Rooms weren’t very clean, towels didn’t get changed. Advertised as a double room but it’s two single beds pushed together (not connected) so you fell down a gap in the middle of the bed in the night! Shower temperature changed

Food pretty good for an all inclusive and pool area / dining area and communal areas were lovely. Nice for a relaxing holiday!

It's a fine stay, but the place felt cheaply built. The entire power socket comes out of the wall when I unplugged an electronic that was charging. The furniture in the room was water damaged. There was a foul smell coming out of the bathroom drain. There were ants in my room. Stains on the couch. Besides all of that - take advantage of the amenities. All of the food was good.

Staff at the front desk was very rude… everyone acted like they were doing us a favor and were being inconvenienced. Loud throughout the day, palm trees being trimmed in front of the room before 7am. Walls were paper thin. Would not recommend.

Good experience overall.

The hotel staff is very friendly and I cannot recommend this hotel enough to friends and family, the only downside I can share is the fact that the fresh fruit buffet offer is not that big, but all food is good.

The hotel was noisy with dated brick pathways which made the cleaners trolley very loud every morning. The pool area was crowed, cups bottles left on the steps at night at the entrance. Our room was not clean, the wardrobe door did not close. Sofa bed filthy. The block areas echoed with noise and door slamming and looked and felt like prison blocks.
Lastly the food was terrible! Definitely not 4star I would like a voucher refund to choose another hotel as I did not have a nice stay in this hotel very disappointed. I’m surprised this was even on hotels.com as I trusted your choice

A disappointing trip

We were disappointed in the hotel for a number of reasons:

- drinks in plastic or paper cups all day, even in an evening (limited drinks included in all inclusive)

- water dispensers available but limited. When you have young kids this is important

- lots of ants in the room each day

- some days there would only be 2 towels in the room for a family of 4 - service was inconsistent

Overall layout of the property was good, the bedroom was acceptable and clean.
Problem with the Airconditioning which resulted in having to spend 3 hours in our room with 2 electricians in attendance.
As an All Inclusive resort we were presented with 2 bottles of water in the bedroom fridge for the duration of our stay.
Upon requesting more water we were told that we would need to purchase additional water, THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
I would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Hotel looks better in the photos than in real life pretty dissatisfied with the rooms over looking each other not much privacy: reception staff are very slow and always a Q, plus point dining areas are spotless clean and wide range of foods we were only b&b , also disappointed that when trying to buy a beer from the bar at night they serve it in a small plastic cup not really what you want to drink your drinks from not much around hotel either need a taxi most places roughly 8-10€ ,, personally I would not return as I said above serving drinks in plastic cups is just not on for a guest,, would not return to this hotel or use the Barcello chain again,

This hotel is beautiful however they have not done a good job maintaining it. Some areas are not as clean. Our room had a very modern design which was a plus but unfortunately the bathroom was not as clean and the walls had mold, you could see the paint falling off. Despite that our stay was great, their all inclusive package is amazing and our favorite part was the pool and food.

The experience was kind of bad. The 1st room we got was not clean, hair on the floor, humidity and when showering all the water was going into the bedroom as the bathroom is inside the room near the bed. We asked to change room after that and the new room was not clean neither, still hair on the floor but at least bathroom was separate from the bedroom. Durning the moves between 1 room to another we forgot one pair of shoes and a toothbrush. When we realize it we ask at reception. We got back to toothbrush but no the shoes. Which is kind of really strange to me. The hotel could not find us a solution and it seems that someone either the clients that cam right after us in the 1st bedroom we've got or the cleaner stole the shoes but... I will not recommend this hotel, not only for the inconvenience but it seems that we were not the only one to complaining. Every time we went to the reception you could hear clients complaining. They also made us paid twice a room if we wanted to be 2 peoples in the room which is a nonsense for me. We paid for a single room for 2 people at the end 800 euros for 3 days ! And the services are definitely not the one of a 4 stars hotel.

For an October break this hotel was very good. Excellent food selection. Rooms modern and comfortable as well as clean. Staff froendky and reception very helpful especially tall slim guy..sorry dont know his name. Entertainment was also good during day and evening which we fidnt expect. Great value.

A wonderful stay at Occidental Ibiza

I was visiting Ibiza as part of a festival and specifically chose to stay at Occidental following the festival, to enjoy some downtime at the end of my trip.

