Had to speak with the front desk after first morning after very little warm water in the bathroom. Next morning was a bit better but still took a while to warm up and never got hot.

We paid for the breakfast add on when we booked, breakfast was good.

They overbooked the room we had prepaid for weeks in advance so we ended up with a lesser room. The shower took 25 minutes to warm up, which I heard other customers complaining about to the front desk. The water bottles they leave in the room, but charge you for if you drink them, is fine but one was already open- so we will get charged for it even though we didnt drink it. The pool had a layer of grime covering the entire bottom. The room and facility overall seemed clean.

Great room great place. The only issues were BE CAREFULL the bed frames are wood wrap around I accidently hit me leg twice into it and my partner also hit herself on it. It is painful. They did not clean the room when I can back and called the front desk to ask about it they asked if I had put on the do not disturb sign on door which I had not and of course she said the cleaning crew was all ready gone for the day. So I asked what about the towels and her response was just come get them.Other than that good place.

The room was less than expected. Bathroom door squeeked when opened and closed. That’s bad in the middle of the night. TV did not work. Bathroom vanity was very small. Unable to leave anything on the bathroom vanity.
Staff was courteous. They charge extra for services that most hotels offer for free.

I did the digital check in so I could “skip” the line to check in, but then it made me go shoe my ID to check in so had to stand in line to check in. So that was pointless! Elevator was broke when we tried to go downstairs! Hot tub was not very hot

All staff were professional, the facilities were well maintained, but the building was built poorly, which not much can be done about; you could hear people talking in an adjacent room and people walking (or should I say “stomping?”) on the floor above my room. Hilton Garden Inn OP is a very good hotel, and there are much worse hotels in the area, but there are also somewhat better hotels in the vicinity, too.

We did not have breakfast because of the cost. Restaurant/bar did not have beer on tap. Excellent staff. Spacious room with nice bathroom. Toilet ran which I reported. Hot tub was nice but got cloudy over the weekend.

TOXIC Vapors & Off-Gassing: Couldn't breathe!

Horrendous! Toxic Fumes and Vapors from the glue and Off-gassing of the new carpeting. My 88 year old mother and I did not sleep the entire night due to breathing in noxious vapors. WE WERE ESSENTIALLY POISONED! Had to drive 8 hours the next day on NO SLEEP. This renovation should have been indicated by the hotel because had I known this I would have NEVER booked there. THIS IS A HEALTH HAZZARD -- ingesting the vapors which ENTER THE BRAIN (and the body/liver has to metabolize), the SLEEP DEPRIVATION (effects of which last for 2-3 weeks) and the DANGER of driving on no sleep. We stayed in the hotel to SLEEP, not to soak in chemicals and suffer from TOXIC POISONING & SLEEP DEPRIVATION! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS and UNACCEPTABLE!!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH!!!

Loved the new renovations and staff were all super nice. Only problem were the bed frames. Mattresses didn’t fit well on the box part. And frame extends too far out My husband bumped his knee on. one and cut his shin. I bumped my knee on one and got a bruise.

The staff at check in was icing her knee in the office. Fine but she didn’t greet us or say anything and then finally was like “do you need to check in?” Like we were inconveniencing her. The pool was closed in the heaviest part of summer. When I said it would have been nice to know that ahead of time the woman was rude and condescending when I told her it wasn’t listen on the website she said it is on OUR website and completely left out the idea that many people book through 3rd parties. She was rude and short and not hospitable at all. I would not have even booked the room if I knew the pool was closed but it is what it is.

2/10 Would NOT recomend!

The hotel was heavily under construction but we were not warned or notified of this prior to arrival.
The construction crew were in the way throughout our stay and even blocked access to the elevators at one point. At one point for at least 1day only 1 of the 2 elevators were working.
There was dust everywhere and paper on the floor to walk on bc of the construction mess.
The staff who were present tried very hard to accommodate everyone but the hotel was full and very much understaffed.
The pool is small and was not supervised so it was overrun with children without adults. We asked for staffto address the issue 2x and it was unsuccessful. Older children were jumping and diving in the shallow water splashing smaller children and adults and running throughout the area.

Additionally people were running down the halls and screaming after 11pm and staff were unable/unwilling to stop the behavior. The lobby was hot and unpleasant likely bc of all the construction crew in and out so frequently.

Breakfast is NOT included as part of the stay and cost $9-$14/day. Food was not worth the price. Also, Small water bottles in the rooms were $2/each rather than free.

The room itself was clean but smaller than expected and we were NOT booked in the room as advertised.

For the price point, this was NOT a good deal and I would NOT stay here again or recommend to anyone.

The room was clean and nice. The property is torn up. All of the first floor is being remodeled. All of the doors around the property are not working so you can only go into the hotel from the front door. Parking is very limited. There are a lot of shipping containers in the parking lot taking up parking spaces. No continental breakfast. Overall for the price of the stay I would pass on the property the next time I am in town.

My husband and I love this hotel in KC when we visit friends. We have stayed there more than once over the last couple years. Rooms are always clean, the caulking in the bathroom is never dingy or moldy. If you travel or regularly book rooms you know what I mean. Price is always worth it. Service is always friendly. Beds are comfy. We will continue to use this hotel when we go to KC. And conveniently located.

The hotel is under construction. They didn’t have the connecting rooms I requested and said it didn’t meet my requirements. The bar that was advertised was not a bar… the pool was fine, hot tub jets didn’t work. The check in wasn’t what was stated on the site.

Great Service, But a Few Unexpected Surprises

I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Overland Park and overall, it was a good experience. The front desk staff was great—very friendly and accommodating. I had to ask for a cot for my daughter because the room description online had mentioned a pullout couch, which is one of the reasons I booked that particular room. Unfortunately, there wasn’t one, but the staff quickly brought us a cot, which was appreciated.

The only other surprise was the price. It ended up being quite a bit more expensive than what I saw on Hotels.com. I’m not sure if it was due to local taxes or additional fees, but it was definitely more than I was expecting.

Despite those couple of surprises, the stay itself was comfortable, and the service was excellent. I’d stay again but would be more careful about double-checking room details and final pricing next time.

The hotel itself seemed to be in disrepair. When I originally booked it stated breakfast was included however at check in we were informed that there would be an additional cost due to the event going on around the area. the pool had light that were going on and off during operating hours. we asked for extra towels since we did not want the room serviced during our stay we never received them. carpet in hallway on our floor was in horrible shape. parts were buckled and fraying. room was nice. all staff was friendly.
