The overall experience was great. It is a nice Hostel with Friendly Staff and good Installations. It was a bit noisy at night, but bearable (Inside at the lobby... and outside)

I fully recommend The People Paris, from the very friendly check in girl, the barmen etc all couldn’t be more helpful and do enough for me!

The hotel is located next to two Metro stations (2 or 5 minutes walk) so perfect for discovering the capital French city easily, which I did!

Really enjoyed my stay. Would definitely recommend this hostel for anyone looking to stay near the Canal during their visit. The four-person rooms on the rooftop were some of the best hostel accommodation I have had.

Booked this due to its proximity to the Eurostar station. Didn’t realise it was more of a party hostel. Music downstairs/surrounding area was a bit noisy when trying to sleep. Also booked a room for six but the room was really tiny with not much space to even move around. Expected a bit more considering it has a good rating.

We did not stay here even though we paid for 3 nights. We have never been to Paris and based on previous reviews we booked this place. Our taxi cab driver on the way to this place, told us this is not a safe area. None of the pictures that were shown shows the area around this place. No one with kids would ever pick this place and feel that it is safe area. This place is non refundable so buyer beware. We lost over $1,000 by not receiving a refund because it’s not a safe area. Our unbiassed taxi cab driver took us to another location and made sure that we were in another safe place and area, he even reached out to us after a couple of days to make sure we were safe….

It was okay my stay but U cannot say that I enjoyed my time at The People Belleville Paris, unfortunately. Firstly, due to being put in a mixed room when I have reserved a female room only and have the unpleasant surprise to find out that was not the case. Further to that, the bathroom smelled bad when left with the door closed after a while and the hangers were rusty inside the bathroom as well. The only good thing was that it had a hair dryer available in the room. The surrounding were not safe and I felt a bit scared walking there late at night from the closest metro station to the hostel. Plus, the hostel charged my a city tax that I was not aware at all during the check-in. This was not really clear in the advertisement in the Expedia and I was quite surprised to have to pay an extra tax to have the ‘right’ to stay in a hostel, as if the fees I paid for the room were not enough. The practice of passing this extra cost to the guests is not a nice practice at all and should be reviewed.

Really amazing stay, I was very impressed with the quality of the accommodation for the price. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The bar/restaurant on-site is great. I really appreciated that there were curtains in the bed to make for more privacy when sleeping. Comfy bedding! The view from the rooftop is amazing! I've found my new go-to spot when in Paris.

My third or fourth time staying at this place. Still fully enjoying it :)
Confortable beds, clean showers and decent facilities.
Nice and cosy bar downstairs, where you can also enjoy a nice and affordable breakfast in the morning.
The location is probably not the best, but there's a subway station not far from the hostel, so it makes it easy to access the city center.

Fantastic hostel for a solo female traveller! Cannot recommend enough. Location is a little removed from the main tourist areas. Personally, that wasn't an issue for me but it's definitely something to consider if that's important to you. Even if it is, there are two metro stations within a block of the hostel! I would highly recommend staying here when you come to Paris!

더피플 마레랑 오지게 비교하다가 여기로 골랐는데 위치는 11호선이나 3호선?타고 중앙까지 바로 갈 수 있어서 낫배드하고요 밤 11시좀 넘어서 다녀도 크게 위험한 느낌은 없었는데 역앞에 노숙하는 사람은 좀 있어요 샤워기가 5초마다 꺼지는 그 짜증나는 샤워기 아니라서 진짜 마음에 들었고요 해바라기랑 코브라 샤워기 둘다 있고 샤워부스 상태는 나쁘지 않아요 그리고 화장실에 드라이기 비치되어 있어요 호스텔 치고 비싸긴 한데 파리 숙박비가 다 이모양이라서 그냥 납득하렵니다 앞에 Franprix 있어요! 칸막이에 커튼달려있어요~

People who say that it is in the middle of nowhere need their head examined. Yes it isn't next to the Eiffel Tower, but not everything in Paris is near each other, in fact most things aren't!

The bar on the first floor seems to have a bit of a cult following, with regulars coming in that are always good to give advise on what to do or see.

Only thing to criticise is probably the second bunk being too high, the lockers should be moved from being under the bottom bunk, and both bunks lowered.

If I am ever transiting through Paris again, I'd definitely consider revisiting.

I think though I am not a hostel kind of person anymore. Used to be a go to when I was travelling but I will think again for next trips (the rest of my bookings are not in hostels). I know I should not expect to sleep well in a dormitory but still, being woken up at 1am to 2am is not very nice (mostly in jetlag). I could have chosen something better for jetlag but I was looking for a cheap accommodation for my first night. And it is no longer that of a cheap option! Thank you.

Spent 2 nights here, and in between I woke to find about 12 bug bites on my arm/neck. I know that they are bug bites, as I am allergic to bug bites, and now they have swollen the size of half dollar coins. Seeing how they were in a line and how itchy they were, I'm guessing bed bugs. I'm thinking it had to do with my pillow, seeing as how there was a blood stain on it and had to request a new one...

