Loved the attention. They have a metro card that you can replenish if you want to move around the city center. The hotel is very close to everything. Do not take the Big Bus. Do use the tram or walk. Negotiate prices with shops. Enjoy local night life and the food! Turkish are very nice.

The hotel is in a very convenient location. Breakfast was really good. The room toilet had a very bad smell of a blocked drain. At times we were not able to enter the toilet because the smell was so strong. Beds were not at all comfortable. The mattresses had springs poking out.

Location was very central , with easy access to nearby sight seeing and also just around 10 mins walk to the tram station . You can enjoy going to Topcapi , Aya Sophia and Blue Masque , also you can treat your self with luxury Hurrem Sultan Hamam . Just to mention the old historic area around is really nice to enjoy your dinner with Turkish tea and hookah .
Staff was vert friendly, every single one of them and very helpful . breakfast was great , and we enjoy how they served us friendly . In lobby you can try excellent tea and provided at any time free of charge.
Don't hesitate to book it , it is really worth it :)
Just the only concern was the wifi connectivity that was a low in rooms ,

The location of the hotel was exemplary. In walking distance, 5 minutes north from the hotel was the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmet Square, from which other attractive sights such as the Grand Bazaar are easily accessible and local to. 5 Minutes south was the sea and the alluring views it entails. If you want a feel of the Istanbul transport, the Sultanhamet tram station is also a short walk away.

In addition, the hotel benefits profoundly from an array of restaurants within 100 meter radius, all with a distinct quality. The moment you step out of the hotel, on both sides of the street there are restuarants in abundance. Whether its fish with a street view, or a quick wrap on the go or lunch with a rooftop of Sultanahmet and the sea, you will find whatever you are after without having to walk for more than a minute.

In the hotel, the staff are faultless. Historia provides you with that cosy, homely and relaxed atmosphere.When it comes to assistance with excursions and activities, they are impeccable and on hand to assist with absolute anything. They sorted out transport and access to the Bosphorus tour and insisted we pay in our own time.

The hotel is exactly what one would desire when seeking accommodation in Istanbul. A comfortable and peaceful place to sleep throughout the night, a complimentary breakfast to provide an energy boost in the morning and a splendid location so that you are minutes away from the landmark sights that complete Istanbul's appeal.

The staff was great and very helpful. They always offered us coffee and refreshments and were always ready to answer all our questions. In addition, the location of the hotel is very convenient as it is close to many tourristic sites as well as to the Tram. We had the family room, it is a bit small and has basics only and seems a bit old but it was clean and suitable for us as we only used it to sleep and spent all day outside. The breakfast is simple and didn't have many options. As an overall experience, it was good and I would stay again in the hotel.

The staff were very friendly , the breakfast was excellent, location is lovely , would be better if family rooms that accommodate 4 people had a balcony with full sea view instead of buildings .Disappointingly the bathroom had a small vent on floor which constantly smelt of sewage . i mentioned the smell they said will be resolved ,Also bathroom was very narrow ,but other than that definitely recommended and will visit again.

The converted mansion has attentive staff and management. The are ready to help you arrange any detail of your exploration of Istanbul. The rooms are comfortable, and practical - a great value. The morning breakfast buffet is very good. Best of all, The location is excellent. Within a very short stroll to the Sultanahmet Square, it is strategically situated near the heart of Turkish art, history and culture. There are many reasonably priced restaurants nearby, and scores of meandering arcades with shops and stalls selling everything you might hope to find in the Grand Bazaar yet at even greater bargains. Every walk to the many cultural sites includes opportunities to find treasures at every turn. From Sultanahmet, there is easy access to the public metro network which provides inexpensive and efficient access to the entire city. I cannot imagine a more ideal base from which to partake of the adventures Istanbul has in store.

I usually don’t leave reviews here but the staff here aren’t it, every single one of them. Always ready to help with a smile, this is hospitality. The location, you just can’t beat, major historic sites are a short walk, five minutes to Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, etc. The only request I have for the hotel is to upgrade the room furniture and invest a bit in towels. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who can live without the luxury of a 5 start resort experience. When I travel I only use the hotel to sleep 😴 if I spend too much time in the hotel room, something else in the trip isn’t going well. Here it was good to sleep with a nice breakfast to start the long days. And ofcourse then there was cake and tea for a late afternoon stop. And again the staff made everything special, keep it up guys, you are the best and I am definetly sending folks your way.

