It's a good, clean and comfortable hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant /bar isn't open under the current circumstances (Covid), however the hotel is only 20min walk to the city centre.

German Multi Kulti - NOT FOR ME!

It was extremely challenging and stressful to get from the airport in Bremen to the hotel. Several taxi cab driver had various excuses why they could not do it - while I was sitting in the cold air at 11 PM they argued in whatever tongue. Finally I got a ride to the hotel and the cab driver told me \"they don't get enough of a cut\" so.... He was nice though and I thought I could finally lie down in the long awaited bed. Not so!
Even though the hotel was paid for I had to fill out a long form and sign this and that. Then the front desk person wanted money from me. What for? I asked. Some city tax. I knew I had some Euro Dollars in a wallet but did not know where that wallet was and did not want to break another bill. They are heavy the European coins! I asked if I could bring my suit case to the room first and then return with the requested amount. No she refused to let me go to my room. I was fed up and told her it would be good if I'd been informed ahead of time of this \"city tax\" She replied; \"The city just informed us 2 days ago!\" Oh I see. German order times 10 plus delay, it stinks! What stank even more was the drain and I mean not just a little.The \"black out curtains\" are too short on both sides and I used my sleep mask. The room was towards the parking lot which in itself was alright yet a real bother for me was the bright neon light attached to wall - on the entire night. On the +: Employee helped bring suitcase to room, employee at breakfast nice and helpful!

One night in Bremen

On the outside the hotel looks dilapidated, with dirty windows and neglected green areas. The street is run down too.
Inside, everything is outdated and worn out but it’s very clean. The room was also very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, polite and efficient.

In my case alI I needed was a short night by the airport, so it was acceptable. Otherwise this is a 2 star establishment, very dated, run down in the floors with stained walls and carpets. Bare minimum rooms, if you get rate that is is more than 90 Euro a nights, just spend a little extra and go somewhere else. The staff though was very positive and helpful, really the only highlight.

The interior of the hotel is showing its age, but the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the beds comfortable, and it's a great place to stay if you need to get to the airport for an early morning flight the next day.

Overpriced and Different than pictures

Very old rooms, and very different than pictures. Needs renovation. Not the typical TRYP Hotel.
Breakfast was Ok. Parking was good and free. Very close to the airport and might be a bit noisy the street.

Don’t get me wrong, the place was fine. Service was friendly, and location near the airport on a tram line was super convenient for going to a conference every day. A number of maintenance issues needed fixing in our room alone, the wifi became non functional at some times of day, and location near a hospital meant ambulance sirens blaring past 5+ times per day. Only minor annoyances really, but for the price I’ve had much better elsewhere.

Handy hotel to airport, city centre

Close to airport

My 3rd stay at this hotel , very nice clean and peacfull atmosphere.

Very comfy bed

Only a short stay as I stay for one night (and had to leave hotel at 5am).
After dropping my car at the airport the night before I decided to walk to hotel but it took 20 minutes. So I wouldn't say it is a short walk. In the morning reception ordered a taxi as didn't want to walk in the dark. Bed was very comfortable, room is very small but for one person enough.

Very nice hotel

From check in to check out, customer service was great. Traffic outside the window was quite loud, but it didn't detract from the well-sized room. Shower room was small, but functional and clean. Hotel was ideally situated for the city - whether by tram (10-20 minutes) or walking (20-30 minutes) - and the airport (5-10 minutes by tram, 15-25 walking). Would stay again!

I booked this hotel for my son to stay one night near the airport and he was really pleased with the hotel. The room was very comfortable and the service was excellent. I had previously contacted the hotel to check whether there was a shuttle service from the airport and they offered to arrange a taxi for him. I was very pleased with the upfront communication and response.

Convenient to airport but not clean hotel

It was okay for what I paid. But the room was very not clean. Lots of other people's hair was on the floor and my sheets had a lot of lint/hair on them.. the \"airport shuttle\" service is false advertising. They put me in a taxi that ended up costing 9 euros to get me to the airport that was very close.the front desk told me my ride would be 5 euros flat..

