I <3 Pentahotel

I stayed in the Leipzig Pentahotel earlier this year and fell in love with it, so when staying in Berlin, this was an easy choice. This was just as good, if not better than the Leipzig Pentahotel, food and cocktails were great and service was exceptional - thank you!

Comfortables stay, good breakfast, gym and lobby

Nice spacious rooms and clean bathroom. Breakfast has to be the best thing here with lots of fresh food available (cereals, yoghurt, cheeses, breads pastries, hot food, tea and coffee) The reception area is really relaxed with a pool table and ps4 games available for guests.
The gym is also well equipt and also has a sauna!

Downsides: no fridge in the rooms. No ironing board/ iron in the room but can be requested from reception.

Hotel is in good area beside river with lots of bars, cafes, restaurants within walking distance.
Tram/bus stop right outside with direct bus to Schonefeld airport (164)
Check in and out was quick and easy, left luggage facilities were used.
We did not eat here but they do room service.
There's a big funky candle-lit bar with beer garden.
There was tape around the beer garden - not sure if this was designed to keep it off-limits to non-guests but it didn't look great.
The bar drinks menu is quite extensive but the first two drinks we requested ere both not available.
Lifts worked well. Games console at reception.
Room was clean, modern and very spacious for the price, with bath/shower, hairdryer, washing line, toiletries and towels provided. No mini-bar.
Windows opened onto main road outside. Air-con worked ok. Power sockets beside bed.
No iron / ironing board.
Staff spoke perfect English. Free WiFi.
Being a typical Brit tea/coffee making facilities in the room would be welcome.
Would happily stay here again.

The hotel doesn’t provide any tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Want coffee? Well, fork over $4.50 per cup, at the bar, for watery rubbish. The room was average, the location is good, the pillows are flat and few in number. All in all, a very average sort of place

On the last day of our stay, which was the 30th of December 2018, the chicken served to my wife for dinner at the restaurant was burnt and charred. She requested for the order to be replaced. The chicken now served was not fully cooked, it was still raw. My wife realised this after taking a bite. She later had allergic reaction, which was visible on her face for several hours. She was very distressed because of this experience. This was an unpleasant experience and was unacceptable. My wife continues to have stomach issues after returning to the UK and has been advised to undergo some tests.

Moving on to another experience, after checking in on the 28th of December 2018 in the evening, we ordered pizzas for dinner to be delivered to our room 304 and I informed the person taking the order on the phone that I will be paying for the order in the room using my debit card. I couldn't make the payment using my debit card because of some problem with the card machine used by the hotel staff. Since we had arrived after a long journey, we were exhausted. I asked a member of your staff if I could pay the bill at the reception the following morning (just to let you know I had paid for three nights stay in advance at the time of booking online via Expedia.com) given that I would be staying in the hotel for three nights. The member of staff informed me that I was required to come down to the reception immediately after dinner to make the payment. This was discourteous.

Nice building very bad service from the reception

The building is very nice but ther service is very bad. The reception is very rude and unfriendly, specially the guy who worked over night on Friday the 14th. The restroom, because it has now door makes the hole lobby smell. I don’t think I would stay here again

Overall, a fine, modern hotel with cool decorations in the hallways and public places. We wanted to be outside the city by a beach so it fit our needs. If you want to be close to the Berlin sites, however, this would not be the best place to stay.

Very nice Hotel in great location but staff.......

The hotel is very modern, clean, lovely decorated and furnished with great taste. The breakfast left merely no room for improvement and the rooms are functional but still cosy.
Also the bar would be our first choice and is even recommended amongst locals!

The only point of dissapointment was the staff: Although everybody was very friendly and helpful - most of the staff seemed to be \"in training\".
- service was very slow and \"unsure\"
- when we ordered tea we were served the amount of half a glass of luke warm tea
- we got contradicting answers as how to pay for the breakfast on two different days
- staff was not able to provide help with the apple computer provided by the hotel

You would be very lucky to get a Travelodge at this price in the UK but somehow the Penta Hotel Berlin-Kopenick manages it and doesn't cut corners on quality. The room, the staff and the location were all simply WUNDERBAR!

Excellent position within Koepenick - just across the river from the Old Town. Very convenient to have the 164 bus stop outside the hotel - an easy half hour journey, door to door to Shoenefeld airport for
3.20 Euros. We were visiting family who live in Koepenick, so we were aware that it was not a central Berlin hotel. However, using the AB Day Transit ticket we enjoyed a day out in Berlin using trams, trains and buses. We did not have breakfast in the hotel as it seemed expensive at 17 Euros. However, 'Baguette und Buch' across the road does a lovely breakfast in relaxing and friendly surroundings. We did love the whole ground floor area of the Penta Hotel. The seating was very comfortable and the outside area was very nice.

