The photo I was sent on my confirmation for a king suite pool access was in fact an ocean front room and that was what I was expecting - what we got was a room where the only place to sit was on the bed - there was nothing KING about it or a suite as I know it - we have been to many 5 star resorts and this left us disappointed. I tried to upgrade and we were told they were full except 2 rooms around us were empty and I have no idea what else was - we did offer to pay. I will not be booking with Hotels.com again as I feel the booking was misrepresented in terms of the photo which was nothing like our room.

Incredible!! One of the best hotel experiences for us. Private pool was much bigger than expected, the accomendation is gorgeous! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Couldn’t recommend more highly! Also the beach that he hotel backs onto is stunning!

Spotless rooms, amazing food, best bed ever! The outstanding service and fantastic location. I loved the hotel, especially the second floor terrace with the day sofa bed. I would definitely recommend this hotel for romantic gateway or for sole travelers looking for luxury and solitude.

This was my third time staying at this hotel and I was very pleased to find nothing had changed in the last 8 years as it's gone from being Le Meridien to The Lamai. Staff are extremely helpful, friendly and professional at all times and keep the whole resort immaculately maintained.

Hotel reception use WhatsApp to make arrangements and updates hassle free - whether arranging transfers, updating on events around the hotel, or general queries.

I stayed in a room a tier up from the type with a shared pool I'd stayed in before - the Pool Villa granted me my own (circa 6m sq) pool, 2 loungers and an shaded seating area with ceiling fan.

As a smaller boutique resort it was lovely and peaceful, whilst I don't think it's formally adult only, it feels refined and mature.

Getting into the heart of Lamai is a short (1-2km) walk, and can mostly be done along the beach. Taxis and scooter taxi can be easily booked via the Grab app, with a scooter turning up in a typical 3mins and fare to the centre no more than 60baht.

The hotel recommended a hire company which I hired my own scooter from for the duration of the stay and the ring road makes exploring the island and it's sights easy - you can easily get into more rural hilly areas within 15mins ride from the hotel.

I really enjoyed the tranquility of my two week stay and I didn't want to leave (must ensure my next stay doesn't have an 8 year gap)

We stayed in a pool villa with ocean views and it was wonderful. A real buy. The hotel grounds are lovely and our villa was beautiful with traditional architecture. The only thing that nobody tells you is you cant really swim in the ocean at the property too swallow. There is a lovely beach a ten minute walk though.

This is a lovely relaxing place to stay on Koh Samui. At a price. Beach access is great and you are only a 30minute stroll down the beach to the hustle and bustle of Lamai Town (or 5 mins in a taxi).
The food was average but there are many much better options close by at a fraction of the price.
We stayed in a pool access room and having seen other rooms we felt we had made the right choice.,

Hotel is very nice, designed in a nice Thai style, we took the plunge pool room, which was nice but the toilet is outdoors so a little hot and humid ..
staff very accommodating, and very nice.

Location is in the outskirts of Lamai , so to go to the market or the Main Street you need a taxi / scooter.

Stayed in Pool Villa. Had a small private pool in our villa. The only thing is the shower and bathroom were outside ( outdoors) of the bedroom. A bit inconvenient and lots of mosquitoes!

5 nights in Lamai

We were blown away with the beachfront villa that we had. We were impressed with the authentic look and feel of the villa but also in the fact that it had everything that we needed. The room was cleaned every day, the staff were very attentive and made you feel very welcome. The property is on the main road but is set well back and is very quiet. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely, the spread for breakfast was perfect and delicious. We especially enjoyed the privacy of having your own pool and couldn't have asked for anything more for our honeymoon! You won't be disappointed if you stay at this hotel.

The staff were very nice and the hotel has a lot of potential, however it’s very dated and old and is not very well maintained. We chose this hotel as it was “5 star” and the photos online looked great, however once we arrived we soon learned it’s not more than a 3 star hotel and the photos were not as good as we saw online.

