The standard double room at Ibis Budget Lancy in Geneva, is spacious and has a really comfortable bed. The toilet is placed in a cubicle next to the entrance door and separate from the shower. Gel, towels, and a bathroom mat are provided. Nothing fancy, in other words, but well worth the price. You also have trams and buses on your doorstep and are given a free travel pass for each day of your stay. This means you are 10 minutes from the High Street and 15 from the station. There is also a direct bus to the airport which takes you there in 20. The staff are welcoming and the bar downstairs pleasant.

Ibis is great for a bare bones basic stay. It’s very convenient to the bus stop (23) for direct access to the airport as well as Tram 14 for a 25 min ride to downtown (Gare Cornavin). The area itself is quiet, not much nearby so you’d need to go downtown for sightseeing/restaurants, which is fine. Room is comfortable, surprisingly cool during the hot summer days even, but is completely sparse, no water kettle, fridge or hair dryer (you’d need to ask reception to borrow). Was comfortable for a budget stay despite no amenities. Staff was professional.

This is basically a step above a hostel, and you can get a private bathroom. It's not a hotel room, per se, as the toilet is separate from the shower, which is more like something you'd see in an RV rather than a room. It was fairly clean, but we'd been staying at much nicer rooms and this was our last stop of the trip. It was very crowded even for just two people, but we slept fine, and it was the best price for what we got.

Clean Budget Hotel

This is a budget dorm-like hotel with bare bones rooms and accommodations. The toilet, sink, and shower are made of prefabricated fiberglass that could be used in a boat or recreational vehicle. The room does not have air conditioning, ventilation, or the ability to open a window.

I found the hotel staff to be very helpful, hospitality, and accommodating.

Firstly, I would like to start my review by saying Ibis Budget is different from other Ibis hotels you may have stayed at. My fiancé and I always stay at Ibis and I am pleased to say that we found our stay very enjoyable! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If you would like a nice quiet area to stay in, and don’t mind the 50 minute walk or short drive to the city centre this is the place for you. The hotel is definitely value for money and provides excellent, clean and cheap accommodation for those who are looking at travelling on a budget.

The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and I would especially like to give a special mention to Camelia at reception who went above and beyond to help us gain a better understanding of the motorway and national road system in Switzerland and France to allow us to plan our days out accordingly. Camelia should be commanded for her friendly and genuine approach and I would highly recommend her for an employee of the month scheme if you have one in place for your staff.

Parking: if you are driving you do not need to pay for parking as you can park for free in the street (anywhere with a blue line) between 19:00 and 08:00. Parking is also free on Sundays. (This is what we did and it worked well for us) - but of course you are welcome to take whichever option is convenient for you.

Only thing I would say that you need Swiss adapters for plugs as no multi-area plugs available and different from European adapters I was carrying. USB plugs would have been handy.
However, excellent staff charged things up for me with no problem, so minor inconvenience in the end

Comfortable environment, the staff were very helpful and friendly, location was convenient as you could get to most places easily with the transport links just outside the door. There is no heating in rooms but it does get a bit stuffy in there at night anyways, but overall it was a very good stay.

My husband and I were visiting our granddaughter in Geneva for 11 days and needed an economical place to stay. She recommended the Ibis Budget in Petit Lancy. The price was so good that we figured we would be giving up some comfort and amenities, which was not the case at all. We loved our little hotel! The room was small by American standards, but fairly typical for Europe, so we didn’t spend much time in the room unless we were sleeping. However, the bar and common area proved to be a great place to relax and have a drink or a late-night bite to eat after a full day of sight-seeing. The hotel managers and bar staff made us feel like we were coming home to relax after a long, tiring day. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! (Special thanks to the member of the housekeeping staff who showed us how to open the window so we could enjoy the breeze outside.) If we visit Geneva again I will definitely return to our Swiss home away from home!

I've stayed in this hotel before and it' okay for a couple of nights stayover. However on this occasion the bar area was closed for renovation so only the vending machines were available in the evening I arrived. However the hot drinks machine was out of order and no drinks facilities in room. Other than that it is what you may expect from Ibis budget - clean rooms and efficient staff.

Convenient location - budget price, does the job

We needed one night in Geneva before heading out to the Alps and needed a clean place for 1 night only. It was clean,quiet and a bit cramped (but we knew that). They give you a free city pass on check on so you can jump on the tram right outside for free and you're in the city centre in 15 minutes. Safe parking underground too and not too pricey 20 euros for 24 hours (this is Geneva). Breakfast was ok too and in a light airy room.

