We stayed in a superior double and it was very well appointed. Vaulted ceiling as using roof space, quality furniture and comfortable. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and to a very high standard. The breakfast room is delightful and everything is beautiful, well considered and of a high quality. Antiques and curios in abundance.

Wonderful and elegant!

I can’t say enough about this hotel. It was beautiful, elegant, and historic. Every part of it was wonderfully decorated, including the breakfast room which overlooked a garden. The room was spacious and well appointed with many thoughtful touches. The staff was very friendly and thoughtful and helped us with every arrangement necessary. I only wish our stay had been longer.

Beautiful hotel but book room in main building

Weekend trip away to the champagne region, hotel was beautiful but we were in a ground floor room outside. Would have preferred to be in the actual hotel to really feel the experience, also it was quite loud at times above our room which was not great . Would go back but only if the room was inside main building upstairs .
Breakfast was really good (altho not included) and the service was excellent. Location perfect , parking onsite (charged per day) .

Boutique hotel charmingly decorated and appointed in Belle Epoque style. They seemed to have thought of every detail to make the room comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff who seemed truly happy you are staying with them. Nice pool and hot tub. Very conveniently located to Avenue du Champagne where many houses are located offering champagne tasting.

If you're traveling to Champagne France, be sure to stay at La Ville Eugene. The property is conveniently located at the top of Avenue De Champagne and walking distance into town. If you're lucky enough to have good weather, be sure to plan a day relaxing by the pool.

It’s on quite a main road, which was unexpected. It’s a charming place was Eugene Mercier’s house and next door to their caves.

The staff were all friendly and very helpful. We had some train issues that they helped us resolve quickly.
The hotel is beautiful and quiet and would highly recommend.
Breakfast was good in a very pretty setting. Did not use the pool but it looked very nice.
The bar is also very charming!

We checked in late due to car trouble. We were given the worst room, closest to reception. The AC was broken and the patio door did not lock. Neither were fixed during our stay. The property is older than in the photos. The kitchen staff was lovely. However, disappointed that reception gave no concessions due to our issues with the room.

A truly elegant and sophisticated place to stay. The welcome was very warm and efficient. Our room was beautifully appointed and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The only downside was when we asked reception to book us into a restaurant that had been highly recommended to us the young man on duty was not helpful and booked us into another restaurant (which was okay) giving us the reason that the restaurant was fully booked, however when we went into our preferred restaurant after having eaten at the restaurant he had booked we found out that there would have been a table available to us at the time we wanted.
The staff at breakfast time were an absolute delight and cheerfully accommodated our choices

We loved the pool, but the traffic is quite loud so it’s hard to really relax by the pool. Walking distance to everything. We were charged for parking which wasnt ideal. I think we were charged for 2 days of parking although it was really 24 hours ( one day) as we had only booked one night. Staff were very friendly and eager to show us around the property.

The lady at the check in was great, but unfortunately downhill from there. We had a standard room which was larger then expected for EU but the room and decor were very tired. A/C was broken in all the standard rooms we were told so we had a temporary portable one in the room. It was huge and super noisy. The location was not as good as we thought as well as on a busy road and far from town. (It was great for visiting Mercier winery though)

While Villa Eugene was picturesque from the outside, the property itself is not a five star property by any stretch of the imagination. The location is, at least, very nearby many of the famed champagne houses and only a short walk or drive from the little downtown of Epérnay.
The hotel is very understaffed - often nobody was at the front desk or available to answer the phone or for a question by the pool. To that end, we often had to look around the property for someone and we were then chastised for simply wandering around the house or the grounds. The blonde woman (who is apparently the owner) is extremely unfriendly. We were constantly criticized or questioned for simple requests or questions. It’s as if we were inconveniencing her for paying to stay here. Overall, we did not feel welcome - if she was nearby, she watched us as if we were children or as if she expected us to steal something. The rest of the staff is very friendly, but it’s clear they do not enjoy working for/with this woman.
We were also told we cannot drink anything from the outside in the hotel area and must purchase everything from the hotel bar, despite being in Champagne (where the point is to taste and buy at various wineries and champagne houses and then enjoy your purchases). An absurd policy - most hotels have a bar or a shop or room service and they do not ban you from drinking your own drinks.