My family (two young daughters) stayed here for four nights in July. The location is great - easy walking distance to all of the major sights. Very touristy area. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The room had everything we needed. It was quite small for four but expected as it is an old renovated home. They surprised us with a fruit basket. I recommend this Hotel as long as your expectations aren’t of a typical American chain hotel.

The room looks old, BUT the service is 5*

The room and furniture looks old; the matress is quite hard, the minibar selection is not the best and the room service is the food delivered only from one cafe (they don't cook food inside the hotel and do not offer food delivery from the many restaurants nearby), BUT the service is outstanding as the staff tries their best to please their customers. They are all polite, customer-oriented and friendly. I will come back if have to travel back to Istanbul.

We'd stay here again!

We chose this hotel for location and price. It's walking distance from the major sites in the old town; also is next to a street with a dozen or more restaurants open for lunch and dinner. A fresh Turkish breakfast (eggs, meats, yogurt, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, simit and other breads, coffee/tea) is included; service was excellent, from the front desk people who were very generous with information, tips, and a card for the tram to which we easily added more cash; to the delightful Cetin who commandeers the breakfast and kitchen. The staff works hard to keep the hotel and rooms clean. The kids enjoyed the many cats and kittens who showed up at the windows during breakfast. The cotton sheets and comforters were excellent; there were plenty of pillows; the shower was small but adequate. What the hotel lacks in aesthetics (primarily due to the historic nature of the building and surrounding area), more than makes up it for with charming staff, great location, super price, and a decent breakfast. It was helpful for our fam of 5 to have rooms with 3 beds. Two rooms worked well for us.

Very old building with no isolation of air coming into the building. The breakfast doesn't have varieties of food at all. The served food does not go beyond boiled eggs, cheese and jam w/ bread ..etc every day. Beverages are low quality tea, coffee and artificial orange flavoured drink. Not as expected at all.

as soon we got in, the staff was really helpful and friendly. the hotel has a perfect location, 1 street away from the blue mosque. we stayed in a balcony bedroom with views to the sea, beautiful. All super clean. also good breakfast. Besides this, the staff still the best thing in the hotel, always with a smile, help us and toke time to answer all our questions. Feels like a 5 stars hotel with a price of a 2 star. drink a coffee in the lobby, is really good

Great location, very close to site-seeing areas, people at the front desk were really nice and helpful day and night shifts both. The hotel was clean but the building is older so it is not sound proof at all. It was hard to get a good night sleep due to noises from other rooms and outside.

Close to major attractions, great views

Alot of stores and restaurants. McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks, blue mosque etc and many more are all walking distance from the hotel. When visiting grand bazaar beware of a restaurant called nuruosmaniye kebap it is the worst ever! My kids and I got poisoned I think they gave us few day old rice because it was very hard and weird, the chicken wasn't cooked, it's filthy and hardly have anything and they even added extra items to the bill luckily I was warned to check my bill before paying by a friend, before going to turkey. My 2 year old was vomiting for three days straight and one year old had diahorrea the whole time. It was a nightmare we were all poisoned and on top of that overcharged. I despise them (nuruosmaniye kebap) near grand bazaar.

It was very nice, hotel staff friendly, the hotel is a little old but clean. They changed towels and fixed beds daily.
We expected a larger view for the room as it was entitled room with a view, but i was a view on one side. It was ok for us. It had a table and benches next to window, we liked it as we had snacks and driks sitting next to window.
Shuttle bus back to airport for 5 euros per person and it came on time.
Very close to centre. So we walked to hagia sophia and blue mosque and the tram of sultanahmet station. So very convenient location.

Clean and Friendly Place to stay!

The hotel was very close to the main attractions like Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya. Cleanliness was very good and we were well looked after by the hotel staff.
Breakfast was also fresh every morning and very filling.
The hotel staff helped us with any questions about attractions and gave good advice to us about what things are worth doing and what to look out for.

We were really pleased with the service we got and the only thing I can say which could have been better was on some days the wifi was not so strong.

