The hotel is located right next to the train station. Staff was very nice and professional. Excellent buffet breakfast. The only problem was only one key (an actual room key, not keycard) was provided for three people sharing a room. Although we just had an overnight stay, we liked the hotel and convenient location so we would stay there again.

The whole hotel was luxurious including the waiting area near the reception desk.

We stayed on the 11th Floor and the room looks like newly renovated. Spacious and very clean. We could access the beverage section on the 4th Floor which provides coffee, tea, wine and cup noodles too😊. Will stay again when we visit Kumamoto next time!!

The two nights we spent at this hotel were the best thus far. The staff was attentive and spoke enough english to help us with anything.

The hotel is right beside a mall. There a bunch of restaurants to choose from as well.

The room itself was clean and we always had towels avaliable. The only part that was annoying was that drain for the shower was clogged.

Very close to the train station

Overall a very excellent hotel. The breakfast in the restaurant was very good. It had a large selection. being very close to the train station made it very convenient. There was also access to other forms of transportation very close. If you have a rental car, there is a Parkade you must pay for behind the hotel. The rental car centres are also located very close to the hotel.

連泊清掃なしは良いけれど2日目の水やアメニティは部屋に戻った後に必要ならフロントまでもらいに行かないといけないのは不便。アメニティはともかく水はバスタオルや寝巻きと一緒に配布しても良いのでは？と思いました。ちなみに一泊目に寝巻きがなく用意のないホテルなんだと思ったけど2日目はタオルセットと一緒に配布されました。

We stayed in Kumamoto for three nights. Rooms were spacious and clean. It was sweet they provided a little bag for my son with slippers. The staff was friendly and spoke English. I enjoyed extra clean towels each day. The breakfast buffet had a lot of selections for western type food but was more pricey than I would have liked to spend. This hotel was walking distance to the train station which was very convenient for us. Overall, I enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

This property needs to be updated. Rooms appear old and outdated. Room size was good but the carpet is old and appears dirty in the halls and in the rooms. The bed is hard and feels like you are sleeping on a box spring. I literally could feel the round springs. The pillows were hard. Also be careful when booking I did not realize I booked a smoking room and my room smelled like cigarettes. They did change it to a nonsmoking room for additional charges. The staff was very warm and friendly. The staff and location were the best part of the stay here. Right next to the rental car and train station.

Very minor negatives. WiFi was a bit unstable. I would prefer a chair with a back to sit at the desk. There was a bit of thumping noise this morning between 7.30 and 9.00.

Good location

Old-style stay. We have a real key instead of a card key. But the location was really good. There was an event just in front of the hotel.
Very near to the mall. You could also walk to Kumamoto Castle, like 30 mins. The bus was also very convenient.

We chose this hotel due to the special Kumamoto decoration for the kids as a surprise for the trip. It was a very enjoyable three night stay as we loved the cute Kumamon bears that the kids loved playing, appreciated the spacious room and layout that fit ideally for a family of four with young kids and loved its close proximity to the Kumamoto station and Amu Plaza shopping centre. The kids were so sad when we had to leave for the next location.

The hotel upgraded us to a larger room. Room was very quiet even though the hotel was next to the JR station. Great location and very convenient to all shinkansen, local trains, trams and buses. Buffet breakfast had a good spread. The reception staff were very friendly and even recommended us one of the best ramen we have tasted in Japan at the JR station. Our only issue was that our bed sank in the left side and had probably seen better days. Overall, we would definitely stay again at The New Hotel Kumamoto if we return to the city.

It is alright overall. Plus point is the convenience because is next to Kumamoto Station. Front desk know very basic English. They could not understand if you ask complicated question. I booked the Kumamoto themed room. The room is quite run down and old. I read other articles online that they used to offer souvenirs if you book the theme room but they no longer offer that now. Parking is behind the hotel for 1,000 JPY per day, which is considered cheap for Japan.

Great location, 5 mins from Kumamoto station and tram station. Many food options in AMU Plaza and the food hall in the train station. Traveling around is convenient. I booked a Delux twin room, room is very spacious and clean. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. My family and I had a great stay!

They had supplied a few drinks inside the room refrigerator, however, the explanation on the sheet written in ENGLISH is totally incorrect. Basically says the drinks in the fridge are already paid for, which wasn't the case, but the ENGLISH was written that way. I think it's an embarrassment to the hotel. They should just say drinks are not included with the room rate.

Pros: great hotel and service, a few minutes walk from Kumamoto train station at an affordable price. Both tram and bus stops directly outside. Parking is easy at the back, and they reimburse you 300yen (multi-storey parking 900yen for 24hours. There's also a ground level metered one next door for 800yen). Room was large and spacious, with a work desk and another corner couch with table - was a nice surprise as I had a lot of work to do.
Cons: this is only for the superstitious Asians (which I am) - we got the standard king' room which was on a corner and room was odd shaped. We had the front door directly facing the bed and the large mirror on desk wall was overlooking the bed - not kosher for the feng shui concerned.

Otherwise, loved the place and location, thank you!
