Breakfast was great and the staff in the restaurant were friendly. Cleaning staff were friendly as well and very helpful. The rooms were comfy. It was difficult to know what you were selecting when choosing a room we were lucky to get one above the jacuzzi terrace. The downside was a slight but constant smell of drains like the plumbing was not great. This was not just at the hotel, so perhaps a problem with Puerto Rico drainage? Also, people reserving sun loungers with towels from first thing in the morning and smoking around the pool. There are signs saying not allowed but this needs to be enforced more vigorously.

This is our fourth time staying at the Marina Bayview. We absolutely love this hotel. The staff are friendly, it’s in a lovely location with gorgeous views. The hotel is always clean. The food is excellent and fairly priced for what you get. We’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Loved the hotel, was not happy about not getting beds around the pool has people would go down early to put the towels on.Then went back later.The next think was the stairs going down wasvfine but goig up all them stairs is a nightmare. Its ashame you can get a taxi but its not the point.

This is the 2nd year me and my partner have stayed here and it was just as amazing each time, the staff are so lovely, it is right around the corner from the beach, the pool is amazing, great food options, the rooms are always in perfect condition with self cooking options if needed, the shower is very powerful, the views are gorgeous and over all i will never stay anywhere else when i visit gran canaria

Just back from a fantastic stay, the hotel is beautiful, clean and has excellent facilities, the staff are super friendly, the only thing to note is to get into the town there are 143 steps down to the street level and around a twenty minute walk to the shopping centre, the steps up are a bit of a killer, however it’s super easy to get a taxi and only costs €5, this hotel over looks the marina and the sunset from the balcony was stunning, we will definitely be returning 😍

The property is very clean and the pool area is lovely. The only thing lacking is some evening entertainment or even music in a bar as the pool bar closes quite early. There is nothing to keep guests at the property but there is nice restaurants and an Irish bar just down the steps.

I stayed in a two storey self catering villa by a long deck with a jacuzzi. I could occasionally hear some noise from the harbour but generally I was pleased at how quiet and peaceful the location and the environment were. The view over the harbour and the sea was beautiful. I especially recommend floating in the jacuzzi at about 6pm when the outdoor temperature is more comfortable and the deck is empty, it's blissful. The hotel staff were always friendly and polite, and the rooms were kept very clean and had everything I needed. There's a small supermarket nearby (via some killer steps - easy to go down but take it slowly on the way up!), and a slightly bigger one about a 10 minute walk away by the beach. The beach has the better array of restaurants, including at least one that actually did paella for one person (never seen that before). There's a shopping precinct maybe 20 mins walk away too that has even more. You can also get an easy ferry to some of the nearby pretty towns like Puerto de Mogan. Recommended.

Perfect stay!

Such a great stay, this hotel feels boutique and a little haven away from puerto rico town. The views of the port are so nice, the staff are really friendly and super helpful. We didn't have any issues during our stay.

A great touch is that you can use the facilities after your checkout time, and there is a courtesy room which includes a shower, toilet and changing space for you to get ready in before your flight.

The location right next to the port means its super easy to walk to the ferry (5 mins away) and go to other spots down the coast. We would recommend Puerto de Morgan, Maspalomas & Arguineguin.

The food at the hotel is delicious, breakfast including hot food and pastries, we went to the BBQ night on Friday which was really great buffet style with steak on the BBQ and a singer for entertainment, would recommend!

What a fantastic stay at this gem of a place. Lovely and quiet, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The place is kept so clean - no easy feat with the sand and dust coming up from the beach! The view we had from our balcony was wonderful. The courtesy room with shower on the last day was such a handy touch, being able to use that to freshen up after a day by the pool before leaving for home was amazing. There were only 2 things that weren't perfect - the 119 steps down to beach level (can't be helped, but just a warning to those who might have an issue with that) and breakfast. For 15euros each I wasn't impressed with the offer. Other than that, we would visit again.