The hotel exceeded my expectations; the customer service at reception was always warm and friendly. Staff made an effort to remember my name - nothing felt like too much to ask.

The pools are wonderful and well maintained and there's plenty of space around the pool to relax. There's clearly a mix of families, couples and solo guests but it maintained a peaceful atmosphere.

The location is a short distance from Port d'es Torrents which is beautiful for catching the sunset or enjoying a boat ride across to San Antonio.

I'd highly recommend this hotel to anybody that wants a mix of peace and quiet with easy access to the town.

Animation team were too annoying. Great beach.

The hotel is in a good location with a gorgeous beach and fabulous beach bar very close by. The buffet food is goodC drinks selection is very limited and basic. Served in paper cups in the evening. Not great. The worst part of the hotel is the animation team - so annoying. Too loud on the microphone all day. Spoilt the day. Eating lunch with someone shouting down a mic was really irritating and a massive shame. Coming up to you on your sunlounger with pointless requests to play beach volleyball or some other game. Just irritating and annoying. Too loud!!! No need for it on the mic as much as they were. Reception staff lovely and professional. Cleanliness of rooms very good but our cleaner left the sliding door to our room open twice. Not good especially when on the ground floor. Door left open all day. I was so annoyed. Advise you to get a safe if you want to keep tour things safe from someone walking into your room. Crowded sun beds around the pool and very old sunbeds... Uncomfortable. Bed in room is very comfortable. Overall it was good but wouldn’t go back.

Great for families, couples, singles...not ravers.

Port des Torrent is a bit out of the way and although there’s a beach bar you will need to take a bus or taxi into ‘San An’ or anywhere else for that matter. There is a water taxi at the beach but the novelty of that would soon wear off.

Having said that, the Occidental is a really good hotel, great for couples, those with children and perhaps non party animals due to its location.

My clubbing days are over so I really enjoyed my stay. The food is good, the rooms are lush and there are four pools!

If you want luxury and to go out clubbing every night then factor in the cost of taxis both ways. It’s within walking distance to the bay for lesser nightlife.

The hotel has had a complete refurb/modernisation and has a great ambience. The staff are attentive and courteous. Our room was excellent with a corner balcony, spacious with a wet room/shower and separate wc and also large very comfortable king size bed.
The food is very fresh and not repetitive at all. Drinks good. great value for money

Not a 4 star by any means (have stayed in many Ibiza hotels). Am contactgin Expedia as Laos taxes upfront but hotel insisted we pay again upon arrival?? Not happy with them or Expedia with that.
Food average- not 4 star equivalent.
Having to pay for safe in room isn’t my idea of 4 star as most 3 star hotels on island don’t come with paying for safe.

Food poisoning

Stayed at hotel for 4 nights, 5 days. Got severely ill on day 3, reported to hotel, no action taken - sickness & upset stomach. Upon return to UK was admitted into hospital for suspected food poisoning - this has subsequently been confirmed by Hospital as Salmonella. Did not eat anywhere else whilst out in Ibiza. Was not able to leave the hotel room and really ruined trip.

Ok hotel. food was not great but you can usually find something to eat most meals. Beds are uncomfortable and air con is either freezing cold or roasting hot when not using it. Pool was like jumping into a frozen lake! Close to a nice beach and great little pizza restaurant which I can't recommend enough. Not really anything to do near the hotel so means you need to get a bus/taxi into San Antonio which costs around 12euros for taxi. Overall it's a nice enough hotel but not somewhere I'd be rushing back to.

Just returned from a 4 night stay. Staff were excellent, great animation team, the food was lovely on the all inclusive and lovely snacks provided throughout the day. The only thing I would say is the pool is freezing cold so as soon as you jumped in, you’re straight back out and when the weather isn’t very hot anyway, it isn’t ideal.

The hotel is very clean and tidy, with great options for food and drink. The pool area's are big enough with the addition of a separate kids pool area and play area, which is a plus for family's. The sun beds are a little uncomfy, so we took a pillow from the room to help. All in all a great place to stay for couples and family's alike, Highly recommend it

Food was excellent. Somewhat limited on the drink availability including soft drinks which was a shame. I asked for a cranberry juice and was bluntly told \"no\". Cleaners good but were frustrating at not leaving new shower gels when we run out. Entertainment was up and down, Chinese acrobatic show was great. Some times hard to know what was going on as there were no displays.

