Aloft Leawood is one of our favorite go toes when in Kansas City. Convenience is forefront with high quality restaurants, shopping and entertainment all within walking distance. The second level bar with outdoor seating is a must.

Clean room, staff was helpful. Breakfast only at local coffee shops or restaurants, hotel not a great breakfast option if that’s your thing. Parking was close by in a parking ramp but not connected to hotel so you have a short walk to the hotel… not super intuitive on finding the parking ramp but figured out. Convenient to local entertainment and shopping.
Would stay there again if priced right. Minimalist hotel room amenities; was no phone in room but I guess they were doing an upgrade, should have told us… not easy to call the office. Had iron but no ironing board. Cleaning crew was great, always cleaned. Decor was modern, minimalist, clean. Worked for our stay.

The location was wonderful. I would have preferred a buffet breakfast. Parking was offsite and confusing at first. My room was modern and stylish but a comfortable chair would have been nice; the desk chair was plastic and wood. Not comfortable.

We arrived to a room that was very minimal. There were 2 complimentary bottles of water and a refrigerator. I immediately made tea, a non caffeinated tea. We felt like the comforter and sheet wasn’t enough but turned up the temp. There were 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels and one of the bottles of product had fallen off the wall and was on the shower hand rail, there were no shelves in the shower for a razor or products. I immediately noticed a hair ball on the glass of the shower and another on the tile of the bathroom so felt like the room wasn’t clean.
The next morning we asked for a refresh of the room and a blanket which happened while we were out. 2 more bottles of water were left and all new towels, the hair balls and the product in the shower were still there. 3 nights it was like that, no new tea was ever refilled. The day before we checked out we actually got 3 bath towels, a new wrapped bar of soap and a new bottle of lotion, was it a different house cleaner? Hair ball was still on the glass though. It is a minimal hotel with free parking and a fun shopping area around it. We ate at Bamboo Pennys and loved it. I got coffee several mornings from Outta The Blue and they had great pastries and coffee drinks as well as juice shots and protein bites. We will probably stay here again when we are in town because the price is right. I don’t know if they offer breakfast or anything. The front desk was nice when we asked for a blanket.

This property is in major need of a refresh and some training and presence from the GM. I was hoping by the reviews that this would be a relaxing stay but it was just mediocre. First room I checked into, AC didn’t work. Transferred me to another room which is how I know their in room phones do not work. Thankfully both rooms were clean. The common area carpets are nasty though. The gentlemen at the front desk had no intro about the property. The 2nd day when I was there I walked down to the front desk to let them know my room was not serviced and that was when they informed me they don’t service rooms except for long stays or check out days. I told the front desk attendant that would have been nice to know upon check-in as well as any information about breakfast or the fitness center. The parking situation isn’t great, especially for families because the deck isn’t attached the property. Would NOT book here again.

There was no breakfast we booked specifically for continental breakfast however there was no breakfast. We were told that they need to hire a chef for the weekend. Well this wasn’t disclosed when booking not upon arrival. Got up early in the morning to go down for breakfast only to be disappointed.

We enjoyed our stay. This is a great property in a good location if you are looking for a place to stay but not spend a lot of time in the hotel. Pricing was competitive this stay. We did have issues with heating and air conditioning causing the room to convert from hot to cold. Room couldn't keep a consistent temperature.

It was not good at all. The pool was closed, the restaurant wasn’t open, I think undergoing reconstruction. The parking lot was a block away. The only ice machine was two floors downstairs. We couldn’t get a tournament baseball game because of a tiff with the cable company. The window blinds were broken and wouldn’t close all the way at night. I wasn’t very happy with the hotel. I’ve stayed at a different Aloft before and it was so much nicer. I won’t stay at this one again.

The sink didn't drain properly, the maintenance came and repaired it right away. The sink still didn't drain properly, and he left the torn towel he used to fix sink lying in plain sight on the can, drying out. The stool didn't flush. It was fixed. We took the top floor because of the advertised beautiful views!? The windows were filthy and there was clear caulking spattered over them. The hotel charged to my account $20 for 1 drink. When inquired the next day was told the extra charge would fall off my card. The ceiling was so poorly patched that it was lumpy. Contacted Marriott corporation and they had Aloft contact me. Couldn't refund my money but would give me Marriott Bonvoy points. This was complaint was filed 3/29/26. As of 3/18/26, I still don't have any Marriott Bonvoy points. I filed a complaint again 3/17 but haven't heard back. Will update this if gets resolved. Wont stay there again.

We checked in at 5 o’clock on a Thursday evening. At 8:30 we decided to get the kids into the showers for bedtime. Ice cold water. After speaking with Anne at the front desk, several times who was speaking with the manager, they decided that maintenance would fix the hot water the next day. Some guest that I were talking to had the same issues. In fact, many mini guests had the same issues. One guest told me that they hadn’t had hot water since 10 o’clock on Thursday morning. we took cold showers.

The next day we worked with Lamont at the front desk and it was much different. We were refunded some money for our stay and he was very understanding and professional. I’d have to say the night crew needs quite a bit of training. by the way, I read the reviews for the hotel and for the past four years they’ve been having issues with dozens upon dozens of reviews, saying no hot water.

Avoid this place. Or bring your own hot water.

The room was clean and spacious. The hot water took a really long time in the shower and my husband had to take a cold shower. The toilet flushed a little wonky. But overall the room was nice and super convenient. We had a couple’s getaway with dinner at 801 Chophouse and drinks at Verdigris. No driving needed.

Best aspect of this hotel is its convenient location. Otherwise, the facility is an $80/night lodging masquerading as one worthy of $120/night. The lack of any closet space and inconsistent hot water in the shower were especially troubling, making this hotel unworthy of the Marriott Bonvoy brand.

