Breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed it for three days. Dinner was disappointing. Breakfast was good, as there was no cooking, but the dinner was disappointing. The view and the building itself were all excellent.

The building was quite large, likely due to its past use as a convalescent hospital.
Although I paid a high price for breakfast, it was just as basic as what you’d get at a typical hotel with breakfast included.
The hotel room was extremely hot, and although I left the window open, too many bugs came in.

Vienna from on top of the hills

Nice hotel / chateau a bit off the usual places in Vienna. Easy too reach by public transportation ( really impressive schedules with high frequency), and with a nice view over Vienna and up to the Prater.

It was a lovely location on top of a hill overlooking Vienna. There was a bus stop just outside the property that took us right into the town. The rooms were clean and comfortable and I would recommend getting the breakfast added on prior to your arrival. It was a good selection and if the weather is nice you can sit on the terrace.

Gorgeous hotel on top of a hill!!!

Beautiful place to stay in Venice. Convenient bus that runs late takes you to subway which then takes you to all main attractions. Lovely restaurant on site and incredible vistas of the city. Highly recommend.

Impressive old mansion on a hill overlooking Vienna. Incredible city views at night and we were treated to a spectacular sunrise over the city in the morning too. The building itself has a checkered history, some of which was disturbing to read about, but the hotel has done a great job of utilising it for a memorable guest experience. Stunning views from the breakfast table and a great buffet breakfast.

Beautiful building in the outside. But quite old and not in the best shape inside. The rooms are dated and not in the best shape. No air conditioning. Tiny bathroom like on a plane. Elevator seems like of an old corner supermarket.
The good points:
Very nice staff! Great breakfast. Lovely view of Vienna from breakfast area. Very nice forests around the hotel.

Twin bed is not the same as double bed

The service at the hotel was excellent. The food in the restaurant was delicious although the service in the restaurant was not so good. The main issue is that it mentioned a double bed and then there was only twin beds! That was super annoying and ruined the whole experience. The hotel is kinda old (which has pros and cons) and not super clean.

As beautiful as it looks in the pictures, it is a stunning building with amazing rooms. The staff were so friendly. There was an amazing view over the city, and it was peaceful but there was still frequent public transport to get around. Will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful grounds. We really enjoyed walking the trails surrounding the hotel. Loved the loft bed suite with the great windows. Not a modern stay but that's what we enjoyed about it.

An old manor house that has been repurposed into a hotel. Easy parking in the grounds and lovely views over Vienna. The onsite restaurant was a bit odd: limited menu and no wine list (a glass of red or a glass of white) in a gazebo on the back of the hotel. The room was on two levels so you have negotiate a raised platform and stairs if you go to the loo in the night.

Really cool to stay in a palace. It’s outdated but what I expected when staying in an old building. The restaurant was a bit expensive. Loved that the parking onsite was free. The view was also amazing, just know it is a bit of a drive to the city.

We stayed here for one week in January. The hotel is very nice and the staff were extremely helpful. It's a bit outside the \"main\" part of the city, but the mass transit is very easy to navigate.

Not a 4 star property; bedding is cheap and old. No blackout curtains prevent sleeping past day break. Plumbing issues make any time in the bathroom a real 3rd world experience

Nice hotel spoiled by the location, it is set on the edge of, or partialy in a public park. As a result not only do you have randoms picnicking outside your window, the noise from kids playing in the parkmeans an early nights sleep in summer is not possible.

The hotel has street charm and appeal. Great views over the city and close to public transport. I was offered an upgrade to my room which I took, but the rooms were dated. I travelled alone and made sure I booked for two people as I like to sleep in a double or queen bed, only to find two single bed pushed together, that would have been okay but even the bedding was for single beds.

Wonderful and quiet with easy travel to the city.

Do not be put off by the distance to the city. 1 bus straight to underground and foolproof train journey from the terminus, total 1/2 hour. So if you value quiet location in stunning old himperial hunting lodge set in woods & fab views of the city with free parking, we would recommend it.

The Botel is old and the condition is deteriorating. Heating systems are antiquated and either to hot or when turned off makes a load squeaking noise.

