The internet/Wi-Fi kept cutting off intermittently and I was constantly having to sign back in to it, which was really annoying. On my last day it took me 7 attempts to sign in to it, which is ridiculous.
Breakfast was good especially having fresh milk with tea - so hate long life milk.
The staff were really friendly and extremely helpful - can't praise them enough.
We did have a fire alarm go off at 3.40 am one morning, which turned out to be a false alarm. None of the staff said anything to anyone in the morning, which I found very bad, as an explanation of being woken at 3.40 am by an alarm which sounded similar to an American tornado warning was not fun!

We was welcomed with a smile and great energy. All questions were answered upon arrival.
The room was spotless. The beds were very comfortable.
Breakfast is a buffet and it was delicious all locally sourced food and you could taste it.
The views from the hotel are breathtaking definitely something you miss when coming home.
All members of staff had a smile on their face and were very welcoming.
The bar is lovely 2 open fires were perfect to sit next to and relax for the evening.
Town is about 20 minutes drive I don’t know about bus service.
We will definitely be back missing it already

The hotel was brilliant , warm and welcoming, meals were fantastic,friendly and helpful staff . Our room was on the third floor with lift going to second floor leaving with some steps to the room. Our room was comfy,warm plenty of tea and coffee.
Theres a bus stop at the end of the road if you wish to catch a bus to bath . Staff very helpful with info on this.
Certainly will stay again.

Lovely view from our room, comfortable bed and good amount of space. The bedroom was very hot though which did affect our sleep, we opened the window as wide as we could but didn't use the fan in the room.
Buffet breakfast was nice, good selection of hot and cold options. We enjoyed our stay!

Room was in need of refurb.
That said what made it not great were the curtains which had seen better days.
New curtains and the need for redecoration would have not been as noticeable.

Bed was comfy, sheets were clean.

Breakfast had some high quality sausage and bacon but let down by scrambled egg.

The hotel is priced appropriately, it's an older building with creaky slanted floors, some would call that charm I guess. bathroom was fine, beds where okay as well. Small TV, but it worked.

The food was very good and plentiful. Really loved the area and my only problem was the room size and sloping floors but due to the age of the building it was to be expected.
We will be back again as it is a well run Hotel.

Lovely setting, good size room for the price, but up a flight of very creaky stairs as lift did not go to top floor, which, to be fair, was made aware of this could be a possibility on booking. Bed was big, but very uncomfortable and shower drain was blocked so water did not drain well.

Room was very clean. Stairs everywhere. My mom uses a walker and I asked before we booked if it was accessible. From the elevator to the room it was two steps down and seven steps up. Not acceptable. I will never use hotels.com again.

A little out of the way.

Was surprised there was only 1 disabled parking space in a fairly large car park.
Rooms showed this was an old property with frayed, faded threadbare furnishings in places. Room was compact with I would say a 3/4 bed and not a double. En-suite was also compact. Linen and towels were lovely. Breakfast and evening dinner food was excellent. Great service from our server Caitlin. I just wish we had been told there was a wedding being held there on Saturday as we would have cancelled our booking as evening there was only the Avon room available for us to sit in that was freezing, so we spent the evening in our room as we didn’t like to impose on the wedding party. Gentleman on reception afternoon/evening his name began with E was also very helpful. On leaving Sunday morning my car was blocked in by a wedding guest and needed to request it to be moved as I needed to get away.

Lovely hotel. Not as convenient for Bath as hoped.

Nice hotel in lovely location with stunning views from our room. Staff very helpful and attentive. Hotel generally clean but needs some investment.
The concern arose as there was a wedding at the hotel while we were staying which made it very busy and noisy so we did not want to use the restaurant for dinner. It became very apparent that getting to Bath or another nearby town for dinner was extremely difficult without using our own car. Public transport is very limited and taxi drivers didn't want to make the journey.

Absolutely stunning setting close to Bath. The staff were courteous and helpful, the bed was comfortable and everywhere was clean.