Nicola the concierge was super helpful. We had a small issue with our A/C the first night, and he took care of it at 11pm, which was supposed to be his time to leave.

In general the whole staff care about their guest having an exceptional experience.

We did not eat on site, so I can not comment on the food.

The staff there were lovely, but the hotel looks very weary and is definitely not the most stylish place we have ever stayed. It’s quite surprising for such a level of bad taste in the Champagne region. The garden area (“parkland”) is definitely over sold and the interior design is frankly quite naff. We treated it as somewhere to sleep, although expensive, rather than a destination in itself. It certainly won’t be appearing on our Instagram!

The location of the hotel is excellent for exploring epernay and Avenue De Champagne. Car parking at the hotel is charged at 15 euros per night, and whilst secure (gated complex) we felt a little cheated by the car parking charge when the room charge was not cheap. The staff were fantastic, very polite and the hotel is a beautiful building but we found the beds to be really uncomfortable, the pillows very hard and the shower was only lukewarm. A 5 star hotel which didn't stand up to 5 star standards.

We were a little dissapointed to get a downstairs room next to the reception desk, but it was nicely equipped.
The reception staff were very helpful.
The hotel is noisy as it’s in the main road, but it is very well placed for the champagne houses and walking down Champagne Avenue.
It would be best to be aware that there are very few restaurants open on a Monday and Tuesday night, so these need to be booked in advance as the hotel does not have a restaurant.

This hotel is at the top end of the Avenue de Champagne. Mercier is right next store and a beautiful place we called home for tasting and snacks across the street calle Elodie. The pool area is quiet and beautiful. They have a charming bar right off of the parking lot. The hotel room is clean with a modern spacious bathroom equipped with Robes and sleepers. Breakfast is very good and you can dine inside their beautiful dinning room or around the pool. Staff is polite and professional. Would stay here again.

It was our first time in the Champagne region and this was a perfect choice. Room 31 was fantastic with a roomy bathroom, bedroom and balcony. The staff really made an effort and champagne on arrival was perfect. The breakfast and setting was outstanding. However, it is not cheap. For the price of the room, I would have expected breakfast and car parking to be included. The location is the real best feature of Villa Eugene. It is perfect to be able to walk to all the tastings and it it not too far to carry bottles back after purchase!!!!

Breakfast service is ridiculous and slow (eg they are hiding the nespresso capsules so it takes ages to get a coffee). And there are hidden cost (parking)

Lovely historic boutique hotel

We loved staying at this hotel. The room was perfect with many comforting amenities in the bathroom. Nice touches with fresh fruit in the room. The location was wonderful. We walked along Avenue de Champagne, had dinner and walked back late in the evening.

The breakfast was one of the most enjoyable experiences. I imagine the room was once a conservatory. The view from the walls of windows was peaceful looking out onto the garden. The food was delicious. I would absolutely stay here again.

Villa was once home of the Mercier family and has been expensively renovated. Our top floor room odd shape, fitted out badly with plastic chairs etc. bed firm to hard, wardrobe door impossible to shut with full hangers, breakfast not special, bar entrance outside but safe off road parking. Very pricey for what you actually get.

We came to Epernay for an important Birthday celebration.
The Hotel is great and is just a 15 minute walk to Moet and the Town Centre.
In Summer this will offer a respite from the crowds, and has a lovely pool and it's own bar.
Our room was lovely and well furnished and the staff great.
It was full at the weekend and just a shade on the pricey side but we did love our stay and wish we had stayed another night

On the face of it, the pictures represent a quality hotel worthy of the room rate. But whilst it is beautifully appointed, it's not exactly a hotel more so a very upmarket B&B with a bar because no dinner is available! The room was disappointing. We booked a King bed but didn't get one. Very small bedroom area and bathroom had no bath. The shower was tiny and we're not large!

