We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. There are several comfortable seating areas with a restaurant, cafe and roof top bar on site. The location is ideal for walking to the nearby stores, restaurants and bars. We found out from friends after we left that a spa and sauna were also included. We missed out!

Amazing hotel in a superb location. Just book it.

Gorgeous hotel. Walking distance from the train station - less than 2 minutes. Spa on the rooftop was a lovely addition and we enjoyed the hour we spent up there. We also visited the rooftop bar after dinner in the town. Great views over the city. The room was spacious with a bath and a walk in shower. Great place to stay. We would return.

We've stayed here quite a few yearns now for Xmas and it's always been a bit hit and miss. It's not a bad hotel, but it somehow never seems to live up to the 5 stars. Service can be spotty, and the rooms have some very guest unfriendly features. For example, there's a table in every room that can be used to control a lot of the in-room functions, but the hotel also sends notifications to it daily at around 7am. So, unless you want to be woken up at 7am, make sure to drop the tablet into a drawer the night before. I will be booking again, but I really hope they can fix some of these smaller things in the future.

I traveled here back in 2023 and my stay at Haarhuis was quite lovely, albeit smaller rooms than I'm used to, but such is the European/Netherlands way (they all have smaller rooms.) I recently traveled back here (2024) for Qlimax (a music event) and since I had a great experience the last time, I figured I would book at Haarhuis again.

Now, let me say that Haarhuis is a bit pricier, but that's to be expected as this carries itself as a luxury hotel and does a great job at such. The rooms are fantastic and well designed in an upscale luxury manner, the breakfast/restaurant is quaint and nice, the staff are beyond excellent, and the decor is just wonderful. What surprised me most is that I was BLOWN away with my recent room, which I did not think was possible. This time I arrived to get a room on the first floor (123) and was pleasantly surprised to see I not only had a roof deck with 2 pool lounge chairs, but I had a traditional SAUNA that could fit 2-4 people. It was a lovely surprise and worked excellent.

Everytime I come here, they constantly out perform themselves. I can't say enough good things about Haarhuis, especially as it's a short walk across the street to Arnhem Centraal, so getting anywhere from the hotel is extremely easy. If you love sushi, Silk directly across the street is amazing as well, but just make sure you book reservation early on.

Tot Ziens Haarhuis! See you next year!

Double room was tiny. Litrally a foot spare all the way around the bed. Other side had 1 metre spare with tea and coffee.
Fridge was very noisy and was 1 metre from my pillow

I love almost everything about this hotel. It has a beautiful wellness centre, a great gym, a very good restaurant and a really comfortable, funky lobby. It’s in a wonderful location across from the train station and a short stroll to all the shops and restaurants. The staff are great…friendly, helpful and very professional.
Daily room service was not great. Used drinking glasses were never removed, no tissues, bathroom counters not cleaned. Also, lack of storage is a problem. The rooms seem newly renovated but they did not add any shelving or room for toiletries.
However, I would highly recommend this hotel. It’s close to perfect. I will stay there again when i visit family in Arnhem.

I went to Arnhem after visiting Amsterdam, The Hague and Delft. I needed to go there to see the John Frost Bridge (made famous in the 1977 movie, \"A Bridge Too Far\"). I was happy to see this hotel was across from the train station and less than one mile from the bridge. Lots of food choices and shops close by. One of the more unique hotels. Award winning bathroom on the 5th Floor!! Great people, nice rooms and an amazing breakfast. Ask to see the bathroom on the 5th Floor--it's award winning.

This was a really cool property. The rooms are upscale and chic, the hotel has this whole classy feel to it, and even the elevators are uniquely great. The bed and room was extra comfy and upscale, but the only downside is that the rooms are VERY tiny. I had a large suitcase with me and had to put it up on the bed in order to open it. Outside of that, everything was fantastic through and through. This is in a great location, directly next to Arnhem Centraal and across the way from Silk, a fanastic all you can eat Sushi place. Highly suggest considering this property as a place to stay.

