The room toilet was not clean, it seemed that they don't use cleaning products to desinfect.
No good provision of body soap.
The pillow bed was smelly, seemeed not changed.
The square pillow was even worse.
Breakfast is good.
I would suggest personnal at the reception can be seeing upon arrival, you only see a head.
For a 4 star hotel is way far from the 4 star.
3 star the most.

We really enjoyed our stay . The hotel was very nice and quiet and well located for transport links. We always walked into town via the river which was a lovely, scenic walk. The breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend and return.

Check-in lady was very nice, otherwise it was a bit dissappointing. The worst was the smell from the brevery just across the street and breakfast was nothing extra. Rooms were OK, location good, close to the metro station. Was not bad, but we will not stay again.

Good location hotel! 30 minute walk from Old Town down the beautiful river. Public transport nearby. Basic buffet style breakfast, but everything you could want was provided! Basic rooms with all the facilities you could need. The staff were the highlight, so helpful and friendly :-) the young gentleman who was there when we checked in was particularly delightful. Thank you!

Great staff, check the amenities

Helpful staff at this hotel always willing to help and advise. I was in room 26 in the annex which was not directly accessible by lift so had to carry my case up a flight of stairs. There is a lift to the 1st floor however, from the main building, and you then need to cross the walkway to get to the annex. The good thing is that there are only three floors in the annex. The room was large and spacious, as was the bathroom. The walls are quite thin as I could hear next door's shower and bath running, so a peaceful night's sleep was not had. Bedding was a bit strange too - with the duvet in the cupboard and a narrow bedspread across the centre of the bed - so I basically had to make my bed! There was no shower screen/curtain will led to a very wet floor.
The rooms in the annex have an outdoor area for each room, for room 26 this was quite a large decked space, and a nice surprise, in which to relax.
It is out of the way from the centre, a 31 mins walk, but is definitely walkable. I'm m not quite sure how this is a 4-star hotel though as there is no restaurant and no room service after breakfast. There are a few restaurants nearby, but these tended to be Asian restaurants or traditional Czech pubs. Lavande is a nice restaurant and a 10-mins walk away.

Nice hotel, very near to the bus station from the Airport and to the tram. On abt a few stops to the center. The area around of the hotel is quiet, we slept well. The hotel is clean, the check-in was fast, took only a minute. The staff is polite. Breakfast is very good as well.

It’s definitely not a 4star hôtel as they claim because first they don’t have a bell boy or anyone to help with the luggage and especially , in the case of this hotel , they gave me a room in the second where I go to the first floor by lift then to the second floor by staircase and no one to help with the luggage or show me where the room is , it’s like a maze, I had to go down to the the reception and ask the lady there to show me the room so she had to leave the reception to do that because she was the only person in the hotel, knowing that I arrived in the evening on a Friday. Moreover, there is no Restaurant in the hotel or room service at least. The lobby is so small and not comfortable at all. Room is big and clean while the breakfast was average

Our Group Visit to Prague

The hotel quality is certainly above our expectations. We booked 3 rooms for 6 people. Service was good except for checking-in. There are 2 buildings and the receptionist at check-in should show us the way to our rooms as the layout can be confusing. However, the rooms are well appointed, clean, with towel warmers, toiletries, kettle, large desks, nice towels, bedding, nice bathrooms and a nice view of the well-maintained courtyard with flowers. Rooms are quiet. Breakfast is excellent, with pancakes, liver pate, fruits, all kinds of cheeses, juices, cold cuts, breads. We cannot ask for more. Hotel is located very close to Andel Metro and it is very accessible. We even took many trams for sightseeing on our own. Visit the Husa restaurant (try their pork knuckle cooked with beer) right next to the brewery across the street and use the trams stops (#5, 12, 20) right outside the restaurant. You can then transfer to the 'scenic trams' #22, 17 and 9. The hotel is also steps away from KFC and McDonald's. We go there for ice creams and milk shakes as Prague was under an unusual heat wave during our visit. The hotel staff was kind enough to pack our breakfast as we had to leave before 7 am to catch our flight.

Good location next to metro and trams. Breakfast was adequate. Room size and bathroom were quite big.WiFi was poor. Could have been a great stay but for two issues. One the curtain size was small and a lot light came into the room which disturbed our sleep. Two the double bed was two single beds joined together.The staff at the reception were quite friendly.

