Mis vacaciones de cumpleaños fueron como si estuviera en un lugar con ambulantes pero los ambulantes fueron el staff muy insistentes de tomar una plática con la agencia de viajes HYATT❌ de verdad pésima calidad de no poder andar libre por los pasillos o ir a comer es real mente agotador y desagradable el tener que lidiar con personas así cuando son vacaciones deberían respetar la decisión de cada persona. No volvería

Pools were huge and well maintained. Daily activities looked like fun. Our swim out room was large and we loved the swim out which we used all day long.
The beach was a bit disappointing but the coastal scenery fantastic.
Breakfast at Castaways was disappointing with eggs Benedict being hard as rocks. They did however have great steaks and excellent service.

The Market cafe had tons of choices and overall was really good. Italian, French and Asian restaurants were all disappointing, bordering on bad. Market cafe is closed for dinner so 3 of the 4 other restaurants did not meet our expectations. For this reason we would not return.

For all the different meals and restaurants we went to something was always missing. They were always out of bacon, guacamole, French fries, French toast, etc. the pool would close at 8pm daily but the swim up bar closed at 6pm. Pool towels were only available from 7-5pm but pool closed at 8pm, which doesn’t make sense. No was willing to help, find a solution or even attempt to get anyone else to help.

Los de la farmacia me hicieron un cargo doble a mi tarjeta y no sé hacían resposables. Tanto la gerente como los empleados nada más se hacían locos. Decidí disfrutar de mis vacaciones mejor en lugar de seguir rogándoles que me dieran una solución. ¡No compren nada en la farmacia y tienda del hotel!

The good: The scenery is breathtaking. The beach is beautiful , safe and you can swim or snorkel all day long. Rooms are spacious.
The bad: the hotel definitely requires more maintenance, some of the pools have the tiles loose and can be dangerous. Very long distances between rooms and beach /restaurants. One of the elevators was suddenly pouring water! Limited food options since that many restaurants were closed or not available. Some staff members were rude. The entertainment was good because dancers were excellent but shows were scarce. The preferred service is not worth it since they treated you without respect , no remarkable perks and it was expensive. There was a group of medical students who invaded areas that were reserved for preferred customer and caused delayed in service. The hotel staff did not do anything about it. The sales people of the share time are bothersome since they are pushing you to hear the 90 min tike share presentation from day 1. In summary, it is an overpriced hotel in a beautiful location that sells as exclusive but had facilities that need improvement with poor food and bad service. I will look for a different place next time.

The first time staying in a Secrets resort and will be my last. Got the preferred club. There is nothing prefer. You have to ask for your prefer choice of alcohol and get authorization from two managers in order to have it at the pool.
The restaurants from the hotel where average and some staff was even rude when asking for food or drinks, it was like asking for a favor.
The silver lining was the staff and restaurant from the palapas. You could see they tried to help but they could only do so much and the spa! Was amazing.
It was like there was a division of the hotel. Pool and palapas amazing and the food and staff from the white building was questionable.
Requested talking to the manager and they where never available.
By check out, was waiting for the front desk to ask how was our stay but not once I was asked.
Honestly, skip it!
I don’t usually write reviews but was never treated so poorly.

We didn’t get the room we paid for. They said it was an “upgrade.” They said our room wasn’t available but most likely the hotel was not full. They’re really strict on wardrobe for dining. We couldn’t eat if my husband had a sleeveless shirt when it’s super hot out. We couldn’t eat at the restaurants inside if he was wearing shorts but yet girls have their bums showing and wearing crocs inside. During check in, they told us we couldn’t make reservations for dining, but when we would go to eat others made reservations. They had a special event that got super packed right away and a lot of people were left without dinner or the show. There wasn’t anywhere else to eat if you were “casually” dressed. The food wasn’t the best. Everything is super far away, this resort is completely secluded.

If you’re looking for an adults only resort, this is fine if you don’t want to explore anything since everything is far. The beer and drinks were watered down. I wouldn’t go back to the resort.

The biggest drawback was the long check in process. Once you’re checked in, you’re followed by a salesperson to get you to purchase their time share. That wasted at least an hour of our time. Each time they see you, there’s another sales person attempting the sale. Major buzz kill.

