Room was quite small for the price, the rest of the hotel was nice. The bar was stunning too. Dinner was over priced. Breakfast was better, it was too rushed and overcrowded though and ended up waiting for ages to be served.

A very warm friendly welcome from Jenny on reception! A really lovely spacious family room, we couldnt fault it at all (they have thought of everything!) It had a huge bed with the most comfy pillows, tea and coffee, complimentary water and biscuits, and plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. Lovely clean bathroom with the best fluffy towels! Jenny even went out of her way to find us a small fridge for our babies milk, and the travel cot was already set up with clean linen. The grounds were lovely, with lovely walks for the dog. And the full english breakfast was fantastic! The pool was nice and quiet. We couldnt find anything wrong with our stay!

Lovely staff, in reception and in bar and restaurant, garden salad was delicious, food generally was good. Great bar, so many different gins, but enjoyed the wines too. Room was the cheapest and so was small, but was comfortable and was out in the Piggery, a short step from the hotel itself.

Arrived in the room which stank. Moved the rug from the floor to find an iron mark on the carpet. No ventilation into the bathroom which on a hot day was a smell of damp.
Sofa bed mattress was vile stains all over it. Not very appealing.
The rooms from the back of the property made it look something out of an American motel.
Breakfast and dinner was nice with good service from the staff.

Carpets in the hotel need a good change very old and dingy with tears and not very appealing.

The swimming pool was nice, the internal walls need some tlc.

Overall not a 3* in my opinion.

Service from the bar / restaurant was excellent. Couldn’t do enough and very happy.

Checked in at 9pm and key left on the side and no sign of staff. Checkout was a guy in reception who just took the key from my wife and didn’t really comment so my wife didn’t feel comfortable to say anything.

Our room (No9) was very hot, hitting 26c at night at one point and was it was ground floor and looking into grounds where there was a bbq, couldn’t leave the blind open or open the window.

Room was cramped. Well stocked with tea/coffee etc and the bathroom was nice. That was clean aside from mould spots on the ceiling.

Bed was ok, aside from both wooden headboards were attached so every time you moved, it would whack the wall.

The quality of the food was excellent, can see why people go there just to eat. The grounds are lovely, parking was easy.

Our 2 operatives tried to check in, no one availble and tried calling all numbers. No answer even on the emaegency helpdesk number provided. No sign of anyone working at the reception desk. Waited a very long time with no replies, they had to sleep in their van.

Exceptionally comfortable and large bed, with crisp linen, spacious room, hot and powerful bath and shower, with hand held shower for hair washing, biscuits tea coffee and still and sparkling water changed daily. Warm room on a frosty night, very welcoming. Tasty evening meal, three courses around £50 with service charge on top, were allocated a room out in the outbuildings, but as the weather was dry this was perfectly acceptable

This was a game of two halves. Front of property beautiful, accidentally drove to back car park, very shabby. Reception guy early evening was wonderful, really smiley and helpful, loved the hotel decor and got excited for our stay. Lovely bar and snug. Accessing room 19 through dining room was a little odd and the room was opposite the kitchen back door. Went for a swim, pool needs updating, again very shabby and had a hose stuck through the wall spouting freezing cold water into pool during the hour we were there. Our evening dining experience was horrendous, ordered scallops, pricey at £14.40 but I couldnt wait to enjoy delicious seared scallops, out they came, three tiny scallops the size of a 10p piece, so overcooked I struggled to chew them, partner sent hers back, my son had a burger that had either been recooked or reheated, the meat so dry he was taking s sip of water after every mouthful. The waiting staff not overly bothered about customer service, walked quickly back to the refuge of the kitchen, not offered anything else to drink after first one, left waiting for dessert menu for kids, had to ask in the end, adults had no pudding because food had been somewhere between awful and ok. Owners need to ask friends or mystery shoppers to experience what is being offered here. Could have forgiven tatty areas and rebooked to come back but the dining experience sealed the deal, wont return.

Nice but not great.

Nice place but quite small and basic.
They’ve gone for a shabby chic look but it looks a bit worn in places. Our room for a family of 4 was very small.
Also it’s a dog friendly hotel which I hadn’t realised.

Loved every minute. We wanted to stay another night, but they were full up. Marley, our server and bartender was charming and knowledgeable. He gave us a tutorial on gin, since they had 200 different kinds in the bar. We ended up having a few gin drinks and thoroughly enjoyed them. Dinner was lovely and there was also complimentary full breakfast.

An excellent hotel for a trip to Bradford on Avon. The food was good and service excellent.
Bradford is in easy reach and the hotel is on a bus route to Bath and Bradford. A canal trip is enjoyable.
One word of caution: the entrance is on a sharp bend with not the best visibility (from Bradford), so take care.

