriced in euros. Also the room was cleaned everyday by the cleaners who never changed the sheets over the 5days we stayed. Lastly walls are super thin and we could there Lot if noise from the corridor at 3/4am At night

Amazing view! We had the suite on the top floor and it was very peaceful and beautiful with a view of the mosque on one side and a view of the sea on the other. Great value for the price. Service was excellent. Only complaint is the internet was very slow and at times unusable from our room. It was better from the lobby.

This property looks very different in real life then in photos
The breakfast was not refiled, same breakfast everyday.
If you sit outside to have breakfast its surrounded by cats.
The bedroom is very small, the room lights are so bad. Very dimmed.
The wood from edge of the roof fell on my leg and all they did was say sorry.
I am so disappointed, I will never stay here.

We booked the suite- the largest room in the hotel, the view from the room was nice but we felt isolated from the hotel as the suite was on the roof next to the terrace and the bar. The service was okay, but one day we had to sleep without enough blankets because the cleaning stuff took our blankets and the reception mentioned that they don’t have any blankets left !
We struggled with the shower but they repaired within two days. Apart from that we got what we asked for within few minutes like water etc...
The hotel is located on a very sharp uphill and is far from Sultanahmet tram station.
Receptionists are so nice and helpful, they speak good English.
Overall, we fairly enjoyed our stay here.

We really liked the location and breakfast of Antis Hotel. The staff, with the exception of one of the younger night desk men, were exceptional. The rooms were cute and stylish but weren't exceptionally clean. However, you need to factor in the return on investment, and this place has it. It is in walking distance from all the things you want to see...and it's less than five minutes. Overall, my family was very happy with their stay and we would stay here again in the future.

I must say that I had a lovely holiday.
All the staff were exceptionally helpful and took great care of all our needs.
The only issue is that the hotel like several in the area is on an incline and there are issues with traffic.
This would not however stand in the way of my staying at this location again.

Our time at the delightfil Antis Hotel

All the staff were extremely polite, helpful and accommodating. They did their best to make our 9 days stay very comfortable. The 3 concierges were professional and always went the extra mile to assist us.
The wifi options on all floors was definitely a plus.

Whilst our bedding and towels were changed daily, it would have been great if our room had been swept and dusted as well.

I wish they would replace the orange squash served at breakfast with fresh fruit juices. They should also consider adding some fresh fruits.

The bar in the lobby and the rooftop terrace are under utilised. My son was upset when he was asked to leave the rooftop terrace where he was relaxing and enjoying fresh air on our last night.

We felt very safe in the hotel though, and would recommend it.

I never come back to this hotel . It is nothing like to the photos. So poor service. First night the air conditioner was not working slept in hot all night sweating. The room not clean at all . The bedding full of stains . I will not advice this hotel to anyone . With all respect true opinion.

The only problem I had was with laundry, thinking that the prices were in lira, but they claimed, when I got the laundry back that it was in Euros! It seemed like a scam; why would the prices be in Euros, and who would pay 6 euros to wash a T-shirt? They generously \"discounted\" the inflated price to the lira amount. Be warned!

The hotel is old but it is clean. For the price paid and to be so close to main sights in Istanbul, the hotel was good. The heating worked really well, needed to open a window, and water was hot. Beds were clean but a bit firm for my liking. Breakfast was very good, had a nice variety, and it was included in price. WiFi great. So if you're on a budget and visiting for history, culture and want to be close to sights, this is a good place to stay. If you want a romantic get away, I do not recommend this hotel.

Had a fantastic trip to Istanbul. Everything from expedia was just fab. Flight on time, quick transfers to and from airport and very good hotel. Hotel had evrything you need. Good size room and bed. Poor communication between ebookers and hotel

The scores would be higher only: the hotel website states all rooms are inclusive of breakfast, I had this confirmed by ebookers on a live chat. On arriving they told me that breakfast isn't included and required €7 for coffee bread, cheese and cold meat. I tried to email ebookers 3 times on two different support addresses and all were returned with server faults. Hotel would not contact ebooker either. Not a happy guest. Will not be using on my return trip. I would still like a response from ebookers. David

Lovely hotel, great base for exploring Istanbul

Great location, only a 4-5 mins from Blue Mosque and near many restaurants, but not in a noisy location. Our room was spotless and very tastefully decorated with a great shower, just what you need after a day of exploring the city. The terrace had lovely view of the Blue Mosque and across the Bosphorous. Breakfast selection wasn't amazing, but the coffee was nice and the bread was amazingly fresh. All the staff were lovely and very welcoming.

