Decent location to access central London sites. Good access to the underground. The foyer/bar are pleasant, staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice enough, with hot and cold items- nothing fancy, but does the job. The rooms felt pretty basic, with three pillows between two of us, a hair dryer that didn't work, and a bathroom that hadn't been very thoroughly cleaned. Overall though, perfectly adequate.for.a quick stay where you aren't expecting to spend much time in the room.

We were given an accessible room - which we hadn't requested. This meant the soundproofing was poor due to a connecting doir with the neighbouring room. The guests in this room made a lot of noise - shouting and banging- from 11.00pm onwards. At 12. 15 am we contacted reception. They were very supportive and said they would check things for us - and get back to us in the morning. This never happened and luckily the shouting stopped around 12.30am. However, we were woken by the same guests at 5am and 7am - due to slamming doors and banging. We have used Ibis Hotels numerous times but this was an exceptionally bad experience which ruined our weekend trip. Had a lone female guest been in the room we used, we feel they would have felt genuinely worried. In addition to these issues, the accessible room itself was very unwelcoming and felt more like a changing room. We will not be using Ibis Blackfriars again when we travel to London.

The hotel itself was very clean and the staff was friendly. However, the bathroom had a very strong smell as if the plumbing was not working correctly. The housekeeping came daily and straightened the room, but would not take any used food containers even when a note was left asking them to remove the containers. The breakfast was very good, even though there was not any variety from day to day.

I've stayed in quite a few hotels over the years and the one thing the lets most of them down is breakfast, including other Ibis hotels. This one was great, bacon, mushrooms, scrambled eggs were all cooked just right. Plenty selection of other things too. The downside was that our bedroom had a very small window the opened to a view of a wall about 3feet away. Luckily we didnt book the room for a scenic view

The bathroom looked like a pod that was installed into the room. I felt like I was using a port-a-potty. You can see where things were starting to rust because of the material the pod is made from. I was pleasantly surprised by ibis London Blackfriars. The location was perfect for South Bank Centre, just 10 minutes walk away. The bar/restaurant on the ground floor offered excellent value for money, although a few more options for the set menus would have been good. The rooms were basic but perfectly adequate for one night’s stay. The air-con and WiFi worked well, and there were USB ports (both A and C types) at the sockets, etc. Unfortunately the TV didn’t work, and there was just one bath towel per person (no face towels).

Solid stay for a solo, female traveler. Very safe and central to public transit, food, attractions, convenience stores and late night entertainment.

TV was a little wonky and sometimes would disconnect from wifi or your device if you were casting. Management did offer to move me to another room but it was a few days into my trip and not a huge priority at that point.

We stayed at this hotel for two days after visiting family outside of London. The design of the room was different. We felt we were either on cruise ship or a space ship. The bathroom was a pod that looked like it had been just dropped in the middle of the room. The shower doors didn't extend to the floor so water leaked all over the floor. There was also no floor mat. The beds weren't very comfortable. The mattress was a thick foam with a mattress topper. They reminded me of cots. There was a nice table provided and coffee/tea station with a kettle. The room was spacious for a London hotel and the location was great. We recommend going to Mary and Me coffee shop down the road.

The bathroom floor is about 8 inches higher than the room's floor. In the middle of the night in the dark it is far too easy to forget that you have a step down when you exit the bathroom. I could easily have fallen and won't stay there again. It's a pity because everything else was good.

Close to the Waterloo Station, The Tate, great location. Pretty affordable for a London hotel with a good location. Breakfast buffet was big, with lineups in the morning. Not a fan of their scrambled eggs. I believe they are powdered and rehydrated, with an odd texture

The property itself was great. The breakfast was an additional cost and not very good, so I'd recommend to anyone staying to walk to a local coffee shop for breakfast.
We had a fire drill at 11pm our first night there. Certainly a pain if you are in the middle of a shower, sleeping, or anything else.

Loud drain noises

Very loud noises coming from drains/pipes in the room on second floor - assumed it was caused by vacuum when others flushed toilet. Informed desk but was basically told there's nothing they can do and they would 'inform maintenance'. Unpleasant, loud and difficult to sleep

Otherwise offers a standard basic hotel offering in London at £150 a night

Basic but good for short stay

Basic hotel but clean and modern, fine for a short stay. Quiet location and very close to Jubilee line. Only quibble was a slightly leaky toilet which made the wetroom a bit smelly by the following morning.

We will be back!

We were only in London for the night, but when we return, we will stay here. The hotel is perfectly situated for everything, the train, major sights, etc. we loved everything about our brief stay.

The towel in the bathroom had red stains on it. The room was very rundown and had peelings from the paintwork. There was someone else’s hairs on the towels that stuck to me

Great staff, breakfast, room, and location.

The rooms had been recently redone very nicely. The bed was very comfortable, the chair comfortable, and the room was well laid out, so there was plenty of room.
The room cleaning staff was excellent. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and very helpful.
The breakfast was sumptuous. There was something for everybody. So worthwhile!
The location is fantastic, very close to Tate Modern. I was totally pleased with my stay there.

Base yourself in what was our very first London hostel, St Christopher's The Inn. Here you'll find the best of both worlds: while our hostel is modern with new bath and bedrooms, we stay true to our heritage with a lively 16th century English pub located downstairs.

Come and enjoy your morning breakfast in amongst the charm of The Inn followed by some drinks whilst enjoying the tradition of it all with live music and bands! Reception is open from 8am-Midnight, it's essential to contact us in advance if you arrive late.

We have a 7 day maximum stay policy. We can't accommodate guests under the age of 18.