. Room 438 is the one we were assigned, and due to exhaustion from traveling we didn’t ask for a room change. For future reference and future customers:

-We had ONE set of towels and there were two of us
-There was a brown stain on the comforter, thankfully that was the only one we saw on the bedding.
-The water in the shower took a full 6 minutes to warm up enough to get in it
-The lamps that were supposed to be on the bedside tables weren’t there
-“Bathroom” tile grout was disgustingly & the spackle on the “painted wall” by the sink was unpleasant
-No garbage can liner was found
-The “ceiling tiles” in the bedroom area looked like they were ready to collapse at any time
-The outlet on the left side of the bed (if you are facing the bed) overheated and sparked when i tried to charge my phone
-Netflix did not work on tv
-Room smelled very musty and the air was stagnant
-Carpet in the hallway as well as in the room was stained and dirty

Basically, the thing we paid for was the location of the hotel as well as a $50 pet fee for a service animal. The area was beautiful, the hotel was not. As a faithful aloft customer since 2016, I was extremely disappointed in this one. I was thrilled to get to share my love of aloft with my husband, and usually I stay at the one in Omaha, Nebraska, but we decided to drive a little further and settled on the one in Leawood. I cannot speak for the other rooms in the hotel, but 438 is definitely in need of some attention.

Hotel was on great area and cool lobby and common areas. Room was not nice. The wall paper paste is leaking through the paper. The carpet and tile was dirty and worn. The ceiling looked like it had been patched like 10 times and not by a professional. The blinds did not work so we were in a room virtually without windows. Nasty room. They said they did. It have another room to give me…probably would have been the same? Mirror in bathroom was scratched and the pain on the walls (that were not papered) we all marred up. Quality Assurance is greatly needed in this hotel.

This is an inviting place to stay. Unfortunately, the rooms are worn. Our mattress was abysmally hard. The hanging door to the bathroom was off the tracks, so it could not be closed and was borderline dangerous. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the area is great, with lots of places to eat and shop. But unless the rooms are upgraded, we won't return.

Staff was friendly. Location is fantastic if traveling with little kids. The drywall on the ceiling was peeling and a few stains on the carpet. Only provided 3 towels for a double queen bed room and reservations made with 4 people listed. Requested more towels from front desk one morning as we had four people in room. When we returned from our day activities, our bathroom was cleaned and linens replaced. Still only received 3 bath towels. Overall, we were satisfied and things can be overlooked for location. Ice cream, restaurants, coffee shop and turf area are all walking distance.

I went back to the front desk to tell the hotel guy and he told me that room he put me in was the city view. Don’t stay here if you’re looking for amenities. Ice maker is only on the 2nd floor where you check in. Bring your own extra towels and blankets if you need them. Other than that the bed was comfy, and location was perfect.

I booked two queen rooms and they were not available when we checked. We made one king bed room work without a pullout. Generally dirty, shower was either scorching or cold, sheets were dirty. The rooms were never cleaned or serviced. They started steam cleaning carpets at 9:30PM right outside or door. Just an overall poor experience.

Disappointing Stay

This was definitely a disappointment. While somewhat bargain priced, I have stayed here previously and expected more. The pool, which was a primary consideration for my stay, was \"closed for repairs\". I didn't find that out until the day before my stay when I was 500 miles away on a holiday weekend so I couldn't change it. The hotel itself is run down, the carpets dirty and worn, lettering worn off signs, rooms dated and overall decor dated. The room was not very clean and you could see stains and wear patterns in the carpet...like an old Vegas hotel or something. I stayed here 10 years ago and nothing has changed. It was a neat concept then but now it's just a worn out business hotel. I'll stay elsewhere next time.

Lovely hotel that’s out of order

Everything was out of order and we had to move rooms more than once. We only stayed 2 nights so it was very inconvenient. The staff was absolutely professional when handling the issues; however they did not have a replacement room for what I booked. The toilet did not flush at all which makes the entire room out of order. The room they had available did not have a working tv. The other room did not have a pull out sofa. It was quite the ordeal. The laundry facilities are broken, the air in the main area is not working. I came inside the hotel and it was still hot. The elevator stopped working as well. A few other little things BUT the inoperable TOILET is what started our stay.

Came home after 1 day do to so much inconvenience. was only given a partial refund for one night, booked hotel for three nights. NEVER will use hotel.com again. Compare to ordering a steak and getting a hamburger

I frequent at this specific location. My check in was a little later in the evening and knew that the hotel had limited rooms available when booking. Walking into the room it was a handicap accessible room which was not really a problem but there was foul odor as if the previous guest had just left. The bedding was not replaced. It had stains and the foul odor was coming from the comforter, sheets and pillows along with stains. The room phone did not work so had to contact the front desk by my cellphone. The room attendant arrived with new bedding and handed it to me to remake the bed myself because she was off duty for the night. Even the supposed clean sheets had stains as well. Honestly me and my finance could bare the smell or the fact the bedding potentially was not clean so checked out a little earlier.

This place was terrible. Parking wasn’t even close to the hotel. The air conditioning didn’t work. They sent up a fan and the first fan didn’t work. Please just shut this place down. I m 63 years old and have never wrote a bad review on anything. Lights didn’t work Mold on the ceiling! Please stay away!

The Netflix did not work, not waa there any attempt to fix it while we were there. The pool was freezing cold, and the we spent $9 on washing and drying our clothes, and neither one worked. There was no attempt in reimbursing for the failed equipment. The area was quite lovely though.

Neat location, needs some improvements

The person working the front desk was very impersonable at check in. The bartender was VERY RUDE!! and the pool needed LOTS of chlorine. The dirtiness of it caused us to go home with a bacteria infection. The hotel itself is in a neat location and clean for the most part, however, your staff needs improvement on their customer service skills.
