The elevators were nearly unworkable for a portion of our stay. It seemed that only one elevator was working much of the time, and there were hundreds of kids on some sort of a field trip. That really took away from my satisfaction with the hotel.

Needs improvement on property. Missing elevator pad. Our room chair looked like from garage sale (Torn). Lights by bed 1 worked for light but could not plug in phone or devices to charge. Other lamp didn't work at all. Rug on our floor to elevator had tape holding rug down. Should have some kind of map of hotel. Not what I expected for a Sheraton.

Staff was friendly and nice. Just two issues, elevator times were extremely slow at times and crowded due to how long they took. Other issue was cleanliness, when we arrived to our room we found a key card in the couch cushion when we sat down and the dirty windows ruined our view.

I’m certain for the money I could have booked somewhere a bit cleaner, a bit quieter and with a speedier elevator. Weird breakfast set up with a Starbucks that is not a Starbucks. Weird ‘here’s some vouchers for bottles of water’ situation. Comfy beds though.

The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. Great location. My only complaint is they charge a $35 per night resort fee. You can spend the resort fee at the hotel restaurants, but we were away from the hotel most of the time so it was just another cost. I wish they would ditch the fee.

Our room was in a weird corner with no microwave, no fridge. The elevators were terrible, 2 broken and took for even going downstairs in the morning. Ice machine in our floor didn’t work…. Very disappointed

I was hesitant to book here after seeing some negative reviews, but I am SO glad I did! We were checked in after about 30 minutes in line. We were given free drinks from the bar, $40 meal vouchers daily, and also free water bottles! We got in the wrong elevator at first, as there is a system you have to pay attention to that tells you exactly which elevator to go in to. Once we figured it out, it was actually more efficient than a regular elevator would be. If you get confused, dont be afraid to ask! Our room was on the 47th floor, we asked for a higher floor, and it was a decent sized 2 full-sized bed room.

I stayed at the Sheraton in New York and unfortunately the experience wasn’t great. There was a broken socket hanging out of the wall in the room, which didn’t feel safe and should have been fixed before guests arrived. The TV also wasn’t working for over a day, which was frustrating during the stay.

The hotel seemed extremely busy, and it was almost impossible to get through to reception when trying to report the issues. When we did interact with staff, they weren’t particularly helpful or attentive.

One evening we ordered a pizza, but we weren’t able to get it delivered to the room because we couldn’t get through to reception and there didn’t seem to be a clear process for letting delivery drivers up. It ended up being unnecessarily difficult just to receive the order and I never received the food, which was very frustrating.

When checking out, the staff didn’t take the time to explain the charges on the bill. The process felt very rushed, and it seemed like they were just trying to move guests along as quickly as possible rather than making sure everything was clear.

Overall, the hotel felt overcrowded and poorly managed during our stay. For a Sheraton, I expected better maintenance and customer service.

Our stay was marred by the inefficiency of the building elevators. Guests were not adequately trained on how to use the unusual system, some were not running, and at times there was such a large backup we had to wait over 30 minutes to get the elevator. We were on the 44th floor, stairs were not an option. A hotel employee directing people during busy times would have helped immensely.

Location is great. Facility is good. The only thing I would ding the stay for is how hard the room doors slam shut. Late night / early morning when guests are coming and going, the slamming of the doors will wake you up.

Our stay at the Sheraton Times Square was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and it was shockingly below the standards I expect from a Marriott/Sheraton property.

The biggest problem was the complete chaos around the elevators. There were massive lines just to get upstairs, largely due to huge tour groups staying in the hotel. The line for the elevators stretched endlessly, and there was absolutely no organization whatsoever. People were cutting in front of each other constantly, no one was directing traffic, and the elevators were being packed to the point where it felt like they might shut down from being overloaded.

At one point, it took over 45 minutes just to get up to our room. Even worse, when leaving the room, it took another 30 minutes just to get down to the lobby. When an elevator finally arrived going down, people were literally booing because of how long everyone had been waiting. That should tell you everything you need to know about the situation.

Security was completely useless. When we asked about the chaos, a security guard simply said, “This is what happens when large groups stay at the hotel.” That is not an acceptable answer. If management knows this happens, they should have staff or security actively organizing the elevator lines so guests aren’t left fighting their way in.

Management should honestly be ashamed of how poorly this was handled. There was zero attempt to fix the problem while it was happening.

Example:
Elevator - Missing rail, missing panel
Bathroom - Wallpaper starts to peel. No exhaust ventilation for the bathroom. When using the shower, the moisture can go in the crack and can later lead to moisture within the wall and potential mold growth.
Fitness Center - Foam Flooring had a portion removed
Internet Access is not free.

The property was conveniently located close to Times Square. There is a Subway just outside the building where we can hop on/off the train easily after a long day of walking the entire city. I like that is a walking distance to the central park and that was a plus that I didn’t expect. The room that I was in had a view of the Central Park. I just wish there was a microwave to easily heat food after a very long day if we do want to go down and look for a restaurant other than hotel’s. A portable fridge too wouldn’t hurt to have to keep our drinks stay cold. We were just used to these two appliances as a necessity in a hotel as a basic convenience add on.