We had a warm welcome at the hotel. It is a good mile or more away from the main tourist hot spots but there is a tram at the end of the road that takes you to Charles Bridge and the base of the Castle. The area around the hotel is a little industrial. Once inside the rooms were warm (it was December), clean and quite spacious. The breakfast was tasty and a wide selection from cooked to cereals to pancakes to fruit, yogurt and breads and as much as you wanted. The lady on the front desk always smiled and gave lots of useful information. If you want glamour, this is not for you but if you want comfortable and good value then this could be for you!

A lovely hotel with spacious rooms with small balconies. Very clean and well kept with air conditioning and big windows. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is open all night so you can come and go as you please. It is just about walkable to and from the town centre if you like walking, but the metro and trams have stops very nearby and tickets are cheap so getting around is really easy. The breakfasts are served from 7.30-10.30 so lots of flexibility and the buffet was restocked constantly so there was always a lot of choice, although it did get quite busy around 8.30. Kettle in room (very important) and earl grey tea bags provided so I was very pleased - plus the staff gave us a whole carton of milk so we didn't have to used the packet stuff. My only complaint is that the bed was quite hard and the pillows very soft, which took a bit of getting used to.

Excellent Small Hotel

This is a very good value for money hotel. There was work going on at the adjacent building but I knew that when I booked so I can't complain about that. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but with the amount of places to eat in the vicinity, would I have eaten in the hotel, probably not. The hotel is opposite the Staropramen brewery visitor centre. We were not disturbed at all by any brewery noise, but we did not have a room facing it. Our room was very clean and serviced every day. The bed was comfortable, shower good. mini-bar also. The hotel is obviously well cared for and WiFi worked well. The breakfast here was excellent IMO. A choice of continental hams and cheese, egg, bacon, beans, pancakes and sweet pastries. The reception staff were super ( Denise deserves a pay-rise) full of info re tram, metro travel, places to eat etc. The hotel is literally only a 3 minute walk to the nearest tram stop for the Prague Castle/ Charles Bridge area ( tram No 12 ) and 6/7 minute stroll to the nearest metro station with a good number of places to eat in this area.

The best deal - great hotel!

I stayed twice in the hotel Angelis in October 2015. The price was so good that I have chosen this hotel over apartment renting. Breakfast was also included, so that was a big plus.
Location worked for me as well - far enough from busy tourists places (meaning cheaper restaurants in the neighborhood), but pretty close to the center as well. It's 10-15 minutes to get to the Charles bridge and to the center as well. There is also a huge supermarket just 2 blocks from the hotel (with food court).
The rooms were very clean. I think the hotel was probably renovated recently. It didn't have that specific carpet smell you get in most of the older hotels. Great and spacious bathroom. High ceilings. It's in the older building, so it has a character.
The rooms have cattle, mini-bar and safe. There is no iron, but you can get one on reception.
I have read reviews before I went there and somebody mentioned noise from the nearby factory, but it didn't bother me. It doesn't work at night and during the day if you have windows closed you can barely hear it (the windows are very good, they block most of the sound).
My rooms had views to the court yard and nice terrace. I wander if they put tables there in summer. Also, I had a little view of the Vysehrad.
It was very quiet in the hotel all the time.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
It felt like staying at good friends house :)

The hotel is situated and calm place, yet super easy access to city center. It is secure as long as you need to ring the bell to get entrance opened (sometime short wait was necessary), only thing I am missing is decent air conditioning for hot and humid summer days.

The hotel itself is OK, the staff members are nice. The location is the only thing, which is not totally ideal since I'm not a beer-fan (it is next to a large brewery complex) - but it can't be changed easily... :))

Hotel Angelis Prague

I have stayed at a few other locations in the Prague City 5 Andel area. I found the Angelis to be a very good value, and had a very comfortable stay there. The staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was very good, and my room was clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate to book at this hotel again. I also enjoy that it is just a short walk from the Metro Andel Station. I always get 24 hour Metro tickets, which is the best value for getting around in Prague. Prague has a wonderful transportation network, which is easy to learn and use.