Nice hotel with great staff. A lot of the reviews are not lying though. The train is incredibly loud, and the house keepers started working promptly at 7am. We stayed in the top floor suite, and that is the only room I would recommend. Otherwise you will not get any peace or quiet.

The hotel allowed us an early check in which was awesome and then also told us we could also have breakfast! The staff were very helpful with directions and facilitating in excursions. The room although small was clean and was equipped with everything one would need. The location was amazing - only a few minutes walk away from the Blue Mosque, The Hagia Sophia and many restaurants.

An excellent choice near all old city sights!

I had a nicely furnished room with a view across the Bosphorus Sea. The included breakfast was very good; the front desk was very helpful; and housekeeping was excellent. It's a very short and pleasant walk past good restaurants to the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia and Topkapi Palace. The Antis Hotel is a great choice!

Great hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet

Great hotel close to the main sights of Istanbul. Old city of Sultanahmet is the best place to get a feel of the real Istanbul. Even with the unexpected snow storms the place was still going strong for New years Eve celebrations. Everything is walkable distance. You can walk to Hagia Sofia, the blue Mosque and even to the sea. The metro is also nearby if you want to venture further.

Not a total disaster, but dangerously close!

Stayed here for 3 nights, and overall was not happy at all. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, until some major changes are made.

- Staff: Not bad. They tried to help, but the attitude was not pleasant. Reluctant to help out with issues.
- Hotel: VERY VERY noisy. There is absolutely no privacy. If next door someone is talking on the phone, I could hear everything. It is right next to the railroad too! So trains go by at all hours and it's very annoying.
- Room: Upon entry, three lightbulbs were burned out (this was a Deluxe room, mind you). Hotel staff changed 2 of them, but the third, they did not. Rooms are small, and as I said very noisy. Bed is ridiculously small for a King size bed.
- Breakfast: OK at best. Very limited fruit selection and bad quality at that.

Overall: Stay away from here if you're looking for a relaxing, noise-less, pleasant experience. Honestly, the train noise and sounds from other rooms will drive you mad.

close proximity to everything! walking distance to great shops and restaurants! quick walk to the tram station as well. the staff was 5 stars!!!! i wanted to get a turkish bath and was telling the young gentleman that was working the front desk that it was too expensive but he made some calls and even had transportation pick me up for a cheap price! He saved me more than half the price! I would definitely recommend this hotel. The only thing was the bed was too small so next time i will upgrade to larger room/bed! Oh, and the rooftop terrace had beautiful views of the blue mosque as well as the waters!

I loved all the staff. They were so kind and helpful and went out of their way to make our holiday delightful. The rooms were very clean, and the hotel is very close to the tourist centre without being too close to the gift shops. Simple and quiet hotel in convenient location

We had a nice experience as a couple in Istanbul. The hotel is situated on a slope in the back streets of Sultanahmet area about 6-7 minute (leisurely) walk from the Blue Mosque. The hotel was simple; the rooms were Ok ( I think e probably had a small room) and clean. The staff were courteous and polite and quick to respond to our requests. The air conditioning was good! We needed it for the warm nights (and days). About 3-4 minute walk away from the hotel was Kennedy Street which is right by the water with beautiful views of the Bosporus sea. We had lovely views of the Blue Mosque when we went up to the roof top to relax in the evening and enjoy a cool drink.

Loved my tour to Idtanbul. Had no problem with my reservations. Hotel was ok, staff was friendly. The hotel location worked out to be the best. Tram link, restaurants and many major landmarks are at walking distance (5-15 mins). You can also satisfy your appetite of shopping if you want it. Overall all went flawless and had an amazing experience.

Nice place to stay but be careful...

We stayed in this hotel due to being close to all the attractions in old Istanbul (Sultanahmit). Price is reasonable but beware not to use the mini bar from the room or ask hotel to book airport transfer as it will cost you a bomb.

Otherwise, Istanbul is must place to visit. it is truly combination of east and west civilisation. Lots of walking but worth it. Food is cheap and nice. Make sure to try local Turkish food, especially Testi Kebab and Doner Kebab.