Great Hotel & Staff

The Occidental is a great hotel that has been refurbished and looks great. The staff were friendly and helpful with all aspects of our stay, any issues raised were dealt with quickly and I can't recommend them highly enough. The food is decent and caters for all ages but the repetition over 2 weeks can make the dining experience seem a little bit boring so keep this in mind and maybe eat out a few nights. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for a family of 3 and the pools on site were great too. The kids pool at the back of the hotel with the play park adjacent to it is a real plus point for parents who want to be able to spend time in the pool with their little ones away from the adults pool. The facilities on site such as beach volleyball, tennis, football, games room etc mean that there is enough contained on site to keep everyone busy and happy at the same time. There isn't loads to do in the immediate area outside the hotel so having so many things to do at the hotel really goes in it's favour. There is a lovely beach / bay just 10 mins walk down the hill and a water park just beyond that too but any other entertainments would be best reached by taxi and I would suggest Cala De Bou or San Antonio itself. Alternatively hire a car and go for a drive as the hilly forests hide some lovely bays and beaches within 30 mins drive either way. The only real downside is the lack of parking at the hotel but overall it was a great stay and we would definitely go back :)

Room similar to a travelodge clean but basic. Food mediocre - luke warm and very similar every day. Cocktails on all inclusive were non alcoholic and had to ask for drinks to be served in glasses otherwise we got paper cups. All in a mall it was ok but have stayed at nicer places.

Really enjoyed our stay here, big group of over 20 of us stayed for a family wedding & the hotel staff did everything they could to accommodate us. Food is up & down, one day can be fantastic, the next not much to write home about. Overall it's a clean hotel with lovely staff located in a beautiful part of the island.

The staff were so rude!

I was really shocked at how rude the staff were. My friend (who wasn't staying) had to beg to help me carry my suitcase to my room since i was feeling faint, and to store her suitcase there too. She was only allowed 10 minutes or they said they'd come and remove her. My second friend (who was staying) was refused entry since I was asleep in the room, so when i woke up i had to meet her on the beach instead. When we came back to the hotel the receptionist confronted her with the words 'Right, we need to start off on a new footing' before proceeding to accuse her of trying to smuggle someone else into the hotel, which had not happened at all. He wouldn't listen to her at all. He then refused to allow my original friend to pick up her luggage from the room and forced her to wait in reception whilst I went and got it, even running after her to remove her from the hotel and shout at her, even though she'd been allowed to store her bag in my room. Absolutely ridiculous!
The receptionist then told her it was a family hotel, which is why he was treating 3 British women with suspicion. He did allow her to use the public changing room/ shower but I think it was so we wouldn't write a bad review about the service.

Nice Hotel, convenient and staff very pleasant.\n

OMG air conditioning not working, in temperatures that dropped to mid-twenties during the night, it was pretty uncomfortable getting ready and sleeping.
Paid for all inclusive, food and drink pretty much available all day, main meals were buffet style with a good choice and good quality. It was good value for money and we were happy to book a few nights out in restaurants as well.
We would be happy to use this hotel again, I will just be sure that the air conditioning is working before I accept the room.

Really friendly staff from the waiters to the cleaning staff. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels, swimming pool was great but requires more sun beds. Entertainment was fun especially the Irish Band if you have kids they are well looked after by the Kids Club. Near the lovely beach when your fed up with the pool and you can get a boat trip into San Antonio.

You really can't beat it for the price. The rooms are very clean. They are a bit small and the beds are two separate twin beds, so for my husband and I this was a but disappointing. The staff and the food were great though! We were there for a week and the food was never the same! Location is great too, a 175 euro bus ride to san antoni and very close to some beautiful beaches.

For Ibiza where everything seems to cost and arm and a leg, the Barceló is refreshingly good value for money. We were in Block 7 and our room had been recently refurbished. It was comfortable and clean and everything we needed for our stay. Good facilities in terms of pool etc. It was a short walk to a beach and a few relatively nice restaurants but otherwise there is not a huge amount there.

I stayed for a week at the beginning of October and thought overall it was very good value for the price i paid. The food was plentiful and there was a good choice of dishes. There are 3 pools to choose from and its only a 5 minute walk to the beach. I liked the location - it was far enough out of San Antionio to get a away from it but easy enough to get to by bus or about a 40 minute walk. The only negative thing I would mention is that the walls of the rooms are so thin you can hear everything going on in the next rooms! That being said, I would certainly return for a cheap break.

