Clean room overlooking the beach, hotel it self was comfortable and well maintained, staff very friendly easy check in and out. Restaurants were disappointing, Sports Bar inside lobby had much more limited menu thwn what was shown online, guessing this is because the entire property is closing in a couple of week, bought by some east coast developer. The Beachouse was just,plain dingy with only one person covering the bar and all the tables inside and out, it was apparent the service would be slow because of this so we left, again probably because they are closing and all employees already have their layoff notice. This has been a nice relatively affordable property, but it seems that is about to change if the developer gets their way.

Would def. stay here again but they are closing down on mid-October for renovations. Book this before they convert it into the ritz-carlton and prices will be too high too book.

Great location. Love the beach right there. We had a quiet corner room with partial lake view. We could park right near our room. The pool was situated in the middle of the complex behind the lobby. The lobby was welcoming and they offered us complimentary smores. The receptionist was also very nice and welcoming. Lots of guests checking in Froday night. 2 weddings planned for the weekend. The room is decorated very nice and bright. Good space for family of 4, 2 queen beds. It felt warm and welcoming. It os \" remodeled\" with sub par contractors. Dont expect 5 star quality. It felt semi clean. I noticed gritty sheets possibly from sand and pets. Hair strans on the sheets. Thinking back, I would have asked for the beds to be remade. It was noticeable that animals had stayed there, although you couldnt smell anything. The beds were otherwise very comfortable. I enjoyed the hotel and would try and stay again but would check the sheets first thing. The deck seemed nice to have although slanted and I felt uneasy on it.

I booked this hotel for my parents as they haven’t had a vacation in over 10 years. They’re getting older but still work a lot and barely make ends meet. Unfortunately, my dad collapsed the first night they were there and ended up staying in the hospital and is still in the hospital. They didn’t even get to enjoy the beautiful views or the place.

Upon arrival to the property I found my room door open and with one of the hinges broken off the door. Which means the maid service saw this and left the door broken and open. When I called the front desk to request help all they said was they were fully booked. Thankfully the maintenance crew was very helpful and kind, they were able to fix our door. Overall the room was very simple, but provided a place to sleep non the less. Later that evening I took my children swimming in their pool. They unfortunately did not have any clean towels. When I asked the front desk if we could get some towels I was told “they would be done when they re done”. Needless to say they never put out any towels, we had to run to our room to get the bath towels to use. I also recieved a text that first day stating their restaurant onsite would be closed as well. Overall this was a discount family hotel, but the front staff needs an attitude change or needs to look for new employment where they might be happier. Do not go around a holiday, spend a little more money and enjoy your stay at another hotel.

Beautiful but unfortunate
I’ve stayed here a few times and have really enjoyed my stay. This time is was pretty chaotic. We were there for a tournament and many others were there for the same soccer tournament which I understand was not in their favor. However, there were way too many kids in the pool/spa and even though parents were there unfortunately the hotel needed to manage because they broke it. I also attempted to order food for my daughter and I at the bar and the bar tender never once acknowledged my presence, in fact he only serviced the men at the counter while walked up about 5 minutes after I was standing at the counter. Lastly, Saturday evening they only had one person working the reservation desk so I waited about 15 minutes until he could get to me. We were pretty disappointed and had to walk away from the hotel for business.

We recently stayed at the Beach Retreat Lodge and overall, the experience was just okay. Check-in could have been more welcoming—a smile from the front desk clerk would go a long way.
One of the biggest frustrations was the misleading information we received prior to arrival. The pre-check-in email stated that the resort fee included Wi-Fi, parking, and bike rentals, but when we checked in, the clerk told us that was not correct. This feels misleading to guests and should be addressed.
Another big inconvenience was that the elevator in Building E was out of service, which meant we had to haul two large suitcases up the stairs. Not exactly the kind of start you want to your stay.
The room itself was fine, though the shower water pressure was very low. The exterior of the building is also showing clear signs of wear and is in need of repair.

