The hotel didn’t really have an operational bar, had to order at the pool or restaurant. Rooms could use updating. Shower leased under the shower door. Housekeeping staff was wonderful and very responsive to any of our requests!

The pool is supper cold so if you have kids and want a warm pool this is not it, also the breakfast is expensive but the its close to the beach and the sunset is beautiful. We just went to get breakfast to a local restaurant what was 1/2 the price.

Park Royal is a nice upscale hotel set on a spectacular location overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The main attraction for me was the ocean view and the ocean air. That didn't work. I was surprised that the room windows were dirty and that you could not open the windows to let air in. What's the point of an ocean view in that case? Plus, despite the hotel being mostly empty mid-week, they put me in a less desirable location. (Low floor, angle view.) Note to management...please give your customers a decent room when you have them available.

Over all the hotel was great the only one thing I didn't like is the pressure the staff gives you to buy there vacation packages they offer us free breakfast and it was a seminar to have us buy their vacation package at last they told us to pay for breakfast because we were not interested on buying anything from them that was very rude from their part. Other than that very nice place !!

It is on the beach, and every room has a view which is nice. It Is very dirty, the windows, walls, light switches, ceiling, sink, fixtures, and furniture were not clean. They ran out of pool towels and we were told we would get one in 20 minutes, but that did not happen. The service was slow at first but with a good tip with first drink it improved. The breakfast was over priced for what was available. Garbage all over the beach on the side of the hotel, which is sad. We will not be staying here again.

Although the appearance of the hotel seems nice. The rooms are horrible. As guest you’re unable to have the windows open and if they are slightly open the security guard will have the receptionist go into the room to close them. The rooms smelled very closed in due to lack of air venting out. The security was also rude if he saw guest drinking other beer that’s not served in the restaurant from the hotel.

we never got to stay as volaris changed our flight for the 9th and we missed the eclipse we planed for for 2 years and my birthday April 11th. Horrible they would not help us with a refund or a stay later on under the circumstances .
just horrible customer service. We love Mazatlán and Mexico and is the first time we have been treated so badly.

We went to Mazatlan for the 4/9/2024 eclipse and chose to stay at Park Royal over a nearby all inclusive to be a little bit closer to town. Hotel was overall affordable. The staff was amazing and it was evident that the entire crew from ownership down wanted to make a great impression. Breakfast buffet was very good and very fairly priced. Pool was nice and beach area was great. There is a bus that runs all day in front of the hotel to take you downtown for food/drinks and only costs about $1/person each way.
Negatives: I was hit with a Time share pitch right when i walked inside the door. I could only pay for things in the restaurant with Visa- no cash/peso or AmEx. But if I wanted to tip, I had to tip in cash/peso and couldn't put that on the card. The \"bar\" is basically useless and nobody was hardly ever staffing it and certainly nobody was sitting there having a drink. There is not much to do around the hotel as far as food/drink, so you almost have to catch the bus into town to do anything. THE BEDS ARE HORRIBLE!! I felt like I was sleeping on a table top. No basic toiletries in the bathroom like wash cloths (only got 1 towel), soap, lotion... that are pretty common in most hotels. THERE WERE NO TV CHANNELS IN ENGLISH, AND NO WAY TO PUT ENGLISH SUBTITLES ON THE TVS. I understand it's Mexico and I respect that you need to acclimate when you travel to another country, but they are obviously looking for the US$, so at least give me a sports channel and a movie channel.

La habitacion no es como la ponen en fotos, me dieron habitacion de minusvalidos, no era una regadera normal, del cuarto no se veia la alberca, y la vista al mar no era buena.
Les pedimos cambio de habitacion porque les dijimos que cuando reserve el cuarto venian otras vistas y no trataron de ayudarnos, mala atención

When you arrive all the staff very gentle and polite then try to sell their membership offering you a breakfast but when You rejected the offer and ahow not interest tbey ahow the other face..normal rooms dont have a freezer or microwave then you ask for warm a food you bring from other pmace they deny it saying that tbey cant do anythkng about it so the only option you have ia to eat what their reatauranrt offer so if you have special health needs or taste or if you have little kids want eat soemthing diffetent but u have left overs you must to throw away ..i was very disappointed
I love Mazatlan but this is not an option for me

The hotel has basically nothing to do. There is a bar at the beach/pool and at the restaurant. The staff is super friendly, the food is decent, and the rooms are clean. It is in a nice location (pharmacy next door, convenience store across the street). If you are looking for a basic hotel to stay at, this one would be a good choice. Not too far from the city, nice location on the beach. All rooms gave the ocean, our room on the second floor didn't have a balcony which I found disappointing, the majority of the rooms higher up in the hotel did.

