The owner collected us from the airport bus station, £15 for the 3 of us. Our room was adequate with 3 beds however the shower room was very good. Looked like it was recently refurbished. One issue was the shower head was loose. The room temperature was decent and the beds clean and comfortable though new pillows are needed as they are pretty thin. Also the scatter cushion covers need a wash. The location is great for Gatwick Airport and a reasonable price.

Great location to be able to walk to the train to catch into London for the afternoon/evening. Seems to be enough parking as well. They also offered to keep our bags a couple hours earlier than our room was available. The common areas are nicely decorated. The room was underwhelming. The bed was a bit smaller than we like. The linens were nice. In the room we had the little sink is beside the bed with the carpet under it and the wall is all splashed next to it. It’s a bit awkward but functional. The toliet/shower was a small cramped corner room/closet but again clean and functional. For us this was the most affordable option which was relatively clean and walking distance to train station and included a light breakfast. Basically the fellow who runs the place makes you toast and eggs if you like. Again clean and as advertised.

We had an excellent stay at The Lawn. It is an easy walk from the station and to a number of take-aways and restaurants. We chose to buy food from a supermarket and were able to eat at the wooden, covered table and benches just outside the property, which worked very well for us.

This is my second time at The Lawn. All the basics are here for a relaxing, quiet stay. Kept very clean and tidy. Extremely helpful, friendly staff. Plenty of coffee/tea provided in the room. Very strong, free wi-fi signal.Great choice of TV channels available. Many restaurants/cafes/pubs/shops only a few minutes walk away. Horley railway station is a mere 8 minutes walk away with frequent trains into central London [takes about 40 minutes] and only a two minute train ride to Gatwick airport. Enjoyable exoerience.

The place is cute. Issues I had room was for five people only two towels provided. It was a very hot day that we checked in. In the room had no AC just a little fan you go crack a window that open a little due to the heat was unable to sleep all night and due to the lack of towels, three of us were not able to freshen up and the front desk wasn’t open until after we left for the airport we left in the morning. Our flight left very early going down the big stairs. There’s no lights those completely dark, making it unsafe to walk down the stairs with your luggage and almost pure darkness.

Reception wasn’t available when we arrived or at all during our stay. Bed hard, very dated. Bathroom clean however shower grate unattached to shower floor. Very thin walls as we could hear the conversation in the adjacent room. You had to unplug the fan to turn on tv.. vise versa.

The bed was super comfy, the only downside is people coming in or departing early to catch flights and you can hear some noise but after about midnight its dead quiet.

Beautifully run and maintained property. Sadly during our stay we were really ill with food poisoning from a non-UK airport, but even with that we could appreciate the good job the owners (?) are doing. They weren't able to help with the medical things - there's no 24 hour pharmacies, doctors or clinics anywhere close by - but of course that's not on the hotel. There are several restaurants and pubs within a short walk, and the Horley train station too, but it's still pretty quiet. For stays near Gatwick, for much better price than the 'airport' hotels, I would highly recommend it.

The house is gorgeous. The room is large, beautifully appointed with fireplace and large windows. Quasim picked us up at the airport, made breakfast for us all while making sure we had everything we needed. We stayed at The Lawn Guesthouse when we arrived in England and a month later when we were heading for home, we stayed two more nights. The train station is a quick walk for a day trip to Brighton on our last day. If we go to England again, we'll definitely stay with Quasim.

My disappointment began when I emailed the day before my arrival with a question. The hotel did not bother to reply-very poor!
I arrived in the morning before checkin time and was told a room was available and I was given my room key but wasn't allowed to access the room unless I paid an additional 30 pounds. I explained that as a gold hotels.com member I was entitled to a free early checkin where available but the man on reception was too busy lecturing me on how the 30 pounds was calculated to listen. I gave up and decided to go for a walk. The hotel advertises luggage storage. Since I wasn't allowed into my room (even though I had the key) I asked to leave my luggage in storage and was told to leave my bags at reception. I did, expecting they would be safely stored. I was shocked when I returned 4 hours later that my bags were still at reception exactly where I'd left them. Anyone passing could have taken them and worse, reception was un-manned. My laptop and all my belongings had been left totally unsecured in a public space. For this reason alone I don't recommend staying here if you can't get access to your room straight away.
On a lighter note, the room was clean and quiet. The shower was good and hot.

We have stayed at the Lawn a few times in between travelling from Canada to Spain and the UK.
Each time the owners have been very helpful when we are there early for check in, with our requests for extra T bags, milk etc. Always ask if we need anything booked for our onward travels. Lovely family guest house and we have stayed in a few on Massets road, but we continue to support this one as we have found them very helpful and welcoming.

This property was very convenient and close to Gatwick and train station. It was comfortable for one or two nights but I would not want to stay longer as the room would have been too small for my family.

The Lawn Guest is a great place to stay if you have an early flight or late arrival into Gatwick. The sheets were clean and the bathroom was clean. The home is a refurbished Victorian with great British charm. \"High street\" was literally a 5 minute walk away. I was able to go to the grocery store for last minute items as well as enjoy dinner at a really great Turkish restaurant.