No recomiendo. Incluso pongo en duda totalmente la categoría de 5 estrellas que le asignaron a este hotel. Desde que llegas no hay ni una atención, únicamente te ofrecen créditos y descuentos si tomas una plática con ellos te dan cupones que no sirven o que limitan su uso. Las instalaciones desde que llegas se ven en completo deterioro, las paredes, la falta de pintura. En casa piso se ven las grietas, en las duchas saliendo de la playa se ve la falta de atención y cuidado. Los restaurantes el peor servicio, con el argumento de ser temporada baja abren 2 de especialidad y mantienen el buffet cerrado. Con decir que el room service es lo único “bueno” con su poca variedad pero la atención es lo único rescatable. Cabe mencionar que sufrimos una intoxicación en su restaurante de mariscos lo cual agravó totalmente la situación, un servicio médico nulo con cargo extra obviamente, y si quieres hacer upgrade te recomiendo no lo hagas, venden la idea de un preferred club que tiene alcohol de etiquetas de lujo pero no vale para nada la pena y no tiene sentido. El servicio de spa es bueno pero para llegar hay que pedir transporte en un carro con los del valet que tienen muy mala actitud y solo quieren hacer todo rápido. En general de las peores experiencias en un hotel todo incluido y con según excelente te categoría

The service was above and beyond! Every single individual here contributes to the liveliness and lives and breathes service! The scheduled events were all very entertaining, and the karaoke and live bands were some of the best experiences that we will remember for a lifetime.

The pool areas were amazing, and the swim up bar was top notch!

Access to the beach and the stretch of land left nothing to be desired.

The rooms were clean, elegant, and a very private view from the balcony.

Some of the reviews we saw pointed out some of the stuff in the lobby’s and rooms are showing signs of wear and tear, but we personally did not encounter anything worth pointing out.

I would greatly recommend this place if you want to create a memory that’ll last a lifetime! Very different from Cancun. More secluded, private, and personal.

Great place to stay! It’s perfect place to get away and not overcrowded. During our stay it was at about 50% capacity, we didn’t have to wait to be seated at available restaurants and we availability for events we wanted to participate was also a non issue. The hotel was beautiful. The days we where there the beach was not the safest to go swim at so we had to
Travel to another bay. Not all restaurants are available everyday so make sure you check availability before planning. Staff was friendly and helpful, but the first two days they were attempting to offer incentives/discounts if we agreed to attend some kind of event. Breakfast option was superb.

He refused to take us to a store of our choosing citing “lack of quality “ at the other stores. The shirt my wife overpaid for was of terrible quality and shoddy workmanship. The service and meals at the restaurants were incredible. Also the entertainment was great and friendly.

However the food served at events was below the quality of the restaurants and meagre at best. The building also clearly lacks maintenance (there are cracks and holes in some walls and rooftops; and our room had water leaking from the shower). Finally, they don’t always update their menus and events (e.g. one day they said they were going to have coconuts at 1pm by the pool but when we approached the staff there they did the supplier hadn’t given them any coconuts for a while)

Disappointing Stay at Secrets Huatulco – Not Up to Expectations

We recently stayed at Secrets Huatulco, and unfortunately, the resort did not live up to the usual standards we expect from Secrets resorts. Although advertised as a luxury destination, this is more of a 3-star experience.

Upon arrival, we were immediately taken aback by the frayed towels and bath mats in our room. Additionally, the swim-up pool had a broken umbrella, and we found open peanuts in the nightstand drawer, which was a little concerning. Even worse, we discovered clumps of hair around the room, which is certainly not the cleanliness one should expect from a \"luxury\" resort.

Room service also left much to be desired. Our orders were consistently wrong, adding to the frustration. The resort also seemed to lack the lively atmosphere that typically defines a vacation destination. Many of the bars close by 9 pm, and the entertainment is over early, which gave the whole place a rather subdued, almost retirement village vibe. We were usually back in our room by 9 or 10 pm, which was quite disappointing for a getaway.

On a positive note, the staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay. The spa was another highlight, though we were initially put off by the high cost. Had we been offered a promotional deal earlier in our stay, we likely would have visited the spa more frequently, but we only took advantage of it on our second-to-last day.

Overall, Secrets Huatulco fell short of our expectations.

This was our first time in Huatulco. We loved the town. We've stayed at multiple Secrets Resorts and have been wanting to visit this one. It wasn't as nice as the others but it was still okay. We kept hearing a loud odd noise all through the day and all throughout the night. It sounded like a type of ceremony or ritual was being held. Come to find out, it was a noise from an ice machine. I'm not sure why the resort would be okay with having something that loud for the guests to hear all day/night. It was extremely annoying while trying to sleep.