Does what it says on the tin

For a visit to Bremen for the Christmas Markets and peak at this ancient city's old town
this hotel was reasonably priced with good basic facilities and a brilliant location on the
No.6 tram line between the town and airport. The hotel is three stops from the airport and
about the same straight into the Town Square - no changes. Tea and coffee in the room and
TV with BBC World. Reception were very helpful and no problem with English if your language
is a little rusty. Recommended.

Twin beds instead of double - said they were fully booked & couldn't change. Would have preferred to know in advance. NO KETTLE - gobsmacked! Politely asked if we could borrow one & they brought one, plus mugs & teaspoons to the door within the hour as promised. Very clean room. Vending machines for drinks & snacks. Friendly, pleasant & polite staff. Not perhaps as multi-lingual as we were led to believe but whose fault is that? All in all an excellent value-for-money stay. The WiFi connection ( free ) was fab too. Would be more than happy to stay here again. Be aware though that the restaurant is shut Sunday & Monday & there's nowhere very close to eat.

Fantastic hotel for price - Good value for money!
Perfectly located just 10 minutes from the Airport by Tram & 10 minutes from Bremen centre by Tram, where you will find fantastic shopping & restaurants.
We stayed in a Premium/Business Room on a Room Only Basis.
If you rely on WiFi this is not the hotel for you - Seems odd that the Premium/Business rooms are on the upper floors where the 'FREE' WiFi was un-connectable?!
Room was a fantastic size & was a nice contemporary design. The beds were large and comfortable, although extra pillows would have been nice. The general cleanliness was good although the floor was dusty behind the armchairs & table.
Bathroom (Shower not Bath) was tired & poky given the size of the accommodation.
Nice to have complimentary refreshment, however instructions on how to use the coffee machine would have been helpful!
Just A Tip - Check the radiators! Our first night was spent with us all being unbelievably uncomfortable because the room was so hot! We opened the windows (very noisy main road outside) & the following day checked & all the radiators were on the highest setting!

The hotel at first sight looks like an old army building and the rooms are somewhat outdated but then again I went to Germany for history so I suppose it started right when I got to the hotel. The hotel is located right next to a tram which takes you right to the city center within 5 min and the staff were exceptional however, the first room I checked into had bed bugs as did the second. I ended up staying at a different hotel for over 4 days until the issue was handled. Management made no attempt to compensate me even after the employee came and looked at the room and verified the problem, The bed bugs were so bad you could see them even with lights on all over the white sheets.

The desk staff were not friendly and welcoming at all. We got confusing information when we asked about getting a takeaway breakfast on our last day (we had a 5am flight). The first person we asked said that we would have to pay extra for having a takeaway breakfast, even though breakfast was included in our room rate. This was after we had to wait quite a long while for her to finish a telephone conversation which she started just as we approached the desk. While we were waiting there was no eye contact or smile that would indicate that she would be with us shortly. On the second evening, the lady behind the counter was significantly friendlier, so we asked again about the breakfast. This time she said that it won't be a problem at all and that she would arrange for it. She also mentioned there would be coffee at the front desk in the early morning as well. On our final morning, there wasn't coffee and, needless to say, the takeaway breakfast was also non-existent. My wife is pregnant and she was really in need of something to eat at that early hour.
Their facilities are not bad and the rooms are fairly comfortable. But I suppose the low price indicates poor service. There is also a lingering smell of smoke in the hallways and I heard another person complain that their room also smelled of smoke.

Tryp hotel Bremen

Stayed here due to an early flight out of Bremen airport. I walked it to and from the airport in about 20 minutes with luggage. Option two is to walk down the block and take the tram. Don't know when it happened but hotels seem to not have clocks in the rooms anymore--would be especially nice for an airport hotel. Good news they have a vending machine that sells booze in the hallway. Overall I'd recommend.

I stayed at this hotel as I got a great deal. The staff were very friendly. There is great cafés near by - it's a 20 minute walk to the city centre but there is a tram stop outside the hotel. If I am in Bremen again i will stay at this hotel.

I will only return to this hotel if they offer a very good discount. Not recommended if someone wants to save some Euros. The location is good. BUT... The internet hardly works,so if your are there for business forget about having a 24/7 access to the internet. The rooms are clean but they are pretty old. There is no air condition installed, it is only a huge machine located in one corner of the room that you can turn on, but it plays the role of a ventilator... Moreover, the bed covers... I am 6 feet (182cms) and I do not understand why instead of putting a proper cover they put two small cover. I can not image how any tall German will manage to survive in Winter... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE SAVING A FEW EUROS, HOWEVER IF THEY HAVE A GOOD PROMOTION, GO WITH IT..

