Was not cheep. The plates were cold on the breakfast for both days so the breakfast was going cold as we were eating. Waiter said the plate warmer has just gone off, said that both days. And the parking was £30.00 in the hotel. As we were stopping there that should be included as the hotel was not cheep. This was our golden wedding anniversary and these problems spoilt what was going to be special. The room was amazing as it was a family room so all not bad.

The room needed a bit of tlc. There was damp on the wall and paint coming off. On another wall there must’ve been something spilled on it and not cleaned up. It is advertised that they have a gym but apparently that has been closed for two years. It is a nice hotel and location wise is great.

Checked in and paid for 7 Nights, Checked out after 4 nights. Stated it catered for Gluten Free, when actually after the first morning breakfast that the hotel has no idea what food allergies are.
They had no Separation between the sausages, bacon and black pudding all were thrown into the same serving dish.
Nothing was labelled to say it was Gluten free or not. The staff were asked and just shugged there shoulders. Only 1 pathetic toaster for over100 plus guests.
All the equipment was squashed into one corner, considering the space in the restaurant it was a joke. Queuing to get to the toaster.
Children running a mock, nothing said to anybody, nearly dropped boiling water on top of a child, parents not really caring.
Wife asked for Gluten Free breakfast, and was given 2 slices of warm GF bread, that was it as everything else contained Gluten or was cross contaminated. No GF cereal etc at all.
Room was lovely and clean, but tired, grout to bathroom floor was missing 50% of the grout.
Complained to 4 different staff about the GF food issue, all of the was not bothered in the slightest.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU HAVE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES, more like a 2 Star B+B, not a 4/5 Star hotel it claims to be.

Breakfast was at best warm, no tea pots was advised there wasnt any despite a table sat with tea pots!
Toast pastries all ran out on the first day.
Room was clean but very warm first day cleaning staff knocked on the door just after 9am which was a bit early really in my opinion and the second we were awake from 6:20am anyway with a noise of a motor or something that rang for 2hours till the room finally fell quiet.
Shame about breakfast and looking forward to my own bed!

Myself and my husband chose this hotel for our anniversary and it didn’t disappoint! The hotel staff upgraded our room when we arrived and wow what a treat it was! The room was beautiful and so were the views from our room. It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel is a short walk in to the little town where there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars. The hotel over looks the boat docks so you can easily get boat tours around the lake. There is parking on site which does have a charge of £15 per day. The breakfast buffet was perfect. It was fairly small but had everything you could want. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and want to thank the staff for making our anniversary extra special!

Firstly we were upgraded before we arrived, the room was newly refurbished and a great view of the garden and the lake. The staff are second to none here. I’ve never been to a hotel before where even 15 minutes before breakfast is due to finish staff are still bring out fresh hot food at the buffet, and to eat breakfast over the lake is amazing. Big shout out alga’s to go to Moses at the hotel bar, a true gent, excellent service and an amazing cocktail maker. The location of the hotel is amazing. We shall be returning next year without a shadow of a doubt! Well done to all who work at the Belsfield.

The hotel is a great location, I feel like it does rely on that for the price point. There’s lots of areas that need a fresh lick of paint and a deep clean. Also, there’s only the breakfast room that overlooks the lake so that’s your only chance to enjoy the views if you are in a standard room. The room was beautiful however again, mould patch above window and areas that needed a good clean eg the bath needed some unblocker and the radiator had open pipes due to missing part which revealed a lot of dust. Also, only has shutters so for people who like darkness like me, you aren’t getting that- I would expect curtains over the blinds and a turn down service for the amount it costs. Also, would have been nice to have cases taken to room or atleast directed to the easier route to avoid wandering round trying to find the room with cases. The gardens are lovely and a big perk is being able to get to the pier through the gardens, would have been lovely to know information like this on arrival.