The hotel guests would get up early in the morning and claim chairs by the pool and beach. So, if you sleep in, forget about getting a spot by the pool or beach. Also, we would have to wait for beach towels at 7am. We still enjoyed our trip but this resort is not the Secrets quality we've experience from other Secrets.

This resort was very clean and staff were friendly. We enjoyed the variety of restaurants. The food was okay… nothing to write home about. I also was annoyed with the many people trying to get us to “go to breakfast” to sign for the Hyatt deal. Only so many times I can say no before you start getting angry. But overall we enjoyed the stay. The weather was amazing. Nightlife could have more shows but they try to have some activity at night. It was a lovely stay just with some irks.

-Room 2123 was very close to nightly entertainment and very loud between the hours of 8:30pm and 11pm. Also the air conditioner noise was loud as well.
-Drinks were hit or miss. If you got a good bar tender then the drinks were amazing.
-The food at the majority of the restaurants
was average at best. Oceana was the exception along with the desserts from Castaway.
-The beach was beautiful and we loved swimming there, but the sand was very coarse and so hot we got burns on our feet. Take flip flops to wear.
-Many of the activities for the spa were not listed online in detail. When asked if we needed to bring anything for our hydro spa experience we were told no (just a swim suit). Unfortunately, the treatment was outside and we needed sun screen and sun glasses prior to continuing our service for our personal comfort.
-It is very difficult to get a chair at the pool or spa unless you reserve chairs with personal belongings before 8am.
-there was a condom wrapper found under our bed
-no bathroom at beach
-see through shower and bathroom with little privacy in room.

A huge beachfront hotel on a very scenic bay. Fabulous service. Large beautiful pools. With the exception of some of the Mexican food, the food was not good. Below what I have experienced at dozens of other all inclusives over many years throughout Mexico. Also not enough focus on the beach, which is absolutely gorgeous. I know that most people prefer being by the pool but many of us do prefer the beach. It’s a long way down to the beach but the main issue there is the lackluster seating arrangements. The beach is massive. Everyone should be able to have an umbrella and an unobstructed water view. I also noticed that while the pools are very large, virtually all the seats were claimed before 7:30 AM. I know this because I paid more for a private swim out unit which is just back from the pool with a Birds Eye view. I saw the seats filling up early each day. I enjoyed the use of the paddle boards on the beach as did others. Also kayaks and sailboats. I went every day to the gym as I always do. The gym could be bigger but fortunately it wasn’t too crowded. In sum, the location is gorgeous. The service is great. I can’t give the resort an overall higher rating given the quality of the food and the beach set up.

Huatulco beach Bahia de Conejos is a relaxed casual atmosphere ideal for low profile visitors wishing to run away from a busy schedule. We enjoyed the \"Preferred selection on the rooms and the top tier liquor allowance that comes with it. The waiters and bartenders were absolutely amazing! I wish to have a \"Danilo\" at my local neighborhood bar. The only downside was the resort time share sales strategy; we were harassed by two sales agents for two days after we were left alone when we explained we were NOT interested in attending the presentation.

This hotel is at a beautiful location. This is a place where you come to rest. There is no shopping or restaurants close by, you will have to take a taxi to do any of that.
The service is great. I think some areas of the pool need to be maintained better, the tiles are coming off. The mesh of some of the lounge chaises are worn and they seem to be coming apart.
The Oaxacan cuisine restaurant was the best, the rest of the restaurants were OK.
The gym has good equipment with nice views.

They also used a lot of artificial sweeteners in their juices for cocktails. It was hard to find a beach cocktail that didn't have this in it. The hotel could use some updating but it was super clean. The beach was amazing and there was no shortage of palapa!

Stayed here for 4 nights in December and overall I enjoyed my stay here. Having an ocean view room is amazing and the staff are all incredible and friendly. The property needs some real TLC. Peeling paint, lots of loose or missing tiles in the pool and just an overall refresh of this property is needed. Considering this is a 5-star resort, it was a real annoyance that there was a rarely a pool lounger available after 8am. Unless you get up at 6-6:30am to put a towel on a lounger(s) you were just hoping everyday to find one with an umbrella or shade. Equally disappointing was that the loungers would be untouched other than a towel on them for hours. So be prepared to eye up your desired spot when you arrive and then get up real early to claim it! The beach area was nice. Water was warm and the ocean mostly calm everyday. There’s some decent snorkeling near the rocks on east side of the beach. The food at the resort was just okay in my opinion. Again, as a 5-star resort I was expecting much better. I enjoyed Castaways the best as it was down near the water and the atmosphere and service were great. All the other restaurants are near the top floor of the main building and had the feel of being a mall food court with all them packed in side by side with no real atmosphere and anything to really differentiate the different styles. Up there, I ate at Spice and Tamarindo.