Good hotel for overnight stop

Used this hotel for an overnight stop having arrived at Bremen airport quite late in the evening. Hotel staff very helpful and room comfortable and clean. Only food available was a savory crepe but cost reasonable and service good. There were other places close by to eat but I was too tired to be bothered to try them! Breakfast (not included in room price) was very good with plenty of choice. Only downside was hotel was much further from airport than I expected. Taxi fare €13.40 - don't try to walk!

Good location, shame about the rest of it!

We arrived fairly late and checked in. We were not given any information at check in about breakfast, local amenities or check out time. We got to our room and after i had paid a little extra for a double bed, found we had been placed in a room with twin beds. There were cracked and broken tiles all around the bathroom and the flush on the toilet was hanging off of the wall. The good things i can say is that the hotel is in an excellent location, only 3 stops from the airport on the tram and then another 4 stops to the city center. Also the beds were clean. I would not stay here again unless the rooms were smartened up.

The hotel is run down - bits of a/c equipment clanking against the outside walls, shower showing signs of water damage. My biggest criticism is poor wifi which frequently dropped out and had a clunky interface. Breakfast was good though!

Good hotel with helpful staff. A little out of the city centre but the tram is very easy to get and doesn't take long.

The only issue I had was with Housekeeping. They put things in the bin that were on the desk and tidied all my clothes away into my suitcase if they were hung on a chair etc. I would rather they left them where I put them!
They also barged into my room at about 8am while I was still asleep then proceeded to clatter about outside my room with not much respect for people sleeping!

the hotel is not closed to any of the stores. The area is dark at night with very few lights on the street. The hotel is old not like what the picture shows on the website.

very good but was thinking the brackafst was only 8 euro each but when we came to check out it was More as we only had 3 brackfast we worked it out to be 48 euro but it came to 59.94 Euro was told its the VAT . room we had was very nice and well look after by the staff cleeners . the staff were very helpfull at all time pointing us in the right direction . The tram is only 1.30 euro and only 3 stops to the hotell form the airport not worth geting a taxi.

The hotel is only 3 tram stops from the airport in Bremen and the price made it a great alternative to the more pricey airport hotels. The room was comfortable but a bit cramped. The front desk staff was very helpful. All in all the Tryp was a good option before my international flight.

Great location but hotel rundown &services lacking

This was our second stay at this hotel (1st time under new owners) & unfortunately we were left unsatisfied after our latest visit. The hotel is perfectly located though as we walked from the hotel to the airport as it is so close & the No.6 tram goes to the airport but also goes in reverse direction through city centre & to the HBF. Oddly, there appeared to be less facilities in our room than our previous stay, but what we did have (shower, hair dryer etc) worked just fine. Although mattress was quite comfy there was only one bed pillow each (plus a tiny cushion) & pillows were quite flat. There wasn't one bed sheet for a double but 2 single sheets on a double bed & one was thicker than the other, but both too thin. Hotel is old fashioned as still uses a key to get into the room & we had to get assistance to get into room as door stuck while opening. Staff were helpful on that occasion but overall their attitude had something left to be desired. There's free wi-fi but it wasn't very good at all. Couldn't get it to work on my smart phone and didn't always work on laptop, when did work it was incredibly slow. There is a garage within walking distance if you wish to grab snacks or drinks (incl. alcohol) and if you leave the front door and cross the street at the lights, keep on walking a few yards & on your left is a Chinese restaurant that is very good. Would still return if flying in/out Bremen due to location.

The best option for this price in Bremen

Accommodation in Bremen is rather expensive. When I saw Tryp hotel offering rooms for such a good price I did not believe that I would get a nice room. However:
1. The location is perfect. 10 minutes walk from the airport. Perfect for our early flight back.
2. The tram stop is right near the hotel. Route 6 goes directly from the airport - 3 stops and you're at the hotel. 4 more stops and you're at the city center.
3. The staff was very helpful and kind. They will gladly answer all your questions.
4. I did not hear any noise from outside although my room faced the street exactly.
5. The rooms were nice and clean. With flat screen tvs. Bathroom with a shower was really clean. They made it up during the day.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. The next time I come to Bremen, I will definitely choose Tryp hotel again. You now have one more regular guest.

