Lovely food. Some of the best ever. The burger was to die for. Slightly chaotic with all the dogs barking causing havoc and shame couldn’t eat outside as there was a funeral on and loads of people from the wake seemed to have priority. Missed breakfast out of my own fault but lady made me up a bacon roll after checking with a chef.

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Bath. Loved the room (named \"Jake\") with its compact space and the layout between the room and the bathroom. You just can't get places that have character like this in the States. Ate dinner both nights in the restaurant which was very good. On both nights (weeknights) the restaurant was full. The venison pie was outstanding. Opting for something more healthy my wife and I chose the porridge with local honey the first morning and repeated the same on our second day breakfast because it is excellent. They have ample parking which was nice that we didn't have to worry about finding a spot on return when coming and going.

A very nice country pub in a great location for visiting local attractions in Bradford on Avon. Friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We met friends and family for dinner and the food was good. We stayed in the annex which was clean and comfortable albeit the room was small and the single beds were quite narrow so need to check on booking if singles are required and sizes of doubles. Excellent clean bathroom with good big walk in shower. It was quite with little noise from traffic. We enjoyed our one night stay and would return if visiting area again

The pub is a lovely old building but this raised issues with condensation/damp in the bathroom. The single glazing will have contributed to the amount of traffic noise, which was unexpected given the hotels location. The bed/matress was very soft which is the main issue as due to this we had very little sleep and now have an aching back.

Paid for a comfort room but it should have been advertised as a box room. The towel rail in the bathroom didn’t work so it was extremely cold in there. The TV was unwatchable due to poor signal, which also affected my phone. The whole room just felt tired and old. I wouldn’t choose to stay there again. The bar and food however were good.

The room was spacious with new furniture. The bathroom was very clean. Tea and coffee were topped up daily, the bed made and the bathroom cleaned. We ate in the restaurant which served lovely well presented tasty food. There was a good choice for breakfast. We had the full english which could be changed slightly to your specific tastes. We would definitely recommend.

Very nice pub with lovely food and clean rooms. The only negative was that it was a warm night so we had the windows open. Our room faced the main road which at 5.30 am got a bit busy with traffic which woke us up. In Winter with the windows closed it would have been fine. The other rooms away from the Jain road would have been quieter. That aside, it was a nice pub with goo food and a lovely breakfast. We would stay again.

This was a nice place BUT when I booked it I didn’t know that the pub and restaurant would be closed on the Sunday so I couldn’t eat not enjoy a cosy country pub which was why I’d booked it. It was lovely for the Monday night. I’d return but avoid a Sunday!

My husband and I stayed here for its proximity to Bath. We were very pleasantly pleased by our stay at the Tollgate Inn. After a long day of driving, we walked around the beautiful neighborhood and fields. Then we had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant, followed by lively music by a band. The next morning, we had a fabulous breakfast, cooked to order. The room was clean, updated, with all of the amenities we needed. Highly recommend this Inn and would stay again. Lastly, we got a wonderful tip from one of the staff in the morning to park at the local station to take the train into Bath. That was such a clutch suggestion!

Well equiped, good-sized, very clean room. Good, fairly basic breakfast and dinner. Pleasant helpful staff. The only drawback is a lot of traffic noise in rooms on the main road.

Exceptionally cold weather our room was unfortunately cold the first night after talking to staff this was immediately rectified with extra heater and bedcover. Just the overall hospitality would entice us to stay again.

We stayed here to break our journey up from East Midlands to Southampton. Staff where pleasant and food was delicious, however, much more consideration for guessed would have be welcomed. I have a full understanding that staying above a pub for a night will come with its noises…… but not to the extreme that we experienced. Loud music and very noisy customers and staff until 1:30am. Came away, tired, disappointed and wasn’t looking forward to continuing our journey 😡

We stayed at the Tollgate Inn, Holt for one night and everything was fine. There is plenty of parking space and they have a marquee outside on part of the car park so when the weather is nice, which is was when we stayed, you can sit outside in shade.

The room is a decent size for two people and the bathroom was clean with a good, powerful shower. The bed was comfortable and there was a kettle, coffee and tea, a couple of bottles of water and small fridge with a bottle of milk, a refreshing change to the usual long-life sachets you normally get. It was a very warm day so wanted to leave the window open but as the room was on ground level it would be easy for anyone to climb in so we left valuables in locked in the car.

This is a lovely spot - on the edge of the lovely village of Holt but out of the bustle of Bradford on Avon just 2 miles away.
We had a fabulous dinner in the restaurant and the outdoor marquee for lunch was perfect. Our stay in the cottage was v. comfortable and quiet - just what we needed. A few plants in the garden would be nice but overall it was great.

I asked for early check in as I had a wedding to go to and they were gladly able to accommodate this, which was extremely helpful for me. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice and powerful. I had breakfast included, which consisted of cereal, tea, orange juice and a lovely English breakfast. Staff were friendly and attentive. This was the perfect place to stay, great value and I would definitely recommend it.

The parsley room is right above a speaker below. Not the Quietist of rooms while music is played downstairs. Wasn’t an issue for us but if looking for a quiet room don’t have this one and contact them if a problem.