Property was excellent, the staff and customer service level here is amazing!! A few things to note:

- The restaurants are great, we loved the Japanese style and French one. I will warn in advance room service, the poolside grill, and buffet are NOT good. My wife got food poisoning from the poolside grill on the last few days of our trip..

- The relaxation factor here is excellent however if you are looking for more of a party/fun vibe this is not the resort for you. The pool is divided into a quiet and loud side, the loud side has a strict policy on certain music played at certain times and all activities are on a very tight schedule.

This was an amazing experience and we have plans to go back, just figured these two are important things to note when considering booking here!

We were excited to try out a Secrets property. We had always enjoyed our Dreams resorts and always believed Secrets would be an upgrade. This resort was average. Things we enjoyed, it was quiet and laid back. Beach was beautiful and swimming was nice. The ocean is a bit of a walk from the chairs a bit of an incline coming back to chairs and a bit difficult so if you have mobility issues and like the beach it might not be for you. There is a beautiful spot to take in the sunrise. Go to the left way down the beach between two signs is a path! Recommend taking in a sunrise! Hotel is clean. Food mediocre. However we highly enjoyed the Italian restaurant Cin Cin, the Oaxaca Mexican buffet night and the Teppanyaki and the wings and chips at Barefoot grill. Service is less than fair. It seems that staffing may be an issue. Most of the bartenders seemed aloof and not even happy to be there. Drinks were meh! Drink Service by the beach was excellent! They come by often and always check in. Overall it was a typical average all inclusive. Not what I was hoping for from a Secrets.

Secrets is located in a beautiful swimming bay. The views are spectacular. Unfortunately, there are not enough amenities for the number of guests they host. There are few bars and the barefoot grill was always full. Breakfast, lunch and dinner lines were typically 30minute wait.

Room was wonderful, very clean and everything you needed. Rain shower and big bubble tub. Fridge being stocked was hit and miss, but bar was close. Lots of bars. Lots of activities. Musical guests were ok. Food was good for the most part. Property was way away from everything in the area. $85 pesos ride to town. Not really convenient to walk anywhere from the resort. Staff was good mostly. Some bar tenders were not nice. Pool water was very warm. Chairs at the pool were often saved and left vacant for hours, even though they tell you not to. Mostly a good place to stay.

There were a few things that stood out and led us to give this place an average rating. Firstly, my wife and I were unaware of the distinction between preferred clients and regular clients. This differentiation meant that certain amenities, such as premium liquor like Don Julio, were only available to preferred clients. At other all-inclusive resorts we've visited, we never encountered restrictions on the types of drinks we could order.

Another disappointing incident involved the room service staff. When restocking our refrigerator with snacks and drinks, I requested Pringles chips but was told they were only for preferred clients. It seemed excessive to make such a distinction over chips.

On a positive note, the dinner staff at the restaurants were quite attentive, and the food was good, though not excellent.

I also wanted to mention that not all the staff were equally friendly. While some were very welcoming, others didn't even say hello. While it doesn't bother me personally if people in general don't greet me, but I believe it's important for the staff to make every guest feel welcome.

The property is nice, it needs some up dating. Customer service was not good at all people at front desk were very unprofessional and with other agencies for timeshare working in the same area was a mess. The hotel does not have ATM machine for customers to use. But they offer you to help you with extra charges on top of other charges. Restaurants food was very bad except the japonés. If everything is included why to change extra money to be at front of the shows they offer? The waiters were horrible and there service was to be standing on the side of the tables that you had to pay extra mean while the people behind those tables had to wait or stand up to get water or utensils because they pretend to be busy. I will not recommend this please as 5 stars because the most 2 1/2 stars hope they really change that because it seems it’s been like this for a while. never saw someone incharge at front desk. We had to check in and out on The other side were gold member do but still was bad to see the front desk employees busy on their cellphones.

The staff could not have been better: happy, fun, and would bend over backwards to make sure you got what you wanted.
Huatulco is also safe and not supper touristy. You can safely explore close by towns with a cheap ($10) cab ride. Would go back 100 times in a row if it was a little easier to fly into.