The hotel was VERY good value for the money. It is not walking distance to the old city, but I rather liked the location. It is in a neighborhood called Smichov, which provides a great \"slice of life\" view of Prague, great local pubs and restaurants, and a metro station two blocks away that can get you anywhere you need to go in Prague. It is also located across the street from a local brewery that gives tours. The breakfast was great and FREE. Front desk staff was very helpful. Room was decent...slight weird smell but seemed clean.

Charming and Inexpensive!

I found the Hotel Angelis to be a wonderful surprise. Prague hotels are generally quite expensive so I had low expectations based on how low the rate was. Happily, this is a very nice hotel in a location convenient to tram, bus, and metro service, as well as a large modern mall. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Prague who doesn't need luxurious accommodations or ridiculous prices.

The stay was so pleasant..especially that the Hotel is located in prague 5. Away from the center and all distructed tourists, the hotel is located in a nice, calm and relaxed area where rarely you see tourists there. It was good for me as you can see the real prague residents and life. There is a big shopping center nearby with an excellent shops and resturants. A convient and delecious resturant ( Porefena HUSA) is one block away. 15 min walk to castle with a nice walk and shops arrounds made my trip so special.

The hotel was very good and had a good breakfast. It was very close to transit, and just a few minutes walk to shopping and dining. The front desk was not helpful as they sent us looking for a laundary facility that had been closed for years when we asked for one, they told us there was only one restaurant in the neighborhood (which was below ground level and had a smell) when there were lots about a five minutes walk away, and when asked for the location of an info place circled much of the old city. The front desk seemed incomvenienced when we asked for any type of info.

The Hotel Angelis is a lovely hotel not too far from Prague's main tourist attraction (it is both walkable and easily accessible via public transportation). The only gripe? The instant coffee provided at breakfast, and the slightly mish-mash selection of cured meat, pate, and other perishables that you would usually have as a late supper. Lets just say, the breakfast was not of the highest standard. Otherwise the hotel was lovely for its 3 star rating(by European standards)- a surprising delight in fact.

What a nice surprise! Very pleasant hotel and all staff.
We received friendly services from Honza, it helped us to feel at home. Such a great location, close to the tram and metro. Loved the restaurant U Buldoka, Preslova 1, Praha 5, not too far from the Angel metro station and the shopping center, great food and friendly staff. We'll return to both of them when visiting Prague again. We took a train to Slovakia and it was very comfortable and convenient. Once you learn your closest metro station or tram station it is hard to get lost. Previous hotel reviews helped me a lot as well.

*****Would Stay Again!!!!*****

Just off the Andel metro station, this hotel is great. It's a little off the path form the city centre, but the area around the Andel station is bustling in it's own right. There is a Czech brewery right next to the hotel - and they do tours in English every day. I walked to Prague Castle in about 25 minutes.

The hotel is very well kept - you can tell they take pride in themselves. They lock the doors between 00:00 - 06:00 so security is well-maintained. The front desk is very helpful. Breakfast is quick and convenient with acceptable options.

The only downfall I would say is that wireless internet, although worked well in the lobby, did not work well in my room at all. I was staying on the third floor - perhaps too high up from the router???

A taxi ride from the museum (centre) is only 150Kc (about 4-5GBP). Other than that - the only reason I would not stay here again is just to be in city centre - and there's really no need to.

The hotel itself is based in the middle of the Staropramen Brewery. It is a 35 minute brisk walk to the centre of Prague or a metro station is 5 minutes walkaway (Andel).

Nearby is a large shopping complex with a Tesco open from 0700 to 2400.

The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable and the staff very pleasant. I would have no issues with stopping here again. Even managed to park on the street without any trouble.

The kettle, fridge and safe in the room were very welcome.

If you do not mind that it is not directly in the city centre (although it is not such a long walk to metro / tram station, big shopping centre,...) - it is an excellent value for money. Lovely, large rooms, quiet, clean, helpful staff, fast internet, good breakfast (nothing special but something for everyone). Recommended.

