The hotel is absolutely gorgeous! It’s clean, the staff are so friendly and kind an always there to assist. My stay was so relaxing! The food and drinks are absolutely amazing! A 1 minute walk to the beach where it’s miles of sand and beach that is uncrowded. 10/10

Two things to note; surprisingly small pool area for how many rooms and the area is very underdeveloped.
Definitely an older crowd vibe. The hotel would benefit by enforcing a bit more etiquette at the pool area around reversing sun beds, the people staying at the resort during our stay hogged the chairs and acted like they owned the place.
The area has no cell reception, no stores, no ATM, only a few restaurants however the beach is epic and not busy whatsoever.
Two things to note; surprisingly small pool area for how many rooms and the area is very underdeveloped.

This hotel is so impeccably designed and the restaurant is 5-star. We loved our room, to the point I was taking pictures to incorporate design elements at home. Bocana Beach is very quiet, but a gorgeous place for a long walk. The hotel restaurant is so good, but there are also a couple of places right on the beach if you want cheap eats or a drink.
2 minutes away is a nice park where you can see some ruins and get a little exercise. We rented a car, so it was easy for us to travel to different beaches and bays, which were beautiful. I highly recommend Organa for something kinda secluded (a 10-minute flat hike out) and La Entrega for families (there are restaurants and seating, plus very very calm water)
We come from NYC, so we are used to noise. If you aren't, then the roosters crowing outside the hotel in the early morning may bother you. It didn't bother us. I'm sure if you sleep with the door closed and the A/C on (we slept with screen door open), then it wouldn't be as loud. Just something to be aware of if you are hyper sensitive to noise.
There is a lot of development happening in the area near the hotel, but we never heard noise that bothered us. But I am sure in 2 years, there will be a lot more travelers going to this area because of the increase in condos, airbnbs, etc.

Very clean rooms with amazing staff. Loved the atmosphere and ambiance of this small intimate hotel. No worries about finding a chair or cabana around the pool. We stayed for 2 wks. The roosters crowing were a definite detriment to a lovely hotel. The Boncana beach was beautiful with hardly a soul around which we loved. Great little family restaurants at the beach to eat at. Take earplugs for the roosters.

Although room description says kitchenette with \"cookware\" , there is no stovetop or ability to cook except for microwave. Nespresso machine is a nice touch but you are supplied with one pod per day per person. We bought cream at the grocery store but restaurant staff obliged when we ran out 😊 They provide beach towels at the front desk for your excursions. Pool is refreshing! It is a small pool area but we didn't ever have trouble getting a lounger. Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Neapolitan chicken Milan esa was a favourite! We had a small earthquake which was a surprise. An info sheet in the rooms might be a good idea to inform guests of emergency procedures. Front desk staff very accommodating and provide information about tours/taxis etc. There is a beautiful lounge area on the third floor and you can catch the beautiful sunrise there if you aren't quite ready for the two minutes walk to the beach. The constant noise of roosters crowing from 4 am until dark is really distracting and interrupts sleep. I was told they have earplugs at the front desk if needed. They provide a glass bottle of drinking water in your room daily. If you drink a lot of water, bring a refillable container as there is a potable water tap in the front lobby area. Casa Bocana is a great place if you are looking to be away from the hustle of a downtown. Be aware that you will need to get a taxi for a significant distance.

The hotel was beautiful and the room was nice! I didn't get to use the pool or lounge on the rooftop but both seemed very peaceful. The staff was very helpful and attentive to my needs, and the restaurant was good too! It's in a quiet pocket of Huatulco but I liked that you could call a taxi and get anywhere pretty quickly. The front desk helps with booking tours to see attractions while you're there. I'd recommend this hotel and stay here again next time I'm in Huatulco.