This is nice hostel with a bar downstairs.
The room (6 bed female dorm) was pretty small and dark but it was clean. Although it was only on the first floor above the bar, it wasn't noisy at all.
Beds are allocated and I was allocated a top bunk. I don't usually mind upper bunks but the top bunk here is very high up, which I didn't like. I don't know why it was so high as these are 2-up bunks, not 3-up.
The breakfast was simple but nice. I think it's pretty good value as you can choose from 3€ to 9€ breakfasts.

Loved the staff at Les Piaules. They were all very nice and helpful. I enjoyed the Jam sesh night that they had one night I was there. Love the vibe in the hostel too. It's a little out of the city center but very close to the metro. The beds are super comfy and you get a good blanket (comforter). But I love the curtain that each bunk has. Adds a little bit of privacy for a small room. The only downside was the hairdryer in our bathroom wasn't working properly. Overall, loved this place and would come back!

Cons-No early check in, horrible area/watched a fist fight happen right across street from hostel during day time, cost 4 euros for use of locker before or after check in, 2 euros for a towel, Maids try to get you to get up and check out before noon because they are trying to make the rooms for the next guest.

Pros - good shower and cheap in comparison to other hostel/hotels

Overall it’s more like a hotel who’s main goal is to make money and that is all. There is no hostel atmosphere at all, mostly locals in the bar area which do not converse with hostel guest.

Everything is perfect. I arrived early and SUPER tired and them helped me with an early check in. The beds are super comfy, the curtains are a plus. The bathroom is super clean. They just have to change the hair dryer because it doesn’t work but even like this is perfect. The bar is perfect, the Metro station is close. And I met lovely friends there. Favorite place to stay when visiting Paris. The staff is excellent and always willing to help with any questions you may have. The rooms are clean and modern. Love the curtains for added privacy. There is no kitchen but no worries as there are plenty of cheap eats in the area. The metro is a short walk and you are in all the tourist spots within minutes. Neighborhood is relatively safe. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Paris on a budget!

This hostel was nice. Not in the pretty part of town but I felt mostly safe. A block away from two different metro stations on either side. Staff was friendly and it was clean enough. Didn’t meet many people to talk to (many French speakers) but the lobby was always filled with people chilling and having a drink or reading. I also enjoyed their jazz night.

Great Hostel!

I was overall very pleased with Les Piaules! The staff were all quite multilingual and generally friendly! My only small complaint was the lack of shared space - just a few couches and tables + bar all used for eating, drinking, socializing, and working. There was no kitchen either so as a vegan it was hard to eat all of my meals in the city. Nevertheless great hostel! The individual bed curtains were an awesome plus.

The rooms were nice. Each bed has its own curtain which is nice touch as you get some privacy. The rooms were clean. Unfortunately i didn't get an ounze of sleep because the girls in my room were in and out all through the night. The bathrooms were tidy as well. The showers are hot and powerful.

The neighbourhood is rough. I really didn't feel safe walking around at night. As soon as the sun went down i would go back to the hostel.

The cutlery was dirty. The sofas were pretty dirty and old too. The lounge area isnt very pleasant. It's small, it gets very crowded. There wasn't anything vegan to eat in the hostel and there's no kitchen, so i would have to keep going out for food which gets expensive.

Its a bit of an odd vibe, mostly French people staying there, there wasnt much of a mix of different nationalities (this is mid jan so off season) and i dont speak French so it did feel a little lonely as i didn't have anyone to talk to for the most part. Except for a blonde haired lady, the staff all seemed disinterested and kinda rude.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Les Piaules Hostel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The facility was clean, safe, and cozy; surprisingly, the beds were too. Although the neighborhood seemed a bit old and dirty (kind of like downtown New York or Los Angeles), it was fine. Most places were within walking distance, such as the metro, store, cafe, etc. (which was nice). I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back.

Located in the eclectic Belleville neighborhood, close to two Metro stops and 10 mins. from the Louvre, Orsay, etc. Local bistros, Trippletta and a corner Vietnamese restaurant are busy with locals.

Rooms and shared baths were bright and clean. When they say \"mixed\" dorms, they're serious. Lots of french natives staying here while in Paris for job interviews or being tourists themselves. Terrific live entertainment in the bar that serves good food and draws a crowd. A real bargain.

Great for a solo traveller
Very easy to meet new people, everyone seems super friendly, including the staff
Lockers in each room and privacy curtains
Shower curtain in cubicle to prevent clothes from getting wet
Good breakfast
Always clean, never ran out of toilet paper or soap etc
Can buy kits from the reception if you forget anything (adapted, dental kit etc).
Great atmosphere
Rooms have AC (not needed for the winter but great for summer)
Complimentary drink on arrival
Free Wifi, no issues

Cons
There are only a few teeny tiny bad things which haven't changed my view on how great the hostel is:
Nowhere to dry your hands once you wash them
Hairdryers weren't very good but not an issue as I brought my own
Better range of cooked breakfasts would've been perfect

Room, rooftop and cafe/bar downstairs are nice. Only downside was the toilets: limited cubicles for the whole level, water leaks out of the cubicles, and cleaning wasn't done regularly. Overall, hostel is in good condition and staffs were nice and helpful.
Location is in chinatown area, but still convenient to travel to tourist spots.