Fabulous trip to Bremen Christmas market. Stayed one night with my son, had almost two full days seeing the sights and tasting the Gluhwein and Bratwurst. Very pleased with the hotel after reading reviews about it being dated. It was comfortable and clean. Staff were extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble. We were even offered free Gluwhein and biscuits on the Friday night.

Spent two nights here, hotel is a mix of modern and old fashioned. The building is old fashioned (the room doors required actual keys, not cards) but they have a modern restaurant / bar. Downside would be that although the kitchenette was nice to have the refrigerator was not working. Location is the best part, a 15 minute walk from the airport or even shorter trip on the No.6 tram. The same tram also goes the opposite direction to the city centre and HBF. If visiting there is a nice little Chinese restaurant straight across the road from hotel front door I'd recommend. A shell garage is also a conveniently short walk away for any snacks or alcohol you may be peckish for. It's all about location & transport links for me so would stay here again. Recommended.

handy for the airport

Good hotel.Only three tram stops from Bremen airport. Hotel is comfprtable and has a good selection for breakfast. It has a restraunt for dinner but I didnt try it. 10 minutes by tram and you are in the city center.

Ok place, but ask room not on side of street!

It was nice, but we was there for a week and had room on street side. A lot of traffic, lot alarm cars passing. It mean not sleeping with open window or late wake up. Location is good - 20 minutes walk to airport, 2 minutes to closest tram station. Normal price. Room cleaning very good, breakfast pretty poor.

Disappointing

Although I had booked a superior room I was put in a standard room. When I asked about this it seems that the fax from Expedia said 'standard' luckily I was able to show them my confirmation of a superior room from Expedia. They changed my room although it did not have curtains. My brother's room faced the main road and was very noisy. The rooms were also very dated and tired.
On the plus side the staff were generally marvellous, very helpful, very cheerful.

the room did not look anything like the picture.It was old and junky. The airconditioning was a very noisy machine in the middle of the room. I would never stay there again.

Good location between city and airport

The location is good in between city and airport. Breakfast was ok. The room with window facing to south was too warm and the aircon was noisy and wasn't cooling enough so we ended up to sleep with window open (in the early morning there was a lot of noise from airport and traffic).

okay, clean room, nice staff, but not wonderful.

The staff were very pleasant. the room was clean and a good size, but the decor of the room was tired and dreary, and I wasn't given clear information about the availability of food in the restaurant, whether I could buy breakfast there, or the price of breakfast once I had found out it was available. Very convenient for walking or taking the tram into the town centre, so I would say it was okay, or fine rather than awful or wonderful. I would be okay about staying again, but would probably look at other alternatives and see if there was anything nicer first.

Awful, dirty hotel, construction noise all day. Despite the fact that hotel was paid trough hotels.com ,you must pay city tax in the morning.Beware of this hotel. Ouk.

Near the airport and reasonably priced

My deluxe room was good and clean. The nearby region was not so interesting but travelling with trams was easy. The communication with the reception was sometimes difficult, especially related to the extra city tax. A good breakfast was served in a reasonable price.

Perfect for a city break

My wife and I stayed for three nights. The hotel is ideally located between the airport and city centre, being only 5 minutes from the airport by number 6 tram, which stops across the road. A 20-25 minute pleasant walk takes you into the heart of Bremen (or jump back on the number 6 tram for 5 minutes). We paid a little extra for a superior room and requested a room at the back of the hotel away from the street. Extremely comfortable and it was probably the quietest hotel room we have stayed in! Breakfast was fantastic - bacon, egg, sausage, smoked fish, cereals, yogurts, fruit, rolls, jams etc. etc., all maintained by friendly staff.

There was nothing to note on the negative front and I would certainly stay in this hotel again and recommend it to others. Great value for money!!!

Modern convenience in a great location.

The Mercure is conveniently located on the #6 tram line from the airport directly into Bremen. It's clean, modern, and safe. The staff was helpful, and the internet worked very well.
