Staff was great and super friendly. Daily breakfast was also great.
We used the free self laundry during our stay and they had a drying rack in the room to dry your clothes 😀

We stayed in a villa with a private pool. The room was very big. AC was cold!

There are quite a few reefs which we enjoyed snorkeling around. We walked to Edgewater and had a bite to eat and walked to the Rarotonga Brewery for a drink.

The room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Staff were so helpful and friendly especially reception staff Frances, Inoke and Ryan and Jone in the restaurant. We loved staying at the Crown and would recommend it to others.

The hotel is terrible. The 2 bedroom oceanfront villa was old and needs renovation. The room door had an open gap an inch wide at the top, which exposed the room to the outside elements and critters. When reported to management, his response is nothing will get in. I had to request that management do something for me to feel comfortable staying and he stuffed the top of the door with bubble wrap. I did not stay for the reservation after this and seeing the condition of the room.

The deep tissue massage I had was one of the worse ever. Do not recommend the spa.

The restaurant and bar staff are the friendliest and the only decent thing about the property.

Do not book here. Save yourself the trouble I experienced and book at another property.

Our room was spacious with living/dining kitchen separate bedroom and bathroom with the main pool steps away and the restaurant also steps away. Could do with a deep clean as getting a bit tired. Staff very friendly and helpful and Lewis the grounds man was very friendly and helpful on what to see and do. The spa massage was very relaxing. We spent Christmas and New Year at the Crown Hotel and had a lovely time. I do think new pool and beach loungers are required as very low and quite uncomfortable

The staff in all areas of the hotel were amazing. Front desk even helped us organise our daily activities on the island and shared slot of helpful local info about places to visit and places to eat. Loved the quiet nature of the Crown. The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very calming and respectful. Checking in early was not a problem. We were welcomed and able to leave our luggage safely while we explored the island before checking into our room. Nothing was a problem.

Our stay at Crown Beach Resort was exceptional. The beachfront villa was beautifully appointed, combining comfort and understated elegance. The resort has recently transitioned to new ownership, and it is clear the team are working hard to restore it to its former glory -though in truth, very little was amiss.

The staff were warm, gracious, and attentive throughout our stay, making us feel welcome at every turn. Dining was another highlight; the evening meals at Crown Beach was easily some of the best we experienced in Rarotonga fresh, flavourful, regional cusine and consistently outstanding. It was far superior to the overpriced and underwhelming meals we had at On the Beach (OTB) for example. Breakfast was a buffet - nothing out of he ordinary, but a great choice.

Altogether, Crown Beach Resort offered a truly memorable experience that exceeded expectations. We look forward to returning. I just wish we had sun loungers on our deck - that is being pedantic, but it would have been nice at $550 a night.

This place is good for a quiet stay and the staff are lovely and friendly. The place is lacking in some maintenance which shows. In particular some water features were not working making them mozzie breeding grounds. Fine, but coupd do with some attention to tidy it all up and make it feel clean and well maintained.

Lovely location on the beach with restaurant and bar. The bar staff are fabulous. A good spot to watch the sunsets.
Breakfast was ok, but could be better.
Dinners and the Island Night were great.

The villas are well equipped, clean and spacious, but there were a few minor maintenance issues (our gate didn’t shut properly and the pool filter wasn't working)

Our villa (29) was at the back of the complex near the car park, where the majority of the roosters were.
They didn’t wait until dawn to crow and were loud all night, particularly from 3am.
We tried ear plugs, but to no avail.

I would probably stay again, but would request a villa closer to the beach.

I booked the courtyard villa with private pool, because it was something I wanted. The pool was excellent, and the room immaculate. However, I requested twin beds, hoping that it would be a double bed each, but they were single beds. I requested for double or queen size, but was told that it was all they had and that the settee in the room could be converted into a bed. The villa was great, spacious and clean. However, the lounges were not wiped down and were old. We did not use them. The cleaners did not leave us clean towels and did not really clean the room. We had to ask for new towels, and sometimes that was all that we required. They did make our beds but I note they did not change our sheets during our 6 days of stay. One of the staff was quite rude and I reported this to the reception staff. When you spend so much for a villa such as the one I stayed at, staff should be courteous and mind who they are talking to. It was obvious that this staff was not courteous at all. I simply asked if they were responsible for cleaning the courtyard, which they turned around and said \"Do you want to clean it\" - that was the first time I had ever encountered rudeness from resort staff, ever After that incident, I was not impressed and to be honest, I would not recommend to any of my friends or family in the near future. While the receptionist Frances was lovely and very hospitable, I feel that the service staff was a big let down. Room service was good though.