Our 3 day stay was a wonderful experience. Staff were polite and helpful.Hotel is within walking distance of old city.( We walked to Charles Bridge and back which looked a long way on the map.) Breakfast was included and was good quality. Parking outside the Hotel was easy even though in a business area. The room was quite large with comfortable beds and was really quiet.Only downside was wifi internet reception in room was poor but ok in reception and it was free.Would recommend hotel as excellent value

This hotel was absolutely amazing! The staff was always happy and helpful in making reservations and giving directions. The hotel really is a nice walk to the city center and cab fare is fairly cheap too if you didn't want to talk. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well-lit. Breakfast was probably the best I had while traveling in Europe for halt a year. They could easily understand English the communication was not a problem.

very close to shopping centers located on Smichov subway station (three minutes walk)
20 minutes walk to Charles bridge or 4 stations on tram to old city (Stare mesto)

Fantastic

Hotel Angelis was just the thing we needed. Having stayed in hostels for the week prior to our arrival, it was refreshing to stay at the Angelis. I wish it was a bit closer to the main part of town, but it was extremely easy to get to where you wanted to go from there so it twasn't so bad. Excellent service, very friendly. Only issue was that we were put in the room that was right at the door that everyone passed through, and slammed. That wasn't great, but otherwise great place to stay.

Nice and comfortable

I spent 1 night there before my weeding. In the morning came the hair dresser, the person for the make up, the fotographer, my friend and I and all of us could be comfortable in the room. It is clean, nice and friendly staff.
Good sortment in the breakfast.
I like and recommend it.
It has good connection to the down town and close to a shopping mall and metro station (500-600 mts walking)

weekend break

got lost finding hotel (underground has rather a lot of exits!) but once there found it welcoming. Room a bit too warm but solved by opening window. As I was on 3rd floor this was not a concern nor noisy. No toilet paper on first night! Slept really well, bed very comfortable. Breakfast buffet self service, plentiful and tasty. Hope to go back some time.

Great Room, Okay Breakfast & Location

Hotel Angelis was a great bargain find. It was clean and pretty well-run. The location was fine--not fabulous, but easy enough to hop on a metro or tram to get to into the center of things.

The only negatives are front desk staff and wifi. I thought that desk staff was kind of rude--though it could very well be that they seem that way because of their English language skills.

We were given a computer cable for the room that didn't work, but we found we could pick up the wifi in the room. However, when there was a problem with the wifi, staff members weren't really helpful. When my husband went into the lobby to get a stronger signal and watch a football match on his laptop at about 10pm, the desk attendant let him know that it was kind of late to sit in the lobby.

Also, there is a lovely garden sitting room, which would have been a nice place to do some computer work or read news on the Internet, but it seemed to pick up a separate Hotel Angelis wifi network from the network that reached the lobby. When we asked for help in getting on that network, the front desk was dismissive. They just gave us the same info for the other network and kind of rolled their eyes.

Also, noise starts at about 7am. Some of it might have been a nearby auto repair shop, but some of it was also the breakfast room/housekeeping staff yelling at each other in Czech. Doesn't bother me, but light sleepers might care.

Overall, though, it was a good hotel, where I would stay again.

Beautiful room, bathroom, and great breakfast. Front desk could have been a bit more helpful with directions, but overall a very good stay. No air conditioning. Better than a four star we stayed at in Germany. Excellent value.

Good Hotel in a good area

As previously mentioned the Breakfast was a good start to the day and replenished regularly. Listening to comments form other travelers I met , this is not the norm in this price range.
The only criticism I could make is that there is no air conditioning and in the height of summer it would be nice to help sleep at night. But during most of the year it would not be required.

Only concern is the lack of providing soap, shampoo on a daily basis. We were given one soap (small) for 4 days; providing enough soap, toilet tissue, shampoo would make for a more comfortable stay and would increase likelihood of recommending the hotel to other travelers.

BREAKFAST offerings were outstanding and more than comparable to other hotels. Cleanliness was outstanding; choices were excellent; plenty of eating space. The breakfast offerings made our stay excellent and for this reason I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Prague's Best Kept Secret

Our stay at Hotel Angelis was wonderful. The hotel is decorated in a lovely Art Nouveau theme throughout. There are also balconies overlooking a pretty garden and courtyard. There is a huge complimentary breakfast each morning that is constantly replenished by a very attentive staff. The dining area is very pretty with several smaller dining rooms providing a more intimate environment for guests.
The location is close to both the metro, tram, and bus. In addition the hotel is just a block or two from the river. It's also on the same side of the river as Prague Castle, and by tram is just a few minutes away.
The hotel staff was terrific! Very courteous and helpful. We had a nice apartment size frig in our room stocked with all sorts of goodies if we wished to purchase them. The hotel helped us book a day trip tour to a neighboring town and we were able to pay for the tour at the hotel in addition to being picked up at the hotel and driven to the tour bus. This was a big time saver for us.
All in all it was a great experience and I will definitely go back again.

