Staff werw nuce and helpful. Breakfast was ok and plentiful. Room wasnt great. Linen was clean and shower room in good condition, but furnishings were old fashioned . Worst thing was the noise , constant noise from outside and inside from doors and corridors. There was noise from what sounded like morors , which im guessing was kitchen extractors also rowdy noise from pubs , constant yelling , singing and banging until 1-2 am . I would not stay again because of this.

The reception staff were very helpful in advising how to use the hotel avoiding the chargeable zones which are number recognition and a fine is sent. We managed to get a space a short distance away avoiding these zones.

We stayed for 4 nights. First night the room was cleaned next morning. The 2nd day bed linen was not changed . The 3rd day same thing no bed linen changed . Also the bathroom toilet was not cleaned and the plastic cups were taken and not replaced. Also the toilet paper was removed from the toilet hanger athough there was paper still on it and they did not replace it. Very poor housecleaning . Also resturant in the hotel messed up a dinner order and we finally recieved it 40 minutes later. It was only a ceaser salad with chicken on it. They did not charge me for the meal. Also no airconditioning, so the room was very hot. They did supply a small fan but it only helped a bit. Slept with two windows open all night but realy did not help . The only reason we booked this hotel was it was close to the train station that we arrived in . I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Because of the windows being open we heard a lot of noise frome the street. Tats what i meant by noisy. Hotel was quite inside.

Very close to bus and train station so able to walk to property on arrival. Liked the hotel but our neighbour in next room kept banging the door shut. He also tried the door to our room at midnight on our first night. Not sure if drunk or just didn't realise it wasn't his room but woke us all up. Our door was double locked but we did get a fright. Perhaps the hotel could invest in slow closing hinges for the loud banging as the doors very heavy. The breakfast food wasn't very hot and the first morning we couldn't eat the omelette as it smelt funny. Wasn't sure if eggs were off. The staff were quick to remove when I notified them. The third morning all the breakfast was lovely so not sure if different cooks. The milk also needs put in the fridge or in something that keeps it cold as the milk for the tea on the third morning was off and we had to ask for different cup as it was floating with the bits of milk. Can I suggest using the fridge for the fruit and yogurts. If the bowls were placed elsewhere there would be room in the bottom for the jug of milk.

Excellent place to stay. Best value of the 6 places we visited in Scotland. Loved the photos in the lobby of the history of the hotel and Aberdeen. Did the bus tour around Aberdeen - very beautiful architecture everywhere. Also, live music in the hotel pub every night and we took full advantage of that.

Upon arrival the room was over 80 degrees. Super hot. We asked the front desk to assist and they told us they had no other fans or anything to give us.

We were told by local people at the restaurant that the older hotels have issues where the upper floors get very hot. If you know this about you hotel, you should buy things to prepare for it. Install some additional fans or something.

We went back down the desk twice to ask about it. They were very nice but could offer nothing to help. At one point a person even came up to the room and said \"Wow it's very hot in here\" but then proceeded to not be able to help.

Overall not the most comfortable sleep at all for 2 days.

Even if from out side the hotel look like old and grey once that you are inside all the furnishings are good. Reception and lobby are good - receptionist are very friendly.
Room are good bath clean. Hotel is located in the city centre at 2 minutes of the bus station reachable from the airport by bis 727. At 3 min by walk there is also the train sttion and a car park (£6 per day). Around there are pub cafe an restaurant. All attraction are reachble in 5 min by walk.

We were booked into a single room by Expedia , despite having paid for a double room for 2 occupants. Luckily, the hotel staff were able to relocate us. We then discovered that breakfast was not included in our booking. This was surprising, considering that we had several friends staying in the same hotel for even less cost, but still included breakfast. It was very noisy throughout the whole night, and we had very little sleep.

