Everything was excellent except two things. We stayed on the 8th floor, and the elevator was so full on the way down. Every time it stopped to get us there was no room. After 4 attempts at this we just had to take the stairs down. So my advice is get a high floor. Also to use the electric in the room you have to plug in your room key right on the wall once you walk in. The front desk lady didn’t tell us this. Took a while to figure out.

Took a minute to figure out how to turn on the lights in the room- would have been nice if the front desk staff had told me upon check-in. Also our room had 2 queen beds but they were pushed together to make one big bed so that kind of defeated the purpose- the room wasn’t really big enough to separate the beds and the end tables were built in anyway.
The mattress and pillows were too soft for us, but I recognize some people prefer soft over firm.

Loved this hotel! It was right around the corner from Time Square and a few blocks from the theater where our show was. We didn't realize it, but we were just about one block from the diamond district and we'd always wanted to see that. Centrally located to be to 5th ave etc within minutes, too. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. They let us check in early and always great to be able to check luggage at the bell services. I highly recommend!

Our stay was wonderful. The hotel’s location is truly spectacular, close to everything and perfect for exploring the city. Our room was very comfortable and spotless. I especially want to highlight the staff who helped with our luggage; they were incredibly attentive and genuinely charming. Excellent value for the price. We will definitely be coming back.

I stayed at RIU Plaza New York Times Square with my family and there were many things the hotel did very well.

The room was very clean and the breakfast was excellent. The breakfast staff were polite and did a great job. I also loved how the beds were tied together. For a dad, mom, a 12 year old, and a 7 year old, that setup worked far better than two separate beds. The under bed storage was genius and the USB charging ports everywhere were a huge improvement over the place we stayed in upstate New York.

Now the problems.

I hate the silhouette bathroom door. I am traveling with kids and do not want bathroom outlines visible through the door. A solid sliding door would be much better.

The fire alarm blinked bright green all night. If there is one reason not to stay here, it is that light. I called the desk and maintenance came to room 4702. The worker had a Russian accent which should help identify him for management. He looked at the alarm and said the green light blinks so you know it is working and rudely said,”Wear sleep mask.” That interaction along with the terrible sleep removed 3 stars.

The other issue was noise all night. Bump, tap, bonk sounds nonstop for two nights. My guess is the elevators running all night in Times Square. Also, hallway doors slam loudly and the toilet splashes water when it flushes.

Great breakfast and cleanliness, but the blinking alarm and noise really need attention.

Was there for four days the air condition broke and they would not fix the issue. They sent up staff to see if they could help the room got up to 80 degrees. It was a miserable sleep environment.

Great location. Clean room. Nice buffet-style breakfast. But...The AC in the hotel was not working one night. Once it was fixed, as it turned out, my room's AC did not work either. I called the front desk twice and went to the front desk twice over the course of 48 hours before engineering was sent to check the room's AC. Then the tech showed up unannounced at 8am before my family was ready to let him in. Poor customer service ruined an otherwise nice stay.

Great location. No concierge. No phone for Bell captains. Have to see them in person. Breakfast is like herding cattle. It’s good but quite a process to get to a table. You can’t beat the location but I felt crowded the whole time I stayed there. At the elevators, in the lobby etc

An extremely loud audible sound lasted for hours on the first night of my stay disturbing my sleep. It sounded like it was coming from the phone. The check in person did not explain fully that the room key operates the lights, tv and outlets. This was an inconvenience. Overall I liked the hotel and location but I wish the communication was better and that I didn’t experience the sleep disturbances.

Excellent location & staff very helpful. Only drawback was elevators. Early mornings there was only 1 operating in mornings from 6-10:00am. They used other 2 to transport people to 5th floor.(restaurant location.). Had to walk down 12 flights to make my breakfast reservation. Couldn’t get on the one elevator that was available.

Good location just off Times Square with a parking garage next door. A large, quiet room with a mini fridge. My only gripe would be the decision to put a glass door on the bathroom. Impossible for your partner to visit the bathroom in the middle of the night without going noticed.

Superb location only a half block from Times Square. Lots of good food avaiable nearby. Walking distance to theaters, 30 Rock, the MOMA, and the square. Really efficient room layouts. All new, in great condition. Staff were amazing, really cared. The breakfast buffet is a great add on.

Overall, our visit was great. However, the elevator service was extremely poor. We were never able to ride together since there was not room for our small party (4). Allways too full.!. Checking out was impossible, thankfully bellman transferred the bags, and us too, in the freight elevator. We would return if we could resolve the elevator issue.

This is in the perfect Time Square location, the best part is it is Next to Central Perk Coffee Shop. Overall our check in/out process was a breeze. We were allowed to check in early for a small fee. The room was spacious and we had a great city view.

My room had the perfect amount of space, was equipped with all of the essentials and was very clean; they even provided complimentary water and coffee in the room which was nice. Issues with WiFi and tv was an issue the whole weekend stay as well as a whole lot of hidden fees including having to pay for “amenities “ as if the $800 booking fee doesn’t include it
No microwave or gym overall main issue was WiFi and a whole lot of fees that they don’t tell you about until after the fact !

The rooms were very clean , the staff were very polite and respectful . The cleaning crew were amazing. I was running very hot and I appreciate that the air conditioning was functional and it went down to 50F to help me stay cool first two nights. I deducted a stay because we found it kind of hard to order food online from the hotel site and the app wasn’t easy to register our stay , earn points or order stuff.
Check-in was okay. The hotel kind of went cheap on pillows though . They were almost flat pillows when we arrived and sleeping with them wasn’t the best for my shoulders and neck .

This was a great hotel, the room was a decent size. Very clean. We received fresh towels and clean sheets every day. The price was very affordable for a 3 night stay. Right outside of Times Square, many restaurants accessible and shopping stores. I definitely stay here again.

This hotel was amazing! A great location/beautiful interior/excellent breakfast buffet, but the staff was the best hands down. Every single person who worked there went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic and they were honestly the most friendly people I have ever encountered in my travels. If I could give this review more than 5 stars, I would. Highly recommended!!
