The property is simply stunning! I have been to the Cotswolds many times over the years however this was a first for my partner who found the area breathtaking. The highlight of her few days here was the hotel. Every aspect of the hotel was faultless and will certainly return for a longer stay.

Lovely hotel with lots of character, great food and drink and wonderful staff.

Our room was on the second floor with only stairs access, which may be difficult for some. It was a little dark in our room due to the trees outside and lighting configuration within the room. It was noticeably warmer on the second floor than the first or ground floor and, as lacking air conditioning, may become very hot in warmer temperatures.

We had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We would definitely book again.

Great weather meant we got to utilise the pool space which was great. However, it was dirty upon our arrival but cleaned the following morning. Breakfast was good and the restaurant served a small menu but it was fine for us. Limited availability with the wine menu and no draft beer. A pleasant stay which I would recommend.

What a beautiful property to stay in. The room we stayed in was clean, well furnished and had all the extras you needed. Because the hotel is set back from the road there is no noise therefore we had a great night's sleep in a very comfortable bed.

All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and finally we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast!

The location was great, easily accessible by car and easy free parking. The property on the exterior is beautiful, well kept grounds and nice architecture. The inside is nice however tired, our room had a big water leakage from the shower to the carpet, made it very moldy. Spider webs and insects are everywhere in and around the property. The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall a decent stay, wish the interior of the property was up-kept to a higher standard.

Not such a wonderful welcome. We were allocated a room up top at the back of the main house. Above the kitchen. This wing / area is well known by the staff as the noisy space! The kitchen extractor is still going well, actually it might have been quieter sleeping in the kitchen. it was like being in an airplane! We did complain and advised it would go off after 8.30pm. It did go off at 9.15pm. Hoorah! Oh no 12.15am, just dropping off when the kitchen extraction fan is switched on again. Got dressed and went down stairs. No reception staff so the proceeded to the hotel kitchen, where a member of staff was dressed down and cooking something up! He apologised then turned the extractor off. I returned to my room. A noisy room not only with the kitchen noise but also the traffic. Oh the shower was dreadful, really needs replacing. The Hotel has huge potential but now requires/needs some tlc. Never any evidence of management on any occasion we have stayed. Yes been before but really must avoid the kitchen wing. Oh lovely breakfast thank you. We were told to book because it was going to be busy but only four guests when we arrived at 9am.

This is a smaller hotel with a homely, personal feel that felt unique compared to larger, more commercial feeling hotel / spa combos that are becoming so common now.

We felt very comfortable playing games and having drinks in the evening, enjoying the unique heated outdoor pool and generally relaxing.

Our room was large with a huge, comfy bed with crispy clean linen and a lovely hot bath with bubbles.

Our evening meal was exceptionally tasty and well presented - the baked Sole was the best meal I've had this year .

This would easily be a 5 star review except for a funny interaction with the restaurant manager who, despite my booking a 6:30pm dining slot weeks ago, which the front desk confirmed on arrival, looked at me like I had two heads when we turned up to dine...he did speak to us at first, didn't use any pleasant or even polite language to put us at ease and made me feel a bit silly TBH by staring at me in the hallway until I spoke. This person needs to follow the example set by his team who were all warm, conversational and put us at ease. There was a 60th birthday in the big function room that perhaps took his attention away, but I couldn't help feeling this chap is in the wrong industry.

Other than that, we couldn't recommend this enough. A little gem tucked into the Wiltshire countryside.

There was no offer of porter services to and from our room. We had to haul our luggage up 3 flights of steps. The room was smaller than expected. The dining staff were friendly.
I was rather surprised at the price of 2 poach eggs, sausage and a small croissant at 19 pounds or $25.00 dollars. Each morning. If i had been given a an opportunity to know prior i wouldn't have ordered it. Maybe because i took the small croissant and butter off the breakfast buffet i was also charged for that also. It was disappointing.

This was our second visit in two weeks. We were initially attracted to it because of the outdoor heated pool which did not dissapoint. The staff were helpful, courteous, polite, professional. The rooms immaculate - very relaxing. We had food on the second visit - dinner was perfect, breakfast, likewise. They seem to get everything right here. We look forward to visiting again - very, very soon.

