We had an amazing stay once again at De Vere Tortworth Court. My partner and I have visited before, and we enjoyed it so much that we couldn’t wait to come back.

It’s such a relaxing place to stay, with clean rooms and a lovely, homely feel throughout. The grounds and atmosphere make it perfect for switching off and unwinding.

I’d 100% recommend booking a two-night stay instead of just one — one night really isn’t enough to fully enjoy everything.

One thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant and drinks are quite pricey. However, if it’s within your budget, they’re absolutely worth it for the quality and experience.

Our room was upgraded free of charge after I informed them that I was coming with a mobility scooter (having what I hope is a temporary ailment where I find it extremely difficult to walk). The room was large, very clean, comfortable and with no noise. There’s plenty of choice on the menus of good quality freshly cooked foods and the large buffet breakfast will keep you full all day!

I came here years ago the whole experience was amazing i felt spoilt couldn’t wait to come back but it has changed to much for me on arrival I wasn’t told we had to book the pool so on arrival was turned away had to come back next sat pool was cold now have to rent a gown when gowns and slippers were provided we took guests and her lamb was so under done was returned 3 times the room was clean

We visited for a short break to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We received a free upgrade to a beautiful suite. The hotel is stunning, the grounds beautiful.
We made good use of the pool and spa facilities which are great 😊
Breakfast was amazing and evening dinner deicious.
We would definitely love to return.

Messaged hotel after booking to request for our 2 rooms to be adjacent as we were travelling with 2 children. Requested the same at the check in counter upon arrival and were assured by staff that rooms were next to each other. Turns out, staff used incorrect floor map so our rooms were not in fact next to each other. Went back to reception to request for change, were told no availability and staff were not particularly helpful seemed blasé about the our situation. Dinner was good at the restaurant, bed comfortable and overall a good stay.

the room was lovely, clean, fresh, we were in the accommodation including dogs, there was no dirty floors or smell. the bed was very comfy, and there was no outside noise, very nice.
the spa had lovely treatment areas, the pool was on the ground floor, and the spa was on the first floor, the toilet and changing rooms for women were on the first floor, so up stairs from the pool, so just a little awkward if you needed a wee while in the pool, but the over all experience of the facility was very good.
the restaurant for breakfast was lovely, plenty of tables, loads of menu choice and excellent value for money. we used both restaurant's during our stay, 2 nights, and were a little disappointed that our meal was 50 minutes from ordering, while other meals were not, just having to ask after our order dampened the excitement of the stay that evening, our other meal was delivered in good time. both meals were lovely.
the hotel and grounds are beautiful, clean, stunning, amazing views, and lovely gardens and grounds, litter free, and very well kept
over all, restful, lovely spa treatments, lovely food, plenty of areas to walk the dog and stretch our legs. we will go again.

The building and grounds is steeped in history and is absolutely beautiful. The staff were beyond friendly and helpful in so many ways I can't even begin to tell you as there wouldn't be enough room here! We were upgraded as it was my husbands 40th birthday, which was a lovely surprise, and there was a birthday card and big bar of chocolate waiting in our room (which had premium brands of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits etc etc). We had the pool and sauna etc to ourselves on the first use and was quiet on the second and was a really lovely way to relax after a day exploring the Cotswolds. Dinner in the main restaurant and atrium bar was delicious (dined in restaurant twice and atrium once). A thoroughly enjoyable break and birthday celebration for my husband who was blown away by the whole thing (it was kept a secret til the moment we pulled up, which certainly gave the wow factor I had hoped for!)

Steam room had no hose to wash off the benches, sauna had bits of wood hanging off inside.
The hot breakfast, only the sausages where warm, everything else cold
The rope on the flagpole outside my room slapped like a cracking whip all night and I got very little sleep
When I mentioned this to the manager at checkout he said sorry, the grounds staff should have taken it down - end of conversation!

The hotel is beautiful and grand aesthetic from the moment of arrival. Staff were very friendly and the choice of restaurants offers a great tasting options. The breakfast was also vast with high quality foods on offer.
Spa and gym were good with the pool at a good temperature. The slight negative is layout with the steam too and sauna upstairs.
The rooms were clean and well layed out. They felt slightly tired but we're quiet and cosy.
Lastly, plenty of electric chargers made the stay easy.
Definitely worth it for a couples break or a wedding.

Good breakfast selection, the major issue i had with my stay was the cleanies of the room, the first room we had the radiator was brooken on full heat, a simple fix which the hotel would have know about prior to us checking into the room if they have done an inspection after the previous people. Their was pen marks on the bed sheets and around the coffee station their was dirt and water in the glasses from when they have been washed. Their was scuff marks all around the hotel, hotel requires a lick of paint. The hotel did accomdiate and allowed us to change rooms. The attention of detail around the hotel when it comes to cleaning needs to increase, i noticed by one of the water stations in the corridor a spider had mades it home and was their 2 days later.

We arrived and had the deluxe room at the Mansion, unfortunately the cleanliness was not upto standard considering the start rating of this hotel, there was a dead fly on the bedding. Fortunately, the manager took immediate action and upgraded us to the courtyard suite, which we were grateful for. The suite was okay, cleanliness was on par, but there were cobwebs everywhere. I have a dust allergy, so it wasn't pleasant. The walls are so thin!! I could hear the person upstairs snoring. Would not recommend staying on ground for that reason! The second night was fine. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Honestly speaking, the hotel was lovely, very aesthetically pleasing, but needs a bit more attention.