Relaxing, resort-feel hotel. Located just round the corner from the main centre, it overlooks a marina. Although the road into town runs below the hotel, it wasn’t noisy, and the hotel itself is quiet and laid-back. Lovely pool, great breakfast and well worth adding, rooms convenient and airy. We instantly relaxed here. There’s a small shopping centre at the bottom with a good range of restaurants and a decent supermarket, so plenty of choice for evening meals. Pool towels provided free, regular room cleaning.

Marina Bayview Very Good

Really beautiful hotel with magnificent views over the Marina. A Select Seaview room guarantees this wonderful view. The pool is heated and quiet. The breakfast had plenty of choice. The free courtesy room for showering before home is a real bonus. Very clean. The hotel is in a good location but with 160 steps from roadside to room it’s a bit much in the heat . Taxis are a must or a car.

I have to say I was expecting good things coming here but was sadly disappointed.
From the reviews it painted a different picture to what it actually was like.
Don’t get me wrong it’s a good location and nice enough but not worth the money at all (over priced)! And over rated in my opinion.
Just to note why -
I booked 3 nights for myself and partner and lasted one night before checking out :(
Unfortunately little ants are everywhere which put me off to start with (over the walls, kitchen area and even next to the beds).
Then you have a very basic apartment with very thin walls able to hear people staying next to you - this leads to the plumbing system, you can hear when they go to the toilet it’s that loud (in the middle of the night).
The shower drains very slow so you end up standing in a pool of water before having to let it drain before continuing with your shower.
The service was the only thing I was happy with - very friendly and polite.
The breakfast is a good small selection but to a good standard.
Overall It wasn’t enough to make me want to stay for my 3 nights so checked out and left - very disappointing.

Wow, this is my 6th year on the trot in Puerto Rico, but first time in the Marina Bayview. I chose this hotel as it was adults only thought it would be quiet for a relaxing holiday. It didnt disappoint in any way. On arrival I was greeted with a nice glass of bubbly and gold face towels what a lovely touch. The hotel is so clean, pool area is brilliant and I didnt have to worry about saving a sunbed, didnt have to as there were plenty free at any time of day.
All of the staff were very friendly and you only had to ask if you needed anything nothing was too much trouble. Amazing view over the Marina and having stayed in several parts of Puerto Rico, this was the best area by far.
The hotel serves breakfast for ten euros or 3 days for 27.50 euros. Wow what a breakfast there was absolutely everything you could imagine amazing choice. Spotlessly clean and the staff were always cleaning, immaculate. Each room had 2 pool towels and you could get clean ones everyday this was a great bonus.
I could write a book about Marina Bayview, it was just perfect and I would highly recommend staying here by far the best hotel I have stayed in in Puerto Rico.

This hotel was spot on. Perfectly situated with a supermarket around the corner, plus a few restaurants (not too bad), then only a very short walk to Playa de Puerto Rico beach.
You are also only a slightly longer walk away from the main bus station and the main market area too.

The location for us was ideal. Not in the center of the resort but a very short walk away. View was exactly as advertised and they had everything you needed including a small shop for essentials. As this is up on a hillside There were a lot of steps or step paths to negotiate daily.

Great hotel, with a very chilled approach, especially as now adults only. We stayed B&B in a room with balcony - breakfast is definitely worth it! Very clean hotel, pool area is great, although not a lot of shade if you don't like the sun too much. Views of the marina, and just watching the world go by, make it a great place to relax. In a less touristic part of Puerto Rico which suited us fine - took only 1 trip to the commercial centre and then stayed locally which had more than enough to do and see! Would definitely go again!

The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean and the pool area was equally inviting with plenty of sun beds for everyone. Did not like the food in the local area however food at the hotel was tasteful. My main upset is that the hotel was having building work that they did not warn us about! Please make sure you check for this before you visit, building work being carried out next to the pool (in what I think was the jacuzzi). It completely disrupted our stay and was so loud and annoying! :(

Lovely adults only hotel in good area

Lovely hotel. Check-in was easy, and the apartments are nice and clean and very spacious. The restaurant and pool area are nice and relaxing with a great drinks menu. I would recommend having breakfast at the hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly also.
Only negatives for me were the stairs to the hotel... so many! And the wifi in the actual room, it never really worked. But could've just been a one off. Wifi worked great by the pool.
Overall, great relaxing stay.