Also, try Night cruise Bosphorus sea boat trip. worth the money

Take some lira with you but exchange the rest in Turkey for good rate.

Careful of doggy carpet seller and book your trips from reputable travel shops. Do not buy anything from passer-by person selling from trips to carpets to everything.

Have a nice trip.

My wife and I arrived at Antis hotel for a small city break. Very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic breakfast choice abs fantastic view of the Blue Mosque from the hotel terrace. The room was fine, we arrived with a small shower fault which was fixed straight away by hotel staff. Not the comfiest of beds but, wasn't terrible. Lovely hotel within walking distance of all main attractions. Will definitely be back.

Noise

The hotel staff were helpful and spoke good English. The breakfast was OK, if a little limited in terms of fruit but good. The room was a little noisy, could actually her the flush from the room next door.

Excellent location, great stay.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and it is always a great experience. The location is great and close to everything. The staff is wonderful and very helpful.

Nice location

Hotel is clean. Service and breakfast are nice. Location is very convenient. Within walking distance to most attractions, many restaurants and shops. Some staff at hotel can not speak English. Room is a little small.

Istanbul break with a friend

The hotel provided everything that we needed - a warm welcome, comfortable and clean room, good breakfast and a roof terrace with a spectacular view. The staff were very friendly and helpful - my friend's bag didn't make it to Istanbul with us and when we asked if we could use their phone at reception to phone the airport lost luggage office they did this all for us to make life easier. The room had everything that we needed and when the shower head started leaking they changed this without us even mentioning it. The selection at breakfast catered for most tastes and we looked forward to breakfast every morning. Overall a great place for a long break (we stayed four nights).

The staff were exceptional. They were very friendly and could not do enough to help. Sorted out some good tours for us and managed to change the time of a ticket we had previously booked through Expedia.

A clean & comfortable place to stay

This was my second stay in this hotel. It is clean, comfortable place to park oneself. Walking distances to major attractions. Ersin at reception was especially helpful. It is a clean, no frills option.

Good support staff, Rooms1Star at best

We had two adjacent very small rooms. Front desk staff is courteous and try their best to sell you tour deals from the get go. Prices are cleverly noted in Euros on the menu instead of Turkish Lira. Noise-proofing appears non existent. Bring ear plugs. When I complained about broken bed spring and resultant hole in the bed the very first night, the attendant accused me of sitting on the bed heavily and declined to do anything about it, declaring on my face that the bed was ' perfect'?? I slept on a broken spring bed for 6 nights. Room was NOT vacuumed during my stay. Shower stall routinely water clogged, had to wait during showers to let it slowly drain. Good breakfast. 4star rating!! That is a joke! Expedia take this hotel off your ranking, if at all , give one star rating. I am not sure what drives your rating?

Very good hotel in Sultanahmet

Very friendly and helpful staff; excellent breakfasts (no other meals, but snacks on request). The only thing I didn't expect is that it's on a very steep hill, which gave me some difficulty (sticks/wheelchair user) and also caused problems for cabs in snow. Others have commented that rooms can be noisy: they were very warm, even in Feb snow and with radiator off, and if the window's ajar you can hear the whir of CH/AC motors. However, I'd say the location and the great staff make up for any quibbles about noise. There's also a wonderful restaurant immediately opposite: very cheap, good Turkish food, friendly owners.

Ideal location, beautiful decor, pleasant staff

The Antis is ideally located in the tourist area of Sultanahmet in Istanbul. It is close to an array of Turkish restaurants, traditional stores and antique shops and with a stunning view of the Blue Mosque.

It is a beautiful building with great facilities. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. From the beginning through to the end of our stay, we were made to feel very comfortable, our needs catered to and the staff went to every effort to ensure we made the most of our time in Istanbul.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and the hotel boasts excellent Wifi facilities.

The hotel is situated within a 10 minute walking distance of most of the local tourist attractions, including the Blue mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar.

I would not hesitate to stay at the Antis again and would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who wishes to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing stay in Istanbul.

Nice hotel, good location

It was a great stay for us! The location is very good, just a few minutes walk to any tourist attraction in Sultanahmet, and a few more to the Bazaar. Tram / bus station is a walking distance. The hotel provided free private parking at a location nearby.