We did enjoy our stay in the apartment , but when booking didn't realise it was going to b out with the hotel . We had to go outside and up a busy lane. We understood when booking ,breakfast was included for 2 , my wife and myself. When we went to get breakfast the girl said the breakfast was only booked for 1 . We said no booked for 2. She was very nice and said take your breakfast for both of you and speak to reception when you check out. When we checked out receptionist said you have to pay for 1 breakfast , we said when we booked the apartment it said with free breakfast ,
When booking online it said for 2 people the bed was a double so I can't understand why it would only b for one breakfast . We refused to pay but the

We checked in at 11:30pm only to find out rooom already occupied. The room occupants (including a young child) were understandably startled and afraid. We then had to wait for staff to knock on another room door (at midnight) to find us a room. No apology was offered and the receptionist couldn’t even stop what she was doing (cutting sellotape with her teeth!) and look me in the eye and apologize. Room (119 - avoid it) had a big pink stain on the carpet and water stains on the bedside table (you can remove that with a warm iron - google it).

Don’t do it!

Road construction made it impossible to get to, that should have been a red flag. First room smelled like cigarettes and so we asked to move and the second room didn’t smell any better. Horrible night sleep. Got out of there as quick as we could. Won’t be going back!

Ideal for us for an overnight stay. We had a meal booked at Mollys Bistro and a show at the Tivoli. Room was spacious and had all we needed.

Walls a bit thin, as we were woken up by next doors toddler having a tantrum at 3 in the morning, and again at 7 when he started again. Not the hotels fault though.

Breakfast was great, and a short walk back to the station to head home.

Our room on the first floor was above a very loud function. We were not told of the function. At 10 PM we called the front desk and they told us that they should have informed us of the function and moved us to the fourth floor. There was no working elevator and the fourth floor was 85° and there was no way to turn off the heat so we had to open the windows And then we could still hear the function from the first floor When we spoke to the staff about it, they could care less and we’re very rude

We were placed in a 1st floor above a room hosting an event. Very loud! They moved us to a 4th floor room at 10pm. They said we should have been warned. The elevator was broken at 10 PM. We had to move all of our belongings up for flights to our new room. That room was 80° and there was no way to turn down the heat. They shoukd gave refunded our room.

Really good value for money, a whole apartment very central to bars and restaurants. Staff were fabulous. Pillows quite firm and noisy outside but that can’t be helped it was Saturday night! We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. It is an older property but it is very comfortable. The beds are excellent and the facilities are ideal.
There is a very good buffet breakfast available and a good bar downstairs.
The staff are all very nice and I really can't fault this place. I have no hesitation in recommending staying here.

Nice rooms, great location, friendly staff. However heating is a nightmare, insanely hot in hotel rooms and no way to regulate temperature except leaving windows open constantly and even then was uncomfortably hot.

Not even worth an overnight

We were put into room 329 to begin with it was freezing and there was a dead moth on the ceiling. The mattress was rock hard. My husband called reception to ask about the heating and was very abruptly told they control it from there he had to ask for it to be put on. After 20 mins of sitting in a cold room we had to complain to reception at first they offered us a heater, why would we need this was there an issue with the heating of the rooms hmm unsure. We were then asvised they could move us to another room which we accepted and proceeded to go pack up our belongings to then have to go back down to reception to get another key card. Breakfast was cold and not anywhere near a full Scottish breakfast very poor choice

I have mobility issues so I was happy that my room (314) was easily accessible. My one ignorable complaint would be that the bath was a bit on the small side. However, I am 6'2\".

Central and comfortable, with friendly and efficient staff. The place could do with a bit of updating, but for the price it was fine. Quite noisy outside if you’ve got the window open, but it was a Friday in the city centre, so kind of expected! The restaurant downstairs does basic pub food, ok for a quick bite before heading out. All in all, it’s fine for a night or two, and would stay again.

The staff I met in the morning was nice and polite. No complaints.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at The Douglas. Which was less than an 5 minute walk from many amenities. Arrived 2 hours early for check in but our room was ready and we managed to check in right away, receptionist very helpful and friendly. Our room albeit a bit dated, was clean and fresh. The buffet breakfast, had plenty choice, and everything was of good quality. Dining staff extremely attentive and made sure nothing was running out. All in all a great experience at this hotel, and would have no reason to not recommend it. My partner and I will certainly be staying here on our next trip to Aberdeen.