The Best Hotel in Puerto Rico

We had a great stay at the Marina Bayview in the month of May. The view from our room was amazing even though it was a standard room with partial view. The décor was very nautical and well done. The room was spotless according to my wife who is very meticulous about cleanliness. The staff in general were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was the best we have had anywhere with Cava included even though I don't drink it. Very quiet as expected from an adults only hotel. The WiFi was great as a router is present in each room. I have recommended this hotel to a work colleague who has now booked the sister hotel \"Marina Suites\". We will go back to this hotel again as it is a great base for exploring the island with public transport links to all areas from the local bus depot.
Ferries to nearby resorts are also a great way to see the island Puerto de Mogan being our favourite with a Friday market which is good, but do check prices in the local shops, then barter.
The hotel pool area and grounds are very well kept with lovely colourful plants everywhere. The reception area is very tastefully done with welcoming staff. Mountain bikes can be rented from reception, but I'll do that next trip. I rented a motorcycle from Moto & Bike and visited Roque Nublo and Pico de Las Nieves which was well worth seeing. I hope to explore more of the island next time as this was our first time on the island. The hotel accommodation and location are what made our trip such a success.

Great Hotel in Gran Canaria

Marina Bayview is set halfway up quite a steep hill. It has great views but you have to be prepared for steps! These are throughout the hotel (it's on 4 levels) and down to the main road (about 160!).
The hotel is very chic and spotlessly clean. Between building are many trees and flowers making the white walls less stark.
Breakfast is great, a good variety which changes every day. We ate in town so can't comment on evening meals (didn't really have lunch as breakfast was so huge!).
Wi-fi is excellent, there's an router in each room.
Staff are great. Nothing is too much trouble. We were flying late and the hotel allowed us to use a room for 30 minutes to have a shower/change before heading for the airport, free of charge.
We would easily recommend Marina Bayview for your break in Gran Canaria

Great hotel in Puerto Rico.

We (family of 4 with kids 3 and 5 yrs old) stayed there for a week at the end of Oct 2016; we had a great stay! The hotel was recently updated and has a modern nautical theme. We had a standard room/suite on the pool level which was great with the kids. Large pool to swim and a small one for the kids which was great. The restaurant by the pool probably offers some of the best food in Puerto Rico. They also have their sister hotel \"Marina Suites\" very close nearby.

Very nice place, lovely breakfast, staff were very helpful - ordered us a local pizza takeaway to our room. Occasional dodgy smells in the room - don't know if it was the plumbing or the ac but it really hummed at times! Don't leave any food out or you get ants! Steps are tough with a pram! Other than that, highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at marina suites the rooms were very clean excellent maid service-bedlinen and towels changed every day apart from Thursdays and Sundays. The hotel grounds and pool area well maintained. The restaurant served good food at lunchtime but does not serve in the evening which is a shame as I'm sure it would be used as lunchtime was always busy. This hotel is located in the mountains so there are 147 steps you have to walk up to get to the hotel from the harbour .not for people with poor mobility although you get a taxi for approx 4 euros from the harbour

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Liked the flexibility of catering for yourself or using the restaurant. Rooms were kept clean. Some issues with privacy for some of our stay as the walks between apartment were very thin!! Nearest beach and amenities not great but other beaches short taxi or bus ride away were better eg Amadores beach.

Only negatives were 136 steps to one entrance to hotel from main road but there was an alternative entrance but longer to get to and not enough sunbeds for hotel occupancy and became daily battle to get one. This was our 1st stay at the marina bay and we enjoyed it very much.

Positives - the heated pool was lovely, it's great not to shiver when you go in the pool. The general environment and exquisite flowers. etc made this a lovely place to stay.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant - when we requested a room change to one with more sun and a better view over the bay, this was done with no fuss. Also a nice touch was wine and chocolates left in our room for my wife's birthday without me asking (they checked her dob on the passport).