It feels like they have just let the hotel go, with rusty equipment, dirty and broken sun lounges and the beach is not usable and sadly is not actually on Lamai beach.

The rooms were nice, however dark and for a so called 5 star hotel they give you instant coffee and a kettle. The air conditioning was also very temperamental and despite them coming to fix it one night it didn’t work and we spent the night sweating.

The breakfast was nice but again only 3 star quality.

I would not stay here again and do think they need to update the hotel and/or not charge the same prices as more luxurious hotels.

Unstable Wifi in our 4 days stay, we told to the staff but Wifi remained unstable.
We expect 5 stars hotel to provide spa with Sauna and Jaccuzzi, hotel asks 800 bhat per hour for whirpool bath (was empty) and there is no Sauna.
The hotel has too many stairs - 26 stairs to the lobby then you need to walk 100-200 meters and then climb another 26 stairs to your room - very unplesent.
Pool was clise at 18:00 which is really rediculous.
So sorry, for this price, for a 5 stars resort I was highly dissappointed.

Used to be an amazing nice hotel and In immaculate condition when it was run by Les Meridian. We had stayed there multiple times pre-COVID. Now it’s looking very dated, nothing to do in the hotel (they used to run little events- cooking lessons etc..). Now there’s really nothing to do there.

The beach front is dirty and full of litter, plastic and dead fish. This small beach area in front of the hotel used to be cleaned regularly and this is no longer the case. I see other hotels cleaning their beach area daily - this hotel does not.

Also Lamai and the immediate area around the hotel also seems to have not recovered from Covid - places we used to go to are gone etc..

All this and they still charge what Les Meridian charged when it’s not as good seems unreasonable.

This was our third and last time we will stay there - which is a shame. No fault of the staff and people working there- they are brilliant, just seems to be the people running it trying to do it on the cheap.

Food menu was very limited, hotel needs maintenance. Beach was rocky underwater difficult to swim had to stick to the pool and toilet in room you could not put toilet paper in it. Open bin was provided but that is embarrassing

Fantastic stay on Koh Samui

The staff were fantastic, the breakfast was amazing and overall the resort was very good. The only reasons for being 4 and not 5 star were the number of steps everywhere ( my wife suffers from bad joints) and the water treatment in the swimming pools stung the eyes. Otherwise all good and recommended.

We booked this hotel last minute as our previously booked and paid for hotel cancelled last minute. We were so happy at The Lamai Samui. It was serene, pool was gorgeous, staff friendly and food was great. We had 5 nights in total, 1 in a terrace room and 4 in a private pool villa. Pool villa was lovely, very private and loads of space. We were sad to check out and wished we were staying. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Very dark room, bathroom was open shower and it smelled. Tv far too small for room and hardly any channels in English, you would expect satellite tv in a 5 star establishment. Drawers kept sticking, furniture old and not too clean either. Pool was nice. Very shabby hotel

The property was beautiful at night with the lights in the dining area and around the trees. I especially liked the dock extending from the beach. The breakfast buffet was great and enjoyable with the view of the pool and beach. The staff was very friendly and efficient. It was great to use the mats in the fitness center to stretch and do yoga.

This property is beautifully set in an established garden on Lamai beach. The rooms are nicely designed with a classic style that suits the tropics. We were very impressed by the friendly service that always did there best to assist inspite of being a team that is only 1/5 of what it was pre Covid.

I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone, especially if you can indulge yourself with a stay at their beach villa, so very beautiful.

The staff were all first class at this property. The concierge was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on checkin and through our stay. The Ocean Front Private Pool Villa was stunning. My partner and I did not want to leave, it was such a treat.
Refreshing welcome drink on arrival. Welcome fruit in our villa. It had such a lovely vibe. The double deck chair to relax and take in the ocean view one way, another chill out area to get an alternate view, the pool with lights and jets, the frangipani tree overhanging, giving some shade and dropping beautiful fragrant flowers into the water. We just loved it all.
Housekeeping were very thorough. New covers on the deck chairs and chill cushion, cleaning the pool, every little detail.
The restaurant has 2 levels and we sat upstairs all the time, which looks down on the main pool and on to the ocean and pier. The food was amazing and the cocktails were fantastic. The service and staff at the restaurant and indeed everywhere on the property were second to none. Would love to go back for a longer stay.