The hotel is located near to a friend's home. So is convenient. A brilliant touch is the complementary transport ticket given to each person for the duration of their stay. This allows full access to buses, trams and some of the cross lake ferries. There are bus and tram stops near the hotel entrance so you can get anywhere reliably and in good time.
The rooms are basic, but warm and comfortable. Spotless, without smells. A good selection of British TV Channels are available and free fast broadband.
When compared to nearby eating places, the breakfast deals here represent good value.
We found all the staff friendly and helpful.

Great Memories in Ibis Budget in Geneva

Ibis Budget is one of the amazing places to stay in Geneva. The Location is about 25 minutes from the main city by bus and less than 15 mins by Metro but transport is so efficient and enjoyable. The most important is the staffs welcoming and friendly you will be missing leaving the hotel. Very good people working there to make you feel like in your own home.

The hotel is quite reasonable for the price you pay and the Swiss standarts. We arrived around noun and our room was ready. We received the free public transport card which was very nice as it helped us go all around Switzerland and even walk across the border to France.
The staff was very welcoming, always helpful, always had suggestions as of what to do and where to go.
The room was clean, has separate bathroom and toilet - quite handy.
It is true that all the windows are missing their handle but all you need to do is ask the receptionist to give you one and then you will be able to open your window. It gets quite hot in the room so we ended up sleeping with the window open (November 2017! :D)
The hotel is very close to bus and tram stops. The bus stop for the airport is right in front of it and it takes about 20 minutes. Also, very close proximity to Aldi, Lidl and some local shops.
Tram N14 will take you to the city centre and from there you can get connections to anywhere in the city really.

Only thing I can add is that the breakfast to me is a bit overpriced as it was 11CHF per person and there wasn't a big choice. I understand it is a budget hotel and there will be limited of everything but for 11CHF you could at least add eggs or croissants.
Not sure if it was the fact that we had breakfast an hour before it shuts and everything was eaten or.. ?

The place could of been fine. It's not very close to the airport but once there it's easy to get downtown.
However, the biggest disapointment was the cleanliness of the room. The toilette still smeled of urine when we got there and I was bitten by bed bugs. I won't be returning.

It is a budget hotel, but not that different from other Swiss hotels. The location is convenient if you have a rental car. The room is new and updated. It has a twin bed and a bunker bed, enough for three people. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. There are parking space outside the hotel which is free during the night. We didn't take breakfast due to an early flight. It costs 11SF per person, pretty reasonable. Overall very good experience. Compared with other older hotels in downtown / train station area, I would rather stay in this hotel if location is not a factor. Plus it has much better value for money.

We booked this hotel thinking it was Ibis but turns out this is the Budget version. The room was very small hardly a place to turn. Toilet and shower also tiny and shower is part of the room with only glass separation.

The staff was quite helpful and the room was ok clean. But had we paid the door price this would have been a huge disappointment. Our price to quality was what made it acceptable.

If you park outside in public parking area it's free from 7pm to 8 am but spots fill up quick.

Stay at Ibis next door.

In average the hotel is okay, customer service was impecable but the room we got was way too uncomfortable, without ventilation and was impossible to breathe. We needed to open our room door and leave it like that, I think when specific weather conditions or seasonal period hit a place like a Hotel, certain actions must be taken in order to give a fair service for the price asked.

This hotel is very basic,they have 2 hotels at same location one is budget. Hotel is spotless clean with free wifi and they provide you transport pass which is really useful.The most painful part is we booked this hotel after seeing the Air conditioning available on hotels.com but when we checked in it was with out AC. We complain and they jus gave us a window handle to open it :) Now today i will be checking in similar hotel in Zurich from IBIS and worried about AC and my overall stay. I will never use this hotel.

** La douche est directement dans la chambre, porte vitrée (sans espace de déshabillage) comme je voyagais avec mon fils adulte,nous allions au salon lobby attendant la douche de un et l'autre. Pour un couple pas de soucie!
Pas de clim!!!! Extrêmement chaud, on nous a preté 2 ventilateurs et fenêtres ouvertes ça pouvait aller car début juin pas trop chaud.
Pas de séchoir à cheveux dans la chambre , faut demander!
Tout est très propre,. Bon lits, bonne literie.
Le petit déjeuner très dispendieux, 16FH (16 franc suisse/ personne).
Il y a tout près un petit café viennoiseries à 2minutes où on peut déjeuner à 3 pour 17CH, ainsi qu' un petit marché d'alimentation sandwich etc.
Très très bien situé pour le Tram juste en face direction centre ville

Même si l’hotel n’est pas situé au centre-ville, il est à quelques minutes par voie de tramway. Le trajet en tramway se fait facilement de l’hôtel au centre-ville de Genève. Et en plus, il ne coûte rien pour les clients séjournant à l’hôtel.

Além de não ter ar condicionado e entregarem apenas um cartão de acesso ao quarto.
Passamos pouco tempo, então me serviu naquela circustância, mas não reservaria novamente.
