Our stay here was fantastic. All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and welcoming. Special shout out to Amella (so sorry if I’ve spelt your name wrong) though, so understanding and couldn’t do enough for us! Location was good, room was clean and had everything you needed. On arriving at the hotel I was given the key for my room went upstairs stripped the bed back to find yellow all over the mattress cover P stain not just a little the whole bed went downstairs to reception. I was given another room when I done the same to that bed. It hadn’t got a mattress cover on But the bed was very uncomfortable. Not happy at all. I’ve put a complaint in to Hotels.com watch this space?

The reason for my visit was to attend a professional conference being held at a venue nearby. As such things routinely do, the conference was scheduled to begin at 0900. Unfortunately, as I discovered when I checked in, The Crown does not offer breakfast until 10.0am, so I had to leave with no more in the way of breakfast than the complementary sachet of nescafe. Additionally, the standard of maintenance was poor - an electric socket was broken leading to concern of possible accidental electrocution and the shower head holder was broken, making it difficult to have a satisfactory shower, especially when you are as tall as me - 6ft 4in

Very friendly staff and nice enough room. Bed wasn't particularly comfy but ok for one night, would have struggled with longer. Parking spaces are tiny so most cars parked over 2 spaces. Pub was busy so consider booking in advance if you want food - if the weather hadn't been good, I wouldn't have been able to eat there as there were no available tables inside.

Staying in room 3D was not an experience to repeat, whoever was in the room above sounded like they were moving furniture around a wooden floor for over 2 hours until after midnight, then started again at 7am. Road noise was also very noticeable. Car park spaces are really small too, so was worried about door dings. Food was good though!