The only negative for me was that prices at the pool bar for drinks were far too high and to be honest not many people used it because of this - make them more reasonable and people will use it.

All in all we had a lovely stay and would come back again for sure.

Having read other reviews and looking at the website prior to arrival, the resort was everything we expected and more!

The apartment was clean, light and spacious. The housekeepers gave regular and thorough attention, even going beyond what we would expect. On a particular occasion, whilst eating lunch on the balcony, there was a knock at the door requesting they carry out their work. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they had even washed up pans which we had left to soak whilst we ate.

The views, both day and night, we're worth paying the extra money for an apartment with seaview balcony. On days when we had been on trips, or to the beach, making supper and siting on the balcony with a bottle of wine, was just as pleasing a way to spend the evening as going to a restaurant on the beach front.

Other reviews have mentioned sunbeds being reserved by other guests, which we too found a problem on a few days. However, the lifeguard did remove these towels, sticking by their policy of not reserving loungers.

They even provided a courtesy room for changing after we had checked out, so we could enjoy our last day of sun, and still freshen up before traveling home.

The only two things we could find missing, that could have improved our stay slightly, were an iron and a tin opener! However, during our stay we were asked to complete a satisfaction survey and told this was something that is already being looked in to.

Thank you Marina Bayview for a very enjoyable stay!!

The hotel was very nice, all staff very friendly the steps going upto the hotel that lots of people said about were not as bad as we thought, the breakfast was lovely and peaceful with an amazing view, free pool towels and a bottle of water was waiting for us in the fridge, couldn't fault it. To eat out was very reasonable and €1.95 for a pint right on the beach, lovely walk to Amadores beach.

Lovely hotel, great staff but 150 steps up from the pavement which takes you into Puerto Rico. Also the bar and restaurant closed at 7 except on Friday. But great friendly happy staff, lovely clean apartments and gorgeous pool and views...

Great hotel, really friendly staff

Great hotel in the more quieter area of Puerto Rico. I loved having a kitchenette in the room, the shower room was a little cramped but we coped. The balcony was a good size with great views. Staying at the hotel required any guest who wanted to reach the town or beach to climb 142 steps. It was fine for us but a moderate level of agility is required, or use a cab.

Great hotel if you don't mind lots of steps.

Great hotel with a really relaxed atmosphere and wonderful sea views over the marina. Service and rooms excellent. The location itself isn't for those with mobility issues as access to and from the hotel is via over 150 steps. Plenty of good bars and restaurants within striking distance (once the steps have been conquered!)

Fantastic apartments in great location

We booked the Marina Bayview after looking on trip advisor and can honestly say they exceeded our expectations! We had a standard terrace apartment which was on two levels giving a home from home feel. The view from the apartment (including the shower window) was superb looking over the marina. The terrace outside had lots of sun loungers and an eco shower which was absolutely perfect for those who love the sun but not the hustle n bustle of the swimming pool. All the staff were super friendly especially the cleaning staff who were very thorough on a daily basis. We read a few reviews complaining about the steps down from the hotel and whilst I'd agree they're not for the faint hearted you'll struggle to find any hotel in Peurto Rico with an amazing view that doesn't have steps! Taxi's are however cheap n plentiful so an easy alternative to the steps!
We are already looking to return next year and the hotel has a loyalty programme which gives discounts and priorities for returning customers!

Nice clean rooms & helpful staff. Food in the pool bar was quiet good too. The hotel is a 5 min walk from the beach. There are about 50 steps from the road to the hotel but this shouldn't be a problem unless you're particularly bad on your feet. A taxi from downtown to the hotel is around €4 if you want to avoid the steps.
The only negative about the hotel was that there aren't enough sun loungers by the pool and the vast majority of them were taken by 9am every morning. You'd need to be an early riser to guarantee your seat for the day.
All in all, it's a very nice hotel that I would definitely recommend.