Pleasant staff and breakfast buffet nice pool, beach and location. Frightful price for very small room and under size small bed for my adult son. Room very in need of maintenance with windows not meeting in middle and a large gap to invite the mosquitos in. Stayed 15 nights, the 15th was due to a flight booking issue and boy did Le Meridien bite for that 15th night. Real money grab as I paid on check in for the extra might, and then on check out with the transport waiting they said oh no you have to pay more our staff made an error. Never again. Mean and miserable. Donuts at $7 each OMG. Never again. Stay at Chaweng!

We stayed in their second highest category room. The Property is very dated and tired looking. Very few outlets- and no USB outlets of course. Even the pavilion pool suite where we stayed (and nearly all the other rooms) have no ocean view or any view for that matter. There is no beach— At all. No swimming in the sea at all even from the pier which is in very shallow water- even dry sometimes. Finally, they have priced everything without regard to the local economy- no one we met at the resort eats there, and no one we met got massages there, because the food and massage are better and a fraction of the price right next door and everywhere else in the area. The breakfast was about $30 US equivalent, which is fine in San Diego or London... but just doesn’t fit at Koh Samui.

The hotel was beautiful and set out very nicely, we just wanted to relax for 5 days chill out around the pool or on the beach, the food was great as well as the drinks, the rooms were also very comfortable, we booked a terrace suite which was very clean and it had everything you need and was made up and turned down daily.

Love the way the architect designed spaces to lead the guest from a busy road through a calm cobblestone walkway, a waterfall flanked walkway, a few steps, and finally an entryway centered on a pool of water. The rooms are close to each other, but the privacy is profound. We opted for a suite with private pool. While we enjoyed the main pool and beach, we enjoyed the private pool and opportunity for nude bathing and sunning. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

I should spend time to write a review for this hotel. I was expected to stay at Le Meridien during my vacation in Koh Samui but got huge disappointed. First, airport pick up: by an old big van, very dirty and uncomfortabe, not worth for 1000 baht (about $30), compared to other hotel pick up. Second, check-in: we was waiting about 15 minutes for staff check-in without any welcome drink (that came late after we finish). Staffs was not giving any smile welcome.
Third, the room: we booked a pool suite that looked nice in pictures. In real, it was smaller than expected, just look like an normal room with an open yard for the pool. Water in there was so cold (even in summer) to stay in more than 3 minutes. The resort was nice design in a heritage style, but not practical at all. WE had to request to downgrade into a normal room with a bathtub that we can practical use it.
4th, we booked a Unlock Package that came with several benefits. But when we checked with a female staff, she inform that the package not included breakfast (but for sure included when we booked). We have to ask her to double check, then it came out that breakfast included. Unprofesional staff!!!
5th, we called to book a free shuttle to Chaweng Beach as in their program but later was call back to inform that it was fully booked (only for 10 people). It should be note by hotel that we should book early to get in that 10 people. It's a peak season so too many people stay at the hotel. they just said fully booked!

Got a room with no view, neTx to the car entrance. Lots of steps to get to the room. Mosquito Infested. We were there less than 1 hour and my wife got over 30 bites. We did not stay at that hotel. Yes it was dark when we arrived because Bangkok Airways had a 3 hour delay, they put us in a different flight and downgraded us to economy. It was s Nighmare.

We absolutely loved staying at the Le Meridian. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade. Unfortunately there was a problem with the air conditioning however the hotel staff were quick to resolve the issue and upgraded us to an even more beautiful room.

The customer service at this resort was amazing and we absolutely loved the luscious green gardens.

If you are going to stay at this resort would highly recommend the room with pool access.