The room was basic, but clean. We didn't spend much time in there so it really wasn't a problem. The restaurant is ok, not a huge choice but everything we ate was perfectly edible, so again not a problem. The staff are pleasant and helpful. All in all, for what we spent, it really is fantastic value.

Only stayed for 3 nights, but what a great hotel. Went to Ibiza for A state of trance closing party and wanted to be out the way of San Antonio. The hotel itself is great really well kept with great facilities. food was great with a great selection. Drinks are very good too, obviously not as good as the Caribbean but for what you pay its a real pleasure. Tip the bar tenders and they will take care of you. When getting around take the water taxi from the beach it is so worth it at 6 euros return. Did the cave tour at only 15 euros and that was a laugh. The are is quite but that is what we wanted. Fantastic stay and would go back in a heart beat.

Nice hotel, nothing special but OK for the price you pay. Everything is clean, lots of entertainment. Food is fine, very English orientated.

Good Location for short break

We wanted to stay at Port des Torrent and this was the only accommodation we could find that was open for the dates we wanted. The hotel reception is nice but the rooms are rather small (although maybe we could have had a larger room if we paid more). The bathroom could be better with some broken wall tiles and discoloured grouting.The food was disappointing. Overall for the money we paid the standard is what you would expect.

Nice, Clean, Hotel...

Not a bad hotel at all. It was clean and the staff were quite friendly. It is a busy though but that's to be expected anyway. The power went out in my hotel block one day, which so happened to when I was getting ready to attend a wedding..Well without the air conditioning, it looked like I just stepped outta the pool, apart from that..All good..I would recommend

Good Hotel

Very top end of the 3 Star hotels in Ibiza/Spain. We stayed All-Inclusive and meals had a wide choice and food good quality (you can eat yourself to death as morning and afternoon snacks like hotdogs and burgers are also available too)
Hotel has an entertainments team that put on shows to keep kids bizzy and adults tickled. Also choice of 3 pools.
We gave the hotel a 4 out of 5 rating because hotel has no internet (go to cafe across the road), it's about 2 km outside San Antonio so you need a car or expense of a taxi (main road is full of moronic Govt speed bumps) and rooms are a little on the small side.
But all-in-all a very nice hotel with friendly staff :)

This hotel is terrible. The good: it's clean & close to the beach. If you're hungry there's a good place to eat literally right across the street and it's cheap too. The bad: they charge you to sit on the benches on the beach and the beach close to this hotel is boring! The ugly: I don't suggest you buy the meal+room special because the food in this hotel really is gross. The receptionist was \"bleh\" and the lady in the cafeteria was always talking behind my back... why? I don't know! Who does that?! Another thing, if you don't have children... STAY AWAY from this hotel. People that stay here are families for the most part with lots of kids everywhere and there's a play area for the kids where they play LOUD music for the kids n have activities for them. There's 2 pools and the kids n parents take them up all day. THe rooms are tiny and if you want one bed, make sure you get ONE bed not the twin beds placed by each other's side because they move throughout the night. They also don't provide anything except 2 towels, shower gel and hand soap so bring all your necessities. THey charge one euro every 10 minutes for their internet. The clubs are on the other side of the island are pretty far (i.e. space), it'll cost about 30some euros to get there by taxi and the ones closer to the hotel on on San Anotonio Bay aren't as good but you still need a taxi to get there n that will run you about 15ish euros. Overall, this place is not good and I would not reccomend it.

Personnel accueillants, l’hotel possède de nombreux poles de restauration et bars. Assez bien situé près d’une plage a 500m, arret de bus a 2 min. La restauration est varié, sous forme de buffet, tous les jours différents plats. Le all inclusive porte bien son nom. Pret de serviette de plage possible.

nous avons eu 2 chambres assez sortie de et communiquante avec mes filles . buffet top varié mais le seul bémol pas d étiquetages sur tous les plats et beaucoup de plats à base de porc et pas trop de choix pour les sans porc. les activités dans l hôtel était médiocre, voir aucune activité .

Alles top, außer die Sauberkeit der Zimmer. In der Dusche hat der Duschkopf geschimmelt. Beim Duschen ist das Wasser rausgelaufen und der Griff für die Tür der Dusche hat auch geschimmelt.

Des Weiteren hat es genervt, dass die Betten in den Zimmern auf Rollen waren.

Essen, Lobby etc war alles gut
