This is our second time at the Windermere. We love the helpful staff, clean room, 10-15 walk from Victoria Station, and (included) breakfast. Plus they honored the Expedia perks. Highly recommended for a cozy stay in a safe area.

On my arrival I found that the entrance door was locked and I needed to buzz the intercom to be allowed entry. I had to do this 3 times before anyone opened the door for me.
I understand that staff may be busy and away from the buzzer, if this is the case then you need a sign on the door indicating there may be a wait.
When I was allowed entry I didn’t feel the receptionist was very engaging and in a customer facing role this is essential.
My room ‘Little Ben’ was perfect for what I needed. It was exceptionally clean and functional. It was a little noisy from the room above but accept this is part and parcel of staying in a hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely welcome at the hotel by the owner. We were able to drop our luggage at reception in the morning and go exploring. Room 11 was double aspect at the front of the hotel but still quiet. The room was clean and a reasonable size. The bathroom was compact but modern and had everything you need. The twin beds were very comfortable. The excellent complimentary breakfast was served in a lovely restaurant downstairs

Everything was great: the neighborhood is a gem, it is central and yet very quite. Our room had a very nice view on the street, we had water, tea, coffee and biscuits. As we stayed in January it was a bit cool inside but it was very cosy under the blanket. We could hear our upstairs neighbors in the evening but at night it was quite. Breakfast was very nice with a choice of few but well home prepared dishes. Shout out to the staff, who were attentive and friendly.

Lovely independent owners take a personal interest in the property, breakfast service, safety. The lift in the building is much larger than most in UK. Lovely family run hotel.

Lovely family run hotel, the room was smallish, but comfortable, in a great location 10 minutes walk from Victoria train and tube station, 15 minutes walk from Buckingham Palace, the Hotel is situated in a quiet clean and sage location. The breakfasts are excellent value, very tasty and well presented. If we are ever back in London we will look to the Windermere for our stay.

It’s small hotel in a great location, staff is exceptional. Room was on the smaller side but was sufficient. They offer excellent breakfast. Despite being a few minutes from Victoria station, it’s still quiet in the evenings. Many restaurants are within walking distance. You can walk to many London attractions or hop in the train. The owners and staff are all very lovely hands in people.

This is a family run property of 12 or 15 rooms. A cooked breakfast was provided that was very good. The staff were very friendly and provided advice on transportation and nearby restaurants. The bathroom was very modern, conveniently arranged, and clean. Our room had a loveseat, desk and chair, wardrobe and bed. The room was big enough for us to open our large suitcases. It is located an easy walk to Victoria Station. The hotel does have an elevator although there may still be some short flights of steps involved.

This hotel is delightful and is in a terrific location, only a half mile from Victoria Station with wonderful dining options nearby.
The “king” bed is really a queen, and the bathroom was very narrow. I was fine, but my larger traveling companions found it challenging.
Breakfast is absolutely amazing and the staff is exceptional. Be sure to stay here if you can!

Reception staff just about average, more interested in getting Cc details even though i had paid my bill in full upfront, for extras i knew i wasn't going to have as no room service and just rock expensive drinks menu, room was unbearably hot , turned radiators off, opened window, but noisy road right outside and enormous street light right outside window both kept me awake all night along with the excessive heat of room.There was an aircon unit but no remote available to use it. Checked out early due to uncomfortable stay, Reception guy was uninterested, no pleasantries or even ask how my stay was, surely this is standard stuff. Room and bathroom were clean only positive. Will book elsewhere next time. Easy money for them with little thought to how their customers stay actually was.

I stayed several days at the Windermere Hotel. Easy walking distance to Victoria Coach station.

I stayed in a single room, which was below ground. The room was small and very clean and the bed very comfortable. I liked that the window opened. The area is very quiet.

The breakfast was very good.

Great value for the money.

I think the only downsides are, it's 15 minute walk to any variety of restaurants, and the front desk staff were standoffish.

However, I would definitely return to the Windermere.

A quiet oasis in a busy city.

The owner has clearly thought through and provided all the amenities a guest reasonably would like to be provided with. Our shower room on the ground floor was a bit small and may not be suitable for everyone but otherwise our room was very comfortable, in particular the bed which was medium firm and supportive. The breakfast was excellent with great choices and service.

The hotel is very quaint and in a nice neighborhood. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was for 3 people so it was a little crowded but the beds were comfy and had a very small tight bathroom but it was clean and nice. Only place we stayed on our trip that had actual wash cloths. Our room came with breakfast but we had to leave for the airport by 6:00 AM. They brought us coffee, yogurt with granola on it and toast and jam at 5:30AM to our room. That was so nice and we very much appreciated it.

To be fair, I did book a room described as \"perfect for a solo traveler\". so I expected small. But miniscule would be a better description. it was about the size of a walk-in closet, at below the street level so you couldn't even have the window open to give it a little light.
