Stayed a week for my birthday vacation. First two nights, saw small roaches in the kitchen at night and there was a leak from the utility closet. Both issues were resolved in a timely manner; we were moved to a different (cleaner) room and the maintenance person came within 15min to fix the leak. Other than these issues, the stay was 2.5 stars. Side note, housekeeping did not check on us at any point; had to request service via front desk.

Room was nice and clean to start, but AC didn’t work and wasn’t fixed properly until after 3rd night. Hot tub didn’t heat (colder than pool). Room was never serviced, in our 5 night stay I had to go to front desk for towels and even toilet paper. Will likely not stay here again.

Eggs were awful for breakfast and food was not put out properly 30 minutes before ending time. Need a better quality coffee maker in room. Local channels on television did not come in clear and were unwatchable. However, great location and staff was wonderful. Parking was also a headache even with complimentary valet. Had very limited access to your vehicle due to parking garage being so far away.

Sofa sleeper was atrocious. Besides the mystery board inside the sleeper the mattress was horrible. Could feel every spring.
Only 2 towels for our party of 3. No linens for the sleeper. Room had 2 temperatures... 2 hot and 2 cold.

Unfortunately, Residence Inn dropped the ball on our stay. They told us they couldn't accommodate our stay, and after we had a room, and unloaded our stuff, we were told we had to give up our room. They tried to tell us they told Expedia to handle the call, but we did not receive a call until we were in Virginia Beach. No one left a voicemail to let us know we no longer had a confirmed, paid in full reservation. I am currently waiting on the manager of that hotel to call me to discuss this situation further. He did reach out last week to apologize, and said he would call me after our vacation in OCMD was over. I never in my life had a vacation ruined by such incompetence. It so sad that we had such a communication breakdown. We were a repeat customer to this hotel, only to be left with nowhere to go once we got to Virginia Beach. This was an awful traumatic experience, and hopefully no one has to go through what we did on September 20th. Hopefully the Residence Inmates good for what they put us through.

There is another residence inn at the end of the boardwalk that is newer and more spacious, but this one was centrally located for easier access to boardwalk and shops. The breakfast was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Had ocean view and right next to Neptune statue. Was not noisy. Had a great stay!

Overly priced. We had a small square ocean front balcony. The toilet paper was held on by one side and the pole. Other side was broken off. Small holes all in the leather couch cushions since they are pet friendly location. The pull out couch also had springs showing and sunk in the middle. Two of us slept in the floor. Which is great when you have sciatica and the other has a herniated disc. Also, didn't like not having my ride any place near me. A friend of mine was 4 hotels down from me. Indoor and outdoor pool and a large balcony ocean front as well. Their ride was right across the street and they had access to it the whole time. For half of what I paid and they got 3 nights and 4 days for little more than $400. Mine was 2 nights and 3 days for almost $900.

Told security to come to our room specifically at 1am for smoking marijuana when we didn't have any possession of that . I just did not like my stay due to front desk and management . Extreme disappointment with our recent stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Virginia Beach. Our experience from June 15-19 was deeply unsatisfactory, and I feel it's important to bring these issues to your attention.
Upon our arrival at 10 PM on June 15, we were met with a strong, unpleasant odor in our initial room. Rooms are not the same. Despite our exhaustion, we tried to overlook it, but soon discovered large flying insects in the room, which greatly distressed our children. We immediately contacted the front desk, who assured us help was on the way. After an hour passed with no one arriving, my husband, despite the damaged elevator, went down to the front desk. He was again assured that someone would be sent with bug spray. Another hour went by, past midnight, with no assistance. We then discovered more bugs in the sink and spiders crawling on the bathroom walls.
We requested a room change, but were initially told no other rooms were available. After much frustration, at 1 AM, we were finally offered a room on the 14th floor. We repacked all our belongings and moved, only to find the new room had a severely leaking shower head with no water pressure, a problem that persisted despite our multiple attempts to get it fixed. A plumber was eventually sent, but he was only able to address the water flow, not the leak.
For the entirety of our four-night stay, we endured the constant noise of the leaking shower. Additionally, the room curtains were broken. So many issues.

All staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Very helpful and supportive. The only downside I have to say is our room was only cleaned maybe the first 2 days out of the 7 we stayed. They would come knock in the door, but if we were out the door by 11ish they didn’t seem to have come back after that knock. At least the pile of dirty towels u see the sink never got taken away. But overall I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this location to anyone looking to stay in Virginia Beach

4 nights family trip.
Booked 1 bedroom suite.
I’ll mention fantastic staff first.
Excellent location, clean rooms, kitchen with 4 burner stove, fridge, microwave, balcony overlooks ocean, tasty and ample breakfast options, nice pool and a small jacuzzi to relax and soak in, food options both right, left and infront of the hotel. Parking is challenging since hotel has very limited and tight spaces. But they offer free valet service which keeps the car at a nearby lot. So make sure to call for your car before coming down.
1 minute walk to the beach so that’s brilliant.
I would however request maintenance of air conditioning unit. Atleast in our room it was either too cold or too hot.
This is one hotel you don’t want to miss if you are coming to Virginia Beach.

Our first night we did not have ac. They moved us to a room that was bigger. Then about 10 mins later told us we had to move again bc someone else needed that room in the morning. They moved us to the top floor. Sounds cool but not when they’re doing construction on the roof? We were woken up to drilling most mornings of our 5 night stay. We didn’t know there was construction, which I understand they need to get there work done but maybe they could have warned us? Idk it made the trip a little less enjoyable bc we weren’t able to sleep in.

We recently stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott Oceanfront in Virginia Beach, and it was perfect for our group. It was myself and a friend traveling with eight kids (ages 7-12), and this hotel had everything we needed. The location is excellent—right on the beach—and the staff treated us like gold. The free valet parking was a huge bonus, making things so much easier.

The rooms felt like little one-bedroom condos, with plenty of space and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pool and hot tub were saltwater, so even after six days of swimming, the kids didn’t get chlorine-damaged hair or irritated skin.

A highlight was the free hot breakfast, which far exceeded expectations. Every morning, there were scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, a waffle station, bagels, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal with toppings, and more. Even with picky eaters, everyone found something they liked. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

We also loved that the lobby had coffee, tea, and fresh water available all day. We felt safe, well taken care of, and truly enjoyed our stay. This hotel exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We had a great room on the second floor. Unfortunately one of the elevators was under construction, however it is supposed to be fixed sometime this week. We just used the stairs, so no big deal. The breakfast was excellent, eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes along with yougart, cereal, fruit, juice and coffee. One of the better complimentary breakfasts I've had in a while. The parking can be a challenge, very small and limited spaces, however they have attendants that can help you along with valet parking availible for a small fee. All in all I would stay here again.

We were not informed maid service would be every other day, we had to look for someone to take the trash. There was no hot water in rooms for most of the week. While valet parking sounds great but it sometimes took 20-25 minutes to get your car. The breakfast looked great but food was not hot,I wonder if the temperature was adequate to prevent bacterial growth. The hallway smelled like smoke and marijuana, we reported it to the office but it took 4 days till they placed a filter in the hall. Hallways were never vacuumed. While this was a pet friendly hotel, I was surprised at the large amount of dogs staying here. Don’t plan on sitting outside on the balcony. The air conditioner blasted hot air and loud noise on you, making it impossible to enjoy sitting outside on the balcony.

This is the second time I review because i can not edit my first evaluation which is incorrec at some point because some confusion. Hotel is clean, service is good. breakfast ok. Ocean view is very good. parking ok and you are sure to have their people to park the car for you. employees be very friendly. One thing I was confused is that the charge at the checkout will include incidental fees, and are returned to you if you do not charge anything to the room. I tried to call the hotel when I got home after one day to ask why such differnce and got transferred to accountant dept. and no one answer and left me kept holding the phone. after serveral days I gave up. Then got email from hotel to explain that. finally i got refunded. anyway, recommended althought a little bit pricey.

First of all, the staff at this hotel is absolutely excellent. The kindest staff that I have ever encountered at a hotel.

The hotel is an older property and parking is an issue. That being said, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, were all stellar. We were blessed to not have to use the free valet parking since we always found a parking space in front of the hotel.

Room - clean, had plenty of towels, a/c is noisy (older property) but overall the room met our needs. Also, great ocean view.

Free Breakfast - lots of options including make your own waffles. Staff here were great too.