The pictures of the property and rooms make this place look much nicer than it actually is. The rooms are very tiny and parking was awful! The staff at the desk were very nice and helpful. Sadly the bartender at the tiki bar was awful and not friendly at all. The on sight restaurant was way understaffed some people were waiting for 1 to 2 hours for food. We were very disappointed and it was our anniversary, we ended up walking out. On a positive note the view from our room was nice. And it was peaceful at night. They knew it was our anniversary and i was hoping for a little something special, free cocktail, or appetizer... something. All in all it wasnt horrible and we got a lot of relaxation time. The place just didnt repsent as well in person.

Compared to other hotels, ANYONE can enter this property, there are no wristbands to know who is a visitor or not. I saw lots of drunk, loud and obnoxious people that make me question if they even paid to be there. Not family friendly.
The TV is outdated and carpet reeks of musk. Don’t count on Netflix and wear sandals in the property to avoid fungal infections.
The beach was very limited, there was a weddi by taking place on the left so we couldn’t walk far and behind us was a sad memorial service of some kind telling us to be quiet for respect….on the the right were drunk loud people. The vibe was so confusing and I had no idea how I should feel.
B ut what really got me upset is that when I tried grabbing a chair, a man approached me and told me that it was 25$ to get one!!! I paid over 600$ to stay a night!! I have stayed in cheaper hotels in Tahoe nearby who make it a priority to keep its hosts relaxed and comfortable. This is just pure greed and with this I left more angry than relaxed. Never again!

Loved the beach access! Loved Tiki Bar and pier restaurant. Did not like food at Sidelines. The bed was very uncomfortable, too hard. Loved pet friendly! Pier restaurant has great food and service but the restaurant/pier needs beautification. Peeling paint/mismatched furniture, scary stairs to restaurant (broken concrete). Hopefully new owners have plans to improve some things.

The moment we checked in i was told my King bed reservation was changed to 2 queens without any prior notice. As i was discussing this with the guy behind the counter he got up and left in the middle of our conversation. Overall the stay was ok mainly due to the close proximity to the beach and lake but for the price it wasnt worth it. I would recommend this place as thwre are alot better options in South Lake Tahoe.

The only thing I was concerned about was the s’mores in the Ziploc bags. After people were using them, it seemed like they ended up scattered around, which isn’t great for the environment or for animals that might get into the plastic. Maybe next time something compostable or eco-friendly could be used, especially in the Tahoe area.

The staff was not courteous and helpful. Hotel website doesn't mention that they give parking permit for 1 car per room. My group has 2 cars. The staff didn't accommodate our situation at all and threatened to tow away the other car if parked on property without permit. Absolutely rude girl at the front desk.

The staff was not courteous and helpful. Hotel website doesn't mention that they give parking permit for 1 car per room. My group has 2 cars. The staff didn't accommodate our situation at all and threatened to tow away the other car if parked on property without permit. Absolutely rude girl at the front desk.

I liked it was on the water. I didn’t like that you pay that much to stay and it’s like a frat party and Anyone is allowed on the beach. The beds and pillows were awful I’m legit in pain from sleeping there. The front desk lady was rude to our kids with an attitude. Cleaning people knocked and while my son looked out the peep hole they just opened the door and hit him in the nose. Like who just walks into a room. My shower leaked all over the floor. Needs to be updated for almost $900 for 2 nights. There was also a wedding there on the beach. A lil awkward with sooo many people.

The room smelled to the point took me awhile to fall asleep. Also the bathroom flush was broken, the drawers on the nightstand didn’t stay closed. Very noisy upstairs and had to deal with the drunk neighbor who came back to the room at 3:30 am and decided to have a no nice conversation with her friends. Restaurant at the pier took 1 h and 20 min to serve us ( and the rest of the clients) and they didn’t apologize or give any reason. They at last pay for the drinks. We do not recommended to stay here.