Lovely hotel in Sultanahmet

Enjoyed my stay at the Historia Hotel. This was my first time traveling alone and the hotel staff made my first solo trip highly enjoyable. The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and helpful. I arrived very late and they were able to provide me with a late night/early am snack. They also helped arrange a guided tour which I really enjoyed and was a great value. They also arranged my transportation from and to the airport. The included breakfast was good. For a small hotel, I was impressed with the selections. I am not a huge breakfast person, so I am happy with coffee, eggs and toast. All of those were available. I had a room on the 6th floor and it was great for me. The room was cozy. Not very large but enough for one person or 2. The bathroom was small but clean. My room had a nice view, to the left a view of the sea and to the right the Blue Mosque. It was very warm and the in room air conditioning was great. For the price, this is a great hotel. The staff make this hotel a gem.

This hotel is located only 5 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Staff are excellent and very helpful. I had a balcony view of the town and breath taking sea. I can only say one bad thing about this hotel and that is its breakfast is basic water melon, grapes, salad, scramble egg, tea, coffee, orange juice, water, marble cake and toast. Maybe I'm too use to the luxury breakfast in Dubai. Apart from that I recommend staying here.

Brilliant Hotel in an Excellent Location

- The location of the hotel was perfect. From the hotel:
- Blue Mosque is a 2 minute walk with the Arasta Bazaar along the way.
- Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Ayasofya Hurrem Sultan Hamam (Turkish Bath) is 5 minutes.
- Basilica Cistern is 7 minutes.
- Ibrahim Pasha Palace, Hippodrome of Istanbul is about 5 minutes.
- Gulhan Park is about 12 minutes.
- Little Hagia Sophia is a 10 minute walk (there is also a good Turkish bath here too a further 5 minutes head).
- Grand Bazaar (with Spice Bazaar connected to it), Bayezid II Mosque, Nuruosmaniye Mosque about 20 to 25 minutes from the hotel.
- Approximately 30 minutes from Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

- All members of staff were friendly and willing to help whenever asked of them. They were always on hand to help with anything within the hotel and also provided great assistance when we asked for information and directions for locations to visit.

- Breakfast was good with a variety of options. The indoor area was nice and clean along with a beautiful outdoor garden in which to eat too.

- Nice, clean and comfortable rooms with good amount of space. Hotel was situated in a quiet area, never had any problems with noise and always had a good sleep.

- Overall, would recommend this hotel to anyone and will come back here when i visit Istanbul again in the future.

Super cute tiny hotel in the middle of the old city. Very quiet street, nice rooftop terraces with a view for the rooms on the last floor.
Breakfast is served on a really nice terrace.
Shower was not powerful enough though.

fantastic location and staff, great little hotel!

Excellent location, only about a 2minute walk to the blue mosque. Great views over the old town and to the sea. Very friendly and helpful staff. I was recommended this place by a friend who had stayed there and I would absolutely recommend to friends as well. A fantastic little place, I very much enjoyed my stay!! Some great shopping on the same street as the hotel and some great options to eat.

great location

the location was the best , right next to the blue mosque and fun restaurants and shopping and short walking distance to the sea.The staff was outstandingly friendly and helpful and recommended me a great restaurant and told where not to go.
The room was tiny , but i could not complain about that for the great price.I will stay there again on my next trip to Istanbul .
Highly recommend it !

Great Hotel right by the main tourist spots!!

Let me be detailed:
1) Location: You cannot beat the location as it is a direct 2 min walk to all the tourist attractions in the Old City.

2) Price: I went in the off season so the price was very reasonable. Booking in advance might help find a cheaper room

3) Hotel Staff: Haluk, the manager is the nicest person you will meet! He was extremely polite and always spoke to me every day making sure my stay was good and giving me advice about the city. All the other staff mirror him!

4: Room: The Room was clean and comfortable. Not too spacious but served its purpose for a good nights rest!
The sea room views are probably nicer and bigger. Book depending on the number of people traveling.

All in all, this was the most pleasant stay I've had in a while and most of it is attributed to the manager (Haluk) and his staff!!

Great location overlooking the Sea

The hotel was right in the middle of the SultanAhmet area and was a very short walk from the Hagia Sofia and adjacent Mosque. The Grand Bazaar was just a few minutes further on. The hotel staff were very helpful with everything and the breakfast was better than most places I've been. The downside for this room was the size of it and the bed was OK. The wall and door leading to the hallway are not very soundproof but between rooms we didn't hear anything. Had a balcony which was great.

Really nice hotel close to the Blue Mosque. The staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was included and was quite nice. The room was perfect and the hotel staff ensured we had a travel cot in there. Overall we would definitely stay at this hotel again when we return.

