I had an excellent stay at Ellerbrook House. It’s conveniently located a block away from the Windermere High Street. I was able to walk into town every night with a great choice of local cafes, restaurants and pubs.
My room was fantastic. To my surprise I had what looks like a new but very large bed. My room was completely renovated. New bathroom fittings good water pressure. I was on the top floor and found it very quiet at night and it was well heated. My room was made up every day too.
Lastly, the best bit! The breakfast!!! 3 days in a row I had the full English Breakfast. Really fantastic. Served out in a nice downstairs front room with fresh cereals, juices and coffee. Also interestingly enough even the place mats were good, made of local slate.
I’d stay again and so should you.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Ellerbrook House. The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. The triple room was very cosy with enough space for myself and my son. The shower room was small and clean but didn't have a sink. The sink was in the bedroom. The area was quiet and within easy distance from Windermere with train, bus and shopping facilities.

The property is lovely! It’s the perfect distance from the train station while also being close to bowness and the lake. Rob is very helpful when giving recommendations and is very knowledgeable about the area. He also makes a great breakfast!

This was my first time staying in a B&B and it was lovely. The room was very comfortable with a small sofa and tv and the little things like wine glasses and a corkscrew and bathrobes just added to it. Having wine glasses with an opener in the room is a really nice touch. It was nice to kick back and relax with a glass of wine after lots of walking. I had a lovely stay here, the room was clean, well kept and had a nice decor. I mentioned I was vegan and the hosts offered to bring soya milk to my room and adjusted my cooked breakfast accordingly. I didn’t like that the walls were so thin that I could hear when they turned on the light (with the extractor fan) in another room and you could hear the boiler going. When others came in late at night I was disturbed.
The B&B was in walking distance to Orrest Head, Windermere town and Windermere on Bowness. The staff gave lovely recommendations also for things to do/places to go. All in all I had a pleasant stay!

Lovely house, was welcomed by Becky, very friendly. Room was lovely, comfortable bed , very clean, tea and coffee making facilities, clean towels and robes. Room was light, spacious and airey. The was enough hanging and draw space and even had a fan, which we used, as very warm while we were there. The only draw back is separate shower and toilet with our room. It was just for us but leaving the room every time, day or night, you wanted the toilet or to have a shower wasn't for us. There was also a wash basin in the room which helped. Its just personal preference. The breakfast was lovely and very relaxed, we met Beckys partner Rob, who was also very friendly and informative. The atmospwe here in the house was friendly and informal. We Would definitely say here again just in one of the on suite rooms next time. We would totally recommend this b&b, house and wners are lovely, great location, walkable to most the facilities that Windermere has to offer. Great stay!

Great location only a couple of minutes on foot into Windermere and 10-15 minutes down to Bowness-on-Windermere.

This is a beautiful B and B close to the centre of Windermere town and within 20 mins walk of the lake at Bowness. The owners, Robert and Becky l, were excellent hosts. They were knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble.

A lovely stay at Ellerbrook House. Hosts were able to accommodate an early check in & stored my bags on the day of check out which was greatly appreciated. I had a great stay here. The location is ideal, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and approximately 10 minutes away from Lake Windemere and the ferry pier. Plently of places to eat in the local area. The quiet accommodation has convenient street parking. The room I stayed in was on the second floor and well presented with a smart ensuite bathroom and tea/coffee facilities.

Lovely place to stay in a great location. The rooms are a little small difficult navigating getting ready with two people in the room. Breakfast was basic, the homemade yogurt of definitely one to try! Warm and welcoming staff. Overall a lovely little place!

Our room was comfortable and clean but we wish we had understood 'private bathroom' had meant 'down the corridor' instead of en suite. This was our misunderstanding but just be aware that if you book this room you have to walk past another room/guests to get to the loo in the night! Plus the 'bathroom' was not much bigger than a cupboard is situated right at the top of the stairs. When my daughter needed me to take her to the toilet in the night, I had to climb into the shower cubicle so she could get to the loo as it's on an angle and a small space. It did have the feature of a small kep hole you could look through whilst on the loo so you could watch passers by if that floats your boat. It was clean so we stayed and got with our holiday and saw little point in complaining as we had nowhere else to stay and had arrived late on a Sunday evening. We did express our concern about the position of the loo but just met with a rebuff of 'it doesn't say ensuite in the details online', which is true. The breakfast wasn't much to write home about and we had to walk past a VERY messy lounge in order to reach the dining room and front door and this was rather off putting regarding cleanliness of the property.