Booked in for one night with my wife and our dog. We will definitely come and stay again. The hotel is very dog friendly (sausage for breakfast!), and there are plenty of good dog walks from the hotel. The indoor pool was lovely and the bed very comfortable. An excellent selection of local gin on offer too. The staff were great.

A wonderful stay.

A fabulous stay enjoyed. The atmosphere was welcoming and incredibly cute. Especially as our dog was greeted with much fondness by all. The quality of design and attention to detail made our room so very appealing and relaxing which captured the real essence of a weekend escape. The service was wonderful. The facilities were great, the swimming pool and changing area were clean and tidy, the size and layout of the pool simple, enough for a fair few good laps of exercise. The grounds really lovely. We enjoyed and an evening meal opting to eat out on all the other days. The menu although refined and of quality sourced ingredients was too pricey for our budget so we did not include breakfast with our stay. Room service was excellent when only orange juice and coffee was required, and a reasonable charge was acceptable. The bed was incredibly comfortable which made for a wonderful romantic stay

This place was lovely. Our family was very comfortable. The bartender was great and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Make reservations. We did run out of hot water but it was probably my because my teenager takes the longest showers. Also, the pool is heated but not warm enough on very cold days.

A beautiful part of the world, booking in was friendly and help full, the room had a super king size bed, the pool was great. The Manor was ornate with lots of unusual ornaments, the big log fire was lovely and warming to drink your gin too !!! The gin bar was fun, with so many types to choose from.
The evening meal was served by friendly staff who didnt bother us while we were eating (which was so nice) and the food was outstanding good

Misleading!

Although staff were great, the location lovely, the hotel is very dated and unkept. There are several leak/damp damages to both main building and cottages and the outside is unkept with several \"decorations\" rotting. The listing is also misleading as the family room was listed as double and 2 singles but it was a sofa bed. Also you dont actually get to stay in the main building but in one of small cottages around meaning you have to put shoes and get fully dressed to access the communal amenities such as dining room, bar or swimming pool!

Special 30th birthday stay

The hotel staff facilities and food were all excellent we were kindly escorted to our room which was very clean and all the bits in the room even those for my dog was a nice surprise even the extra sausage for her at breakfast she was a very happy puppy. It’s a quiet and calm location though we did stay on a Monday night. The only let down was the fire alarm went off at midnight for about half an hour otherwise a 5* stay. I’m sure this was a one off so I would definitely recommend and a big thanks for a spa treatment and my birthday note and wishes from staff. Leisure facilities area was also great x

From start to finish Widbrook Grange was a complete delight. Having booked the room as a surprise birthday present for my best friend, I called the hotel and arranged for a birthday message to be left in the room upon arrival. The team couldn’t have been more helpful with this request and the trip as a whole. A beautiful place with wonderful staff - it makes such a difference when everyone is smiling and welcoming. Disappointing bedroom

Despite having booked a double room we were given a tiny room on arrival with very little space at sides and in front of the large bed. Rather shabby wardrobe which was very small and awkward to hang clothes due to limited space. Very little space to move around generally.
We complained the room was not what we had booked and asked to be moved to a larger room. They were unable to do this until the following afternoon as they were fully booked. The replacement room was very spacious but the initial disappointment rather spoiled our stay as we had to unpack then repack our cases and belongings in order to move room.
Apart from that we found the staff very friendly and helpful.

A night away

Pleasant hotel handy for K&A canal

2 night stay in a classic double. Huge comfy bed. Very long bath. Plenty of hot water. Very quiet. Nice full English breakfast using local ingredients. Had 1 evening meal at the hotel, Quite pricey but good quality and freshly cooked. Efficient and friendly service. As the weather was warm we ate all our meals outside in the gardens. Covid 19 measures were fine and we felt very safe. Good WiFi throughout the hotel, room and garden. Enormous selection of gins but limited selection of beer/larger.

Good for humans and dogs

We had a really lovely 2 night stay in a nice spacious room separate from the main building. It was setup really well to cater for dogs with a nice gift for them on arrival, dog basket and water bowl thoughtfully put in the room. A nice comfortable king size bed and a separate couch with en-suite bathroom with aroma therapy spa products to use.

Breakfasts were part of the price and very generous and tasty. Sadly we didn’t have time to sample an evening meal but we think it would be worth it.

We would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you have dogs with you.

My room was so pretty, bedlinen excellent, clean, quirky, warm and cosy with every amenity.
The whole place is beautifully decorated. I didn't dine there so cannot comment on the restaurant. Lovely location,very quiet and its a nice 20 minute walk into town.

Beautiful venue and i imagine it would be lovely in the summer. Very friendly staff and fabulous breakfast, did not eat there for dinner. However very disappointed in the room as it didn't live up to my expectations as a SUPERB hotel and the pictures displayed on your website. The room was small and as for a king size bed it was two singles pushed together with no mattress topper to make it feel like a double over the top so it was VERY uncomfortable, not worth the money and because of this I would not stay there again. I feel