Lovely but no easy walk to restaurants

We assumed Epernay was a smallish town with easy access to restaurants, since the hotel does not have one. True, but be aware that the nearest restaurant was a fifteen minute walk away. Although the Villa Eugene is on the edge of town it is on a busy road, so the option to open the windows at night was limited and unfortunately the rooms had to be either all air conditioned or all heated and we are at an on/off weather time of year...so our only option was to have them cut off the heat to our room which also cut off the air supply! Finally, after working for a day the internet failed on our floor. However the staff was as helpful as humanly possible and overall our stay was pleasant.

Nice Hotel in Champagne Region

We arrived to a wonderfully appointed room with a courtyard on the second floor. The bathroom was spacious and we were next to the breakfast area in the mornings. The view was amazing and accessing downtown to shop and experience the local eateries was simple. The concierge also alerted us to the restaurants we would have available as we were there during the end of the year when many businesses close down for a vacation.

Home sweet home...that is what it was!

I will keep it short.
I stayed at the villa for 2 nights and I had an amazing time.
-The staff was very caring and even asking me if I had slept well
-They kindly booked some taxis when I needed it (at no extra cost)
-I stayed in one of the large suite (room 22) which was stunning and quiet
-The mattress and pillows were very comfortable
-The room is fitted with an ipod speaker dock which was great to allow playing my favorite music
-The temperature in the villa (room and main facilities) was surprisingly well managed considering this is not a new building
-The villa is in the same street of all the well known producers of champagne (Moet, Mercier, etc...), very closed (about 10-15mns walk) from them and from the heart of the city.

Love this place, will definately return

This Villa is AMAZING!!
Staff were extremely helpful and so lovely. They have given suggestions on best places to visit and restaurant to eat at.
Comfortable bed, large room, beautiful gardens, great location in Epernay, walking distance to town and Champagne houses along Avenue De Champagne.
We got engaged whilst staying at the Villa and the staff were so happy for us and gave us a glass of Champagne on the house to celebrate.
I would definitely go back to stay on return to Epernay.

Great start to our holiday

Great stay in Hotel Eugene. Staff were
Superb. Couldn't do enough for us. We stayed in a standard room which was pretty spacious and had a huge bathroom. Breakfast was good, although not amazing. Pool area is lovely and the small bar is perfect for a nigh cap.

The hotel is a pleasant 15 minutes walk to the centre of epernay and along the way you pass all the lovely champagne houses so you hardly feel the time pass!

Would stay again if in the area.

A walk away from the avenue of champagne

A planned stop on our route, super location, parking.
The room was very nice that we stayed in, though a bit pricey for what it was in comparison to other 5 star hotels we've. Stayed in.
Breakfast was lovely, and helpfulness of staff, booking restaurants and taxis.
Fantastic place to visit the champagne houses and Epernay itself.

Excellent place to stay and have champagne!

Excellent place to stay in Epernay! Very convenient to the city center just a 10 minute walk past all of the champagne houses. Staff was great and very helpful with making reservations at Muum and Veuve Clicqout at the last minute. In addition, they were able to make reservations for dinner anywhere in the city. If possible, get the deluxe room on the third floor with the private balcony. Highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again on our next trip to the champagne region!

Wonderful experience we enjoyed it very much. They do serve breakfast and have a cozy small bar. You must go into the town center to eat all other meals so a taxi is a must for dinner at night.

Surprisingly charming!

We were very surprised by the cozy and charming atmosphere of the hotel. Since it was my partner's birthday we also received complimentary champagne. The hotel is within walking distance of the major or minor (in my opinion better) champagne houses. Across the street of the hotel you will in fact find the most attractive one, Comtesse Lafond.

Location of hotel was perfect to taste champagne

We wandered down Avenue de Champagne to sample local champagnes first night. We also explored the local area by car the next day. Absolutely beautiful area. Staff were so polite and helpful during our stay. Beautiful building.
