Amazing location and easily walkable to a whole plethora of activities and attractions. Central Park and 5th Avenue are within strides of leaving the front door.

For an exceptional experience, I recommend taking a Park View room so you wake up to Central Park.

Front of House team were nothing but exemplary answering any questions and check in / out easy. Luggage storage for also of assistance.
Well maintained and clean premises throughout and in own rooms / bathrooms
Highly recommend a stay.

Horribly rude front desk person, not just once but multiple times with her. I wish I knew her name. My secondary reservation somehow was under a man who was there the prior week? She was rude and of no help. The manager was wonderful and sorted it all out.

Stayed a full week in a Panoramic King on the 38th floor for our honeymoon. The Central Park view was the only highlight.
I called ahead as an Expedia Gold VIP Access member to mention our honeymoon. Staff noted it and promised something special. At check-in, nothing. No acknowledgment, no warmth, nothing.
Only 2 of 7 elevators worked the entire trip. Long waits every time to reach the 38th floor.
Every basic amenity felt gated behind the room service hotline to create tipping situations. The room had an empty ice bucket but no ice machine on any floor. Call room service, wait 20 minutes, someone delivers ice and waits for a tip. Same thing when we needed plastic silverware. The lobby bar sent me to the front desk, who sent me to the rooftop restaurant, which was closed. Called room service again, and again someone arrived expecting a tip for handing me a fork.
My complimentary Gold status coffee was another issue. Asked for an iced latte, got a Dixie cup of hot espresso. When I clarified, the worker was rude and dismissive. I never went back.
Doorman never once opened the door for us in seven days.
Stunning location, but the service doesn’t come close to justifying the price. Would not return.

We requested a connecting room prior to arrival when we arrived they said they don’t have any for the type of rooms we booked.I was staying with my daughter which is why we wanted connecting rooms They said I could up grade the rooms for $300 dollars to have connecting rooms I asked to speak to the manager who was as much use a a chocolate fire guard.We ended up with two rooms on the same floor They promised they sort out for our second night but when we came back that evening we did indeed have a connecting room but it it connected to someone else’s room ! To top this off we had snow coming into our room via the corroded window as the roof above the window was leaking and in disrepair.The heater vents in the room were extremely noisy making them unusable for sleeping .
On a positive (obviously not) I did receive an email two days after we checked out to say they would try and get us connecting rooms what a joke. NEVER STAYING HERE AGAIN

Staff was not very friendly. Except the luggage guys, they were cool. The quality of the hotel is that of a motel. Carpets smell old, walls look old, decoration of the rooms was like if a 3 year old decorated it. They only get away with their rating and prices because of the location. I felt like I was cat fished to be honest. Would never stay there again

Location was awesome. Carpet in the room was dated. Everything else acceptable for the pricepoint. Breakfast buffet was overpriced $75 for our stay between xmas and new years, but there were other options. Elevators were not all functioning and for such a large hotel you need all elevators. A couple of times we waited over 15 mins to get down from the 12th flooor (out of 46 Floors)

The staff at The Park Lane make the entire hotel what it is. Of course the location is perfection- being situated between the Ritz and the Plaza with Central Park right across the street. The joy to be found is with the many staff members that make every encounter just a little bit more special and makes up for the cold rooms and faulty HVAC systems. Dinning was great and incredibly fresh with fair prices.

Our wait staff at Calvert's is a magical woman who exudes grace and care. She made my daughter's birthday extra special and ensured that every visit to the resturant was perfect. From Migdalia, Sam and Bady in dining to Paulo and Victor in maintenance to Tony and the entire inform dinning team - everyone was lovely. Kenneth started off our trip with care for our belonging and quickly become a friend. While Zara went over and beyond to ensure she could secure our Christmas Day reservations!

The receptionist was lovely and the room was spacious and with a beautiful view of Central Park; however the room was very dusty and very outdated. We tried to eat breakfast at the Darling, the place was packed and the waiter was in such a terrible mood dropping the plates so loudly, we went to calpvert and although it was quiet the service was so slow. It took ages to be seated and to order. The worst part was the elevators, there were 6 of them but seemed only two were working.

The only real positive is the location—conveniently situated directly across from Central Park.

Cons:
Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The hotel feels dated and is clearly in need of renovation. Service was poor and, at times, outright rude. During check-in, I asked about dining options and was abruptly told to speak with the concierge, who was nowhere to be found. After waiting more than 10 minutes, I gave up and left.

The room offered virtually no storage. This was a double queen room with no dresser and a very small closet that had only four hangers (see photos). Water service was also inconvenient. Guests are given two bottles and expected to refill them, yet there are only three refill stations in a 46-floor hotel. One of those stations was on the rooftop and closed during my stay.