Complimentary shuttles to/from different beaches are very useful for getting around as taxis and transport are exorbitant. The hotel overall is slightly aged but very well maintained. Rooms were clean and was exactly as we saw from the pictures so the pictures were not deceiving.

Le Méridien is now our hotel of choice. Everything about the facilities and the customer service was outstanding. There was thought in the design of the room to maximise natural light, open space and privacy. The furnishing were of the highest quality. The Latest Recipe restaurant had the most delicious Thai beef salad and prawn salad we’ve ever eaten. I’ve travelled to 64 countries and cities and this hotel is in my top 2.

Disappointing stay we were looking for a 5 star experience , unfortunately this ended once we got to room . Room was tired and dirty stains on bedding and floor mats . Room was overlooked no privacy . A/C did not cool down sufficiently felt stuffy at night .
Pool area is small enough you have to look after your own towels etc .( not like the other 5 stars we stayed in on the island )

The staffs are very friendly! Excellent services but lots of mosquito in the hotel room. The staff already help to putting the anti-mosquito spray in our room daily but it still got a lot of mosquitos. For friend and I got like 10 mosquito bites each on our legs.

We were collected from the airport upon our arrival, check-in was prompt and we were upgraded to a suite with direct pool access. Everything was so well organised and swift.
We had a fantastic nine days at Le Meridien, so relaxing and the hotel has a lovely ambiance.
I cannot praise the hotel staff enough, they are amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome.
The whole experience from start to finish was fabulous and we hope to return to Le Meridien again very soon!!

Great staff and service.
The property itself is beautifully designed but the location leaves much to be desired. The beach isn't a swimming beach at all and is polluted. The hotel itself has a terrible mosquito infestation and the guest rooms are heavily infested. Breakfast selection is too limited and quality of food is mediocre at best.

Beautiful hotel, with well appointed and spacious rooms. Breakfast buffet was very good as was the Thai dinner we had one night. The salmon curry was one of the best dishes I've tasted in a long time, def recommend.

Good gym and well maintained, decen main pool near the 'beach' which provided a lovely setting day and night and happy hour cocktails were great.

We also had a direct access to a more private pool for each of the three rooms we had which was fantastic.

I cannot really fault too much with this place and highly recommend it. I would definitely stay here again.

No Beach At Hotel

No beach at hotel--had to take 200 baht (US$6) taxi ride to nearest beach. Rooms were outstanding--we got the grand villa w/private pool, etc and it was great. Breakfast buffet was disappointing; adequate, but not up to standards of a upper crust/upper priced hotel. The cooks doing the eggs to order had no idea what they were doing; thought they may have been North Korean Army mess hall rejects!

Don't book a standard room.

It was not what I expected, but the resort grew on me over the 5 days we were there. A standard room is odd...upstairs with views of tile roofs and a bathroom that's mostly outdoors. Did not appeal to me, or live up to 5* billing. It got better when we upgraded to a room with a shared pool, which was a nice feature. The service was outstanding throughout.

Nice hotel

The hotel used to be first class hotel, but it can be seen the year . It is an old hotel. I don’t think the price per night worth it. The room are nice but not big. The same rates you can find a bigger room. All the room with out view, and more than that in one side is the enter of the room that this is the window of the room , the other side is the bath . There is no any view from the room.

Nice and quiet

This hotel was great being a boutique resort. There is only one pool which can get crowded (it does state this on the website).

The food was ok, only one restaurant which limits choices unless you go out to the beach. We had a private dining experienced on our deck in our room, this was fabulous, great food and ambience.

The floating boardwalk was great, you could go out and go for a swim and then sunbake on the deck.

One thing that annoyed us - we ordered 2 glasses of champagne, waiter delivered to our table, and halfway through our glass came back and said it was only sold by the bottle and we had to pay for the full bottle (even though we ordered from the menu, by the glass) $200 AUD later..... a bit tipsy but pretty annoyed.

Overall a great resort, beautiful scenery, I wouldn't recommend for kids, but for couples it's fantastic.