Excellent hotel in lovely Dutch city

I ordered a single room, and was very pleasantly surprised by the queen sized bed, supersized TV, and . The TV not only had the standard quite of Dutch / German / English / French programs, but had the capability for my laptop to \"cast\" films and videos from my laptop onto the big screen.

Hotel Haarhuis is right across the street from Arnhem central rail station, and one block down from a transit center that has buses and \"trolleybuses\" (which in parts of the US are called \"trackless trolleys\").

In the same area is the historic area of the city, with many historical sites related to Operation Market Garden in WWII, and much older Dutch historical sites. This is also where one can find dozens of restaurants and stores. The hotel makes an excellent base of operations for exploring Arnhem, a very underrated Dutch city.

Room was spotlessly clean, and the shower water was consistently hot. The clerks at the front desk were always cheerful, kind, and helpful. No problem at all for English speakers.

When I booked the hotel, it seemed like a satisfactory budget hotel with a convenient location. It turned out to be a luxury hotel in every aspect (except cost!)

My only regret was that I did not design my trip to stay longer at the Hotel Haarhuis .

The location was unbeatable--steps from Central Station. Nice restaurant attached. The property is being renovated in some areas but our room was clean, beautiful and well appointed. Luxurious towels, linens, bathrobe, slippers along with well chosen decor made for a peaceful and comfortable stay. Kitchenette was well designed and had everything we needed for a 9 day stay that we extended to 12. The shower was large and beautiful. The large deep bathtub was a treat in the Netherlands! A well designed hotel room with amazing views out over the city. The staff (front desk and housekeeping) was extremely friendly and welcoming but also respectful and responsive to any questions or needs. Wifi excellent. This hotel was able to offer everything one would expect from a higher-end hotel without feeling 'corporate'. Top-rated experience!

Overall it was an amazing stay.
A bit tight for four people with bags in that room, but we managed. If it had a sleeper couch that could easily open and close when needed that would have been better. Two single beds were placed together which made moving around tricky. Fantastic position with fantastic staff.

Good points: staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, very good location (next to the station and the town centre).

Bad points: When I arrived, the mattress needed replacing, there were a couple of large dead bugs stuck to the wall above my bed which housekeeping did not clean, and the air conditioning in my room made a loud clicking noise which meant that I couldn't sleep.

The hotel changed my mattress, cleaned the bugs (once I asked them to), and gave me earplugs for the noise (which didn't make a big difference). The staff tried to help me, but it was quite frustrating to have all of these problems in the first place.

In particular, the housekeeping staff needs to do a more thorough job, as I did not find the rooms very clean.

This was definitely not good enough to be a 4 star hotel, and overall was quite stressful considering all the problems.

Nonetheless it wasn't an awful experience, and as mentioned above, the staff did try their best to help.

Nice property conveniently located in the center of Arnhem, and walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the bus and train stations. Parking available although it is not free. Friendly staff, breakfast is the typical fare and could be improved. I stayed here while touring sites associated with WW2’s Operation Market-Garden, and would recommend it to others doing the same.

Perfect location within walking distance of Arnhem Centraal train station. Walk to city center. Hotel lobby and restaurant were excellent in particular the breakfast buffet. Staff were friendly and hospitable. Suggest upgrading to suite room as my economy room was quite small. That said the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I will stay there again.

Love the Hotel Haarhuis!

My husband and I love, love, love this hotel. We just stayed there for the third time and wouldn't think of staying elsewhere when we visit Arnhem. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the staff is wonderful. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is pretty good and the free breakfast is excellent--don't pass on the bread, you low-carbers. Treat yourself! Location across from the station is great and you can walk or take a bus everywhere you want to go. Taking the bus is EASY. The WiFi is free and excellent. My only caution about the hotel: We had a \"superior\" room, which was great in most respects, except the bathroom had GLASS walls--frosted in places, but still glass. The bathroom was large with a huge tub and a huge shower and a double sink, but if you are sharing the room and are a privacy nut, you might want to avoid this style room. There are other rooms available with a more traditional bathroom. Otherwise, I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I love it!

