This was our second stay at Beamish, as expected the room was a good size, as we upgraded again. We always enjoy our visits to the North East and you can not fault the staff and the food at breakfast and dinner. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The main reason for our visit was to visit Beamish Open Air Museum again and on this occasion to visit the Light Trail, which is just located at the side of the Hotel. Final note on parking, there are plenty of spaces and EV charge points unfortunately, they are MER points and the cost per KWh was a little on the high side compared to others I used during our tour around.

Hotel contacted us before our stay to check any requests and were kind enough to say even though check in not till 3pm and we needed to be at our wedding for 2:30 said we could leave our luggage and do the check in process and collect key after the wedding, but when we arrived the room was ready so they let us go straight to the room. If we were to return would pay more to have a better room. The bed was comfortable, firm but not too firm, shower was luke warm so possibly running out of hot water at 10:00. Duvet a bit too warm and no other option, but for what we paid this was great. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, quickly arranging us a taxi when Uber let us down. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Would definitely recommend. If you had time Beamish museum is a short walk away.

Bedroom was a really good size with lovely old furniture with plenty of drawer and hanging space - but perhaps it looked as though it could do with more furniture to fill some of the spaces. The only downside was having to go outside to get to the restaurant - probably wouldn't have even thought about it in hot weather but it wasn't ideal in the wind and rain. We stayed while the Christmas Fayre was on which was a bonus.

The sound insulation was very poor and every time anyone flushed their toilet the noise in our room was very loud. You could even hear the guest in the next room urinating and pumping the shower gel dispenser.

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. I have never stayed somewhere where the staff were without exception friendly, helpful, and clearly so proud of their hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we wondered if it has just been refurbished? The gardens and flower arrangements were exceptional, and even the gardeners had time to tell us what they are growing, as well as how the amazing displays are achieved. Worth visiting just for this aspect. Food was fresh and beautifully cooked. Even the board game we used was brand new! Room was smallish but really comfortable, clean and fresh with a lovely bathroom. Cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. Thank you.

Spacious parkland with lots of hanging baskets (the vertical \"Petunium\" was spectacular) and a novel planting scheme in the borders. Excellent room but noisy. The first night was fine but there were weddings on the Saturday and Sunday. The room was directly above reception and the noise from about midnight to about 1:30 was awful. There are no facilities in the hotel apart from the bar and restaurant. At almost £200 a night I felt a bit disappointed about our stay.

An over night stay allowing us to have 2 days at Beamish museum nearby and have a taste of luxury in the apartment. Due to dietary needs we have difficulty finding places for us all to eat. This led us to look for apartments. The Charron apartment looked fab on the internet and was even more of a suprise when we checked in. Check in was friendly and quick, the grounds and hotel were absolutely fabulous. A bit of a walk up a few staircases (lift was being repaired), we were offered help with baggage, but the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children) managed with no issues.

Both days cooked breakfast was cold,it seems odd that you order your cooked breakfast,but it arrived in a few minutes,so it looks like the cooked ingredients are kept warm in the kitchen.Whats the point of ordering when it already precooked and standing under heat,we were given a refund for breakfast but it's not what we want, we rather have a hot fresh cooked breakfast.We had evening meals which were really nice,if you can have hot foood on the evening why not on the morning,the rest of the stay was lovely,but breakfast really spoiled it.

The hotel was set in beautiful grounds As it was Christmas time the gadren were all lit up., also a Christmas fair was on that residents had free access to. Great to pick up Christmas gifts. Hotel was with walking distance of Beamish living museum. Service in the restaurant was very slow especially in bar area where some staff did appear to be standing round talking. However when paying the bill they did apologise for any delays ansd explained they had been exceptionally busy all day and had served over 360 meals that day. Would definitely visit again

Fabulous traditional building in beautiful grounds. We’ve stayed here 4 times this year- it’s our favourite when travelling to visit family. Unfortunately this time we were v disappointed with the wifi ( room 103)- just kept dropping out all the time ( couldn’t use data due to poor reception in the area). We chose to rebook the evening meal for the 3 nights we were there. It would have been the icing on the cake to have either salads and/or chicken as mains. There was chicken as an addition to the curry which we had but a chicken breast as the main main would have been welcome. We’ve not let this affect our scoring as we felt the whole experience was an excellent one.

We found the Beamish Hall to be a very quaint and charming hotel. The location is extremely quiet and peaceful, although perhaps a little hard to find. There is a very ample amount of parking. The rooms and property in general appeared to be well kept and maintained. The Stables bar and restaurant were a pleasure to drink and dine within and the staff friendly and welcoming. Yes, I would recommend this hotel and we shall be staying there again.

The building was beautiful, room super comfy and the food excellent. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The only minor issue we had was accessibility - there is only a very small lift that we could only just fit our pram into. Additionally, as someone who is pumping milk it would have been useful to have a fridge in the room, which I did call ahead and ask about, but there may have been some confusion. The staff were great about storing it for me in their fridge, and there is a 24 hour reception, but it's not ideal to have to go all the way to reception in the middle of the night if your baby needs feeding. We made do with a bucket of ice, and I do appreciate their helpfulness, but something to be aware of if you are in a similar situation!

Found our nights stay after visiting the Beamish museum quite stressful as we were not informed before booking that the hotel was holding a graduation ball. The couple booking in before us were told there was a graduation ball and it could be noisy so I mentioned this when I was booking in only to be told we were a long way from the function room and we would not hear it. It got to 10pm and I could still hear banging music in our room and as I was playing golf early in the morning was hoping for a good nights sleep after complaining twice to reception we finally got moved to a quiet room should not of had to go through all this stress when we could have been put in a quiet room in the first place.

There’s wasn’t a wardrobe in our room. No shower gel or fridge either. We had to request extra toiletries. The TV connection to the internet was poor. The reception was unmanned when I went to request putting my 4 month olds baby food in the fridge. I waited 10 minutes before eventually giving up and allowing the food to go off. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The lift only fitted 2 people and was very noisy and at times the doors wouldn’t opened and seemed jammed. This was very nervy for someone who suffers from claustrophobia. We booked for the firework extravaganza which was cancelled just days before our stay and subsequently we were left with nothing to do. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. We expected the bedroom to be cleaned on our second day of stay but this didn’t happen.