I had a good stay at this hotel. I went with my partner and I met a university friend here. Staff are very friendly and accommodating especially in the atrium and the library bar. I met the head of catering who was very open to what I had to say about the catering which I really appreciated. If he reads this I’d say keep on doing what you are doing, very good approach. The hotel is set in the most beautiful surroundings, a tree heaven. The building is majestic and the interior decor is lovely with interesting sculptures. Even though it was very busy, the staff were always helpful. They seemed to enjoy working there. The food was consistently delicious. The rooms were large and well equipped. The only problem was that you needed a map to find your way round.

Absolute terrible experience, was not given room that was booked, placed elsewhere. Informed room was not available, placed with wedding party which turned into an all night battle field. Complained at 02.30 and again at 04.30. Informed by desk staff that their is a problem but no resolution: Fell asleep in chair at 05.30. Complained to Duty Manager at 08.30 whom admitted they had received a torrent of complaints, requested restitution? Reply; Oh I will be in touch! Missed (paid) breakfast came away with a banana and a yoghurt (no spoon). what are you to do for me Expedia as this shambles was booked through you?

Had a lovely stay for a birthday get away. Really nice hotel with a good pool and jacuzzi. The sauna and steam room are up a set of stairs which felt odd leaving the pool area but once used to it it was fine. Sauna was way to hot for us though. Room was a basic double and i would upgrade to a better suite if its for comfort. Not to say the room isnt adequate it has everything you need and is more than good enough. Just could of had a little more luxury. Breakfast is great and food on offer is a good selection. It does get busy in the casual diner.

We booked a room as part of a wedding party .wedding was at 2pm.
Check in is 4pm which is quite late ,we had to be in the orangery for 4pm so staff managed to check us in 3.40pm .Room was perfect, slept well,breakfast amazing. Food at the wedding of Becky and Mark was incredible. Our first visit here and we will definitely return and use the pool/spa as we didn't get chance to on this occasion.
Check out at 11am is good, no rushing around. Thankyou for a lovely stay

We had a really nice 2 night stay, we checked in earlier as our room was ready, which was a lovely start.

The hotel was beautiful, the service was excellent, the bed was very comfortable, the shower hot and powerful.

We enjoyed some nice food in the atrium bar, a lovely afternoon tea in the 1853 restaurant. And some nice 6 oclock gin on the terrace - all with fantastic service.

The only negative was the room was so hot it was uncomfortable, a fan was provided and was really needed. There was also a huge generator outside, and the loading bay was noisy. (room 6 - junior suite)

The hotel is in a nice setting within large private parkland but also convenient to the motorway and touring the Cotswolds. Parking is good and the hotel has good facilities and a nice restaurant. I had a deluxe room. Fine for just one night and the bathroom was good. However, it did not feel 'deluxe'. The fridge/ mini bar had been removed, so nowhere to store cold drinks and water: I stayed in the summer heat. Bed pillows were small and rubbish. And this not acceptable in a deluxe room.The TV system was too dated. So, I could not stream onto it with my devices.

A grand-looking property and there are some good aspects to it for sure - the dining and kitchen-related aspects are the highlight being well-cooked and well-prepared with serving staff that are courteous and good-humoured.

The main hotel experience itself however is a bit of a let-down. The staff around the the accommodation and front-of-house seem worn-down and a bit disinterested.

Our first room had ants in it - not just around the patio doors but they were also in the bed. The desk clerk didn't seem too concerned by this and offered no apology, simply asking where the ants were seen. We were moved to a different room upstairs and on the other side of the block (even though we'd paid more to have the courtyard...) and whilst this room did not have ants, it did have to suffer with the loud thumping noise of an event until the middle of the evening.

The rooms don't have air conditioning so it's quite stifling on a hot day. The windows all have security cables preventing them from being opened properly unless you trapse back down to reception to sign a waiver and get someone to come back up (over an hour later) to unlock them for you - the chap mentioned this being a frequent request - which begs the question as to why they don't pro-actively offer this on arrival if they know it's going to happen? The creaky, super-budget desk-fan supplied fell apart when we touched it, sending a shower of dust across the room.

The mattress quality was OK - which was one saving grace.

We got married there in 2006 so holds special memories. So was disappointed at the amount of dust in the stairwells and around lights. Also the room was ridiculously hot and not air con. The fan did nothing to help which made for a restless night .

This hotel was incredibly convenient for me, I really loved the location and the exterior was incredible and really lovely, I think the price was amazing and the breakfast was so lovely. We dined in the main restaurant for dinner and I couldn’t fault it! The staff were so kind and I appreciated the efforts to make me feel welcome. The pool was fun and the jacuzzi was amazing, I needed a little reset and this was great. Outside seating was great, just a shame there was so many wasps but I guess that can’t be helped in summer.

Although the reception area is breath taking it kinda went sideways after that. We had a deluxe manor suit which was no where the standard I was expecting. The room itself was okay albeit the carpet needed a good hovering. I and my wife are disabled so being situated on the second floor was at first okay as we knew there was a lift however once you eventually arrived on your floor ( lift is somewhat dated and slow) we found more steps down to our corridor. This didn’t bode well for me as I struggle to bend my knees so finding out once we were in the room that the shower was over a bath. The room decor and presentation was good at first it’s only when you start to dig you find things don’t work right. The view from the window was hugely disappointing with it looking down on the delivery area. So in the morning you had the beeping of Lorrie’s reversing and pallet truck and cages rattling around. There is no aircon in the building so when it’s sunny you just melt.
The atrium restaurant was nice but again it has a glass roof so it became unbearable to sit there which is a good thing in some respects as the restaurant is soo expensive a lot of guests try and get in there but it has limited seating. The hotel feels more like it caters for the corporate client not the family holidays and this is very apparent with the average disabled facilities. Having the sauna and steam room on the upper floor is a joke in a dated and poor maintained pool area. Just felt dirty and neglected.