Our third visit here. We love the grounds and location close to Lacock. Breakfast was a little slimmed down this year and we were informed a latte cost an extra £5. I think there needed to be a drinks menu at breakfast informing if drink options and surcharges. More local produce would have been nice.
There were unfortunately some works outside our room which meant our room had a pungent drain smell. We did report to staff but they bought really offer any contingencies. Overall a lovely stay but a few slightly underwhelming features this time that made it hard to justify the price point

What a pity, as this hotel has so much potential.
the room was not ready until after 6, the cleaning had been abandend half way through.There was no apology Although the room was advertised as cosy. it was more than big enough the problem was with the cleanliness.There was a weird smell which we didn't get to the bottom of, the head board had a thick layer of dust and behind the bed was disgusting. The night staff assured us that it would be cleaned for the next night. It wasn't. well I had already had one disturbed night sneezing, I didn't want a second so asked if they could clean it before i went to bed, which they did. With a bit of attention to detail,this hotel could live up to it's 4 star rating which at the moment it sadly doesn't.

We booked for 3 nights for a convalescence break. The first room we were in had a huge hole in one side of the bed as the mattress was clearly very old. The staff were excellent and moved us to another room the following day which was much more comfortable. We were on the shady side of the hotel with some road noise when windows were open but the room wasn’t too hot despite the weather. There is no double glazing in the hotel which needs updating. Grounds and pool are good. Staff were all very nice

The grounds of the house is beautiful. We wondered around and even walked through the cornfield. The staff was Excellent and went out of their way for anything we needed. My college student son even took his final online exam in the Library which is over 200 years old and the staff gave him a pitcher of water, cookies and a Good Luck note. Best kept secret in the areas.

Room was stunning, clean and beautiful, overlooking the grounds. Most of the food was good but the haddock was overcooked and dry. Hotel had many issues due to staffing, arrived at 3 but room wasn’t ready until 4.30, one complimentary drink offered as compensation. On check out our bill included drinks and meals that we hadn’t had so that also had to be rectified. While waiting to check in and out people before us were also having issues around payments, including being told they had booked direct and not paid even though they had their confirmation through a third party site.

A Perfect Stay at a Hidden Gem - 5 Stars

We stayed at Beechfield House Hotel from 21st May to 24th May 2025 and had a wonderful relaxing break.
Our room was beautiful, featuring French doors and a balcony with stunning views over the pool and gardens - the perfect spot to unwind.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and well cared for. A special mention goes to Elaine, whose warmth and friendliness made us feel more like old friends than guests.

We were lucky with the weather and took full advantage of the hotel's heated outdoor pool, spending hours swimming and lounging in the sun. It was exactly the escape we needed.

Breakfast each morning was a highlight - freshly cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.

If we hadn't already booked our next hotel, we would have happily extended our stay. Beechfield House is a true hidden gem, and we're already looking forward to booking our next stay. A well-deserved 5-star review!

Lovely large room - quite dark, not many lights. Comfy bed & small fridge provided which was useful. Window wouldn’t stay open so wedged open (really hot few days). Old building so you could hear lots of creaking floor boards and when in the bathroom - you could conversation in next room. Fab pool which I don’t get chance to use. Only real disappointment was when I returned home, the hotel have charged me for the room which I had already prepaid with hotels.com. I have not had any response to my emails but I am already booked to stay next week so will deal with it then if not resolved!

The place is wonderful with a great country house vibe. Room size is good and the ground is beautiful. The swimming pool is tempting but the weather during my stay was too cold for me to enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful. I paid and make a booking with Hotels.com but the front desk did not find the booking. They provided me the room. Maybe there is some system issues. The hotel solved it right away.

Overall nice grade 2 listed building would recommend. Done up well inside, enjoyed our 1 night stay. Only tiny thing was my main meal (sea bass) was a bit on the small but everything else ok. The room itself was nice with good shower and complimentry tea/coffee. Comfy bed.

A really beautiful hotel and location. The room was in good condition and the grounds and hotel was well looked after. The only draw backs were that the bathroom light was on a sensor timer which meant it stayed on longer than desired and there was also a very large puddle covering the entrance to the hotel but this could have been due to the very heavy rain.