5* HOTEL ON THE BEACH

Nice hotel on a sandy beach. We had a pool access room. Very nice room with all the comforts that one can expect from a 5* hotel. There where about 6 rooms with access to the same pool (large enough). The only negative was that rooms had full optical access one to the other so practically most of the time we had our curtains closed.
The hotel is just 5-10 min drive from the most popular area, Chaweng, and the cost of the taxi is 400 - 500 THB. Taxis do not use taximeters so better negotiate the price before you go.
We found hotel spa expensive, but there is a small massage center exactly next to the hotel on the beach with good service and reasonable prices.
The main pool is small and only 1.20mtrs deep, that we found a bit strange for a 5* hotel (that claims to be a resort), but at least during our stay (not high season) that was not a problem.
Overall we had a good stay.

Horrible experience with family. Complete let down

Had lots of problems and issues during my stay here. Had booked 5 rooms for family and friends to celebrate my wifes birthday.
Very inexperienced and rude staff and poorly maintained hotel property.
Didnt bothered to do anyhting for my wifes birthday inspite of me being a gold SPG member and me asking them to arrange for a cake.
Lacks a proper conceirge service desk.

Worn out Hotel

I had booked 5 rooms at this hotel with my other family and friends. I had decided to celebrate my wifes birthday there. We arrived on the day of the birthday and I informed the hotel reception about my wish to celebrate her birthday there. I requested them to arrange for a cake or order one for me, and i was suprised to hear that they couldnt arrange for one. I thought being a gold member of SPG would entitle me of such benefits. I had to go out and buy a cake from a local bakery.
Such is the quality of the staff here. The resort has been designed very well but the maintenance of it is below standard.
Had many issues with the staff at several occassions including room allotments etc. One of the evenings all of us were in the pool at around 6.15 pm a staff member came to us and asked us reduce the nosie of the kids or leave the pool. Note that the pool timins were till 7 pm. The reason given to us was that it was dinner time and other people would get disturbed.
We had a horrible experience there.
Would not recommend this property to anyone

Nice Relax Resort. Friendly Staff

Check in process was smooth and quick. Staff are friendly and helpful. Got upgraded to villa with direct pool access. Fantastic room. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. One of the few hotels that provide lots of complimentary drinking water daily. love it.

the only - point is, the free wifi connectivity in the room was pretty weak.

Relaxed Resort and good food

Great location close to Silver beach which is stunning and Lamai beach.
A nice relaxed resort with friendly staff and we were impressed with the Thai food at Latest Recipe - sit upstairs and enjoy the beautiful view.
My only negative comment would be the pool towels are getting pretty old and worn out so could do with replacing....doesn't reflect well on a 5 star resort

Great hotel with excellent staff

We loved our stay here. The rooms are lovely and the staff are great - polite, attentive and very helpful.

The staff went above and beyond to make my marriage proposal on the ocean pier restaurant that extra bit special! Dinner on the pier is a must!

The hotel itself is beautiful, including a stunning courtyard and pool side restaurant and bar with amazing views to the pool and sea.

Breakfast is good, though not quite incredible (eg scrambled eggs are too sweet, fruit was quite dry and not sweet)

Only a couple of very slight downsides:
- The beach at the hotel isn't great - though the hotel runs a daily shuttle service into lamai
- The hotel is slightly away from main restaurant areas such as lamai or chaweng. Whilst you can use the daily complimentary shuttle, you might also want to hire a scooter.
- Dining on the pier is dependent on calm weather and no rain - which can't always be guaranteed

The hotel is old and dated, poor service.

Hotel send my luggages to me after an hour and 3 calls to front desk. And the hotel people who bring us to room never teach us how to use the door key, as they have unique key because of their funny glass door! The room pool is dirty. And don't even provide shower soap until you call front desk, then they apologize. I request for late check out when I check in. They said depending on the date of my checking out which I can only get confirmation on check out morning and I have call personally to check if my room is available for late check out on the very day of check out! My experience of such statement!
No welcome letter, no welcome fruits nor drinks! Terrible for resort hotel!
