The room was small and had the bare necessities. However, at checking, I was told they charge $20 'amenities type' fee. Having no recourse, I paid. When using the sin & tub, the water had to run for over 20 minutes before there was som warm/hot water. The water fluctuated in temp while using it, so that was less than pleasant.

The parking deal with the next door garage is great! Area is safe and convenient. Besides small elevators (that need to be vacuumed), everything is worth the price. The employees are very nice and very helpful.

Nice hotel, well located near 96th street station. Comfy bed and good AC. Bathroom could have done with a little updating and blackout blinds in the room would be nicer than slat blinds, but otherwise everything was great and good value compared to most other Manhattan hotels! If you need to be on the upper west side this place is solid and reliable, and the staff were nice.

The heater didn't come until 6pm and temp outside all day was 47 degrees in NYC. My room was chilly and I wanted my room warmer before I took a shower. They bought me a room heater to plug in the wall. I thought was very odd and unusual. That's the only issue i had. The room was clean and comfortable bed. The carpet in elevator need cleaning or new elevator flooring.

This is overall a decent place to stay if you’re looking for an affordable hotel with the basic essentials. Nothing was great but nothing was awful. The location is good. The only issue I had was with the wall AC unit not adjusting the temperature. It got so hot! Also, there was a flickering light that was annoying while trying to sleep. It’s an old building, but nothing was abhorrently unsettling.

The room was clean and comfortable. The only disadvantage is that it lacked a fridge. Once in a while we heard sirens in the area. The hotel is closed to a train / subway station, two stations away from Times Square.

Stay itself was fine, staff not so great. My son had a bag of clothes in our room and housekeeping took it. My son has done everything he is supposed to do (contacting them, etc.) with no response. He wants his clothes back and if they are not going to give them back, then he should be compensated for them. I also tried to contact the hotel and no luck. I will dispute this on my credit card, as I don't see any other options.

The carpet floor in my room was so dirty my son’s knees turned black while playing on it. There was a wet spot on front of the bathroom and when I put a towel on it the towel Absorbed a nasty brown liquid. The staff is nice the area is cool but they REALLY don’t clean that well. My son is autistic so when he settled I was forced to stay my time but that was inexcusable for the amount I paid per night. I am extremely unsatisfied and feel like I over paid.

Back in the 70s I lived in the building next door. The building where the Night Hotel is now was an SRO (look it up) back in the day. I noted that a number of rooms seemed to still be SRO housing. The clerk acknowledged that. was so.

Go watch the film \"The Night Porter\" with Dirk Bogarde and Charlotte Rampling to get a feel.

Great little place 10 minutes from Central park, and an easy Subway ride to Times Square! If you want a nice, clean, safe place to hang your hat at night while visiting Manhattan (for a great price), come here! It was so nice to walk into a beautiful old building where the hard wood hadn't been landlord-special'd, and we enjoyed the good eats further down Amsterdam.

The parking is actually a block over, so be prepared to be paused in traffic to unload, or just park and walk your bags over when you check in.

My only note is that our bed was comically loud and squeaky, you could adjust your leg or roll over and the whole thing would creak. My husband and I were on our honeymoon, and we cracked plenty of jokes about it, lol.

When it comes to staying in a hotel in NYC, you look for comfort, easiness of mobility and great price. These three qualities you’ll get them at the Night Hotel Broadway. Beautiful staff, amazing rooms with comfy mattresses and wide bathrooms, great location to visit Upper Manhattan Museums like NY City Museum, El Barrio Museum, Metropolitan Museum, Hispanic Society and Met Cloisters; and Central Park Conservancy Gardens and the Harlem Meer. Everything at a walking distance from the hotel except The Hispanic Society and The Cloisters that you’ll have to take the 1 line from the corner of the hotel. It also offers a gym that operates from 5:30 to 10:30 pm. And you can leave your luggage before and after your check in and out. The area is never busy so you can take a yellow cab without the hassle of midtown.

No hot water in either the sink or shower certainly dampened my stay. There's a cute little entryway but other than that...I called down to the front desk numerous times but was not offered any remedy to the \"no hot water\" situation other than \"you have to let the water run for about 5-10 minutes.\" Well I let the water run in the tub for 30 minutes and not a drop of hot water. As for the sink, when you turned the hot water faucet on absolutely nothing whatsoever came out, not one single drop of water came out. I had to take a quick freezing cold shower to start my day. Certainly not the worst thing in the world however, it should be one of the basics you are able to get when staying at a hotel.