Great locale, but the room and the hotel are in various stages of disrepair. Duct tape holding down carpets, HVAC didn't work (staff helped a little), sink leaked, no fridge, noisy halls with poor sound-proofing, and the elevators are controlled by a crazy set of panels that may or may not work.

This was a very unfortunate experience. The room was filthy and was definitely not cleaned well from previous guests. The elevators were under construction so the lines were very long getting upstairs - 20 minutes to go up at one point. The staff denied the problem when it was addressed at checkout.

Great location, short walks to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park. It is located above a subway station, so if you choose, you can avoid Uber and Taxi expenses by taking advantage of the free Q70 Metro bus and the E line! Clean, comfortable room. My only complaint is that the outlet plugs in the lamp bases are too loose, so you have to find wall plugs for charging all your devices. This can be pretty inconvenient. Otherwise, this is my favorite hotel to stay at when I’m in NYC!

Perfect location! Close enough to time square yet far enough not to be noisy and over crowded. We didn’t have a shower curtain in our room and didn’t notice until midnight. The staff moved us to a suite for the inconvenience and turned our average stay into a phenomenal experience. Great customer service goes a very long way! This will be my hotel of choice going forward while in New York!

My daughter and I stayed at the Sheraton Times Square for our weekend visit to the city, and I would absolutely stay there again! It was so walkable to everything we wanted to do, and I really appreciated that we were each given an included bottle of water from the hotel gift shop each day. The room was comfortable and clean, and all of the staff were very kind! The hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay, but we did not experience any noise or disruption. I hope to be able to come back to see what changes were made!

Disregard any of the elevator comments. They are working and efficient. The property provided 2 bottles of water per day and you get those at the gift shop but your $35 per day credit doesn’t apply to the shop only the restaurants in the hotel. Property was very centrally located, and staff was very helpful. Rooms were good but beds are standard size so not much room if you were traveling with a family. This was a good option for our family of 4. I would choose this again.

The property has clearly deteriorated compared to previous years.

The hotel feels very outdated, and the room was not clean. It was easy to notice that maintenance is not being kept up to standard. As soon as you walk into the room, our allergies flare up and nose gets congested. The pillows were extremely uncomfortable, and the mattress was in poor condition as well.

No mini fridge in the room, which is a very basic amenity in almost any hotel room.

When you consider the many other dining and hotel options available in the area, it probably makes more sense to explore other properties.

I have used this hotel several times over the past few years, and the decline is obvious. At this point, I do not think I will stay here again, whether for business or with my family

2 double beds room, the beds were tiny. Probably full size. Not ideal for 2 people to share a bed. I expected toiletries for a Marriott/sheraton hotel. No body wash is provided. I forgot my toothbrush and the front desk told me to call housekeeping but the phone in our room didn’t work. The hotel needs updating. House keeping didn’t clean the rooms they would simply make the beds and leave towels. They would leave our dirty glasses and trash. The hotel overall was not bad but I wouldn’t stay again.

The room had obviously not been cleaned when we arrived. There were dirty socks on the floor, hair in the shower, scuff marks on the bedding, etc. When we emailed customer service we got a response that was clearly written by AI. It said cleaning stuff would be coming to check it in the morning. Cleaning staff didn’t come at all during our 3 day stay.

I booked two rooms for my family, and our stay was a complete nightmare. We changed rooms more than three times, and every single one was dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained. We dealt with holes in the walls, dirty showers with hair in the drain, stained curtains, broken TVs, deteriorating ceilings, and even someone else’s personal belongings left behind.

The hotel does a poor job maintaining cleanliness, upkeep, and controlling the environment on the property. Large groups of unsupervised teenagers were running through the halls, screaming late at night, and crowding the lobby and elevators. One night there was a girl sobbing loudly outside our room, and on another night kids were yelling that they didn’t care if people were trying to sleep. The elevators were dirty, overcrowded, and felt unsafe.

Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. I wouldn’t stay here again even if it were free.

This review is regarding the hotel rooms, the disrespectful teenagers among other things.
THIS paticular Sheraton is the worst! Checkin in I was told that I would be called when a room is ready for me because I had asked if it was possible to check in early. The second front desk agent told me she would call me when my room is ready, because there are no rooms available for early checkin which I understood. An hour goes by and I see folks that arrived way after I did, getting keys to there room from the same agent that stated she would call me.
I walk up to the counter and spoke to a third front desk agent and told her this other agent told me she will call me when my room is ready but she never did. Yet I see her giving keys to folks that arrived to the hotel after I did. When I finally receive a room key to
Room 2920: Very dirty, cob-webs in the upper corner of the ceiling, wallpaper is stained, tub has black mold around the rim, bottom of tub is dirty, bathroom mirror is cracked at the base, the phone is full of dust and dirt. I can go on. I spoke to Michelle the 4th front desk agent, who was so helpful and understand that she switched me to a new room 4838. This room was a little better except the make shift tray is stained with food, there is faded red stains on the bathroom wall. The TV was not working in both rooms, but Michelle took the time to have the TV in both rooms fixed. Also, the shower can be cleaner. The furniture is beyond outdated, chipped, etc.
