This is the second time I’ve stayed at Lorne House but my first time since I was a teenager. Bob was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed. I’d go as far as to say this is the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in with a lovely old feel and enormous comfy bed. My partner and I were pleased to come back after a long day in Bath to a luxurious bathroom which was the most well equipped I’ve seen from a B&B. The breakfast was lovely and our check in and out was easy. The parking on site is tight but so convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will make another visit to the area just to stay at Lorne House again. Thank you!😃

Can’t rate our stay at Lorne House highly enough. The property is beautiful and so well equipped. The views to the rear of the premises are stunning. Bob and Liz were brilliant hosts; attentive, knowledgeable and kind - they really couldn’t have done anymore to make us feel welcomed. The room (which was an upgrade from what we had booked) was lovely. Clean, comfortable (the bed was super) and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious and a good variety of options meant we were very satisfied during our 4 day stay. All in all the experience was wonderful and very good value for money for what you get. Highly recommended if you want a central location to get to Bath and the surrounding area.

Excellent 3 night stay at Lorne House. Friendly & attentive hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Lots of information provided prior to our stay. Excellent choice of breakfast with locally sourced food. Extremely comfortable bed in beautiful bedroom with stunning bathroom. Everything in Lorne House was extremely clean with the usual tea/coffee making facilities also available after a long day's sightseeing. Lorne House is handy for local buses which take you into Bath or Chippenham and beyond. The connection with Rev.W. Awdry, the author of the \"Thomas the Tank\" stories was an added bonus - he lived at Lorne House & there is a Blue Plaque to commerate this. All in all a wonderful mini break.

It was a lovely B&B in a very good location. We stayed two nights, the breakfast was excellent, the host gave me a great tip on getting into Bath by advocating the use of the X31 bus, which runs from just opposite the B&B to Bath city centre [took about 15 mins] - Car parking was available at the property or in an adjacent doctors surgery car park. All in all a very enjoyable two day city break.

Mini-family break. The hotel is set in Box, around 6miles away from Bath. We were met by the owner, Bob, who was very welcoming and accommodating to our requests. Comfy and clean room. Plenty of interesting places close by. Though on a busy road we had a room at the front and heard nothing from the road as double glazed. Breakfast was very good. Bob was very friendly and helpful. The wet room was just that wet. Nice shower but we where aware of the water heading towards the bedroom carpet. My partner and I booked this hotel and couldn’t rate it more highly. The rooms were lovely and clean, homely and felt newly decorated. Coffee tea and hot chocolate was available in the room and the range of both continental and cooked breakfast was great and very tasty. The hosts themselves could not have helped out more and there was a great range of leaflets books dvds etc to borrow from them! Would definitely come again!

Lovely house decorated with style and respect for its history - the author of Thomas the Tank Engine lived here. Breakfast was cooked to order and tasty. Make sure you observe the check in times - this wasn't obvious on Expedia - but the owner was very friendly when we found him in the annexe at the back! Plenty of evening meal options in the area, although many requiring a car and booking in advance.

I found Lorne House a very pleasant place to spend a short break in rural Wiltshire. The room was comfortable with a great view and an ensuite shower room which was clean and nicely tiled. The proprietors were friendly and helpful, providing a welcome breakfast in pleasant surroundings. A short walk found a good public house and curry restaurant. There is local history to suit any railway enthusiast or military historian. Close to Bath and Chippenham, finding Lorne House is extremely easy. There is parking and a frequent bus service to the urban areas during the day. Well recommended.