Nice hotel close to most historical places

I had 5D4N at historia hotel and everything were great. Well, if you are not prefer 5 stars facilities, I think this hotel could be your best choice. The staff services are great and friendly. I stayed in a room with a queen size bed, I'm able to place my medium size luggage on floor and have plenty of spaces. So, I think the room that I stayed is not too small.
Well about the toilet, is pretty old but the hot water is functioned. Personally, dislike the toilet but it was acceptable.
Breakfast is standard where serves bread, cheese, ham, and etc. ohh yah, it is very close to blue mosque, about 5-10 minutes walking distance from metro station (sultanahmed) to historia hotel.

Perfect little hotel in Old Istanbul

The warmest,friendliest welcome to Istanbul. Cute little hotel within walking distance of The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, and the Topkapi Palace. View of the sea. Shopping, restaurants. Rooms are clean (a little small) with all the amenities. Complete buffet breakfast. The staff was eager with information, directions, taxi arranging. And always with a smile.

Friendly and helpful. Really well located.

Just returned from 5 nights at the Historia with my mum and 2 children aged 4 and 7.

We stayed in a family room with 2 single and 1 double bed. It also had an en suite bathroom and a small area with a little table and 2 chairs. The room was clean and the beds comfy - not soft.

The staff were very nice - gave us tea and juice in the little lobby bar when we arrived, made us a packed lunch the morning we left because we were going so early we would miss the breakfast buffet, had a tram pass we could borrow etc.

Breakfast is a buffet and had something for everyone in our group - toast, eggs, cheese, salad and cake. Tea, coffee and juices.

Literally 5 mins walk from blue mosque and hagia Sofia. A few more to top kapi and the basilica cistern. Walkable to the tour boats and the bazaars.

Bathroom a bit scruffy- we had water leaking from somewhere but just put a towel down!

For the money, it was spot on.

Budget hotel close to main sights

This is a clean budget hotel within 5 minutes walk from the blue mosque and other historical sights . The staff are very friendly and very helpful. Good selection of restaurants and bars nearby. Some rooms are better than others and those on 5th and 6th floors seem better. We know this as we asked to move and got an upgrade with view of bosphorous for extra 15 euro a night. The sound proofing throughout is poor though and you can hear everything in adjacent rooms and corridors. Also improved ventilation to the bathrooms might help with the mould problems! ! And finally the beds were all really hard but that might be a Turkish thing.

Very warm hosts, close to almost everything

This was our (my wife and I) first trip with our two year old daughter. We were pretty wrecked about it. But Istanbul embraced us with all its hospitality, palaces, colours and fragrances! Historia is this nice little boutique hotel located right in the centre of the old town. It's so well located that we could easily walk to most of the major attractions in the Sultanahmet area i.e., Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern and the most significant of all - the Topkapi palace. We literally walked everywhere with our two year old - so, location wise it cannot get any better than this!

But what really made Historia special was the warm hospitality. Mr. Haluk, supported aptly by his staff Cercan, Osman, Cetin et. al. made us feel at home! Everything was so well done, right from picking us up from the airport, helping us out with tour details, booking tours, not minding our daughter's umpteen attempts to bring down their antique Turkish tea set, keeping us refreshed with unlimited supply of beverages at no cost - I can go on and on.

Will go back to Turkey again and if we happen to visit Istanbul, Historia is gonna be our abode!

Great location for historical sites of Istanbul.

Surprisingly quiet and we had view of the sea. Staff were exceptionally helpful and freely gave advice on trips etc. Hotel was clean but we thought on seeing two bedrooms they were tired needed redecoration ,and bathroom upgrade ie new tiles ,grouting mouldy and some damage. would recommend this hotel. Very generous on food ,drinks hospitality.

Good place to stay in Istanbul

I recommend this place to anyone who is a tourist to Istanbul. The staff were extremely courteous. Room was small but clean and great for budget travelers. The location is excellent with the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern just a step away.The Sultanahmet tram station is also closeby for travel to any location.

Amazing Staff

The staff were awesome. We were given Apple Tea on our arrival which the kids loved! All throughout our visit they were very accommodating and knowledgeable. Breakfast was wonderful. The room was a little small for my family, but again the staff was accommodating. They brought in an extra bed. We could almost turn around in our room with all of us in there! Still, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back. The location is perfect!

Great Location!

Super location and very quiet. Breakfast in the courtyard was very pleasant. Shower was excellent. The room was very small with little space for clothes, but considering the price this was fair enough.