Perfect for exploring town and close to station. Restaurant also good, for evening as well as breakfast.
Some mould in room let the hotel decor down. Otherwise, excellent and would use again.
Be aware that room service Sunday closing time is NOT what is stated in menu card in the room as the kitchen closes earlier. I went to bed with no supper even though hotel staff offered to order in for me from elsewhere - but the hotel kitchen was closed by 9pm.

We booked this hotel as visiting Burgers Zoo for our son’s birthday and were provided with a zoo-themed room. The room was fantastic and catered for all our needs. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food served for both dinner and breakfast was excellent. To sum, we had an enjoyable visit to Arnhem and this hotel - would definitely recommend to families with young children.

Not your typical US Best Western

Don’t be turned off by the franchise. This BW boasts nice rooms (select premium for just a little more) and a really good restaurant adjacent. The Sweet Arnhem dessert is amaaayyyyyhayhayhayzing! Super close to transit and the old square area with shops and restaurants and historical things. I stayed there for business and was quite surprised at how nice it was.

We were on a battlefield tour of Operation Market Garden and were looking for a hotel within walking distance of the John Frost Bridge. This hotel was perfectly suited for our needs. Other than the round about from heck we had to negotiate to get to the hotel, this hotel was perfect. Great location to access the rest of the old town from. We had a great view of the Njimegen Bridge and the Waal. This was important as we were on a Market Garden tour. Staff was very helpful. Bar and onsite restaurant had great atmosphere.

Great hotel but an needs update

Good hotel, stay most months, wish they would improve the beds. Ikea style, sinlge bases not joined togethr with a soft matress topper. Causes two problems, if you dont move very much it has poor support so gives you back ache, if you do move the bases come apart and you fall down the middle. Hot and humid, no aircon.... Overall good hotel but infrastucture needs an update.

I paid extra to get 2 single beds and yet what I received was a double bed, in a really dirty and old room on a corridor that had construction work taking place in all the rooms opposite and had construction materials outside the door, and all over the corridors, with workmen walking about all the time, on the plastic corridor floor. This was a return trip to Hotel Haarhuis because we loved our first stay there. The staff is friendly and helpful and everyone speaks excellent English. The breakfast is terrific--try the fresh orange juice. The location--across the street from train and bus station--is perfect with lots of stores and restaurants nearby. It's quite easy to get around in Arnhem. The room was not huge, but the size and the bathroom were perfectly fine and comfortable. Free wi-fi too and it worked very well. We plan to return to Arnhem, and I can't imagine staying anywhere but Hotel Haarhuis.

We arrived late evening and needed a place to stay one night, this was a perfect location being right in front of a train station. However, the bed was not very comfortable and part of the breakfast room needs some modernisation as I felt that I was sitting in a canteen. Hence I have given 'good' as its overall score.

A great place to stay. The location was perfect for me--right across the street from the train and bus station and just around the corner there were a variety of restaurants and outdoor cafes. Staff was very friendly and helpful, buffet breakfast was delicious and room was spacious and clean.

Arnhem \"a bridge to far\"

Hotel very close to train station and walking distance to all shops and cafe. Can hire bikes from the train station for 7.50€ a day to see sights, especially getting out of the town and seeing local suburbs just beautiful. Airborne mushed a must see along with the war graves.Check in good and front reception staff pleasant. Buffett breakfast included in our price and was very good value. Disappointed that the room did not have a small fridge.

From Bad to being Great

Upon arrival at the hotel we were told they had no reservation for the three days we had booked on Hotels.com. It was determined Hotels.com had overbooked the property and were still showing rooms on their website that were no longer available. In fact no other hotels in Arnhem were available because of a national soccer match Sunday. Nonetheless the front desk manager, Martine, was extremely helpful in finding us an accommodation in an adjacent town for the first night and then accommodating us back at the property for the remaining two nights. As we were working through the issue, coffee was brought to us, a comfortable area was provided and all the staff were sympathetic. Thanks to Martine an otherwise disastrous situation was averted and we thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay. The hotel is perfectly situated next to the town center, the breakfast was more than adequate and the superior room very comfortable/clean. We would definitely stay there again...thanks Martine!