I understand is a way to make money but it was an inconvenience since I would have loved to make my coffee and enjoy it on the balcony. I asked about it and I was told that only higher up rooms have one and I got the standard room (almost $1K for 4 nights)

Property is very nice. Small boutique hotel with upscale restaurant. It is isolated so if you like more choices in dining and nightlife choose a different location. Looking for a laid back vacation this is it. The only thing that might keep you up is the chickens and dogs.

Hotel staff were great Melina and Rey in particular. Restaurant is overrated and overpriced and service is very slow. Dogs and chickens are noisy all night. It's too far from town (about 25 km) The area is not busy and very safe, if you want to be away from the tourist crowd this is a good area.

Casa Bocana was a wonderful respite after a week in Mexico City. The whole hotel was beautiful and calm. Our bed was super comfortable- I haven’t slept that great in years. We loved the food in the restaurant!

The hotel itself is gorgeous. The staff were friendly from the room cleaning to the front desk. The pool was beautiful with lots of shade areas. The beach nearby was one of the most incredible we saw in the area. It’s primarily used for surfing and fishing, though we swam a lot near the rocks where the surf was calmer. However, it’s because it is next to a protected area near to the river outlet but it was teeming with wildlife. It was such incredible natural beauty!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Bocana. The personnel, service, setting, and accommodations were excellent. Our primary goal for the trip was rest and relaxation and Casa Bocana fit the bill perfectly. The location of the hotel is a bit remote and requires the use of car or taxi to get around, but this is not a problem as you can access La Crucecita (plaza area) for food and shopping in 15 minutes. Waking to the sound of roosters was charming and we watching the sunrise from our balcony was spectacular. A special thank you to Jess, Melina, and Beto for their friendly and attentive service. We hope to return soon!

Nice hotel. We had an overall good experience: rooms are clean and beautifully designed. Breakfast is not included (personally something they should consider for the price). The hotel’s location is not the best in Huatulco but hopefully it will improve in the next years.
The Restaurant is good however a bit pricey.
Only one suggestion: the “pasta rellena” (stuffed pasta) is nicely prepared but they only serve you 3 ravioli… a bit expensive for a 300MXN dish especially considering this is not a tasting menu and they sell it as a main dish. Really not acceptable.

AMAZING! The front desk staff are so knowledgeable and helpful. They will communicate with you and help you with any needs you have. Melina was an amazing help booking tours and activities. The rooms, public spaces, pool were all comfortable and well designed. Service was top - from front desk to restaurant - all friendly, helpful and prompt. We ate most of our meals there and every one was delicious. The location is ideal if you like isolated, peaceful areas. Walking Playa Bocana each morning for sunrise was our favourite. We did the Wahaca Cooking school next door and it was incredible. A very short and cheap cab ride to the centre.

Also the chef in the restaurant is the best and creates masterpieces everyday. I would fly down for the food alone. The owner, the chef, staff are all incredible. Lovely room, spacious and super comfortable however this was my worst night in Mexico due to a dog that kept barking all night long, I barely slept due to that. When I tried to call reception at 3 am to see if something could be done, nobody answered. It is also in the middle of a construction site, works are happening during the daytime (3 buildings were being built a few meters away) The price was way too high for the services provided, and the area itself offers nothing (no shops, no restaurants, no pharmacy). Breakfast is NOT included and is overpriced, directed towards the ex-pats and tourists who stay in the area. No coffee was offered except on the first day, not even in the room. Their restaurant is closed on Monday and there is no good alternative within walking distance; had terrible fish at the dirty place they recommended on the beach. The beach nearby is worth going to for sunset, and stunning views but for the rest of the day, try to walk 25-40 minutes further on the road to enjoy more beautiful ones (Conejos, Punta Arena). I had no car but luckily I stayed only one night if you plan to stay there longer a car is really highly recommended. I found the area itself boring, too new, and not authentic. The area I stayed in earlier for three nights was much better with plenty of excellent restaurants, activities, higher quality hotels at a cheaper price, and stunning beaches (Santa Maria - 20 minutes drive).
