Very close to a metro station (2 min) and 30 min ride to town’s main attractions. Very kind staff. Place is old but okay. Only complaint is they didn’t clean the room as it was indicated.

Room clean and spacious. Top tip, there is a fan in the wardrobe, use it to keep room cool.
Hotel is a few minutes walk from the underground, which has regular trains, takes you into the heart of Berlin in just over 20 minutes.

If you’re staying in the Karlshorst area this is an excellent choice. A short walk from Tierpark U-Bahn and directly next to a tram stop it’s a clean, cheerful modern hotel with friendly staff and a lovely breakfast room. I dropped one star where I would only have deducted a half, because having requested a toilet roll at reception it never turned up. Despite breakfast not being included in my deal via Expedia, reception insisted it was despite my denials. Fine on the first morning but I was questioned on the second and required to pay. This wasn’t a problem as I had been prepared to pay anyway but reception need to double check this on arrival as it’s hard not to feel uncomfortable when staff are looming over your table! My room had no air conditioning which may be a deal breaker for some, especially as Berlin can get hot, but there were large openable windows so it wasn’t hard to cool the room and we have to save the planet after all!

Value hotel close access to public transportation especially Tierpark station U5 line perfect and takes you into centre of Berlin
Spacious room -but offered limited “extras” like no kettle tea/coffee making in room however
Would stay there again . Recommend if staying this side of Berlin going to visit Gärten der Welt fantastic

The room was very large. Hotel is a short walk to line 5 Ubahn. There is a grocery store nearby and a small restaurant. They have both a soda and beer vending machine for reasonable prices. Breakfast was good, although very crowded after 8:30 Saturday.

Positive: Suite spacious, light, good lighting for reading, modern bathroom. Modern style.

Negative: Frequently lost WiFi connection in room. Room had no safe or mini-bar or fridge to keep cold beverages.
Dining room closed every night I was there, which was very inconvenient. There are no good restaurants nearby, only a pretty basic pub. One night had to take tram to nearest decent one; another was suggested to order takeout from a pizza place.
Location pretty far from center of town. Was close to where I was visiting, and to zoo, but otherwise fairly isolated. But close to subway into town.

The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly, the room or studio was very large and comfortable.
The only negatives that concerned us was that there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room although there was a machine in the lobby that was 9 floors below our room. The other issue was that the sauna was available but at an audition cost even to paying guests!

Great hotel location; directly across from Berlin Tierpark (not the main Berlin Zoo, however, it is actually a lot bigger than the main Berlin Zoo and really nice). A bit of a hike to get to the SBahn from the hotel, but overall not a bad location - down the road is a shopping center with 24/7 doner and an Edeka/Rewe that doesn't close until midnight. At the same shopping center there's a UBahn. There's a tram in front of the hotel. In short there are a lot of transportation options for you from this hotel to get to Mitte (city center) in Berlin.

Great affiliated restaurant and expansive rooms.

All around this hotel had alright amenities but we were not treated well and I cannot recommend the hotel. Nice smaller rooms and relatively clean. Only one device at a time on the internet and the password was not given to us upon checkin.

Adequate and clean for a sightseeing holiday

We booked hotel Abacus for a sightseeing trip to Berlin as well as for a bit of a relaxation. The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff are all very helpful and polite. The restaurant provides lovely meals for breakfast and dinner and there is also a Local grocery shop close by. The hotel is close to the Tierpark underground station which is ideal if you intend to travel on your stay. The rooms are nicely clean although double beds are two singles pushed together which is quite uncomfortable with two individual duvets. The room also has no kettle or tea/coffee facilities which is disappointing. The hotel I believe has a gym and sauna however the sauna is only available if you pay €6.50 per person for use each time you use it. There is no free WiFi and you must pay for the code and depending on your length of stay you are charged accordingly.

The hotel was lovely, we booked it as we felt 4* was giving us a little something extra with the spa facilities and room conditions however these are all extra cost and did not quite meet our expectations. Location wise it is quite far out from the centre but it’s very close to the underground which links directly to the centre of the city and this is great for sight seeing and exploring the city

The hotel is in a good location close to downtown by rail and across the street form the Tierpark Gardens. Amenities are sufficient with lots of parking and an excellent breakfast for $13.00 Euros per person. Rooms are clean, spacious and quiet for all of your needs.

The troubles started from the very beginning. In my Expedia booking I asked for an early check-in. My reservation was confirmed with no mention of my request. When I arrived at the hotel, they refused to check me in. I think I could get a heads-up about the situation.

The worst thing about the hotel is that IT DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOM!!! in 35 (Celsius) this was terrible experience!

The team was very German like - efficient without a shred of curtesy.