It's very clear that the new owners are working on redeveloping the property and are doing a good job of this.

We had a private courtyard room with a pool, which was what you would expect on a Pacific island.

In general, the staff were lovely and helpful.

We had an issue when our Credit card was charged, as when we booked. It was a payment at check-in.

As it turned out, the resort had charged us the day before we arrived.

We intended to use another card.

We phoned the resort 3 weeks before our arrival to check that our understanding was correct.... It was.

We spent the working days of our trip trying to obtain a refund.
Eventually, this happened, just not the full amount.

We had to push for this to happen, after receiving confirmation from the GM that this would be the case, it transpired that it hadn't.

We pushed again, and they finally credited our hotel account.

I found this to be very disingenuous.

As we checked out, we were completely ignored by the GM, but not by his wife.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Crown Beach, the staff were exceptional. It is a small resort which I thought added to its value as well. A very easy place to just relax in, with a fantastic happy hour along the beach front. We were in a villa- they were very spacious and well laid out, felt like your own private space in paradise. An extra bonus I’d not come across with accommodation before is we checked out at 10am but could still use the facilities- we came back that afternoon and had a quick shower before our flight that evening and enjoyed happy hour, the sunset and dinner 1 last time. Something I thought was extra great too if you do the mud buggy’s is they have free washer and dryer on site. Several beautiful touches which elevated the accommodation. Highly recommend

I loved that we each had our own pool and outdoor area to sit although some of our outdoor pergolas were very low and difficult to stand and sit under. Asenna and the bar/dining staff were so friendly as were the cleaning staff and maintenance team. Beautiful sunsets, cheap cocktails, super friendly staff, cute kitty cats and dogs, great food and the nightly turn down service made for an exceptional holiday. We’ll be back!

The villa interior itself was ok; however, the whole property snd resort was in desperate need of a make-over. Our villa pool area was disgusting for example, tiles needed a good jet wash. As was the main pool area. Loungers in our villa pool area were dirty and mouldy so we could not use them. We have never stayed in anywhere so grubby. Its not worthy of 4 star. Sadly, we were very disappointed as the photos on the website doesn't represent the reality at all. See photos in support of our comments.

It was an absolute pleasure spending three days at this wonderful resort! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. I have to give a special shout-out to a few particularly friendly faces who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect (Francesca Satove and Siti). Their genuine warmth and helpfulness truly stood out.
One of the things I appreciated most was the tranquil location. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, it offered a peaceful retreat where we could truly relax and unwind.
Our room was also a highlight. The size was generous, providing ample space to spread out and feel comfortable. It was well-appointed and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
Overall, my three-day experience at this resort was fantastic. The combination of friendly staff, a quiet and serene location, and generously sized rooms made for a truly memorable getaway. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable escape.

5 Star resort seriously!
We stayed in a private 1 bedroom villa and to be honest because it was so private it helped us relax had we had the best holiday ever! every night at 5pm the ladies came around and did turn down service with freshly picked flowers it was soooo sweet. Its an adults only resort and the beach is epic. The pool is amazing and the 4-6 pm happy hour cocktails are amazing by the pool. The breakfast was lovely & even the locals come to eat at the crown so that tells you a lot that its good and its good service. The staff at the crown were so lovely and helpful, the food at the restaurant was amazing, buffet & cultural nights the food was so good and the cultural team was amazing! My husband and I went snorkeling right out in front of the resort along the shore and there are so many fish to see. There is a gear shed where you can use snorkeling gear & reef shoes.
I have nothing bad to say about this place, we were so happy & sad to leave but have promised each other to go back because we received such amazing service & a beautiful stay.

Perfect location on the western side of the Island with Sunset views, whale watching and great snorkeling right on your doorstep. Loved happy hour with a variety of $8 cocktails and cocktail of the day for $10. The cultural show is great and are the same dancers as Highland Paradise. Staff were helpful and friendly and helped us organise activities. There is a free washing machine and dryer too. Bring some earplugs though, the roosters are all over the island and crow all throughout the night.

The restaurant had perhaps the worst food I ever had!! I could not wait to go home. Had there been more than two flights a week I would have left three days into my trip. I tried to contact expedia for refund so I could go elsewhere but it is impossible to get through to expedia! I am very disappointed with the entire experience!

Its quite dated now for the price you pay. Bed is 2 singles together & you feel the join & its not a comfortable bed. The phone is hopeless due to service/static so was hopeless trying to order room service or ringing reception. Justbso you are aware The menu/food not the best & when its theme nights you cant order anything else except off the snack menu so not good if you have no transport to go elsewhere.I only stay here if i travel on my own due to having a private pool room otherwise we stay elsewhere. However the staff are lovely.