I picked this hotel because it was closest to where a friend's band was playing. While it's far away from most all the touristy stuff, and not the best location... the rooms and service were awesome! I'd recommend to anyone...

I would recommend this to my friends

This was a great hotel and easy to get to on the underground system from both the stations and the airport. It was just the right distance from the city centre, so you didn't feel like you were out of it, but you were also close enough to get to walking.
The staff were really helpful. The breakfast had everything you would want for a breakfast - nothing over the top, but not skimping either. Unfortunately they had instant coffee, but we just got a fresh one from one of the lovely Prague coffee shops instead.
The beds were the typical Europe style - two beds pushed together with two seperate dunas, but as much as we hate that, we're getting used to it now.
I would highly reccommend this to our friends as the perfect place to stay for a Prague visit.

Buona esperienza. Struttura pulita, in una zona tranquilla e personale cortese e disponibile. Buona la colazione a buffet. La struttura non ha un proprio garage, ma nel weekend si può gratuitamente parcheggiare in strada e nei giorni lavorativi c'è un parcheggio a pagamento a ca. 300 mt. Molto comodo per la vicinanza alla fermata del tram e del metro. Unici 2 nei: per accedere al 2° piano dell'ala interna, bisogna percorrere un ballatoio esterno e una rampa senza ascensore (pertanto suggerisco di evidenziare all'hotel in fase di prenotazione se si hanno problemi di mobilità) e i cuscini veramente molto molto alti che purtroppo non sono riusciti a cambiarci.
Infine una chicca: per l'ultimo giorno dell'anno ci hanno fatto trovare in camera una bottiglia di spumante extra-brut.

Our stay at Angelis Hotel was excelente! The staff is pretty friendly and veru thougthful with each destila. A highlight to Denise who welcomed us at the reception and gave our detail about Prague. The property is lucky to have her as part of the staff.

Additionally we had a tiny problem in our shower when we got in the room and immediately she moved us to another room without any constrain.

During 31st December the staff offered to us a lovely bottle of champagne to celebrate New Years Eve which was lovely too. Thank you to Denise and all team from Angelis hotel, we will certainly recommend to friends and when possible be back to this accommodation

Stayed for business trip, location to my office was excellent, 3 minutes walking.
Property does not have restaurant but there are good options in 5-10 minute walk.
Tram station is 2 min walk
Metro station 8 min walk
You can be in old town in 15-20 minutes
Breakfast is ok for 1-2 days, my stay was 11 days so I had to go to the nearest cafe.

Downside: people in Europe smoke a lot, this property has a dedicated space for smoking and if you do not like the smell you are in trouble, however, the smell does not get to the rooms, I do not smoke but don’t mind about it just be aware

Insgesamt gut, aber leider mit Mängeln im Detail. Sauberes Zimmer nur zum Check-In-Zeitpunkt, tägliche Reinigung mangelhaft. Frühstück gut, aber Schwächen bei Reinigung der Tassen. Das WLAN funktioniert gut, ist aber nicht geschützt.
Der \"vorhandene Parkplatz\" erwies sich als öffentlicher Parkplatz im Freien, staubig, in 150 m Distanz zu laufen, kein Park-Service.
Der Gartenblick vom Zimmer erwies sich als Blick auf die Brauerei auf der anderen Strassenseite, keinen Garten gefunden, nur kleiner Innenhof.
Das Zimmer vermittelte ein angenehmes Gefühl. Der Safe war gut. Die Rezeption während der Tagstunden war sehr gut.

Großzügiger Wohn/Schlafraum. Balkon mit Sitzgelegenheiten zum attraktiven Innenhof.
Komplett modernisiertes und großes Badezimmer.

Sehr freundliches Personal, super Frühstücksbuffet sowie nahegelegene Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel (ZOB und Straßenbahn ca.200 m entfernt). Bewachtes Parken (auch mehrtägig) ca. 5 Min. fußläufig entfernt möglich.