Food is absolutely the worst possible and should be avoided at all costs

Staying in a Schloss - WOW! Parts of our stay were exactly as we were hoping for, however given the time of year (Christmas), we probably expected a little much from the reception staff. The dining room staff were excellent and extremely helpful. The menu and presentation were also well above par, even though the food generally did not suit the 11 year old's palate. Great view from the Terrace over Vienna, made even better when snow started falling.

I was travelling on my own and have mobility restru tions but they offered me a room that was on two levels ie the bed was on a mezzanine with about eight steps. to climb. They did change the room BUT both rooms felt like I was literally in one corner out of the way, that being said hotel is very clean and stands in its own grounds, food at all meals is not the cheapest but is of high standard....staff are helpful. The rooms to be honest do look as if they have seen better days furniture wise BUT they are clean...if I visit Vienna again I would consider staying here again.

great view out onto the city of Wien. fairly easy to find with our rental car GPS. only stayed 1 night as a stop over before heading east towards Salzburg so not sure how easy it would be to get back into the city of Vienna each day if that was the intent of the trip

Great Hotel, beautiful location

We stayed here while we visited Vienna. It has easy access to mass transit - bus stop right out front. The morning breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. We also had tea one afternoon and it was delightful. The view of the city of Vienna from the hotel is breathtaking. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our stay.

+ Breakfast buffet (surcharge) had good choices and leaves you satisfied although a bit pricy
+ Room is cosy and light switches are smartly placed (also one master switch at the bed)
+ Enough heaters to make the room warm
+ Clean and comfortable in general
+ When the snow started, their own snow plower started clearing the driveway quite fast
- smaller size of the bathroom/shower
- bath towels smelled a bit odd
In my opinion the hotel was an almost flawless and definitely joyful experience, which I highly recommend.

Great location but needs remodeling

Check in was quick except the fuse blew and room went dark! The fuse box was painted shut! We got it open by getting the paint off! The location is amazing. It is near a park. It is great for hiking and running. The worst part was the room smelling like a wet dog. If you have your dog with, you are all set! The place needs to be renovated.

Fun history; quirky room

The building and its history are amazing. The night we stayed, there was a big function taking place in the main area on the second floor so we couldn't explore like we would want to. Otherwise, the room was comfortable. The stairs leading to the loft bedroom were very creaky and impossible to use in the middle of the night without waking everyone in the room. And the bathroom is semi-private, which annoys me.

Good parking & public transport to city centre

Very impressive building and grounds with plenty of parking space although hotel less modern inside but very clean and functional rooms - the four star rating seems high compared to other hotels I've statyed at - no gym , pool and slow lifts and so this is not fir those who like everything modern and shiny. We stayed for a night to visit Vienna while staying near Salzburg for main holiday. Good value for money when we stayed and enjoyed breakfast (extra) and view from restaurant. Easy public transporft to Vienna city centre by bus from outside hotel to U barn and then straight into centre taking about 45 mins to an hour.

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was perfect. Beautiful view from the veranda and our room. Would be a lovely place for a Christmas party or wedding! Definitely would recommend staying here. Convenient to transit is a huge plus. If I'm ever in Vienna again, the Trend Schloss would be my go to place.

We really enjoyed our stay here. So much history and so grand. Our room was an executive one and bed was upstairs so if you don't want stairs then ask for a different one. Bathroom was beautiful but downstairs. View amazing and grounds so lovely. Very much worth a stay here. So quiet and only 20 mins from city centre.

Beautiful view over Vienna.

Perfect situation high up with panoramic view over the whole city. The Vienna woods provide perfect walking facilities.
The hotel itself has very impressive facilities true to its period.
It is situated in extensive grounds . Parking is free. The bus stop is just outside the hotel entrance. Buses are frequent
and connect to the underground which means the city centre, Stephansplatz can be reached in 15 - 20 minutes.

We stayed one night since we attended a wedding taking place here. Great view of the city below. Public transport very good (bus every 10 minutes or so). The hotel needs a renovation (except for the room bathroom which was excellent). The serice was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices but also many many flies on the food.

If you like historical character hotels this is for you. Lots of surrounding walkways in woodlands. Some distance though from metro shops. Bus stops right outside entrance for connection to underground and metro shops.