Location - perfect, right on the boardwalk.

Overall, a very good stay.

Immediately we had problems with the air conditioner. I reported it in the morning. Someone changed the filter. It got cooler but not cool enough. I received a phone call from Manager Chris. I was told that he was going to call Expedia to give me a discount. I was also supposed to get some towels and some stuff from the market. I never received anything and I had to let Chris know the next morning. He apologized and said that he would contact Expedia and would have engineering come and check the air conditioner. It still was never resolved. I called today after my check out, to leave Chris a message so that he doesn't forget to keep his end of the deal. Other than the air conditioning, the hotel and the location was great!

The hotel was pretty good, with easy access to the beach. The room was clean and comfortable. Some things that were not up to Marriott standards though. For example, one light bulb in our room was burnt, our sink was clogged. Breakfast area would run out of things like coffee or ketchup, and refills wouldn’t be ready. While all of these issues in themselves were minor, their cumulative effect created an impression that this property was good but not great.

Room could use a little TLC, the sliding door handle was loose, towel rack coming off the wall, a floor tile was cracked, and a curtain was hanging down. Otherwise very clean. Love the view here. Everyone is friendly. Parking is tight but the valet are pretty quick. My kids are perfectly happy with the free breakfast every day, very clean dining.

Location was wonderful, breakfast was good but some foods were a little too spicy. The bedroom had a wonderful view with the big window. The property was clean, elevators came quickly not a long wait. Pet friendly was a plus. What I didn't like it was too dark in the kitchen area, hard too see while washing dishes, our sliding door was hard to open and close, the sliding door window was dirty couldn't see out of one side, parking is not good, especially for checking in if you are the only adult.

Sticky floor, sticky carpets with stains, weird oppressive smell in the room took few days to air out, broken balcony door, impossible to open, stained window in the living room could not be cleaned, hard to see anything though, safe was broken, only stove and microwave, no oven, only 1 pot and pan, stained old bath towels, loud rattling AC unit placed right in the bedroom also stained with big rust leaks, at least clean bed sheets and comfortable beds and view from the balcony was amazing!

First, we arrived in at midnight due to our late flight and it took me an hour to get checked in due to the lady at the desk (not her fault) could not get logged into a computer to get us checked in because she did not have an employee number yet after starting two weeks previously and had to call her manager to help her out but she was even less help. Second, when we got to our room the carpets were soaking wet from room service doing a \"deep clean\" on them that took over two days to dry out. Lastly, the pool was only open half of the time (we were there for a week) because of a reason the staff could not provide but was working perfectly fine the morning it \"broke.\" The only thing we liked was the views and the breakfast. Most of the staff were decent and only a couple were rude and spoke absolutely no English.

Most amazing sunrise out of our window

This is our 3 time at this hotel and we will be back in 6 months . Very comfortable, clean , staff are nice , breakfast included and walk right onto the beach . You can’t beat the view out of our window . The only downside is valet parking takes a long time, they are short staffed so make sure you request your car early if you are pressed on time . There are very few spots available upfront and they are usually busy . Otherwise it’s an amazing place .

I don't think I have ever met a more helpful staff. However, this hotel has serious elevator issues. This hotel is equipped with two elevators. One has been out of service for quite some time. Waiting for parts I am told. The other one breaks down on a daily basis, for more than an hour each time, sometimes twice a day. Not good for guests staying on upper floors, or those with disabilities. For a hotel bearing the Marriott Name, this looks bad.

Pet friendly oceanfront hotel on the boardwalk. Nice stay. Shower water pressure great.
Negatives-room smelled like dogs, only 1 elevator working-long wait times for 14th floor. Many had to walk the stairs prior to my arrival

The property was immaculate, and looked like it had just been renovated in the most modern style. Everyone was very helpful, from the front desk staff (special shout-out to Alison!) to housekeeping to the valets to the folks taking care of the breakfast buffet.

We enjoyed our stay! Everyone was helpful and friendly. My main complaints would be to designate rooms /floors that don’t have dogs in them. Our couch was ruined by a dog, the dog next door barked endlessly and it was annoying as hell! And having only one working elevator and everyone else bringing big dogs up and down made it difficult for us disabled to get to our room.