The hotel is beautiful Victorean property. The location is idyllic between the hills. The only issue was the narrow entrance and the lack of parking due to the tour buses the used 4 parking spots. Other than that, the hotel was a hit. I would definitely stay again.

I stayed here as it was close to where I was going to. Our Greek receptionist was lovely as were all the staff which makes a hotel special.
Fans in the room made the warm temperature bearable.
The view over the valley were amazing.

Although was a late booking, my room was very dated with a cramped bathroom and toilet. The bedroom window also overlooked a metal external staircase and overlooked the main kitchen ventilation stack. WiFi reception was poor and had to hang out of the window to get a signal.

We stayed one night when returning to Devon from a family holiday in Portugal. (Via East Midlands Airport).
The hotel is in a beautiful location just outside Bath, where spent the day after. Like many of these old buildings it does need some work, but I'm sure that would be horrendously expensive.
It served our purpose and was extremely good value for money.

Very hard bed, flat pillows. Beautiful grounds.

A good night sleep is important to me when travelling so I was disappointed in the cheap hard mattress (felt like there was no padding over the springs) and flat pillows.

This meant I had significant pain and a poor nights sleep the two nights. I did ask for a mattress topper and bigger pillow for night two but they couldn’t accommodate.

The windows open which was nice and the grounds are beautiful.

The hotel is an old manor house and the interior is lovely with a very nice lounge area.

First time staying here. Superb for access to Bath and the surrounding area. Wonderful setting in a small village. friendly staff, great food and we were made to feel very welcome. Nice little locally owned pub opposite the entrance to the hotel serving local ales - if you want to eat there, book in advance Will look to use this hotel next time we are in the are in the area.

The hotel needs a bit of renovating, i do understand it’s an old hotel but a touch of paint or new carpets wouldn’t go amiss. The bed was very uncomfortable, almost hurting to turn over. No plugs next to the bed. No soap dispenser next to the bathroom sink and the hot tap was unnecessarily hot. During our stay, we had a power cut, we had been told it was something that was happening frequently - which left us with no internet and the lights all dim in the lounge. This made it hard to contact family members (currently unwell) as we also had no signal. We couldn’t use the lifts either due to the power cuts, which is an issue with anyone with heavy bags or mobility issues. It’s almost impossible to get a taxi as it’s in the middle of nowhere.

I have stayed before and fined it excellent my only concern they should have wall grip handles to assist getting in and out of the bath. And they should provide toilet brushes in the bath room both these items are a must in my opinion and borders on health issues other wise ideal place to stay

The room dated but clean.comfortable bed and area quiet. View and surrurrounding area bueatiful. Free available parking. However, breakfast was like a canteen and not worth the money charged. Only scrabbled egg serviced. Selfservice for everything. We had a bar meal of fish and chips but again sadly i couldn't have peas only mushy peas? The fish wasn't cold or haddick but hake, odd? Very hard to get to our room, blessed we didn’t have any physical problems.

Stay for the views!

I love this place! I came back here after having an amazing stay over Christmas. The staff are lovely and the rooms are cozy. The village is beautiful, quiet, and very serene. The canal is nearby and is a lovely walk. The view from my room overlooked the village, valley, and Avon River. With the frost on the ground, it turned magical!

Lovely Manor Hotel In The Country

This place is absolutely amazing! The hotel and the grounds are beautiful upon arrival. The desk porter, Esthfanios (spelling? Sorry!) Was lovely and so kind. The rest of the staff were incredibly nice, check in was smooth, and the room was lovely. It isnt a new building, so it isnt perfect, but you can't expect it to be. The hotel hosted a number of events while I was there, and they did such a great job! There was always coffee, tea, and water available, and it was nice sitting by the fire with a drink from the bar. The view from my room was of the village and the Avon River. It was stunning and I couldn't help just starting out of the window for hours. I hope to return again.