Had a great stay. Staff welcomed us on arrival and assisted us with bags from the car even in the rain without any request. All staff were really helpful and lent us umbrellas due to wet weather. Room was lovely and spacious and was clean. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was plentiful with good choice and very tasty. The hotel is doing some renovations but it had no effect on our stay. Would definitely look to stay again

Fabulous few days here. We stayed in a four poster suite with lake view and it was perfect.

The room was spacious with a seating area to view the lake and all the activity on it. The bathroom was great, with the choice of a standing free bath and a modern shower with excellent rain water experience. The bed was extra large and so comfortable with soft pillows and duvet. Plenty of tea, coffee and Kendal mint cake to enjoy a cuppa in the room.

The bar and restaurant were excellent. Happy with the choices for the breakfast buffet. We ate in the restaurant each evening and was really happy with the quality and presentation of the food - thanks for good chefs! For a light meal, we recommend the halloumi chips and the bbq sticky chicken.

All the hardworking staff we met from cleaners, bar, waiting, reception were very friendly and made you feel welcome. All were great ambassadors for the hotel!

Would recommend to anyone; and we will return ourselves!

The interior design of this hotel was impeccable, with beautiful fluffy chairs and bar stools! The staff were friendly too. The breakfast was high quality, fresh and plentiful. The bed and bedding was very comfortable, but a Cosy Garden Room was indeed quite cosy. However, the scaffolding in place and unkempt work site spoilt the beautiful view from the dining room. Expedia said there’s an on site gym, but it’s been flooded and out of use for some time. Personally I reluctantly report that I found this to be overpriced for what was on offer.

Have stayed here previously and really enjoyed our stay. Again, enjoyed our stay and love how handy it is to walk into Bowness. Staff are brilliant especially Moses on the bar who just makes you want to smile. Only negatives are that currently there is some building work taking place and our ensuite was tight to say the least. This did not spoil our stay but loses a star in my rating.

We booked a Lakeview suite and when we arrived we discovered scaffolding on the front of hotel which blocked our view. The windows were filthy and debris was scattered outside the windows. Workers were constantly outside our windows necessitating the drapes be shut all day. So much for our lake view. As well we could constantly hear them which made taking an afternoon nap impossible. The hotel seemed to think a discount of 20% would make up for this. How wrong they are! The manager would not speak to my husband personally although we asked to speak to them. The staff here are wonderful, the manager notwithstanding.
The breakfasts are below average. Everything was lukewarm, including tea. There are no teapots, no milk jugs. I wonder what the Department of Health and Safety would say to the food served at lukewarm temperatures? There is no hand sanitizer available in the buffet area. How soon we forget the lessons of COVID. We watched many people cough or sneeze into their hands and then use the common serving utensils.
In the rooms there are no face cloths, no Kleenex, no coffee maker. The blow drier in our room was very dirty, it needed to be cleaned, I hated using it.
There is much room for improvement at this hotel if it bills itself as a luxury hotel.
The employees here are its best asset. They’re really wonderful.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and fairly modern. There was some scaffolding outside, and painters could be seen working on the exterior wall from the breakfast area. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the furniture or its condition, but I was informed that the property is under new ownership and currently undergoing refurbishment—so it’s likely not the final look yet. The location, however, was perfect for our needs.

Nice overnight stay.

Lovely hotel, great location, plenty parking, friendly staff, nice room - was a cosy double lake view, room was much bigger than expected, the bathroom was only small though but perfectly fine. Everywhere was very clean. Breakfast on Saturday was delicious with lots of choice.

However, if you’re going soon I would recommend checking with hotel about the scaffolding if paying for a lake view. It didn’t ruin the stay but it was a surprise.

Dislikes. paying for parking, this really angered me when checking out to be told it’s an extra £15. I have already paid to stay at the hotel and to be given an extra charge didn't sit well.

Contactless only. Again if I had know this before booking I probably wouldn’t have chosen to stay here. It did stop me using the bar and restaurant as I prefer cash. Really poor decision by hotel.