We arrived early but our room was ready which was nice. The hotel needs updating & the rooms don’t have a mini fridge which is convenient especially in hot weather. The pool area was quiet & it was nice that you’re able to go walk a outside to the beach. Not all rooms with ocean view have a balcony which I didn’t like. If I have ocean view I would like to have a balcony to step outside & enjoy the view.

This is an older property. The staff is really great but amenities are limited. The food in the 1 restaurant is good but the menu is limited. Since it's older, the room was kinda dingy. A bench was missing a foot, the shower grout needs to be refreshed and the floor had a room-long crack in it. The bathroom does not easily accommodate more than 1 person at a time. The fabric on the couch and 2 chairs need to be cleaned - really quite stained or dirty. The lone table (glass top) was never cleaned even where my laptop was not covering it. Lastly, you can't convert dollars to pesos at the desk as you can at other hotels in the area. As I said at the top, the staff is great (friendly, attentive, and strives to help) and is the saving grace of the hotel.

Had few problems here. But will return. 1st night we got there, the hot water was not working. 2nd day they turn water off couple hrs. Few days later the power went off for over 8hrs on my wife’s bday from 3p to 11pm. We couldn’t shower & she couldn’t put makeup on with no lights. We lost a day here. All guest were upset. Lastly, I had no room service for 3days after I had requested it which is no big deal but for some it is. Most of these problems were the building problems. Most staff on the other hand were excellent. Especially the check in lady, Elsie which was very nice, sweet,helpful & professional. The hotel itself is very nice. Rooms are clean & look nice. The pool area is the best part here. Very nice area to hangout with a stunning view of the ocean & small island. View from the room was ok since we didn’t get a suite with a balcony & were on the 3rd floor. But from the looks of it, bigger rooms above had great views. I understand that we were unfortunate to have experience problems with the building & things do happen but were fixed. This place is far from Zona Dorada & El Centro. Use Uber. This place is for people who like to stay at the hotel to relax. If you’re looking for restaurants, bars, clubs & entertainment you will have to rent a car or Uber. It’s about 15 to 20 minutes to town. My wife & I like the night life scene so this place didn’t work out for that. We will return with our kids though. Hope this was helpful. VERY nice bottle of wine was given to us

The only good thing about this place is the view of the ocean and the city everything else was unpleasant. When we got there the took forever to get us our room, then we te to our room and it’s dirty. The fridge didn’t work. The restaurant is so overpriced! Ordered a burger and the bun was bigger than the patty. We had to leave early due to an emergency and Expedia has been trying to contact these people but the don’t answer. Management sucks. I would not recommend this place.

I do not personally recommend staying at this property. The staff was super unfriendly. After a long day of travel, checking in was a nightmare. I ended paying an additional fee at arrival. I called Expedia to see if I can pay directly through them because I felt hotel was scamming me. Which I was unable to. Also my bracelet door fob was deactivated almost every and I would have to walk all the way down to get it reactivated. We were also not allowed to have drinks by the pool and the life guard told us we had to leave to the beach. What kind of resort does not allow that? It was just not the service I was expecting.

The room wasn't like the pictures showed, the pictures on the website are from the timeshare rooms. Asked the cleaning crew to change the bed skirt since it was noticeable filthy as well as the fabric on top of the bed for decoration. Overall the room was worn out and outdated.

Nice beach front access and friendly staff. Property needs maintenance, 1of 3 elevators only working. Hot water stopped working on my 2nd to last day there. Apparently there was a leak in another room nearby. Accommodations are very basic, nothing fancy. They try to sell a time share vacationing plan, not impressed at all

Check in was so easy the only big problem was when we get in the room, it was so duty and the toilet was ugly with water running off. I went immediately back to reported that bog issue and unfortunately the lady’s at front desk don’t know how to handle it properly. It take long time to switch me to a different room.