STUNNING hotel. Next to river with great views and relaxation outside dining area. Little bit out of Berlin but direct bus links. Had no problem commuting. Great food, wonderful staff. Lovely contemporary art interior. LOVED it all !

Found used condom one morning, was so disgusted packed up, and demanded I didn't want to stay there another night. The lady basically told me tough luck, I don't have your money. Don't stay here, you may catch a STD or some other disease

Good stay in a lovely location. We were in the area for a local wedding and the hotel was perfect for a small familiy group. Close to tram and buses, but S-Bahn a little further. Schoenefeld within easy reach but Tegel a bit of a hike (40 min taxi ride).

Hotel is great the only one think there is luck of communication for example we ask for direction at the front desk the person was wery short and cold with explanation, we got help from people on the street. Very sad.

One night in Pentahotel Berlin-Keopenick

Business trip, took the hotel because it was near to the airport without being next door. Booked a taxi for the airport in the morning but they forgot to book it. Reception said they arange on and it would be there in two minutes. I was a little sceptical however the taxi arrive within a few minutes. I was pleased to have left time as the traffic is heavy the Taxi ride was about 26 Euro. I would consider stopping at a hotel in Berlin adjacent to a station with a direct link to the airport as the train prices are cheap and they run efficeintly. The food was ok I had a very decent steak. One night ariving late and leaving early my impression of the hotel is based on very limited expereince.

XMPie European Conference

I was staying at the pentahotel for the XMPie European Users Group Conference. The staff were friendly, accommodating and attentive. The rooms were clean and functional.
The Hotel itself was really funky with lots of little elements that added to the informal funky charm; without going over the top, the bar area being the centre of attention and a great place to meet friends.
As this was a users group we wanted to meet up with old and new members and this meant rearranging the tables in the dining room so we could all sit together - this was not an issue. The food was great, well priced and beautifully cooked and the serving staff were attentive, polite and friendly.
The conference facilities and the refreshments available were excellent, although the wireless network needs some attention as it kept cutting out.
Recently i stayed in a 5 star Hotel in a major European city, it cost twice as much as the pentahotel and for that i got a stay that was memorable because it was so bad.

Style over substance

Great location near Kopenik old town and a lovely location on the river. Reception staff slow, unattentive and I waited behind one gentlemen at reception whilst at least five other staff members looked for anything to do other than serve waiting clients. Internet was truly awful and also payable, avoid this hotel if staying on business.

Wow! The hotel has the \"wow\" factor, is very modern, spotless and efficient. They have thought of everything. Our only negative was the lack of a safe in the room although they operate a Safety Deposit facility but this is a little inconvenient. The breakfast buffet is just great catering for every taste, nationality and well worth 17Euros.

A perfect place outside city centre

This hotel is bit outside the city but accessible by S bahn. Riverside hotel in a calm and pleasant area. Very clean and pretty hotel with a nice bar in the lobby. The breakfast is very good with lot of choice. We enjoyed our stay and will be the first choice next time if our travel is to Berlin.

Worrying beforehand about whether the Icelanic volcano would allow us to travel - we need not have worried. 20 minutes late into Berlin, then a 20 Euro taxi to Koepenick. Surprisingly luxurious modern hotel in what had been the East.. 20 minutes and at least one change to get into central Berlin, but all part of the experience, and obviously kept the cost well down. Coincided with Koepernick Music Festival in the old town, along the river bank, and in the Schloss grounds. Loads of superanuated (our era) Rock Bands - worth the trip alone.
When we thought the trip might have to be cancelled, we researched alternative UK breaks. Couldn't find anything remotely as good at twice the price. Spectacular value and quality (not always the same!).

Good place for the money

The hotel was nice for the price that you will have to pay in Berlin. The hotel is on a busy street with a great view of the river if you a lucky enough to have a room nearby. The restaurant is very nice, but you will have to pay a pretty Euro. This hotel has easy access to the autobahn. Overall, average hotel great price.

Inexpensive, nice hotel near Berlin

Prior reviews were really spot on with this hotel. Not really an issue with public transportation to get to heart of Berlin, as long as you have some experience and plan a bit. Would be very good choice if flying in & out of Berlin's airport.

Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind super. Das Frühstück ebenfalls sehr üppig und lecker. Die Gegend, direkt gegenüber vom Schloss Köpenick und an der Dahme. Leider hat die Bar ab 22:30 Uhr keine Kartenzahlung mehr akzeptiert und auch aufs Zimmer schreiben ging nicht. Das war ein kleiner Dämpfer.