No water, poor customer service....beware. Check the water before you unpack your bags.

This place doesnt have the best reviews but honestly the staff are real humans nice locals the bathroom and bed wss super clean . Its a rustic and old school hotel but for the price and location you cant go wrong . I would book again for sure . One thing i would mention if you book through a 3rd party the price does not include a resort fee per day which you will have to pay at check in . I was told to book through them direct next time .

It was the perfect hotel for an overnight in NYC. As expected for a budget hotel in NYC, the room was small and the building showed its age a bit. But everything was clean, the lighting was good, there were lots of amenities (water, coffee, toiletries), and the location was quiet. I would definitely stay there again.

They offer a discounted price at a nearby parking lot. However, be careful parking directly in front of the hotel to drop off any luggage. We asked the hotel staff at front desk if it was okay to park there for 2 minutes to check in and retrieve the discounted parking and they said it was alright, but we received a $115 parking fine within that time frame it took us to check in.

The rooms were clean, but spartan. No microwave. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. We mentioned we were hungry when we arrived and the check-in person immediately offered us granola bars. No coffee in the mornings, but there are a few coffee shops nearby. The front desk was able to give us recommendations for nearby snacks and pizza. Overall a pleasant stay.

It is in a very convenient location if you're going downtown, about 3 minutes to get to the train station. It's not too fancy. As a native NYorker, ot looks like an apartment complex that they bought.and decided to turn into a hotel. The furniture is definitely vintage. It is also affordable considering the rates of some hotels now.

This is a safe, cost-friendly option for the Upper West Side. We took the Park and Ride from Secaucus to Penn Station and then the 1 train to 96th Street to come out near the entrance. Really easy.

This is a no-frills kind of place. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. Fixtures looked like they were straight out of the Ikea catalog. TV worked fine. We were not in NYC to spend much time at the hotel. Central Park is a hop, skip, and a jump away. Plenty of places to eat and grab a slice. We felt safe the whole time we were there.

Parking is off site and getting the rate requires you to check in with the staff at the hotel first (we decided on the park and ride into the city, anyway, so it was a moot point for us).

Advertised as 3:00 check-in, but we got there after about noon. Our room was not ready, but they did take our bags. We went out and grabbed lunch nearby, came back and we were in our room before 1:00.

We wanted to see the Guggenheim and the Met and they were just opposite us on the other side of Central Park. Enjoyed the walk.

Would definitely stay there again.

Simple room. If you’re staying to see the city at a good price I’d stay. We got the 12th floor, some view but not anything iconic. Next to a Walgreens! Som food places, also the subway which was nice and not far from. They let us keep our bags there after checkout because our flight was at night and we didn’t want to carry them while we still went around the city! Thanks! Would stay again.

Not in a good. Lots of homeless people around not really at the place but in general. People actually live in these apartments(I thought I’d be a apartment style hotel like in Florida). Roaches were found. I did t feel ‘clean. No one helped us with clogged toilet (just paper). Door did not have deadbolt. Dogs would bark. Heard banging on doors at late hours. Music blasting at times. I grew up living in somewhat similar conditions/ environment so I get it, but if you’re staying for a vacation, an event, tournament like we did, it’s not the place to stay.

We didn't attempt to use the wifi, so we can't comment on that... the TV isn't a smart TV, just a few cable channels. The bathroom had some hair in it. Room waa clean otherwise. Definitely outdated, but easy check in and they offered it early (1pm) upon arrival. Great access to an easy transit station. Honestly, better restaurants to choose from than midtown.

Glad to see the Hotel is under new management. I have been staying here for over 20 years and the place looked great again. Had been on a decline for the past few years. Now there is a wonderful staff.
A very convenient location with the express IRT subway around the corner on Broadway.

Unfriendly and rude staff,they seemed annoyed to be there. The carpet in the room was awfully dirty! get rid of it and leave the original wooden floors! Fridge in room looked like a garage sale item old and beat up and directly next to the bed, should be moved to under the desk. Elevator floor super dirty, how long would it take to vacuum such a small space? The handle bar in the elevator was hanging off one side for the 4 days we were there. Lobby fireplace did not work, come on! that would make the whole place so welcoming.
