Poor experience is mostly my fault. Ordered a smoking room and will never make that mistake again. Our neighbor was smoking next to us all night and the smell was unbearable. My wife couldn’t sleep at all. The room was very small. Nothing really redeeming about this hotel. It’s expensive, small, and the smoking rooms are unbearable. No amenities. The staff were friendly and that’s about it.

I stayed at APA Hotel Nishiazabu for 5 nights (May 18–23, 2025) and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
On the first night, the bathroom drain was clogged and overflowed, flooding the entire floor. While I was offered a room change, I had just arrived from Canada and was completely exhausted, so I declined. Thankfully, housekeeping cleaned and fixed it the next day while I was out.
The worst part happened on the last night of my stay (early morning of May 23rd). Around 3:15 AM, I was woken up by extremely loud voices outside my room. I had only gone to sleep around 1:00 AM after packing, so I was shocked and frustrated. I immediately called the front desk to complain and was assured that someone would come to handle the situation. No one ever came. The guests continued being loud, speaking in the hallway near my room. I opened my door to ask them to be quiet—they were foreigners, and one woman sarcastically blew a kiss while saying sorry. It was incredibly rude and upsetting. The next morning, when I told the front desk, they seemed unaware of the entire incident. That was even more frustrating. I was told they would “do more patrols,” but I expected a direct warning or follow-up action with those guests. I’ve stayed at various APA Hotels when visiting Japan over the last few years and had trusted the brand, but this experience made me seriously reconsider using APA again. I hope the management improves staff communication and nighttime enforcement of guest beh
On the first night, the bathroom drain was clogged and overflowed, flooding the entire floor. While I was offered a room change, I had just arrived from Canada and was completely exhausted, so I declined. Thankfully, housekeeping cleaned and fixed it the next day while I was out.
The worst part happened on the last night of my stay (early morning of May 23rd). Around 3:15 AM, I was woken up by extremely loud voices outside my room. I had only gone to sleep around 1:00 AM after packing, so I was shocked and frustrated. I immediately called the front desk to complain and was assured that someone would come to handle the situation. No one ever came. The guests continued being loud, speaking in the hallway near my room. I opened my door to ask them to be quiet—they were foreigners, and one woman sarcastically blew a kiss while saying sorry. It was incredibly rude and upsetting. The next morning, when I told the front desk, they seemed unaware of the entire incident. That was even more frustrating. I was told they would “do more patrols,” but I expected a direct warning or follow-up action with those guests. I’ve stayed at various APA Hotels when visiting Japan over the last few years and had trusted the brand, but this experience made me seriously reconsider using APA again. We arrived at 14:10 hoping to get an early check in because we were in town for a wedding and needed to prepare. The staff refused to allow us to check in without paying additional fees even for only 30 minutes early. The heaters did not work in the room untill midnight and they kept disturbing us with loud announcements. Carpets are dirty in the rooms. Avoid this hotel unless absolutely necessary.

There was no prior written notice that you will be charged 2000 yen if you check out 20 mins later than 10:00 am, sometimes you travel with the little ones, unexpected situation happens, mine was not having a great start of the morning, he was feeling sick, and check out got delayed because of that, even I explained multiple times to the front desk, they didn’t care at all, there was no human compassion or sympathy! All they cared was to charge me 2000 yen for that extra time. Never had I been charged for late check out, usually hotels will accommodate for late checkout, probably more common to charge you in Japan. So for families with kids that need flexibilities of checkout, this is not the place to stay. Their room is also very small, you will have problems storing 2 big suitcases, luckily we had 2 carryons only. Will not recommend this hotel, also will not book it in the future!

While no onsen on the premises the neighborhood amenities and proximity to exploring the south western parts of Tokyo make it a great choice for those who have already done the major tourist traps and want to see a different side of Tokyo.
The refills of necessities hanging on the door after returning from exploring was nice to see. And the staff were more than respectable upon check in and checking out.
Easy to get to the airports as the Hibiya line connects to Ueno for Narita and Higashi Ginza for Haneda.