The room was not clean. Tons of ants and various bags (mostly flow in as I kept the windows open and they were no nets on the windows. Some residue was noted on the bathtub as well.

great stay for non-locals

My husband and I have never used public transportation so staying away from the city center, we knew we would have to figure it out or pay a lot of money for parking. We were able to buy all necessary tickets at the front desk for the day/weekend.

The toilet water smells, so we figured out to keep the lid shut at all times and then the bathroom disnt stink. The sink water and bath water were much better.

Mini fridge was a nice bonus we hadnt planned on, good for leftovers!

Great breakfast, helpful staff, clean rooms. It's way out in East Berlin, but conveniently located by the trams and was within walking distance of my meetings. For this price, I was expecting a dump, but it was spotless and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again for meetings in this area. It is a Telekom hotspot, which is very convenient since internet isn't otherwise included. The connection was very fast.

Great hotel, value, and experience!

Chose this hotel because they are pet friendly and had free parking. Right across the street is a zoo that you can also bring your pup to, it was a great visit. Pet fee is 15€ a night. About a 15-20 minute drive to all the main Berlin attractions, but worth the free parking! Room was a great size for my husband and I. Highly recommend, great price and value for a Berlin hotel!

Perfect location and room for the price

The room was very clean and nice. It was small but every hotel in Europe is. The breakfast was not worth the price though. €25 for me and my husband to eat once and it wasn't much of a variety. The location was perfect. Walking distance to the park zoo and a market with fresh fruits and veggies and it was a short drive to the arena and multiple other things like restaurants. A bit far from the heart of berlin so don't plan on walking. The staff was polite and spoke English but seemed very distant when I spoke with them. Overall, we loved our stay and would stay here again!

Lacking lots of basic things for a 4 star hotel - no safe, no air con or temperature control in room( fine i you like to sweat), only wifi in one half of the building (at €5 for 15 mins), €5 every time you wanted to access the on site spa, the most uncomfortable beds and pillows I've ever slept in and that includes the times I've been camping! Staff were very friendly though and the room was clean.

Für ein Städtetrip sehr zu empfehlen. Sehr gute Anbindung an U-Bahn (Direktverbindung zum Hauptbahnhof und Brandenburger Tor) und Straßenbahn. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten wie Rewe, Rossmann, dm Drogeriemarkt sowie Getränke Hoffmann in der Nähe. Weiterhin Restaurants wie ein Italiener und Chinese. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber. Parkplätze auch kostenlos im öffentlichen Verkehrsraum zu finden. Abends vlei ein wenig schwieriger.

Das Zimmer hatte ingesamt 3 Steckdosen, für jemanden der geschäftlich unterwegs ist und Smartphone, Notebook etc. laden muss, eindeutig zu wenig. Die Zimmer befinden sich in einem alten Plattenbau, welcher nicht klimatisiert ist, im Hochsommer fällt daher noch eine weitere Steckdose für den Ventilator weg.

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, gute Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel.

Super nice place to stay

Stayed at Tierpark for few days during my trip and I must say that the rooms were very spacious and well maintained. The stay was very comfortable, check-in check-out processes were smooth and there is a free outside parking available next to the hotel which is really nice. Tram stop is few steps outside the hotel and public commute is very easy. City can be reached via public transport in 30 mins.

I will definitely visit again.

Der Aufenthalt (Nächte DZ) hat uns gut gefallen. Das Zimmer ist sehr geräumig, die Betten sind sehr gut (Matratzen, Kopfkissen). Schön wäre eine 2. Steckdose am Bett gewesen - es gibt auch Menschen, die nachts Hilfsgeräte anschließen müssen. Aber sonst alles gut.
Kleiner Minuspunkt: Wenn man (erfreulicherweise nach einer langen Nacht in Berlin) erst um 12 Uhr auschecken möchte, ist es kontraproduktiv, dass das Personal bereits um kurz vor 9 an die Türe klopft und mit dem Schlüssel versucht aufzuschließen, um das Zimmer zu reinigen. Konnte danach nicht mehr einschlafen - blöd!
Frühstück dürfte auch etwas kostengünstiger sein, zwar gute Auswahl, aber auch nichts Extravagantes für den Preis von 21 € pP/Tag.
Achtung, Parkplätze innerhalb des Hotelgeländes kosten 6 € pro Tag, gleich hinter dem Zaun: nix!
Aber wie gesagt, sonst alles toll. Nette Rezeption.

Umgebung annehmbar

Wir hatten einen geschäftlichen Termin in Berlin. Das Hotel lag in der Nähe unseres Termines. Lobby und Zimmer machten einen guten Eindruck, Sauberkeit und Frühstück ohne Beanstandungen. Die Hotelgastronomie hatte geschlossen- in der Nähe sind gute Gaststätten fußläufig erreichbar.