Had an absolutely amazing stay. Check in was quick and easy! We got a partial lake view and unfortunately got there a little later than we wanted so there wasn’t a lot of options left but the front desk rep went over our options and the pros and cons of each, including noise levels explaining about the DJ near the Tiki bar. We were given drink tokens for our welcome drink and s’mores kits right away. I was a little hesitant about staying here as I had read all the bad reviews and was pleasantly surprised when we walked in the room and it smelled fresh and was very clean including towels and sheets. Would have to say if planning on using the beach, get there early it does fill up, especially when there are events. It is on the pricier side but definitely worth it in my opinion. We will definitely be staying here again!

Super cute place with lake views. There was a tiki bar right on the beach which was a great place to socialize and grab a drink. You could rent beach chairs and cabanas from the tiki bar too. The bartender at one of the restaurants was super nice and helpful and the restaurant above the pier had amazing views. They offered smores kits for free every night, which we enjoyed at one of many of fire pits on the property. Additionally the property was really close to a lot of convenient places like Heavenly Gondola, the casinos, the outdoor concert venue, and a 15 min drive from Emerald Bay. I would 10000% stay here again.

Excellent location and nice amenities. Right on a beach so you can walk out in your slippers and enjoy the beauty of Lake Tahoe. Has restaurant where you can get a quick bite and mourning fresh coffee for free. Safeway store is across the street, very convenient.

This property could be AMAZING, however it is heartbreaking how dirty, musty, and out dated everything is. There's a fridge, no microwave. Our 1st room was so dirty we switched to another room after the 1st night. My son got out of the shower and walked to the bed and his feet were completely black on the bottom. The 2nd room wasn't much cleaner and the next 3 nights housekeeping NEVER CAME! We had to go to the front desk to ask for clean towels. Thankfully I travel with an extra roll of toilet paper and box of tissues, bc we needed them! The TV wouldn't turn off, so we had to unplug it. Once plugged in again it never turned back on. Not the biggest deal, but just added to our over all bad experience. Our 1st room was on the 2nd floor and we switched to the 1st floor to have easy access to the \"garden\" area thru the back sliding door. The door was more than difficult to open and close (of course we made sure the lock bar was down before trying to open the door) we ended up having to walk out the front door and around the back of the build for her to go to the bathroom. The air conditioner said 61° running constantly, and never came close to that. Bathroom window, while glazed had no curtain as the 2nd floor room did so we had to keep the window shut so no one could look in the screen. The comforters had blood stains on them, in both rooms! The gentleman at desk(who was leaving to go back to school) was super nice about everything and helpful. S'mores were a highlight.

There was a constant tapping from the air conditioner from the A/C above us dropping water, and the parking was terrible.

If you want to party all day and all night then this is the place to stay. We had booked a partial lake view and our view was the Tiki Bar which blared Music almost the entire day into the evening. People took our chairs off the patio and used them at the tables - we had to ask for them back. On night 2 there was some sort of party that lasted well past 1030 and honestly we were over it. The staff was nonchalant about and said “oh well.”
We attempted to eat at the restaurant one night, because well parking is a nightmare here, and were met with every table dirty, no wait staff only one bartender. We waited 20 min to even be acknowledged and honestly it was dirty so we left and we Walked the 1.5 miles to Stateline. The room was nice and the service staff were great.

I have stayed here before with my sister driving in from another state and having 2 car passes was not an issue. This time we had to get it from Resort Pass and the fee is $80 per day. Thankfully after paying the $80 they granted us a pass for the entire visit so we did not have to pay for another pass. The beach is not private and the toilets are disgusting. Literally overflowing and not maintained. So walking back to your hotel room is the only option unless you pee in the lake. As a result of this, the water at the beach is filthy. Too many people peeing in the water and the usual clear tahoe water is green with nasty algae (honestly looked like poop) floating around. The rooms themselves are clean and practical if going to the beach is your main goal then it is a brief walk away. Our ice bucket was filthy and we had to clean it ourselves. Even though a cover is provided this should not substitute for cleanliness. We booked for 3 guests and only had towels for 2. Little details like this should matter when paying over $500 per night. It is in walking distance to stores and cafes so there are pros and cons. The beach was crowded as the day went on so keep that in mind too if you prefer quiet. Also watch out for staff on Golf Carts. They believe they have the right away.