I would not recommend staying here and wish I had known this before booking. For the price, there are far better options available elsewhere.

The room was extremely loud at night. Traffic and emergency vehicles, people and the room heat woke us up on and off all three nights. 5th floor is too low. Views were nice but we didn’t realize how awful the noise would be. Room heater sounded like a train coming through the room whenever it clicked on.

Hotel has a fabulous location, overlooking Central Park. Elevators were a problem. It seemed like only two were working and it took 30 minutes to get in an elevator that wasn’t completely full. Stairs weren’t an option with luggage.

Rooms were clean, but for the price point I would’ve expected better lighting (so dark even when three lights were on), in room coffee machines, toiletries like q-tips, cotton balls, etc. Bathrooms did not have fans so mirrors fogged up immediately. In lobby coffee shop hours were very limited, but there were several local coffee shops nearby.

Staff was very friendly, especially bell staff and concierge. Overall a good stay.

No kerb side assistance. I had luggage and struggled to get through the double door system with my bags while porters simply watched. Nobody attempted to assist with the doors or offered to take my bags. No welcome at reception. Check-in was a scripted unnatural exchange. Receptionist was evasive and not helpful with responses.

My go to hotel in New York, primarily due to the view of Central Park. The rooms are spacious that I have stayed in and the bed is comfy, plus the climate control worked well. The staff were also nice people. Concierge was very nice and booked a table for my friend and I on Thanksgiving at a nearby restaurant. I love coming here as I get a great holiday. I like it so much, I keep coming back. Other people go to tropical beaches, I go to New York!

The heater was broken in the room - it would turn on and off with a large groan about every 20 minutes. Except for the sheets, the rest of the room was disgusting and it was too late by the time I got there for them to have me change rooms. They assured me that they would the next day give me a better room - when I went into that room, the faucet and the shower could not be turned on - the faucet was broken. The rooms are disgusting dirty, and wallpaper is peeling off. There is clear signs of water damage and paint peeling around the sink. It’s really disgusting. It was advertised as a four-star hotel, but if I could give zero stars and still leave a review, it would be a negative number.

Firstly Expedia are wrong, this is a 4 start hotel not 5. I would argue it’s nearer a 2 star hotel. I had to switch rooms as the air con sounded like a helicopter in my room (have videos for Expedia) - I gave up eventually and rammed ear plugs as far as they would go. Also has crisps on the floor on my second room when one entered. A random ‘bing’ every few minutes.

If you want a good night sleep, don’t stay here. Shocking.

Unfortunately, we were placed immediately adjacent to the elevator (which we heard constantly) and only on the 27th out of 46 floors which gave us a view only into the buildings directly across from our room. Not worth the cost! By the time we realized the noise we were hearing was coming from the elevator, we were halfway through our stay and it would have been inconvenient to request another room.

Location was great! Loved that it was right across from Central Park with plenty of great places to walk to! The hotel itself was pretty average for the price you're paying. Honestly, I've had better experiences at cheaper hotels. There is only a very tiny fridge. I have to bring my food with me so was a little disappointed I had to throw some food away. Staff knocked on our door and gave us a warning about smoking but we don't smoke/vape? Said it could have been set off by a hairdryer so that was odd.. Rooms itself were clean. The doors are very heavy and slam pretty loud so we were awoken by others a few times because of this.

Park Lane New York is, quite literally, a poorly maintained budget hotel precariously planted in a high-riser facing Central Park property, and it shows. Old and dusty furniture, dirty and damp carpets, empty soap bottles in the bathroom… every corner whispers neglect.

Specials for our stay was a broken air conditioner replaced by a Walmart tower fan, perched precariously on a short table and powered by a dangerously stretched cable: we nicknamed it Wally (Wally, if you read this, we miss your buzz!). Plus, for the woman of the house we had an ironing board with an iron already plugged in ready for us. My feminist wife felt it like a sarcastic touch from the staff.

For the boldest travelers, the room also offers an array of mysterious stains and bodily-fluid patterns decorating the carpet and bedside furniture — true ornaments of the place.

All of this for the modest price of over $1,000 per night, justified solely by a view of Central Park. That’s what we actually paid for: the view, not the stay in this tourist trap.

Everything described is documented in photos. We arrived late at night and checked out the very next morning.

There were a number of issues that made it not a luxury/5-star experience. No coffee/tea in the room, poor quality bath robes, no bathroom amenities, no ability to request those amenities (like qtips or dental kits etc) no valet connected to the hotel (had to go outside the hotel and pay separately) and room service menu was limited and the restaurants are closed. Overall very inconvenient and not a luxurious experience at all. It should be listed as 4-star.

Room was clean and had basic safe, TV, steam iron, very small refrigerator, and one luggage rack.