We had booked one week during August to spend in Peurto Rico with our two children aged 12 and 10. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. We were given information regarding the facilities at the hotel and details of where we would be able to buy groceries and other supplies for our stay. The hotel was exactly the same as the promotional pictures and the views were breathtaking. The staff at the hotel were excellent and always willing to help with any information we required about Peurto Rico whether it was about places to see; activities to book or places to eat at. The staff made sure our stay was stress free and very enjoyable. The room was cleaned on a daily basis and the towels changed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The reception staff were always helpful and very approachable. Ella even rang the Airport for us when we had an enquiry regarding our return flights and sorted out the transfer on the return back when there was a mistake with the pick up time. Lauren, Ella and Ramondo were excellent and are an asset to the hotel.
We will definitely return to the Marina Bayview if we ever go to Peurto Rico again. I will be recommending this hotel to friends and family. The position of the hotel is high enough to have fabulous views of the sea and surrounding mountains but still close enough to shops which are 5 mins walk away from the hotel; 20 mins walk to Peurto shopping centre and 10 mins walk to the beach.Taxis cost 3.50-4€.

Absolutely amazing.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for our first holiday and Marina Bayview has set a very high standard! I couldn't say one bad word about our stay, everything was perfect and every single member of staff we encountered was so friendly, helpful and polite. It's set in a perfect location, just a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the commercial centre which was exactly what we wanted. If recommend the hotel to anyone and we would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel to relax and enjoy the views

The rooms/ apartments are arranged facing the sea with open views enjoying the sun as it rises over the cliffs until it sets on the sea. We stayed in a deluxe apartment which was arranged across two floors with a lounge/kitchen area on the first floor opening onto a large balcony with sunbeds and a table and chairs for private lounging and that all important sun down gin and tonic. The hotel has two pools with open views across the marina and the sea. The views are fantastic and swimming into the sunset is a treat not to be missed. The pool side restaurant offers a full range of drinks and cocktails, and meals and snacks throughout the day. If like me you enjoy starting the day with a good breakfast then the offer at the Marina Bayview is for you. Quite simply it offers the largest range of breakfast options as a buffet that I have ever experienced. There is so much choice you need never repeat a breakfast menu throughout your stay. As for the staff you will never meet a better and happier crew. Their job is to make sure you enjoy your holiday and from check in to departure they never fail to delight.

Lovely hotel- shame about the location.

The hotel was beautiful, unfortunately it was advertised to be in a completely different place than it actually was. Where we were was very disappointing and not at all where we expected - 12 miles away!

Such a shame as the hotel itself was lovely but spoilt by being so far from where we expected.

Nice Hotel for a goat.

The hotel is fine and customer friendly. The view is excellent from all around the hotel. The view comes at a price which is 120 steps down to the road for walkers. Taxis can be taken from reception but that adds cost to the holiday. The sister Marina Bayview Suites has slightly larger and more comprehensive facilities as well as easier access and is fully available to guests at the Marina Bayview Hotel.

Modern apartments with fabulous views

My recent stay marina BayView apartments was one of pure enjoyment! The facilities within the apartment and the complex were outstanding and the views were breathtaking! The pool area was relaxing and very friendly! Apartments and complex facilities were spotless and the staff were very friendly! I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Puerto Rica.

2nd time even better

This is the 2nd time we decided to stay at this Hotel. However this time we decided to bring my 17 year old daughter.We were in room 109B...just next to pool..it was great! Room was just like the first time..clean and spot on. Love been next to pool. I can sunbathe and daughter can stay in shade and go on wifi. Shes happy & I'm happy!! Nothing has really changed since September last year apart from the price of most things....everything has increased 1-2 euros. However this didnt dampen the Holiday...would love to come back as its so relaxing!! Love it!!

Lovely hotel. Rooms are kept spotless by the cleaners. All reception staff very helpful and friendly along with the breakfast staff. Really can't fault the hotel. Yes it is quite a few steps to the property but the views are worth it.
Would definitely stay again.