Overall it was a lovely stay. However, on arrival our bathroom was quite dirty including a skid mark in the toilet bowl and it smelt damp. This hotel was quite the perfect venue for a family living in different parts of England to gather together to celebrate an important birthday. Everyone enjoyed their stay with the outdoor pool being the star of the show, particularly with the children. We were greeted by Chris when we checked in after long day exploring Cotswold. We decided to stay in and booked a reservation for dinner. We had steak and Seabass and both meals were cooked to a perfection. All the courses were delicious from starter to dessert. The bed, bedding, linens, and soaps were luxury without loosing the characters of the house..and clean. All the staff were super friendly and very helpful. Thanks Desi, Chris and everyone (sorry, I forgot the name) so welcoming and helpful to make our stay memorable. Beautiful grounds and view from our room. We’ll definitely comeback again.

We stayed here for a one night over Easter 2024 and had a great time. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. We managed a quick swim in the outdoor pool, which is covered but not warm. They had a couple of footballs and goals in a part of the garden that is a good place to stretch your legs. The room was a great size for 2 adults one 8 year old child - the extra bed had been setup before we arrived. Three bottles of water in the fridge. I would recommend taking your own drinks.

The dinner in the restaurant was excellent quality but poor value for money in my view - we paid £30 for a lamb dish that only two chops in it. They were cooked perfectly and Def high quality but the prices reflect a central London hotel rather than a B&B in the Cotswolds. The breakfast was included and again quality was good, but only one sausage and one egg, with the plate filled out with a huge tomato and a pot of beans felt a little cheap.

AVOID! We stayed as a family of four with a 15 month old baby. Our room stank of dog, in some places smelt of dog faeces to the extent that I actually checked under the furniture to see if there was one that had been missed! There were stains all over the carpet and we had to prevent our baby from crawling on the floor as it was so filthy. Reported it to reception who couldn’t move us to another room. Restaurant was extremely overpriced for the food served and the service in the restaurant was poor as they got our order wrong. The next morning upon check out again reported the room and was told the manager would call me that day to discuss. No call ever received. 3 star hotel at best but our room was absolutely disgusting. Terrible customer service.

Lovely & comfortable but overpriced

Hotel, hotel room & surroundings, including the outdoor pool was lovely & comfortable
Dinner & Dinner service was excellent albeit overpriced.
Breakfast was less organised and a wider variety of bread would have been expected in a 4 star hotel as oppose to cheap shop bought white & brown sliced bread for toasting.
Bath was not clean when we arrived.

Overall nice hotel but food could be better

We went as a weekend escape from London to spend some time by the pool.

The positives:
The hotel itself is beautiful and has been recently redecorated. The room was comfortable and a good size. Also the gardens were very well kept. The staff were friendly and tried their best.

The negatives:
The pool area could do with a renovation, the pool itself misses some tiles etc but overall the pool is relatively large and it was never too busy. There is no shower by the pool.
The main issue was the food. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The burger tasted like something frozen from Aldi, it was of a chewy, compact consistency, it was so bad we had to send it back. The brioche was also something that tasted shop bought. However, the staff were very understanding and changed the main course and removed it from the bill which we appreciated. The desserts were great!
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointed. The cooked meals were good but the buffet could have been better. Cereals came in individual packaging (not very eco friendly!), the toast were served in their Hovis bread bags (it would have been nicer if they had put the bread underneath a towel). Small details, but they make a difference.

Overall, nice hotel and the staff tried hard to correct the mistakes so a big plus to them.

Weekend break with electric vehicle

Excellent facilities which included the use of the electric vehicle charging point (although busy). Didn’t use the swimming pool as it was very busy but looked excellent.

Hidden Gem

A little hidden gem, stayed 2 nights at the hotel and loved it. Beautiful hotel and fabulous staff, Beth looked after us throughout our time at the hotel and couldn’t do enough for us. Fabulous!

Disappointingly Poor

Disappointingly poor, the entry road on the way into the hotel was flooded. There wasn’t any staff at reception. The room was ok, the bathroom was tired, poor finish to bath / shower. The food and drinks were ridiculously over priced. £9.50 for a single Gin & £5.50 for a 330ml bottle of Peroni. Food was very average and the dining experience was non existent. The Lights kept flickering in the dining room which made your eyes hurt. Again not enough staff to manage the small number of diners. For the prices they were charging for everything you would naturally expect better standards & service.

Lovely location/building. Nice staff though very few of them. Disappointed that since arivall of new manager dogs are no longer allowed to eat in the restuarant. This comes close to discouraging dogs at all as many would be reluctant to leavetheir dogs in an expensive htel room for the duration of a meal time