Had an amazing stay at this property. We had the 2x bedroom beachfront villa that had a private pool. It was absolutely amazing having the view of the ocean from the room, verandah and the private pool. Breakfast option was adequate and even on arrival they were generous to provide us complimentary breakfast as we arrived a little earlier than check-in. The restaurant was also great - we had the seafood buffet along with live entertainment. The beach was beautiful but a little rocky and shallow to go snorkelling. You’ll need aqua shoes and go out far from shore to enjoy the snorkelling. Overall, had a great time at this hotel and highly recommend!

This is a beautiful resort with bungalow's right on the beach. The beach is beautiful and the reef area is an amazing experience. The bungalow was big and very pleasant. Wifi in the bungalow's was awful, spotty, slow, and would drop in and out. Think 90's wifi. AC in the bungalow was great, but they don't heat well at night.

Had a great stay during my visit to Rarotonga, think premises are great, however looking a bit tired, was concerned as a Firefighter in New Zealand that the unit I was in did not having working smoke alarms, this is all understandable with what has gone on in the past 3 years.

1st time in Rarotonga and Crown Beach Spa Resort made it extra special, staff are friendly and accommodating, the facilities are AAA and the food is top of the line. The Island night is a must do while you are there. Loved it and will be definitely returning.

My wife and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the Resort, Lucky and Ruby were simple the best and the beautiful lady who looked after our housekeeping matters was terrific.
A major downside for us was the slow turnaround by the kitchen staff. One hour and 35 minutes for a simple Pizza is not good enough. On another occasion we waited some 45 minutes for 3 identical entrees because that is all be wanted to eat
Another couple sitting with us simple gave up and walked out. The Thursday evening dinner and show was the high light of our stay

Fantasic Villas - roomy, clean, air conditioned and comfy beds.

The resort is well maintained. Fantastic location - walk straight onto the beach. The restaurant has lovely meals. Breakfast is fabulously fresh each day.
Staff are wonderful - so friendly, happy and engaging. You will never feel like a number at the Crown - staff greet you by name.
We will definitely be back

I recently stayed at Crown Beach Resort and was disappointed with my experience. The Expedia website had advertised two bathrooms for my five night stay but when I arrived they can only offer a one bedroom villa. The website mentioned two restaurants, but one of these facilities were closed for renovations without any prior notice.

Additionally, the staff had a do-nothing attitude towards the issues I faced during my stay. I had complained about the wrong info of my room at arrival and they promised me to give me an answer to it, but no action was taken to resolve the issue through my email complaint after the trip.

Furthermore, the room itself was not up to the standard I expected from a resort. It was outdated and some amenities are out of order eg bin and toilet seat, which added to my disappointment.

Overall, I would not recommend Crown Beach Resort to anyone due to their misleading information and their lack of concern for the comfort and satisfaction of their guests.\"

Great room with private pool. A decent amount of the hotel staff don't really care too much about their job. The bar staff in particular.
Your big lad on reception with the hair needs some customer service training urgently. We arrived early and expected to just leave our bags at reception & check in later. All we got was \"check in is at 2pm\". We had to ask if it was possible to leave out bags & come back later.
A seriously terrible first impression of your resort.

I had breakfast at 7:30am one morning on a table closest to the beach. Someone had discarded a wet wipe in the middle of the path leading out onto the beach and was in clear site. At 10am it was still there!!
The shorter lady who was behind the bar most mornings did NOTHING unless she was asked. Super lazy and not what we expected from your 4.5 star rating. We experienced this lack of service from her for the entire 5 days we stayed with you. She seemed to just stare into the computer screen behind the bar endlessly leaving dirty dishes & glasses for long periods until one of your other staff collected them. You seriously need to have a chat with her as she clearly doesn't want to work for you.

Mold all around the pool in our room as well as a little disappointing. Room 31

A special place, easy to recommend!

I would strongly recommend the Crown Beach Resort. The staff were the highlight, along with the setting. We enjoyed the sunsets (along with the reasonably priced happy hour cocktails) and nearly daily view of whales. Food was nice, and also reasonably priced. Some excellent restaurants not far away (i.e., walking distance).
Appreciated the adults only nature, sitting by the pool in the afternoon, and some swimming in the lagoon immediately beside the resort. The resort location was not as exciting for snorkeling, but a short public push ride south was easy to do, and that was an excellent location for that.
Our unit looked a little dated, but very well maintained, very comfortable, and very large. We stayed a week, and would have been happy to stay longer if we could have.

Absolutely perfect for honeymoon. Nice and relaxed with a beautiful beachfront area. The splash pool was delightful on hot days in such a private walled area.