The room and the bathrooms were relatively clean. The price of the food in the cafe was decent. I only had the filter coffee and it was okay. The location was convenient close to restaurants, cafes, shops and multiple subway lines. The wifi was good. The staff were not the most accommodating. I received one free mini beer during check in. I am gluten intolerant and asked if I could have wine instead. They told me they could only offer me apple or orange juice. The price for a small beer and wine are the same on their menu, even asked if I could have wine instead and they said no. The bunk beds were incredibly unsafe. They were extremely high up and it was a mission to get to the top bunk safely, throw in the fact that I am only 5\"2'. People were loud and noisy outside so it was hard to sleep.The view from the terrace you can actually see the Eiffel Tower light show so that was pretty neat.

Probably the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Lockers under the bunkbeds (need to bring a padlock), beds were comfy, clean and staff were helpful. Also their rooftop has an awesome view. 1 minute walk to the Metro which gets you into Gare du Nord in 7 mins. Would recommend this place to anyone

Les Piaules was by far the best hostel I've stayed in. Clean rooms with comfortable bed. Has personal power points, privacy curtain, and large lockers. Make sure request for a lower bunk if you're scared of heights or you just like to move around when you sleep, or your body is more on the patique side because there are only 2 belts that stops you from falling and I being a small person, was afraid I would fall off the bed. Clean toilets, nice bar on the first floor. They let you leave your luggage after checkout it paid lockers. Only downside is that they don't have a kitchen.

Hostel and bar/cafe/restaurant with great vibes

As well as operating as a hostel, Les Piaules is also a bar/cafe/restaurant that's open to the public, so there's a great mix of people at any time of day. The food is on the expensive side for what you get, but not completely unreasonable - for breakfast, you're probably better off going to a local bakery.

As for the sleeping quarters, I stayed in an 8-bed dorm without an ensuite. It was cramped, but I expected that - just be prepared for some discomfort and awkwardness when you're rummaging through your suitcase. The beds were comfortable and had curtains for privacy, though sometimes this worked to detriment people's opportunity to socialise - but whatever, there's a bar (and rooftop bar!) for a reason. Each bed also had a power point and a reading light, which made it super easy to do your own stuff without bothering other people.

The toilets and showers were all fine - showers are a little small (hard to put skinny jeans on when it's wet and cramped) and the light would shut off after a period of inactivity. Nonetheless, it did its job so ultimately there are no complaints and I would definitely recommend this place to others!

i stayed for 3 nights, in summer the room is like staying in an oven. no air conditioning and was super hot and basically cant fall into sleep at all. the staff is very young, they tried to be helpful and not well trained. Need extra attention to make sure your stuff not being taken away.

Exceptional Stay!

Everything you want/need is right here. Superb location in the non-touristy Beauville district. Close to happening bars, clubs, restaurants, art and the Metro. Comfy beds, friendly helpful staff and a bar. Clean bathrooms too and blackout curtains. 5 stars!

Great Hostel if on Holiday.....

This is a great hostel if on holiday.....good vibes in the bar/cafe, comfortable rooms with curtains on each bed, very well kept up, friendly and helpful staff. However, there are two things lacking for any other type of journey......no kitchen and no quiet area. The bar is open to the public, which is fine, but it's pretty lively most of the time. There is a roof top sitting area that will be excellent in the warm weather. In January, however, it is only for those who like to jump into frigid water. I look forward to coming back when not working and when the weather is warmer.

Cool and Comfortable

Definitely the coolest Hostel I've stayed in and I would go back! Helpful staff, and a good environment to crash in, and hang out in. Has a lot of good features and definitely better than budget-type hostel places

ドミトリーとしてはかなり良いと思いました。部屋では基本カーテンを閉めていて、プライバシーが保たれている感じがありました。シャワーとトイレは部屋の外にあり、男女別で複数あるので待つこともなく、清潔でした。朝食の品数は多くないものの、キッシュがとても美味しかったです。

Security and safety issues

The bed is comfortable with a curtain.
Checkin staff is friendly.

However , the curtain has some marks on it.
And the room door requires extra attention to ensure the door is knocked. I guess there is someone forgot to knock it on one day. And at that time , the room only has me. I just woke and I see someone open the door and close Immediately when I try to look at who wanted to enter the room!!

Das Zimmer ist klein. Es gibt keine Kästen, keine Abstellflächen. Alles minimal, aber gut.Die Aussicht durchs kleine Fenster über dem Bett auf Sacre Coeur und Eiffelturm ist cool.
Der Blick auf Belleville und den Boulevard de Belleville ist wirklich toll.
